Jordan Poole’s contract with the Golden State Warriors has become a significant financial strain for the team. After showing flashes of brilliance in the 2021-2022 season, Poole signed a hefty extension. However, his inconsistent performance and struggles on the defensive end have made it difficult to justify his salary. The Warriors, already managing several max contracts, find themselves burdened by Poole’s contract, which limits their flexibility to build a more balanced and competitive roster.
Bradley Beal’s max contract with the Washington Wizards is one of the most contentious in the league. While Beal is undoubtedly a talented scorer, his enormous salary has not translated to team success. The Wizards have been stuck in mediocrity, unable to surround Beal with the necessary talent due to the financial constraints imposed by his contract. As Beal ages and his defensive liabilities become more pronounced, the value of his contract becomes increasingly questionable.
Zach LaVine’s lucrative contract with the Chicago Bulls has raised eyebrows across the league. Although LaVine is an explosive scorer and an All-Star, his salary does not align with the Bulls’ overall performance. The team’s struggles to advance deep into the playoffs highlight the imbalance between LaVine’s pay and his impact on winning. This financial commitment hampers the Bulls' ability to make additional moves to improve their roster and compete at a higher level.
Draymond Green’s contract extension with the Golden State Warriors reflects his past contributions more than his current production. Green’s defensive prowess and leadership were instrumental in the Warriors’ championship runs, but his offensive limitations and declining athleticism make his hefty salary a burden. As the Warriors strive to maintain their championship window, Green’s contract complicates their efforts to acquire the depth and versatility needed to sustain success.
Ben Simmons’ max contract with the Brooklyn Nets has become a significant liability. After his well-documented struggles in Philadelphia, Simmons’ move to Brooklyn was expected to rejuvenate his career. However, injuries and a lack of offensive development have severely limited his impact. His enormous salary, combined with his unwillingness to shoot and inconsistent availability, makes it one of the most overvalued contracts in the league, hindering the Nets' ability to build a cohesive and competitive team.
Khris Middleton’s contract with the Milwaukee Bucks is increasingly seen as a financial anchor. While Middleton has been a crucial part of the Bucks' success, including their 2021 championship run, his large salary is now a concern due to his injury history and inconsistent performances. As he ages, the Bucks are finding it harder to justify his contract, which consumes a significant portion of their cap space, limiting their ability to add depth and support around Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Jerami Grant’s contract with the Portland Trail Blazers is considered overpriced given his role and production. Grant, signed to a significant deal after a breakout season in Detroit, has not been able to elevate his game to match his salary. While he provides solid defense and scoring, his impact does not justify the financial commitment, restricting the Blazers' flexibility to build a more competitive team around Damian Lillard.
Deandre Ayton’s max contract with the Phoenix Suns is a point of contention. Despite being a former number one overall pick and showing potential, Ayton’s performance has not consistently matched the expectations of a max player. His struggles with consistency and effort, particularly in critical moments, make his contract seem excessive. The Suns, aiming for a championship, find Ayton’s salary a significant obstacle in assembling a roster that can support their aspirations.
Karl-Anthony Towns’ supermax contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves is seen as overly burdensome. While Towns is an offensive powerhouse, his defensive deficiencies and inconsistent leadership raise questions about his value. The Timberwolves’ inability to advance in the playoffs despite Towns’ presence highlights the disparity between his salary and his impact on winning. This financial strain limits the team’s ability to surround him with the necessary talent to compete at a higher level.
Andrew Wiggins’ contract with the Golden State Warriors, although restructured, is still considered steep given his role. Wiggins has been an important piece for the Warriors, especially in their recent championship run, but his salary does not fully align with his overall production. As the Warriors navigate the complexities of maintaining a championship-caliber roster, Wiggins’ contract remains a significant financial hurdle, impacting their flexibility to add and retain key players. - Спорт
The way bottom five takes 17 minutes and top 5 is finished in just 7 minutes will never stop being funny 🤣
I get tired and the recording time on my camera only goes to like 29 minutes. Subconsciously I speed up 🤣🤣
They need less explaining 😆
Cant wait to eat lunch to this
videos to chow to
Found your channel a few weeks ago and really like the style. I like that you're doing your own form of ranking and not putting players in a different Tier chart like many are doing. It feels refreshing.
I know about your other channel too but I prefer this one because the videos are longer and it's perfect to have them on the second screen or background while playing 2K
Keep up the good work!
Thanks man! it's funny how we all use youtube for passive viewing and listening. I always have some podcast on the tv while I'm editing.
This is actually a big board of the hornets trade targets😂
digging through the bargain bin
Bradley Beal has doomed Phoenix to be mid for years. For that kind of money, he needs to be an elite closer but Phoenix is the worst team at closing.
I know. They should trade Booker and Maybe even KD. Build around him for a few years and acquire assets from those stars.
they should try to be just okay for a few years
@@whatshorts Trading Booker is really their only option to improve. Their problem is having 2 shooting guards and no point guard. Even if they traded KD, they would be still left without a point guard. Beal has no trade clause and no trade value.
@@myrdin9216 Phoenix will never trade Booker. He's their guy forever. And even without the no-trade clause, I don't know what team would want to pay Beal that much money.
How in the heck did Washington even get rid of Beal ?? The Wizards should have free pizza nights for fans, just to celebrate Bradley Beal's departure
They'd never. haha. pizza profits are huge
I need a best NBA contracts video sir
Stop I'm blushing.
The wizards definitely won the Beal trade just for the fact they got rid of that contract
You're right, but let's keep it real... they still aren't winners.
@@whatshorts yeah it must be sad to be a wizards fan
@@JacobKraemer414holy moly it’s rough let me tell you. Not a lot to look forward to or look past on
@@TanoookiMario377 it’s okay I’m sure they will get something right eventually
Golden State had a 60% winning percentage with Draymond and 48.1% without, for just 24 mil it does not even deserve top 10. His presence alone was a big game changer and still efficent from the floor. They went 8-2 in the last 10 games,. I would put Tyler Herro in that slot instead.
yeah, he was on a few of the lists I was doing research on. You're probably right, I'm just a little biased.
love watching your videos while i cook man id love more long videos, keep getting as side tracked near the end as you do during the beginning
Thanks man! I might do that this summer. I got a few weeks off. Nice passive viewing/listening stuff.
Back in the day, these kinds of lists would be filled with Knicks roster
sure would
@@whatshorts I might be wrong but I think there was a time the knicks had eddy curry david lee zach randolph on the same team and were considering ron artest...wtf
Love your videos and editing style, on both this channel and especially your other one. I hope you always keep doing YOU and bringing entertainment.
Thanks! It's been great to see people enjoying them! see you next monday!
Your videos are fantastic man
Thanks a lot man! It's really exciting to see that people are enjoying them.
If I’m forced to choose between KAT and Anthony Edwards I’m choosing Edwards every time. He’s younger, hes a better player and he’s shown a lot more promise in a lot less time.
no question.
Imagine if the Houston rockets had Draymond Green instead of Dillon Brooks? I think that might have been enough to get them into the last play in spot instead of Golden State. I'm not positive of that but I think he's a pretty good upgrade on Dillon Brooks. They may have paid him more than Golden State paid him.
I'd love to see Draymond and Brooks on the same team.
Bradley Beal's agent is the GOAT of NBA agents 😂😂😂
haha, sure is!
Jerami Grant has a history of quitting his season early. 5 years straight of early vacations so his terrible team can tank for the draft. Easy money
you think he'd cancel his flights if he had a good team though?
@@whatshortsconsidering he hightailed out of Denver I don’t think he wants to win.
Lmao love this. Keep up the good work my guy. Definitely my favorite new Bball channel!
Love to hear it! thanks for checking out the channel!
Kinda wish Zach LaVine went to the pistons. They're loosing games either way but it would be nice to see a flashy player on floor
They can afford it too so why not
the contract is too long. he'd be flashy for a bit get hurt and the city of Detroit would hate him.
Draymond “ADDED INCENTIVE” Green
haha wdym?
Good video bro 🎉
thanks for checking it out!
Khris Middleton was THAT GUY in the playoffs... that game where he sank those two damn near game winning 3's is still the best game so far throughout the playoffs (other than game 5 of the mavs wolves series cause im a mavs fan ha)
but the stats look dec on paper
Glad I stumbled upon your content, you have the swagger of an IGN reviewer playing Spiderman 2
Dude, I loved those ign hosts. they were so funny and authentic. I don't even play video games.
Worser for whom? Bane's contract is good for him, bad for everyone else, because he is not worth 40 mil a year.
oh yeah, I forgot they maxed him. I think next year, if the grizz suck again people will start MF'n his contract.
"This is the new John Wall contract. This is that new Russell Westbrook contract, that's going to just bop around...
Oh, wait. That's right, the no trade clause"
Simple but brilliant in that it is going to remind every involved party every few days for 3 whole years. Oof
I know. the only value of a giant contract for a player like that is that you can give it to a team to burn. that contract is flame retardant
Tobias Harris getting away with it
He's officially a free agent in a week or 2
Your clippers takes in the previous videos are nice
watch them win a championship next year lol
hey man love your content, hope you had a good birthday :)
thanx! it was great, man!
I remember people defending the Draymond contract and saying it was a STEAL😂
Some people still think so
the wolves are screwed if they can't get rid of KAT, they have no chance of winning a championship as long as he's on the team, he's the most unserious player in the league.
somebody wants Kat.
Holy I found more of your content than the lord😭 my goat
the auxiliary channel
Greens contract isn't great but 6th worst in the league is crazy. They could get off of that contract in 10 minutes if they wanted too
Lakers have probably been calling to get it since last year.
The zach lavine deal is the worst deal i have ever seen...the ben simmons one is close
fax
I wonder if the Bulls FO would be prepared for the image hit of just salary dumping LaVine, with a marginal return. Would a team do that, maybe? Or would it have to be a bad contract for bad contract?
Another good video, regardless.
I think any players the pistons would give back would look like a salary dump at this point.
Idc what anyone says. Ben Simmons contract is wild bro be injured more then he's on the field... It's a robberyyyyy
for sure, but at this point in time there's only a year left on that puppy
DeAndre ayton is a good stats bad team guy. Also I think that points per game thing went way up in the second half of the season when he was just stat stuffing. He plays with no heart and very little drive and isn't worth anything near the money he's getting paid. The guy was picked in front of Luka Doncic. He has not come anywhere close to living up to his billing. Super unmotivated player.
yeah, that's why people are high on Ayton. Someone had to get points and rebounds for Portland and a lot of teams were phoning it in at the end of the season.
Yo idk how the Suns pay all that money next for players who can’t even get to the semi finals
Overcompensation is how.
1) Do and will always hate KAT (no other player actually hate in the league besides his dumbass) - trade him to WSH/ATL and Gobert to TOR.
2) LaVine (and Devin Booker for that matter) need to hit the weightroom a-la Steph to remove soft label ... (remember Jrue ripped/embarassed Booker in the finals ... that label ain't on Beal to correct regardless of his shit contract).
3) JGrant don't necessarily seem care about impacting winning; and is MPJ's overpay any better?
4) BSimmons or Beal to Utah for Sexton/JClarkson?
5) Ayton better fit on NOP or ORL (possibly package Brogdon or Simons)
6) Wiggins/Poole ... both headcase jokes
7) Draymond earned his $$ regardless, shot solid 3% last year
8) Middleton finally after 18 months looked like the old Middleton in this year playoffs ... was hard to watch prior (admit I gave up on him thought he was washed) but remember Bucks don't have a championship without him, def super solid player when healthy (PHL gets that quality outta TH they beat the Knicks this year and/or Boston last year were up 3-2).
MPJ is good he just really ate it in the playoffs. He'd be 11
MPJ got no handles, which is pretty f'ing sad for the $$ he's getting, as he should be able to 1-2 dribbles (off the 3pt shot fake) get to the rack and rarely does so.
I’m so glad you ain’t pick on kawhi man 😂
he got lucky.
Towns starting to catch the injury bug happened at the worst time. A 7 footer with two lower body injuries in two years while Edwards rose to the top on the pecking order. Also Glen Taylor said he felt healthy enough to keep running the franchise, he turned *83 in April.* While he can say he did keep them in Minnesota he's done fuck all with the Timberwolves that last 30 years.
I'm super interested to see what happens with the wolves this summer.
When Taylor either dies or becomes too incapacitated/old to run the org he'll probably let his kids take his share and then decide what to do with it
Unless the Wolves start sucking again, then he'll probably try to scam A-Rod and the other guy in minority ownership
I will trade Simmons for Poole. At least he can't be a damage on the court.
This is true. Poole is a net negative
obligatory sixers aren't trading Joel Embiid comment
I've been waiting..
I might be single, unemployed, and have a receding hairline but what shorts uploaded another deep dive 😈

i would take khris and jerami off this list
I would now too.
Great hat

The blazers gotta trade grant lol also Bradley Beal has a great agent.😂
I've heard rumors of Beal for Lebron. Spread that around
Does Monty Williams’ coach contract count
No, but if it did I would have probably put it at 10.
U should stop using per as ur advanced stat to go to. It’s a decent stat but there a lot better ones out there like raptor score or win shares
yeah, I may play around with some different ones for next week.
The lavine contract is worse than ben

I hadn't noticed this before but Karl Anthony Towns is pretty clse to a 50 - 40 - 90. He shoots his firee throws at 87% or else he would be in rare company. But with that being said I'm still not a fan of this guy. Very few assists and almost an equal amount of turnovers to assist. He does shoot well for a big man but he doesn't do that much of the other stuff. He certainly does not have a lot of supporters. I'm not sure if that's fair or unfair but it is a fact.
he's great at a lot of things, and bad at a lot of things. It'd be nice to see him work on his fouling on defense.
As a Wolves fan I love his shooting splits but they always take a drop each playoff series. He's loyal to the franchise but at almost 29 he is a finished product and clear #3 option on a championship caliber team. He is the Chris Bosh of any trio
@@richborn6700 former Miami Heat players say that Chris Bosh was the most important part of that super team. I don't think that Karl Anthony towns is ever going to be the most important part of any team. He's still a good player but I don't know what kind of role he should have on a winning team. He Is obviously far too inconsistent to be counted on for a championship team. Maybe he does need to be the number three player on a winning squad but who is going to take his place as the number two guy for Minnesota?
I think Draymond is well priced, if he doesn't act out, but he does act out! Wiggins is odd, I'm hoping he bounces back as he is in his prime.
Anyway, a decent union and enormous base salary does help get folks long periods of time off for personal reasons.
that's a good call. most of us laborers are mercenaries
Could Ayton be good on team where they have other killers and hes just a passable center?
Like the Suns? ;)

This show sucks
Imagine having to edit it.
I get why people think the Beal trade was horrible for the suns but in reality it’s a trade they probably do again. They really had four options 1) keep Chris Paul and Landry Shamet and run it back with the same guys who lost to the nuggets 2) cut Chris Paul’s non guaranteed contract and sign a mid level exception guy like Gabe Vincent and keep Landry Shamet or 3) try to trade Chris Paul and Landry Shamet for someone else despite them having literally no trade value or 4) make the Beal trade. In my opinion Beal had a solid season and is a good player I just don’t think he was used well. The team really just had a confusing season because they were the worst 4th quarter team of damn near all time for most of the season with 3 of the best shot makers in the league. I think they have a good collection of players and really the coaching staff didn’t know how to use them effectively. The media narrative that Frank Vogel is simply a scapegoat in my opinion is inaccurate. Frank Vogel had 3 stars who played good when on the floor and role players who also played good like Grayson Allen, Nurkic, Royce O’Neal and Eric Gordon. Frank Vogel has only been good with teams with good defensive anchors like Roy Hibbert and Anthony Davis. It wasn’t a good coaching fit and I think committing to what this team should a have been which is an offensive team would have been better.
Like Booker better at PG than Beal. LetBooker initiate and run through and off screens more catch-shoot threes Reggie-style rather than middling mid-range which the whole team was guilty of. Put Allen in the corner instead of Durant.
I probably would have gone with option 1 or 2. I'm not super keen on bud, but nor was I with Vogel.
Idk when this channel started popping up on my shit but I love it
