Naz reid at 14 mil per year for 3 years deserves an honorable mention imo
probably would be on here if I didn't include rookies
Feel like this would have been a better video if you didn’t include rookie contracts. Seems redundant to be like “yeah this young guy who is really good is a great contract because rookies get paid way less than vets.”
yeah, most lists don't include the rookies. I accept my failure and will do better.
@@whatshorts you’re not a failure, king.
@JCif92 mature response, thank you for showing us all how to give feedback and keep people up.
i think lauri markkanen deserves a spot. his level of production for only 18 million is an absolute steal
dang. I messed up. I gotta check out his deal.
Agreed
yes but this is his last year. length of the contract is a parameter too.
Coby White for president
Also, I didn't know yt had different font sizes in the description
I think you can even do different fonts
Can’t think of a guy more disrespected as Sabonis. He’s a top 10 MVP candidate but can’t make an all star team and he’s left off lots of All NBA ballots.
tragically unsexy basketball :(
Also tends to choke in the playoffs
@@timeslyce5396 Embiid holds the crown for that.
That’s how pacers fans (me) felt when he was with us.
@@Monster69Cookie luckily Hali is getting some love. Pascal is also very underrated imo. Yall got a good crew.
I agree with how you value Sabonis. The Kings know the skill level of their team because of his 82 games played and dont get trapped into the 'next year if we're healthy' mindset
Fox and Sabonis carried that team.
Austin Reaves averaging 16 4 and 5 this year. And averaging 17 4 and 4 on 47/40/90 for his career in the playoffs in 21 games. And he only making 12 million next year.
yeah, he's got the juice. If I didn't include rookies he would have made the list.
@@whatshorts yea he making 5 million less than Rui. Don't know how the Lakers pulled that off. 😂
Amazing content as always, love from Brazil
sending it back!🇧🇷
Great video. Keep it up.
thanks man!
Brunson sandwiched between rookie contracts? Nice. Idk if you heard but he’s likely to extend this summer at $35m. Massive paycut to help the team build around him. But he’s also looking at the bigger picture too cause the NEXT contract he’ll get paid $70m the first year
like doing a one year 35 mil?
@@whatshorts no that’s just the first year salary, it was reported to be 4 year $156m. That’s $12m per year under what the max would be. Sets him up for one last mega contract and really helps the team with the 2nd apron and all that
@@CheepsAhoy69 dang if I were him, I wouldn't sign that cheap.
deuce has been shooting on amazing efficiency and giving good minutes for like 3m/yr
good call. I shoulda done more research.
I actually think sabonis is the wrong player on the kings to give the best contract value to. The undrafted keon ellis we extended for 3 years 5 million dollars total. And by the end of the year we realized that he was such a good defensive compliment to fox in the backcourt as well as a guy who can consistently make open 3s makes him the best non-rookie contract in the league imo
oh dang. good call out. I gotta look more into Ellis.
Perhaps a smaller name but Sam Hauser on a 2 mill per year deal to be a 7th best player on a championship team is an insane deal
yeah, he really showed up in the finals too
Best nba UA-camr no doubt
happy you enjoy the content, player.
Would love a tier list of the biggest nba injury disappointments. Ben Simmons, lonzo ball are all players who had Great potential dampened by injuries
Ranking players by fragility? I like it.
Blazers got Toumani Camara on a 2nd round rookie bare minimum contract. He's easily the best defender on the team. Portland needs about 10 more Toumani's, and eventually they'll make it back to the playoffs.
what about Duop Reath?
Josh Hart is severely under paid. I think he's the most under paid player in the NBA
he's making 18 million next year and it scales up. team friendly, but I wouldn't necessarily say it's a steal.
best day of the week pt 2
Big Monday guy
@@whatshorts turning me into one of
Hey you did it! I’m gonna have a corn dog today and call my mom!
had to do it.
You forgot Deni Avdija
I know. I am ashamed.
Sabonis played all 82 and his team still performed worse than the sixers come on man
Sabonis glazers gotta glaze. I don't know what to tell you.
I rather have an Ironman playing 82 games a season everytime
The best ability is availability
facts.
I liked the part where you listed the 10 best contracts in the league.
me too!
@@whatshortslmfao
You should've left out rookie contracts. They're pretty obvious. Also Austin Reaves should be here given how much he was projected to make vs. how much he actually got
yeah, no one wanted to bluff the lakers. might do no rookies in month or two
Issue with jaren is his low rebound averages. Even in fiba coach Kerr mention he needs to put more effort in that area. Jaren is similar to AD as they can score and defend. But jaren avoid trying to draw contact, which is understandable the center position is a lot of pressure. But he gotta do that to elevate his potential. Paolo honestly is the closest to the "LeBron like 1st pick player" not Ben Simmons, not Zion.
JJJ rebounding is rough. can't believe I missed that.
@@whatshorts he's always been like that. But imagine those numbers go closer to a double figure his pts average would be higher too making him a double double monster. He just gotta leverage his strength instead of shying away from it
Philly with sabonis and Sactown with embiid in a 7 game series who you taking?
if it's a playoff series I'm going Philly.
Spurs could go for giannis. Imagine that duo 😮
Giannis would have to demand a trade, but it could happen.
Allen to the Thunder would be an amazing deal imo
That's the one I think is happening.
I really wanted to hate your take on damontis sabonis being a more viable starting center than embiid as a sixers fan but after being burnt by injuries for the last 4-5 years in the playoffs... maybe. IDK though. I still think I'd rather have Embiid. He's too dominate, his playmaking is improving, hes a better defender. Durability is very important though.
it's a tough question right? Sabonis isn't going to win you a championship, but he's also not going to break your heart.
I'd take Sabonis over embid. Durability and professionalism.
same.
Yeah including rookie contracts made half of this video kinda pointless. But keep it up king love your vids
yeah, seems like most people agree. I should have titled it "highest trade value contracts"
Should do another one without Rookies
I will. probably going to give it a month or two
Sabonis respect is an easy like
pandering for engagement, baby ;)
Although if they want to be good in the future wouldn't keeping good young players be a safer bet than trading them and having to gamble at the draft?
which part of the video are you referencing?
@@whatshorts when you said the Warriors should trade Brandin Poziemski
will the social security fund run out in 2028?
I guess in theory it's already depleted. I believe it's just part of the federal reserve and we're 30 trillion in debt. lol
lol sabonis over embiid is still wild 😅
I said it. I stand by it.
The best NBA contract is Wemby on a rookie deal. Not even close
Which contract do you say?
@@whatshorts Wemby's contract with the Spurs. 4 years 55M, 13M a year for the best two way player in the league
I think Deni Avdeja has a similar contract to Herb Jones and he is better and younger
Herb Jones is a great defender, but even in this area he is just a little better then Deni. In a good team his stat will be much better (Deni cover more then one player because other players in the Wizards (specially Jones and Poole) just do nothing).
he would have been good. sorry I missed him.
Naz Reid?
he's 11
i know you didnt just put mikal bridges in the conversation as leagues best perimeter defender. advanced stats show that he was below average on defense. 26th, 33rd, 26th, & 34th percentile in Deflections, Defensive rebounding quality, block percentage, and CraftedDPM respectively.
probably a product of him being expected to be the best player on the Nets + the nets also just being really bad
I gotta look into this.
@@whatshorts google crafted nba and find mikal
I agree that Sabonis has a higher value than Embiid pookie dont worry
great minds think alike.
Naz Reid
11 for sure
Mikal as the best perimeter defender? Instantly clicked off after that terrible take
How'd you leave the comment then? ;)
@@whatshortsdamn got my ass. Alright I’ll try finishing the vid
Wow. Jaren Jackson is a horrible rebounder ! That's a low average. 5.5.
dude, good call out. I didn't even notice that. brutal
@@whatshorts Very surprising . With his size and athleticism and being a defensive player of the year kinda guy I would think he'd be averaging 8 -10. He just needs to get a lil hungrier out there for them boards .
adding rookies is so lazy.
I guess I thought of it as more "most valuable contracts" in terms of trading.
@@whatshorts fair enough, good video non the less.
