Thank you, you saved me from making a mistake!!!
No worries, glad I could help!
have you tested any other superwides the most appealing thing about this is its physical dimensions are not to bulky the samsung g9 seems very very fat and bulky and just wouldent sit on my desk nice at all
Indeed I have, see the description.
Hi There, would you recommend this screen predominantly for office use? How does the text look like, is it crisp? I use MS Office, PowerBI, and other windows applications, and do gaming once or twice a month on weekends. Looking to upgrade from my 27" Dual Monitor Setup. Appreciate your input.
No issues in terms of clarity, but did you watch the video?
@@TotallydubbedHD Yes, i did.. the sections image clarity and brightness balance didn’t touch the area of my concern (text readability/quality), hence the query. Thank you for your answer. Cheers
Is this 4K? For gaming
Unable to decide which to buy between the one you are reviewing and the below:
Philips 44.5in QHD Dual W-LED VA 75Hz Adaptive Sync SuperWide Curved Business Monitor with Webcam (45B1U6900CH)
Later has a webcam, and headphone holder, however, it has only 75Hz, so I am not sure if it is going to perform not good with gaming.
My priority is work, productivity, occasional content creation and occasional gaming.
Not tried the other so can't comment.
I am waiting for the Samsung ARK 55
I have tried to overclock this monitor to 165hz and it only stays at 120hz in settings. Even when I do try to overclock it, the coloring and screen becomes fuzzy. How can I overclock it in the right way?
Might be how you are connected?
How about black smearing ?
VA panels are infamous about black smearing, did u experience that anomaly ?
Didn't experience anything overly abnormal, or else it would have been mentioned in the video!
@@TotallydubbedHD I did buy the PHILIPS 498P9Z @165hz & it's a perfect match for my needs. Mostly work + light gaming.
No Dark Smearing, No Flicker etc.
Although it's a VA Panel it's not behaving like one. Maybe it's an improved VA model, idk.
Tested with all monitor tests & tried scrolling white text on black background (dark mode) at various speeds and surprisingly there's NO Black Smearing at all.
Text always stays clear.
Price / Performance is very good. If u need a 49" behemoth, I do strongly recommend the PHILIPS 498P9Z
PS: My GPU is a XFX RX 6700XT so I've no idea about nVidia performance.
With this setup, I get 66 FPS in SOTTR @ High/Ultra (mixed) settings. I was thinking of buying the RX 7900 XT but I'm OK with 66 FPS in this resolution (5120 x 1440) for now.
So, I can wait for the discounts and then get the RX 7900 XT as the final touch.
Daily use is buttery smooth @ 165hz👍
Would you recommend it for the same price as the AOC?
Hmm, I'd probably still pick the AOC
@@TotallydubbedHD thank you. Just another question. Do you think it is worth pay 100€ more for the g9? My biggest question is if the curve isnt too aggressive for productivity.
@@tiagoantunes2481 that's really subjective, in terms of the curve. As for the G9 itself, would suggest checking my review. I think it's among the best super UWs on the market
Can you display 2 simultaneous sources in a split screen mode?
From memory, yes, that's PBP mode - in fact, it's covered in the video! Check the manual for more info.
Hi there, would I be able to run this with a GTX 1080? Thanks
Run, probably?
it's actually quit unimpressive, ... for something above 1000€, ... I wish they would do 5120*1600 (32:10) for that price.
Also, how can you switch KVM between 2 sources/pc at 165hz ? if there is only one DP1.4 input for the 165Hz ?
=> You probably can't, and your second source is by design limited to HDMI 2.0 / 75Hz at best.
=> => a bit lame But it 'd be quite sufficient for the NUC Linux App/container Servers I foresee to switch there.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
can i see hdr? im 57 i bet i dont or cant
Yes you can, it's brightness and better dynamic range haha!
has RGB or BGR?
As far as I'm aware, RGB
@@TotallydubbedHD give color profile measurement
Do you like ultra wide monitors
What is your experience
My monitor of choice is a flat 27" 1440p monitor :)
@@TotallydubbedHD Which exact monitor?
@@WholesomeGreek this long-discontinued IPS: ua-cam.com/video/tV9vGDcSqTo/v-deo.html
@@TotallydubbedHD I agree 💯
I actually thought it was a photoshop In the thumbnail!! It's a bit silly, no?
Using it instead of dual screens is pretty sick tho
Haha, it is though :D
Not big enough for me 😂
:O
That's what she said.
