This is super awesome! I often had lasers attached to my guns as a visual aid since I have a hard time seeing with my headset on, but sometimes I would lose the dot. The laser beams will really help with accessibility to those with poor eyesight. Thanks Anton!
I guess it's kind of neat in that it forces you to learn the keyboard since you literally can't see it anymore! I don't think anyone who programs for long enough can avoid learning to type forever, we all end up becoming typists whether we like it or not. I don't know what the success rate of typing tutors is, but I do know that spending hours with a keyboard is bound to help you improve :D Well, until AI actually can do all this crap and we use voice commands in between grapes being lowered into our mouths.

For under-barrel lasers it might be better to have the menu be parallel to the barrel. It seems a bit awkward to adjust because it's perpendicular to your grip hand
I think a new station should be made in take and hold to spawn rails that are only compatible with the gun you put it in. 9 out 10 times you spawn a rail its useless.
The new lazers actually solve another problem with H3. I am Red-Green colourblind so trying accurately shoot as distance with a red dot or red lazer was impossible for me. I was always using either the green or blue lazer and scopes but the new optional lazer colour means I can use whatever model I want
it's always exiting to see cool new stuff in the game, i'm exited for the rest of the lasers! yo uknow what else would be cool the 30-40 Krag-Jørgensen rifle.
I love system improvements like these. Even the smallest little touches to make something work better can honestly make a big difference psychologically.
So much great stuff to be excited about in this devlog, reworked lasers and I'm gonna be all over that typing sim. I do hope there aren't any road blocks that stop the night vision, I'm guessing the AI changes needed would be the toughest part, they're already so complex, best of luck!

The lasers look really cool, especially the trail on the green and blue ones, looks very lifelike! I'm curious to see how you handle something like the PEQ-15 since it will have a vertical offset, and a left to right offset. Also thought a dark level would be really cool, and then I played HL: Alyx and experienced a newfound fear of the dark in VR, especially with only having the light on my support hand, like "I really want to reload, but I also really want to be able to see what's going to come out at me from this corridor"
That Meat Fortress sniper scope isn't all that unrealistic anymore, I've seen videos of the US military testing new smart scopes that do basically that.

Making an alternate intuition dark scene T&H with progression from flashlight to maybe some sorta night vision would be a sick mix-up. It would be even harder on the competitive character considering that the sosigs have NVGs and are dark skinned. And the modding community would would go ham with that considering we already got modded NVGs and helmets.

This beautiful space gun is the downward ejecting, 5.56 NATO firing, Kel-Tec RDB (or RDB-C for the traditional grip). It has an HK slap-able charging handle, its adjustable gas system makes handling easy, and it just looks cool. Would totally love to see it in H3 and blast wieners with it! If not the RDB, its forward-ejecting, 7.62 NATO bigger brother, the RFB, is pretty cool, too. Peace!
bro cooking a gourmet meal again also seeing that auto adjusting scope thing got me thinking, would it be possible to turn that into a setting that makes it apply to every scope? I'm pretty casual and I just like to hop on and pop some heads in tnh or whatever every now and then but I hate constantly having to readjust my scope and my shots just not going where i'm pointing the gun. Not sure if this is even possible because I have 0 clue how the game is coded but it would be a nice feature to make life a bit easier for casual players like myself. Also maybe the same thing for lasers since all you'd really need to do is draw a straight line from the barrel of the gun and then make the laser point to the end of it

Others without some form of night vision, yeah, they should absolutely be affected by darkness.

Can’t tell from watching this on my phone if you did anything like this, but in Boneworks, as far as I’ve been able to tell, they have a really cool motion blur system on the laser pointers that makes them look super duper smooth when you use one. Would recommend checking it out if you’re not familiar!

No no no, Anton, please keep the offset menu! However, have it offset based on which hand is holding it, that way the menu is easier to see if and use. Plus it won't mess up my shot lineup if I'm sniping :D Also can we get a gun similar to the Chemrail rifle in elysium? Sometimes I want to go on a power fantasy without using an LMG or Minigun. I really like the H3VR version of the AR2 from halflife btw. Still my favorite gun you've put in.

they tried to teach me typing in school, but it never stuck, then I started playing online video games where typing in chat is a thing you gotta do and I naturally developed my own typing system based on having the home row be ShiftASD and then whatever it is that I stuck my mouse hand onto, usually with my pinkie hovering near to Enter
Now we need a sci-fi laser that uses a laser rangefinder to update the visual laser live to be accurate at any range like the meat fortress sniper scope/laser combo, for us lazybones who want our guns to be accurate without changing the range settings
If you plan to add any new lasers, I ask for you to add the final version of the AN/PEQ-6 for the Mark 23. I know we already have the prototype one but it’s weird not to have the final production version.

Speaking of, the geometry on some on the older guns might not be optimized the best
The 15° offset might make that easier to read beneath the gun.

I think it makes sense that the laser menu be rotated a little. Unlike with scope adjustment, the grip of the gun and your hand is kind of in the way.
