Thanks for the video. I now see how to loosen the parking brake to pull the rotor off. You indicate two ways to adjust the tension: the under the dash method and spinning the adjuster wheel through the hole in the rotor. Maybe both approaches are needed under some circumstances?
Im already subscribed. Jst ran across this video. Great video. 👍 I hope u found ur plug. I have OCD, 😁, I would have used brake clean the lubed as much as I could on adjuster/backing plate, & INCLUDING rotor. Thank u for the video.
Hi Martinko Pcik , I was wrong when I said you want it to drag. The repair manual says it's not to drag, but I did what I know. If I were to do it over, I would do as you did and adjust it so it is just about to drag. Thanks for your comment. Happy to show the stuff your going to do before you do it. - Fix That Prius !!!
It looks like you used 2 floor jacks to lift the rear of the car. Why not use the "official" jack point in the center of the rear? You can see it clearly at 4:35 in the video. The jack point has a large perforated hole in the center and smaller perforated holes in a circle around it. It is just front of the spare tire well in this video. Then you only need one jack stand!
That is the spring pocket for the right rear spring. I have not jacked the back of a front-wheel drive car anywhere in the middle since I bent that bar between the wheels on my 1987 Plymouth Sundance. A real heartbreaker. Hope that saves you a few bucks. - Fix That Prius !!!

This is the parking brake and not the Emergency brake?
Hi,
This is both.

I hate that the emergency drum brake is dragging. I can hear it when driving in EV mode. Now I know how to adjust it to shut up. Thanks !

Before you adjust did you dis engage the or off the parking brake button or justt leave it engage/on??
To work on a parking brake, it must be disengaged.
Thanks for the question.

Where did you get your manual. I cannot find any.

LoL like the GreyV
Ffs… now I know why my rear brakes are noisy. I didn’t even know the P-brake was a drum setup. On a vehicle made in ‘12! Unbelievable
How did you know drums had to be adjusted? I have a clicking on my V, but only happens when I brake and turn...
