Bro thats limited edition lmao, dont give it away, Step it aside to a Collection or something
I just paid 25k for a stock ( except for the Ganador Exhaust) 2001 S2K with 54k mikes
AP1 for me too, but it’s insane that we even have a choice.
8000>9000 because you get all 240 hp 1000 rpm sooner than later Ap2 😎
Love the AP1! I have a 02’. Im sure you already know but make sure you upgrade to AP2 retainers and keepers. Intake side is fine but I did both intake and exhaust retainers and keepers on mine.
I got my ap1 s2000 and also had the itch to get something faster as a 2nd car. Thought about the corvette as my buddy is a huge fan. He has a C7 manual and a couple C5 Z06's. They are fast and all, but I just can't. JDM and boost is where my heart is for faster cars, so I ended up importing my 600hp R33 GTR from Japan. No regrets but parts and maintenance is a PITA.
I would love to do a built engine on my s2000 and rev it out to 10 k just for shits and giggles
ND Miata has a better (stiffer) chassis and better steering, but it doesn't even make 100hp/Liter. The s2000 has a true motorsports inspired engine.
Where did you get those
sick, inspired by snail r?
Are you trying to do the Topher voice lol
Love the S2k content. Im struggling to hear you over the music, I must say! I take it the interior was originally black?
02 red ap1. Ap2 bumpers & wheels 110k for $14k 4 years ago. Bored/sleeved/built engine top to bottom @ 10k. 26k including clutch ETC. I am very happy with my approach
Hey it's Lee hope your doing well nowadays! Do you still have an instagram?
Hey Lee! my car insta is down still. I am on FB though! what's your IG?
@@bornagainmotoring @leesrandomadventure : )
03 AP1 is peak
I didn't care what s2000 I got, AP1 or 2, I just wanted one I could afford haha. Ended up finding a deal on an 2004 AP2 and It's so good! I really enjoy it.
If you arent driving an s2000 near its limits, its a terrible car in so many ways.
I also chose an AP1>AP2. Violent Vtec, 9k rpm, cable throttle body, no traction control, cluster is set up better, seats with helmet holes are better... I have AP2 bumpers and wheels. Just missing the AP2 tranny.
Ha nice. We're neighbors. I take my Silverstone silver ap1 on the same roads lol. It's a very enjoyable car.
I also have a 2001 S2000 and love it. C8 as a daily is awesome. I need a couple more seats however.
I can relate to your love for the S2K! As for the c8, I basically just drive it to work. When I’m with the family I drive the MDX TYPE S
When you replaced your clutch master cylinder, did you have to bleed the system?
It was mostly already bled, but yeah it should be done.
yes!!!! AP1 all day!
Amen!
Better than an ND2?
In my opinion, YUP
I love the Honda S2000. I think the AP1 looks alot better than the AP2. I think the newer ones look too Americanized.
I agree, the AP1 is more classic looking
That's so cool dude
Thanks!
Where did you buy your clutch master cylinder?
Directly from the Honda dealership near me
Is this RX-7? I'm Japanese and I love both Japanese and foreign cars!
Yes, this is an FD RX-7!
@@bornagainmotoringoh!
Remember the part number?
It is: 12310-PCX-010
@@bornagainmotoring Thanks, did you also get the 17130-PCX-003 valve and 94109-14000 washer? Did you also replace the little hose that connects to it?
@Youknowme2222 I did get the valve and washer, it was required. The hose I kept the same 👍
Miata is probably the best choice for a first fun car as a learning tool, and to see if a 2 door roadster is even something you will enjoy in the long run. They are slow (safer for young people), cheap, and provide excellent opportunity to learn body control and feeling the limit of grip in a pretty safe manner since they are so light. I had an NB in high school. Loved it. Now that I'm coming up on 30 with a lot more experience under my belt, I want something similar but a lot more edgy, and the AP1 is just the ticket.
That’s right - while an ND2 could be a lot of car for a new driver NA/NB/NC could be a good tool. Not that the ND is terrifying or anything, it’s just in a different league than the previous ones. AP1 is king
Honestly can't get a much better price for that clean with that low miles. And the best color imo. I hope I'm able to find one like this
There’s a 950 mile one on BAT right now if you have deep enough pockets!
the BRZ/GR86 is by far the best choice for a 1 car that can truly do everything with very little compromise in any area and it deserves full credit for that. But for as a secondary car, nothing comes close to the AP1 unless you get into the $60k+ price range. and a clean one of these is 20-30. (for now). Completely agree with the sentiment. I test drove one of these and I'm hooked. Plan on pulling the trigger when the WRX is paid off and plan on having both those cars forever.
Nice, I owned a ‘15 STi and I loved it. Those cars make excellent dailys! With that and an AP1, you’re all set.
It is like buying a new toy to played
Yes, an expensive toy and hobby 😃
We’re you in akina’s five hairpin’s 🤔
This was Irohazaka but I have some videos on akina as well
Ill buy your side strakes to add funds to your jdm headlight fund. Haha
But I need both the strakes and the headlights 😂
Got my 2003 all oem 1 owner. 59k miles . $26900. Suzuka blue with blue interior.
I really like those blue on blues… like sitting in the ocean. Great buy, especially for it being the best year of AP1s
SUPER NICE SUV. I JUST BOUGHT MY 2024 ACURA MDX TYPE S ADV PACKAGE LOVE IT.. MUCH BETTER THAN LEXUS..
Yeah, Lexus is nice but Toyota plays it too safe in the performance department.
What cars have you owned before?
Mazda 6, RX7, RX8, Mazdaspeed3, FRS, STi, 370z, BRZ, S3, C7, C7 Z06, MX5, Macan, C8, MDX Type S
@bornagainmotoring I like your style I own a frs. I would love to own a s2000 one day
@@bornagainmotoring Do you think a Porsche 718 would be a good upgrade from the s2000?
@kgthegreatone943 I hope you get the opportunity my friend. FRS is still a great platform!
@huudo2097 Which trim level? I think if you only have one car and you have to get rid of the S, for sure. It’s superior in many ways. Will definitely be more refined and will be a faster sports car. I have a feeling that if you did do it you would still miss the S down the line.
I agree it is the most comfortable!
No doubt, with 6k miles on the clock.
I love my MDX Type S. I have a ‘17 Tundra too that I won’t get rid of. Not a daily driver. Use it as a truck. It has been great for what is is used for. I would take the MDX Type S for a daily driver over it too.
While I do miss the tundra, the Type S has definitely kept me satisfied.
I kepta 2017 Tundra Tundra Ltd crew. Love the truck. Use it as a truck. Have two MDX type S as daily drivers. Love them all for their purposes. I think the Tundra will stay with us forever. The MDX type S cars are amazing. Hoping to keep the a long time too.
Nice way more than a Porsche Boxster in the same age range. Sold my ‘97 for 13k.
Yup, the price has somewhat leveled but a good condition one is still pretty pricey.
@@bornagainmotoring A lot fewer of them than the Boxster. I had a 1997 Boxster paid 25k in 2002. Sold it 2 yrs ago for 12 k. Had fun with it for many years without much of a financial hit considering how much I used it.
I own one. Love it. Very comfy on long trips. Great acceleration when needed. Suspension is amazing. I have driven the Aspec extensively, not as good. If you can afford it, the Type S is much better! I had a paint blemish on my driver door when I bought mine that I did not discover at delivery. It is being repainted, bummer! I still love the car.
Absolutely fantastic ride - my only gripe is the range, not necessarily the mileage. Tank is a little small but hey, it’s a performance SUV, what did I expect?
@@bornagainmotoring Range should be 400 miles. Great vehicle otherwise. I get about 22 hwy miles per gallon. I love that it is two cars in one.
@davidjones2059 if I’m lucky I’m getting 300 on a tank with mixed driving. Seems others are getting about the same. Wish I could get 400…
Great video. I also have a 2001 silver S2k but with a black interior that I have owned for about12 years. Absolutely love the car and drive it all the time. Bummer about your clutch master cylinder but glad that it was a relatively easy fix. My S2K has been super reliable but I did have to replace a wheel bearing once. Engine runs great and burns zero oil. It's my baby and I take real good care of it. S2Ks are beautiful classic cars and I always have people come up and gawk at my car enviously. Anyone who has one will tell you that the S2K will always put a smile on your face, and you will grin like a madman when you hit 9000 rpm in the AP1.
That’s the S2000 ownership summed up pretty well! How many miles does yours have now? Have you ever been tempted into selling it or had people right make you an offer?
@@bornagainmotoring I bought it with 56,000 miles on it 12 years ago and after putting on about 5000 fun filled miles per year, it's now up to 117,000 miles. Still drives like new and still has the original soft-top in pretty good condition after a refurbishing. Yes, people have made advances to buy, but I always quickly discouraged them from even thinking I would sell. However, my realtor friend is a young married guy who absolutely loves my car and offered to buy it outright whenever I decided to stop driving, so I might do that since I know that he would take very good care of it. I'm now 75 years old with some major health and mobility issues so I know I won't be driving indefinitely. One has the choice to have a magnificent car like the S2K sit all silent and secure in a garage to keep the mileage low, but it wasn't designed or built for that. It was meant to be driven freely on twisty roads with the engine screaming and the top down or take someone in style wherever they want to go. That's the difference between a mere collector and a true driver. I'm glad that you picked up the AP1 with the 9K redline and the twitchy, sometimes hair-raising handling. Mods can be added to improve things. My best mod was adding a folding cupholder of all things. Trust me, it works great. Myself as an old-timer, have kept mine as OEM stock as I can to maintain the original feel of the car. Others can take a highly modified route and that's fine too. Enjoy your beautiful S2K, take pride in it and above all, have lots of fun in it. Cheers!
@uffdad8211 thank you for sharing your experience. I pray all the best during your health and mobility issues. There’s nothing like the AP1, or the S2000 for that matter and your words couldn’t be more true. Happy motoring my friend!
@@bornagainmotoring Thanks and many happy miles in your S2K, my friend. Take care and be well.
having a c8 as a daily driver is definitely not something you hear every day😂 currently saving up for my uncles half track ready /half street ready toyota mr2 spyder, bought an eclipse to daily drive manual before jumping into something more extreme and rwd, 8 weeks left to save up im almost there
Street-able track MR2 sounds amazing! I like those spyders, especially with a hardtop. They don’t get enough credit. I pray you reach your goal soon and it’s better than you’d hoped.
@@bornagainmotoring i am super lucky! its a factory hardtop imported from switzerland if i remember correctly, its all the OEM silver, i appreciate it a lot, im very excited

Thanks. Legend has it that real recognize real 🤝
Shout out for Silverstone S2000 AP1. I've had mine for 5 years and have done some minimal mods which really enhance the car. 1. Fujitsobo Exhaust (slightly louder than OEM). 2. AP2 V1 wheels. 3. Extended floor mats (much longer than original and covers the little hump on the floor). Amazing drive and the best gear box in the business.
Right on! Tasteful mods you’ve done. I’m actually doing the premium floor mats next as I can’t stand the basic ones 😃
I think the ap1 looks better and it has the better motor imo
Agreed! The F20c is definitely my favorite and the body is the classic look that I feel the designer always intended.
Hell ya bro i daily my 01 I bought back in 06 mine is red I do wish I bought it in white though almost 130k miles
