2006 S2K red, oem front lip, side skirts, and deck lid. 22k miles clean, stock for $30k. Only live once and can't take money with you. But I love my S2K and young or old everyone knows what it is and thumbs up everywhere.
Sounds like a keeper! For sure, this car gets so much attention now. More than my C8 does. I’ve had gas station attendants leave their post to come out and talk to me about it.
Reading the comments and all , sounds like everyone got a great deal for theirs. I found mines during the spike and definitely paid the GPW tax. However happily paid given its GPW with red seats and carpet plus basic bolt on.
2nd owner here, paid $18,500 for my BB 05 with 52,000 in 2011. A year later it needed an engine swap. Car came from IL, I'd imagine the first owner didn't keep up with his maintenance as the shop who did my swap here was looking at me like I never did oil changes (I had done 3 in the year I owned it). I still have the bad motor in storage... Suspension squeaks on certain days (suspect issues from northern climate) and I have BC Racing coilovers, just lazy to put them in. Outside of that, car has been reliable. Still running factory top with no tears (knock on wood), garage kept. Needs to have the upper o-ring replaced that sits in front of the cylinder head. One common issue I have is that clutch fluid needs to be bled every year or two. If I don't the pedal pressure will soften. Apparently it leaks so slowly (no residue under pedal or anywhere under car) that when I do noticed the pressure is off the reservoir is fairly low. Car has 130,000 miles, engine has around 110,000 miles.
Good deal! Speaking of clutch fluid, I JUST replaced my master cylinder since it was leaking slowly as you mentioned and was dry. Since I’ve done that, car is better than ever.
Damn, that’s a really good deal. I paid 26K for mine. Two months ago with 86,000 miles on it and it had the CR trim including OEM hardtop paint matched so it was a good deal I think.
I got my Ap1 for a straight trade for my Mr2 Spyder. It’s a clapped out rebuilt title 220k mile car that I’m slowly fixing up. Thankfully the motor is swapped with a 90k mile one and it runs smooth. It’s been a fun project that I don’t mind modifying since it’s already so banged up. I plan to get a good example Ap2 to pair up with it next year.
I probably would have made the same trade in your position too. MR2s are cool and all but the S2K characteristics are just too hard to pass up. As you said getting a banged up one makes for a carefree mod and “drive it like you stole it” attitude. Congrats 👍
02 red ap1. Ap2 bumpers & wheels 110k for $14k 4 years ago. Bored/sleeved/built engine top to bottom @ 10k. 26k including clutch ETC. I am very happy with my approach
@fifeflare3220 I think that’s a little high and there are definitely better deals out there. For a few more thousand you could get a lower mileage example.
Paid 22.5k for my spa yellow pearl. 2 owners. All matching vins. Bone stock. 39,800 miles.. back in aug 2023. Going to purchase a one owner 2006 LBP with 32,200 miles this month for 25k
I remember seeing that car at the dealership. I went there to buy a Camry for my wife. I parked my 05 BB s2000 a few spots next to it. I asked the sales rep if the BB s2000 was for sale. The sales rep couldn't find any info on it. After 10 mins, I told him I was JK...the black s2k is mine. We did end up buying the Camry we went to go look at.
May 2020 I paid $21,000.00 for 2005 AP2 Suzuka Blue with 28k Miles. I knew at the moment of purchase that this will be the last time the car would be that price. SO I committed my purchase. There was a guy right behind waiting for me to leave so he can pick it up. Best decision Ive made. Car is worth double the price now
@@bornagainmotoring A lot fewer of them than the Boxster. I had a 1997 Boxster paid 25k in 2002. Sold it 2 yrs ago for 12 k. Had fun with it for many years without much of a financial hit considering how much I used it.
I love mine, its an AP1 but in no way do I think this car is worth the `15-100K price tag. I bought mine 3 years old and have had it since. Its had its share of issues, weak CV Axle and Oil consumption but thats about it.
@@bornagainmotoringany vehicle that actually has a good amount of torque. Mitsubishi evo would be a better car. S2000 has little to no torque. Use a mustang as an example it’s not 400hp and 180ft lb, it’s 460/420. It’s just unbelievably weak. But I understand the reason why, it just has to short a stroke to get good torque
@jimmyjames1411 I hear you! Having owned a C7 Z06 and currently owning a C8, torque is definitely fun. I’ve also owned an STi so no stranger to turbos either. With that being said, the low torque, high revving nature of the S2K is personally exactly what I appreciate about it.

Just got my ‘01 completely stock with 110k miles for 16.5k. Already did the retainer upgrade and banjo bolt upgrade too :)
Congrats! Eventually I’ll do retainers too.
Crazy, how much the prices have gone up in such a short time, I managed to snag my 02; with 126k miles, clean title for only $6,000 in 2019
Wow. That was right before the price hike
Yeah I got my 00 with 119k in 2019 as well for $7800
Clean title?@@mugengt142
Honestly can't get a much better price for that clean with that low miles. And the best color imo. I hope I'm able to find one like this
There’s a 950 mile one on BAT right now if you have deep enough pockets!
Reading the comments and all , sounds like everyone got a great deal for theirs. I found mines during the spike and definitely paid the GPW tax. However happily paid given its GPW with red seats and carpet plus basic bolt on.
GPW on red will always be worth it! During the next spike it’ll return more than what you paid.

WOW! Gorgeous S2K !!! I, too, have the Silverstone color on my ‘04. : )
Thank you! Looks great in the sunlight especially. I feel like it’s the default S2K color.
Got a ap1 s2000 for 4k definitely holding on to it

26K for a CR? That sounds like a deal to me even with the higher mileage!
@@bornagainmotoring no, CR trim. Front lip, hard Top and wing. Still not bad
Reading comprehension -1 for me 🤣 - yeah, still a good deal man. That hard top alone!
OEM hardtop is worth $5-6k so you basically got your car for $20-21k, which is a good deal.

Beautiful man I just did a video on my 2005 ap2 .where did u buy the floor mats ?
Thank you. I’ll check out your video! Got them off of eBay and they came from Poland I think…
@bornagainmotoring ok bro thanks I'm gonna look for them. Gonna take out my Original ones can save them.
Got my 2003 all oem 1 owner. 59k miles . $26900. Suzuka blue with blue interior.
I really like those blue on blues… like sitting in the ocean. Great buy, especially for it being the best year of AP1s
Nice ride along, I subscribed! Maybe you’ll like my AP1 build. Are you in Miami?
Let me check it out! Nah, I am in the DFW area now.
i got mine 03 for 23k at 73k miles which isnt bad, end of the day its an s2k and im happy with it

Not double. More like 30K at current BAT sold prices. 40K and up is reserved for under 15K miles and possibly an 08.
Dude, where did you get those black S 2000 emblems? I had them on my 03 back in 2008. I recently picked up a 2006 and I could only find knock offs.😢
I ordered them from a Japanese eBay store - one of my previous update videos has it I think… the are the OEM Honda ones that would go on a CR.
What do you think is a good price for a 2005 with 140k miles?
I personally wouldn’t pay more than $13k for one that’s in great shape with all of its vin tags
@@bornagainmotoring13k for an 05? No way more than that. If in good shape 20k

You can buy one on Etsy or eBay and have a locksmith cut it and program for the car. Just make sure you get the right year key for your car.
