Looks like we have to remove the egr system in order to get access to this fuel connection point. I'm not seeing how to get the fuel line connection cover off without doing this. Is this correct?

Hi guys..had blender door problem with my prius 1.8 2012..and after much research,i got to solve the problem.to those who read this,pls help me to spread the information as it did saved me alot of money. Im from south east asia and we only have 2 weather seasons..hot..and wet..so most of the info regarding the issues in the web were mostly about winter and summer conditions..in which summer might be relevant to my case. My problem started when i travelled to the highlands with cooler conditons..15 to 17 celcius..regular temp in the low lands usually hovers 30-35 celcius day time. 27-29c at night. With the temp suddenly drop below the regular ac setting of 20 c .. suddenly the blend door opens. Because the door almost never opens..it got stuck..and the problem started when we got to the lowlands. It got hot everytime the ice engine was on.cool air when using the battery. Solution: Set my ac temp to the hottest setting.drove around 5 minutes...stop the car..shut it down..5 minutes..and start back up. The stuck door shuts.problem solved. Hopes this helps.

I saw some other guy talking about calibrating the ECU for a gen four. Do you have any thoughts on what might be causing the mpg drop? Thank for the feedback,

I have no issues having the thermostat open when you pull a vacuum by using a vacuum coolant refiller with an air compressor :) use something like an Airlift or AirLife II makes life easier so you have no air pockets..

I guess that's what happened to my 2011 Prius engine at 186k last night. Haven't opened to see the inside yet. It happened without any warning. Perfectly and silently running engine started to vibrate violently with a loud knock. I would not expect from a Toyota engine this early. Used Mobil 1 synthetic since I got it.

Update: NEVER SET A FOOT IN DEALERSHIP!!! i had intermittent sporadic random overheating accompanied with a burst of coolant over the overflow on the plastic tank. toyota dealers convinced me that they looked inside the cylinder with a boro scope and there was coolant seeping tru. FVCK THAT SH!T!!!. Just received all parts, took off the head... GUESS WHAT!!!!! My gasket is perfectly OK! I am so mad at these fake specialists in toyota. they thought that they can get me leave the car for "repair" for 3,600 plus taxes and everything FVCK TOYOTA!!!! FVCK ALL THESE "professionals". i believe that all my problems were with jammed egr and specifically the heat exchanger. I soaked it in oven cleaner, then boiled it on bonfire with water 4-5 times until water comes out clean. This is the single most important lesson for me. and perhaps to you guys!!!! I HATE PROFESSIONALS AND I DONT TRUST THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, the fly-wheel and dampene. 1- What would happen if the center changed location? 2- If I buy a new piece, how do I know the center point is in the correct place and does it require special tools?

It has to get to 220 for the thermostat to open. It helps to heat up the engine during first start, but unfortunately makes bleeding a pain. Back in the day we would use 3 aspirins to keep the thermostat open, it would dissolve by itself while giving time for the air to escape.

please help. prius 2012. random sporadic irreproducible engine overheating. typically, just a short flash of red T warning, accompanied with a splash of coolant out of the overflow tank. splash may be so big that coolant ends up on pass side doors. changed pump, thermostat, temperature sensor. appeared at the time to solve problem, then problem comes again. it was always sporadic. all this happened with NO check engine light and code. some ppl blame on clogged egr valve. took apart the intake manifold, yes, there was some dirt, but not terrible. finally, i got an innova 3130lat and autel mk808bt pro and checked the codes. now i have codes. one of them is P261C "pump B" thing. <can anyone explain what is pump B, and what A???> set autel to watch the temperature and the pump revolutions. short test drive. T reached 100 degC <just short of boiling> and the pump never moved. target speed was always 0 rpm. I am aware about rotor jammed, and no, my rotor was new when i installed it 4 months ago. the problem seems that the computer does not care that temperature is 100 and does not set target speed.................. what do i need: a new ecu? or reset -- reprogram the computer? <pressure test of the coolant system is ok. no exhaust gases in the coolant. engine cylinders pressure test is ok. oil is clean, no coolant in oil. coolant is pink and clean, no oil in coolant>

No codes, heat works but heats slowly. I have new pump new thermostat, new head gasket new coolant that has been blead.takes about 15 min to get the air to heat up on max setting. Also, when the air is blowing hot finally, when I turn on the ac button but still keep heat on high, the air becomes room temperature. I cant figure it out.

I am thinking to swap 3rd gen (300k miles, blown head gasket, leaking cylinder) with either low miles JDM 3rd gen or low mile JDM 4th gen for 2010 Prius. Pricewise 4th gen engine costs about $400 more. Which option do you recommend? And why? How did you lift the engine? Did you use engine lift? Is it doable project for unexperienced people? Thanks

The v has coolant flow to the transaxle as I understand it from a Weber State video. Is that flow from the engine water pump or the inverter water pump?

Could use some help. Just finished my jdm gen4 swap in my 3rd gen. So jiggle pin is cut, i believe we have the coolant routing correct. Have a kind of gurgling sound and also liquid coming out of exhaust. Fans havent come on when it idles anywhere from 180-206 F. I shut car off when it hit 206.
