theres a lot of things called sandtrap anton i thinkin of Half Life 2 and Halo 3 mp really cool mao though, so glad we finally get it after you teased it like 3 years ago:)

The new version includes a co-op mode with progression, a way to call in firends mid match, increased pockets sizes, and a ton more borderline pay-to-win features. people who bought the previous best version were promised access to all DLCs in the future, and apparently were directly lied to.
lmao i completely forgot about the handcopter 🤣 i think those stairs totally get in the way of you trying to set up a bipod on the sides of the tower that face towards the targets at 4000m though
so, for this scene there is one thing that i consider would be really interesting to have, which is the range target that shows the hits and sets, since its a sniping map it would be really in our interest to have an easy way to tell where we are hitting with some precision and real time. maybe make a larger version for helping with zeroing at extreme distances aswell :>
That part with the fountain is so exciting for me, lol. I've been wanting to have some relaxing target shooting there since I saw it in the first video a long time ago. Thanks for adding it, I love the feel it has being in the middle of a big desert area.

I use h3 as a vr 'aim trainer' for onward which i play professionally and I always have wanted a map that is more of an arena shooter that is large. So seeing the inclusion of larger maps that are going to likely have sosigs to actually shoot at rather than targets is amazing. Maybe some day in the future we could get a domination style map that is large that has some easy to hop into mechanics and is a bit more designed to actually fight on like the institution. Currently the only option for making long shots is northeast Dakota but it has that super thick fog that makes it hard to find anything further than 300yd's and because its take and hold there is not many targets to be shooting at around the map, though im not going to pretend i know how difficult or realistic something like that would be to make in this game.
i cant wait for someone to put an barrel extender on a barrel extender on a barrel extender (repeat a couple thousand times) and use that to hit the furthest target possible.
I would love to see a variant of the sniper sosig that is like, "ultra long range" that would have a bigger boltgun and higher accuracy, to do counter-sniping as the player on sand trap map. It would be fun!
Yes!!! I've wanted a range like this for a while now! Was hoping to see maybe some new bolt actions or semi auto DMR's being implemented! Noticed recently that there wasnt a whole bunch besides World War style bolt actions.
I would love to see some basic sosig combat in general, I love to play around in the proving ground, but the "Combat" area is very small. But as always looking forward for the new map.
@@FoxFavinger Yes, but I kinda wish we had a proper survive kinda thing, like the Hold part of TNH is the part I enjoy a lot. But the “walking” around in between sometimes takes too much time, just for the hold to be over in a short time. Also, the Vanilla Characters are getting really repetitive if you play the game a lot, at least for me, and since the character modding seems to stagnate a bit at the moment it's kinda bland.. It's hard to describe honestly, I hope you kinda understand what I mean here. I love this game as in, its the only full VR game I play a lot, but sometimes I just wish there would be a more continues combat mode. So, I would love to see some sort of casual Sosig combats on more maps. Maybe I have to figure out how to mod stuff like that myself, but damn the time that takes.🤣🤣
Maps like this (i remember the very first devlog it was shown in!) make me think man, it would be so cool to have vehicles in this game for traversal. Like a little jeep. And then naturally the immediate thing that comes to mind after that is that this is a game about shooting stuff with guns of all sizes. So what comes to mind is functional tanks with full interiors you can cram your way through. I want to be able to crawl through a Sherman interior in vr and drive it from the driver's hatch, reload by hand in a loaders position, shoot the gun from the gunners position, and command sosigs crewing the tank with my head out of the hatch.
I would love to record attempts to hit the super far targets but since you can only record from one position at a time it makes it hard to verify the accuracy
After countless hours of ranged shooting in H3 it has definitely translated to real life shooting. I was posted against a tree and taking shots with a .22 at a target ABOUT 183 meters away . While the scope didn't have enough notches to compensate for bullet drop, just keeping the crosshair placement where it needs to be is something this game has made me good at, and I ended up hitting shot after shot.
Once folks get used to those distances, you'll need to add variable wing speeds and the Coriolis effect. I can see people putting a wind sock down range and doing math just to see the mustard flow.
I just went on and shot at that 2 km group from the top of the tower with the rifle that spawns below it, plus a bipod on a folding table. I was able to hit it consistently after I found the right elevation adjustment, but I feel like that's about as far out as I'd reasonably be able to hit off a bipod in H3. I was kinda fighting the bipod not to jump around in order to do that.
Awesome to see more long range maps! I think it would be really cool if you could set a random map wind direction so you would have to adjust the windage on some shots. This should be togglable though.
One thing I would love to see is a refresh on some guns or added variants that are missing from certain weapon lines. The P226 is nice but the decocker doesn’t really work like it should. The G3 variants are a little under-represented. The K and collapsing stock variants are not present nor is the option to have a non-SG1 variant with the tropical handguard. The HK33 is absent entirely so I’d love to see that properly represented. The G36 is missing a few variants, mainly the K and the E variant without a bipod and only a 1x optic. You can’t really replace the optic with a rail so a railed standard G36 would be nice too. Love this new long range map, can’t wait to test some long range iron sight stuff! :D
I've missed too much! I need to hop into game again soon to explore stuff like scopes, the tons of new models, the toolbox stuff, the gun spawner stuff, all the new guns, everything!

Not with that thing though lol. I only used it because I happened to have it, a scope, and a muzzle bipod very early on in the advent calendar
I do feel like this map has a lot of range and versatility, you could fly helicopter mods, drive vehicles, and test out mortar engagements! Also, the new scope system is great! I, however would like a weapon mounted rangefinder, Do you know what else is designed to use a scope system + rangefinder and has a lot of range and versatility? the M40A5 bolt action rifle.

Nice! If long range shooting is planned to be more prevalent of a gameplay style, is there any plans for a modelling of transonic instability? I don't think magnus or coriolis is necessary (especially not coriolis if you don't even have a compass or watch lol) but I've done basic transonic modelling in another game and it was beneficial to players' choices when selecting for long range
I love this level. I have successfully hit the 2000 targets with the rifle that spawns on the table, as well as the barrett .50 cal, from the tower. I haven't found any rounds that can make it out to the 3000 yet. Do you know what ones can do it? I would love to get those shots. Also I heard you say something about locking. Is there a way to lock the rifles in place and make minor adjustments? That would make shooting bolt guns so much easier. I often lose the target when racking the bolt and at those distances, it can be hard to find them again lol. Thanks for making such a great game.

Have you tried Take and Hold with the item spawner enabled? That’s my go-to for low pressure combat that still has a bite to it.
