The real meat (funni joke) of this game is Take and Hold. Once you get the basics, you can give yourself lots of health and start hammering away at that mode. Its so deep, engrossing, stressing and fun, that I would gladly pay even 2x the asking price just for that mode. The rouguelike elements, characters that are totally different to each other, and the ways the concept is twisted just by adding a custom maps/character is just bonkers. The feeling of doing something tacticool with a gun, sneaking and breaking a sosigs neck, stabbing and using their body as a meat shield, completing a shooting challenge on a hold without a miss, unloading whole magazine on a bunch of enemies... There are just so many great expieriences you can get with TnH, that I dont think any game ever got even close to recreating.
Hell yeah brother. Take and hold along with the Meat Fortress stuff are my favorite parts of this game. The thrill and horror of play take and hold is just incomparable (note I’m 170 so the hot dogs are horrifyingly large).
i love and appericate the youtubers who pick this up and acknowledge the fact they've only scratched the surface of this game as its got a learning curve thats a bit steep and thats just learning how to work the weapons but with time you learn all the hand crafted for your pleasure and ease of use short cuts to work everything which you can see in your options menu like a way to work the bolt of your rifle to make it ridiculously easy to shoot using a scope or how to drop a mag and pick up another one using the same hand (smart palming for extra tactical reloads)
"Only one dev" isn't entirely accurate, since he does have help with the weapon models, but Anton does do everything else and does make a few models himself as well as finalizing the rest.
H3VR is _the_ game I bought VR for. As a gun loving fanatic who lives in Germany, I went in with little to no firearm knowledge, only "guns are cool and I wanna handle them" It took me roughly a week to get accustomed to all the controls and general gameplay, but once I got used to Armswinger and Classic controls (this was before Streamlined was added), it's the best control scheme honestly. Also as you said, this is no arcade shooter, it's a real gun simulator, and because of it I was so spoiled that whenever I try to play any other VR shooter games I just get disappointed because of their gun implementation. 220 hours later (and counting) I got the gun safety rules hardwired to my head and I treat airsoft guns as if they were real (as you should, they can still seriously hurt when mishandled), I have a way better knowledge of firearms (still not good at it, but enough to hold a conversation), and most of all, it sharpens my mechanical skill and focus under adrenaline (eg. during Take and Hold sections), all in all, it was definitely worth the 20 EUR I've spent on the game, hell, I'd pay 60 EUR for it. Also don't even get me started with mods, there are SO MUCH content that Anton could literally just take a year to focus on giving the game more polish (not saying that it isn't, but more is always welcome), add more QoL features and frameworks for better modding capabilities (which he is already doing), and we'd still be fine on getting new content every now and then since the modding community is very active. All in all, this is THE definitive VR game for me.
Totally agree with all you said, I also bought my VR headset mainly for H3 ^^ I had gun experience and knowledge before the game, but jsut being able to handle them in a safe environment is so much more fun, not to mention all the weird and quirky guns you never even could imagine to touch in real life (looking at you, G11 and Pancor Jackhammer) the only thing I am sad about is that this game dosnt have a coop mode

This is the only game I can really say that if you can learn to use a firearm in-game I can hand you the real deal and you can use it.

I grew up around firearms and I have tried to demo VR to people with this game and did not realize that people didn't understand the concept of magazines or charging handles. You keep mentioning developers, but it's actually only 1 guy who's outsourced some models but created the rest himself
Yeah, I said developers just to include the people who did a lot of the modelling as well. You can find a link to Anton's channel ( the main dev) in the video description!
awesome video, though i feel like the view we had throughout this was a bit weird. did you crop the gameplay recording?
I wish this was on Quest 2.
also, mod support
this game is actually made by one man anton and he does have a youtube channel
if you think THIS is crazily detailed, you should check out the mods,
it's a cool game. I love the weapons and there are so many of them.
but H3VR lacks the stuff do do with all these guns. take & hold is cool but I kinda want more.
the other "scenes" aren't that interesting to me. like the grillhouse is just another testing environment.
but I hope there will come much more in the future... maybe. until then I will play endless rounds of take and hold.
5:12 - Which map/mod is that?
Team Fortress 2 Take and Hold I think!
@@churlish - Sure? Never heard of that map for Take and Hold - and the short video segment does not look like Meat Fortress. - But maybe I just don't know that perspective. ;)
@@JoernR It was a while ago so unsure! If I get down to it I’ll let you know exactly. Thanks for watching!
@@churlish - I guess you pointed me into the right direction. Now I've got a reason to replay all the H3VR mods I ever downloaded. :D
Too bad that you didn't mention the growing modding community. It's getting huge now, and there are tons of content liie maps and guns there
funny how he said developer(S)
(hint there's only one)
What movie is that at the beginning?
Police Academy
Thanks!
you were wrong, pavlov is dead now
YES SAME +++++
500th sub
Collab with habie147?
seeing someone thats not an american is very funny hehe
yup nothing as fun as h3vr
isn't it just one developer?
shooting a gun and saying "who needs this" is the most commy thing I've ever heard, get some freedom kid
@@Willy_the_gunslingin_studentOD wants and needs are different things, we were taught that as kids 🤭
@@churlish lol I appreciate your understanding of the humor in my comment. Btw that rifle does have a need. Anti-material use for poorer militaries. Also I need it for fun so that too (also, im obviously a gun nut, so bigger the bang the more dopamine I get)
@@Willy_the_gunslingin_studentOD to be honest I’ve forgotten what firearm it was in the video, but since making that video I have ventured into the hobby myself, (legally of course)4 years on now and H3VR was a significant factor for sure
@@churlish that's fantastic to hear! Always love hearing people getting into the hobby, there's tons to learn! Shoot straight and stay safe my friend
Now try mods
This is saying well the bad parts only matter and game suck guns are (complicated hmm maybe if u would of know this is funny hotdog shooter rellastic gun era and and also trying using ur brain like u run out of ammo and u acted like this game sucks lol also it’s how u say fun what’s wrong with shooting hotdogs and them exploding and plus u did not go through all the game modes
I think you misunderstood the video. I really enjoyed H3VR, and I apologise if that didn't come through very clearly in my video. I will be bringing out more videos soon to highlight this game again, since it is in my top 5 best VR games, as I said in the video.
Let me be frank. I saw this game Via Jeditobiwan. And his wild reload videos. I personally purchased a cv1 rift. Haven't looked back since. Play it near daily.
