Yes, learning about the double and triple hydration methods sounds very interesting! I'm a new subscriber and have really been enjoying your videos, thank you.
Nice! I actually put the facial oils last because logically, in my head, if I put the oil before my moisturizer, it will just trap it there and make my skin super oily! I use jojoba oil since I’m in California and the climate is always dry, even during the winter seasons.
Yes, please do a video on double or triple Hydration! This video is very helpful! I use Paula's Choice SPF 50 moisturizer in the morning and find my skin very dry so I add argan oil to my skin. Hi Dr V, my skin is no longer dry and appears much plumper since I’ve been double hydrating with Certraben and organic rose hip oil from The Ordinary. I’ll be 69 years old in a few weeks and my skin has never looked so hydrated. I’m hooked!!! Thank you soooo much. ❤️
One thing I wanted to bring attention to and hope Dr V you can talk about; how different health conditions can affect/cause acne. I recently was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, which explains a lot of my hormonal acne. It started with requesting a blood test from my doctor as I noticed more and more hormonal acne every month. I'd highly recommend this approach to people who are struggling with similar symptoms. It's only now that what Dr V has been recommending for hyperpigmentation after bouts of acne do I see a difference with the products I'm using. Hope this helps anyone in the same boat :)
I have just recently become aware of this correlation. I have cystic acne that got bad month after month. It was unresponsive to EVERYTHING i tried. I also at the same time that i was getting so sensitive to cold ( i live in Texas 🔥 and this summer i had to wear my winter socks and hoodie in the house). This is a telltale sign of a low functioning thyroid, which also impacts uptake of B12 which then becomes a domino effect in about every function of the body. Now that i have been taking something to support the thyroid, i can see the wheels turning. Its only been less than 2 weeks, am so excited to see what happens long term.

Hi Dr. Vanita , I love all of your video’s thank you so much for taking your time and informing us of all of these good things :). One quick question. Is it ok for my day sunscreen to contain rose hip oil?
Thank you so much for these videos Dr. Vanita. I did have a question, I read some ayurveda books many years ago and they recommended to use plant oils only for moisturizing, so ever since then that is all I use as moisturizer and it has been really really good for me. I've been doing that for 16 years now and my skin today looks the same as it did when I started. However the ayurveda books also said to use a tiny amount of essential oils diluted in the main oil for problems, for example lavender EO to calm or disinfect your skin, tea tree oil for acne etc. Only a tiny amount. What would be your take on ayurvedic skincare routines?

Niacinamide is most stable and effective at a pH of 5.5-6.(skins normal pH). It can get degraded at lower pH. Hence do not mix chemical exfoliators with it. You may apply niacinamide after a minimum gap of 2hrs (after exfoliation.) well, its better not to add actives right after exfoliation, .Just come behind with good moisturisers and help strengthen your skin barrier. hope this helps. 💛
Thank you so much for this video. :) Please do OILS for treatments?? I been wanting to try ROSEHIP OIL from THE ORDINARY. I have tried Rosehip from other brands that has fragrances in it and when stopped using, it made my pigmentation dark again. First I wanted to thank you for all the amazing video's you post for skin of color!!
So I have been trying to find more information about clove and it's benefits, but couldn't really find any good studies.
What is your opinion on using clove oil on sensitive acne prone skin?
I would love to hear from you!!
Thank you :)
Hey Dr. V!!! There’s this Ascorbyl acid 10 + Alpha Arbutin 2% from the ordinary. Can it be used instead of magnesium ascorbyl phosphate and Alpha Arbutin 2% (in combination)? Both these products are out of stock and this one seemed to have similar acids put in 1. Please please please help me choose
Yes, you can use that one, only don't combine it with niacinamide same dat. If you use niacinamide, do it in alterned days.
Greettings!
Try PaulasChoice brand its similar to ordinary.
She has actually recommended this one in a past video. The eye circle one i believe. Its a nice affordable one
I had the same question. I hope she answers this.
She recommended the vitamin c derivative which was the Ordinary Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% 30ml
Is coconut oil not good?? I’ve been using it as a moisturizer for the dry portions of my face (cheeks and neck) forever, and it’s worked great for me!
Pls pls make a video about mild indented scars on the face, and keloid scar after caesarian section! 🙏 thanks.
As always well delivered, l love your principled character" my videoes will never be sponsered "🤗🇿🇦
Hi Dr V. What body sunscreens would you recommend ? I feel like most people only focus on facial sunscreens. Your thoughts would be very appreciated! Thank you 😊
The vast majority are chemical
@@vanitarattan this is what I am struggling with. The only true mineral body sunscreen I can find for a reasonable price in UK is Aloe Pura.
So happy to have watched this. I bought the facial cleanser and moisturizer from Tatcha which is very expensive and was disappointed that i had a reaction to it.
The lavender scent was a dead giveaway that i really needed to check the ingredients. You are right!!
Yeaaay, so excited about this video! Dr V, are nano particles as effective as normal sized particles of zinc oxide and titanium dioxide in sunscreens, in blocking UV and visible light? Thank you so much for your work! 😘
Shes talked about it, said no. The smaller the less protection you get. For soc, she recommends larger particle zinc is best to help with pigmentation
@@hithere8140 thank you! Apparently I didn't pay attention well enough so I'm grateful that you're helping me out! ❤️
Thank you for sharing your priceless knowledge, its greatly appreciated......what's your thoughts on palm oil ?
Dr.V - Can you do a “day in the life of Dr.V” video - how you care for your skin from AM, then makeup and sunscreen reapplying every 2hrs to PM and taking it all off with nighttime routine. It will be good to see how you manage to reapply sunscreen every 2hrs even when you have a busy day and how you manage to look presentable with sunscreen on top of makeup???? Thanks!!
Did you watch my holiday vlog?
Yes .. i watched
Dr. Vanita Rattan The Hyperpigmentation Clinic Yes I did. But would like a Vlog on a normal work day - how you reapply sunscreen regularly over makeup :). Thanks!!

Yes. Please do the video on how you double moisturize and how you triple hydrate. I would like to hear about both.

Please Dr can you do a video on hormonal acne? I keep getting breakouts which are filled with puss, weather I squeeze the zits of not they still lead to dark marks and scars and though i have very dry skin
Hi ... Love your videos ...❤️
What is your opinion on KumKumadi Thailam oil or Saffron oil ?
Any opinions on the Kama Ayurveda KumKumadi Oil is particular?
She did not mention benefits of everyone’s favourite rosehip oil 😏
I was waiting for this video since long
Me too was waiting till last
However, she did mention that "rosehip oil is very good for your skin" as opposed to rose oil. At around 6:54 or so.
She said Rosehip oil is great whereas rose oil is not.
@@shilpa7365 rosehip oil is great and she has recommended it but I am curious to know if rose water in skin products is suitable for skin of colors
Me too
Love this video. Could you please do a video on shea butter. Also would you recommend mixing whipped shea butter and Argan oil as a moisturizer?
Also, which would you recommend squalene or squalene oil? Thank you.
Dr. V I love the way u explain everything it makes it so easier to understand
Thanks Dr. V!
¿Which of the oils you mentioned as good for the skin are also non-comedogenic and/or good for combination skin?
Could you please recommend face masks or DIY masks for skin of colour 🙏
DR.V YOU ARE THE BEST SAVED MY SKIN AND GIVE NATURAL ALTERNATIVES I TRY TO STAY FROM TOO MUCH CHEMICALS HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT SHEA BUTTER AS A SECOND LAYER AFTER MOISTURIZER

What of palmkernel oil , or palm oil . What is your take on using oils in Africa where the seasons are different and we are most often using the air conditioner all through the day and also exposed to the sunlight more hours in the day , 365 days in the year
Glad I found you Dr. V 🥺, thank you so much 🙏🏾.

Hi Dr.V, can we use paula's choice exfoliator and niacinamide from ordinary together? Thank you ❤💛🧡
pls answer!!!!
Niacinamide is most stable and effective at a pH of 5.5-6.(skins normal pH). It can get degraded at lower pH. Hence do not mix chemical exfoliators with it. You may apply niacinamide after a minimum gap of 2hrs (after exfoliation.)
well, its better not to add actives right after exfoliation, .Just come behind with good moisturisers and help strengthen your skin barrier.
hope this helps. 💛
@@ReethuVincy22444422 Thanks a lot ❤😊
Use niacinamide in the morning and the BHA at night.
@@afrakoma_a Thank you 😘 But, Dr.V said that we shouldn't use actives on morning... 😔 (sorry for my english, Im a french speaker)
Hi Dr. V! I love your channel. Are the peanut, grape seed, etc. the same that we find in the kitchen aisle at the grocery store?
7:54 Dr. V, I think it's pronounced "ho-ho-ba" oil 😃.
😅
I just learned that today.thank you😊
No it’s “yo yo ba “ 😀
Thank you so much for this video. :)
Please do OILS for treatments?? I been wanting to try ROSEHIP OIL from THE ORDINARY. I have tried Rosehip from other brands that has fragrances in it and when stopped using, it made my pigmentation dark again. PLEASE suggest an oil treatment as last layer to protect the water loss from heat and air conditioning. So we don't need to apply two oils. TIA!
Yes and yes for double moisturizer or triple hydration ❤️
I have used lavender oil and almond oil together for years to treat acne.
What about micro-needling at home?
Could u use these oils as the first step to of double cleanse??? And take it off with warm towel?
I do this every time, pls let me know if it’s ok to do that!!! Thank you so much and I LOVE ur videos!
