To my knowledge, live streaming isn't as profitable as regular videos or as important as shorts. Unfortunately there is no need for them to rush development on a relatively unlucrative, unimportant feature

Yes, this is why I don't watch YT streams. The chats are a mess, and a chat has to be pretty dead for a YTer to be able to read it.
On Twitch you can have convos within chat, I've made actual friends that way, but YT is a fucking mess rn.
Gonna be direct here, I personally don't enjoy watching livestreams anymore for the day-to-day stream. I enjoy watching the refined videos made from those livestreams. However, your event livestreams are things I plan for. I plan to watch your events live because I think they're dope. I'll tune in to watch the event livestreams, and I'm sure there are plenty of people like me who will do so. I support what you're doing Lud, keep up the great work.

I never watch Twitch. I never watched him before UA-cam.
Twitch kinda sucks. No pause, no rewind. On UA-cam you can start from the beginning of a stream while the stream is live. UA-cam chat kinda sucks without a bunch of addons though.

i don't think they are that worried about lose out on livestream right now but they might lose out to tik tok in the long run , so i don't think they are that worried about him livestreaming his events on twitch.

I was actually expecting this to be what he decided to do. However, I assumed he’d do it by just not signing a contract with either of them.
It’s legit impressive he talked UA-cam into allowing him to do this.
Even though I’d prefer him to stay on UA-cam exclusively. I just think UA-cam is massively better from a viewers POV….e.g. I can rewind the stream while live, and they don’t run 8-12 ads, all at once, multiple times during a stream.
@Dranka5 that's like the only good things about UA-cam streaming, other than that, it's dogshit, because UA-cam wasn't made for streaming, they don't put any real effort into making it better, so it's always going to be the same, can't actually see who's streaming, no notifications for streams, the ui is awful to look at, overall, it's terrible compared to Twitch, even if the vods get instantly uploaded to the channel, even if you can rewind the current live stream, even if there are no ads, it's just not good for streaming

I find it really endearing that both Lud and QT have such a drive for event planning and making. You both end up making really cool, very fun events and streams.
Cool to see UA-cam’s flexibility with you, really highlights their perceived care for the creator. Though ultimately I guess they would be able to show that better if they had a dedicated team to issues like you described.
So glad he's staying on YT. Despite all of youtubes many problems I appreciate how u can go backwards on a stream and play at 2x to catch up. Also the viewership would be lower no matter the platform, the amongus 2020 era was truly iconic for everyone had time to watch streams unlike now when people have lives to live. He's still doing really well considering

I got a new smart TV about a year ago, and I only recently realized that I never bothered to install twitch, because twitch is such a trash experience on a smart TV. UA-cam streaming definitely isn't perfect as a platform, but at least the software is good
yeah, honestly the rewinding is a deal breaker for me. Both have their problems, but twitch is a pretty garbage experience other than chat and being able to browse streams easily. Thats all they have going for them

Ludwig consistently talks about becoming irrelevant to his viewers, but I feel like he doesn't realize that we are getting older with him. Time will tell, but I think Lud will always have enough viewers to make it worth his time and effort.
I’m 31 so was already “older” when I first started watching him anyways 😅
On average as people get older they have less time to watch live streams.
Im the same age as lud (old.jpeg) so as long as he makes content he likes, I am pretty sure I will too
i feel like youtubers lose their audience faster than streamers. i could be wrong but i've just noticed there's more big streamers that have done it for years now than youtubers who sorta like...fade away or just stop growing their audience at all
@@gina-hp2jo I think there are a lot of youtubers that come and go, but we also see a lot of youtubers that stay on the up. I feel like it's sort of even on both fronts. I also hear of a lot of streamers that fell off or fell into controversy, I personally just think it's easier to get your quick buck off of youtube then it does streaming, so I see lots of channels kind of die down.
Great news. Playing on both teams is the way. That's the wave. Was expecting the announcement btw. Ludwig kinda hinted it during the last Lethal Company game he played offstream some hours back with Tarik, Ryan, Rae etc. and kinda teased it at the end. All the events by you so far have been really fun to watch, looking forward to all that's to come.
On a side note, you were really hilarious on Lethal Company, watching it from Tarik's POV, it was super fun. :)

Probably like half a year ago yes but not now anymore, twitch recently allowed co streaming for basically everyone and they're surprisingly lenient.
I've started to see more streams (and stream archives) in my homepage here on UA-cam recently. I am subscribed to and watch a lot of streamers so the algorithm is finally starting to learn it.
saw the title and got worried id have to go back to being a VOD frog but Im glad I can still lurk.
I'm very happy to hear you're keeping your day-to-day on UA-cam because I need the rewind, pause, and uninterrupted ads. I have a toddler and he needs a lot of attention and there are times I don't get to start your stream until after he goes to bed. I can't do that with Twitch.

As a YT frog I'm glad your bread and butter streams will still be on youtube. The experience between YT and Twitch's player and ads is night and day, especially on mobile and I know I just wouldn't find myself tuning in as much as I did if you were back on twitch.
Otherwise, glad to see you making the decisions that enable you to do what you're most passionate about.
I am deathly a hardcore UA-cam frog for streaming
UA-cam Streaming sucks, I can only ever catch maybe 1 stream every 6 months because UA-cam never tells you when people are streaming unless you're on there 24/7
@@MyNameIsRow01 I find if you enable notifications you'll get a push notification just the same way you would on twitch, and with their scheduling feature you can even plan to tune in more easily.

I know big viewership comes from a younger audience. But, I appreciate how your content had matured with your audience and has been able to remain a cornerstone in the content I consume
I was kinda dreading the idea of having to go back to twitch to watch Ludwig streams again, I feel like despite the flaws that UA-cam has surrounding the livestream space it’s a much easier viewer experience personally.

Yeah, while I generally prefer Twitch for watching livestreams, their mobile app is absolute GARBAGE and UA-cam's is a big improvement.

4:26 While, as always, I love the self awareness and candid thoughts, don't forget that we're growing up with ya. While the main bulk of UA-cam is going to cater to whoever happens to be 13-17 at the time, I'm not really rushing to go find the new generation of content creators. I just enjoy what you're about, and honestly Mogul Mail is much more of an instant watch for me than the Ludwig channel for that reason. Everyone's time passes sooner or later and its great to be cognizant of that, but I hope you don't mix that up with us getting bored of you any time in the future. Been around since what feels like the beginning, and every step has been a joy to ride along with. You make it, I'll watch it. Don't stress about it, its always a vibe tuning in to your stuff.
All that being said, I'm not your fuckin friend. Now go make me more content to watch, public figure.

however there are many exceptions.
if you consider talk show host such as jay leno, conan o brien; or even game show hosts like alex trebek; or even hollywood celebrities such as robert de niro; or music artists such as tupac shakur. whos relevancy extends well beyond their retirement and death itself. legends if you must.
ludwig is more than a streamer/entertainer.
he is an event organizer. his events generates a lot of attention and react content from streamers and tierz lists content as well. it generatez content.
he is an org owner.
he is an investor (esports).
and he has (good) clout.
and he (and many like him) are doing all of this in the brand new industries of livestreaming entertainment/gaming and esports.

and if it be that he loses relevancy in 1 field then he have many others holdin up his fame.
in conclusion, i truly do not believe ludwigs relevancy will be threatened any time soon due to his solid grounding in the industry, his clout, and his ability to stay on top of trends.

This is great! Always struggled to get accustomed to Twitch so I loved it when Ludwig switched to UA-cam so I could pop in on streams every once in awhile in addition to being a UA-cam frog. Happy to see the change in the contract lets him stay near UA-cam while also pursuing his goals.
Was really scared when I saw the title, but glad to see that I'll still be able to catch the streams here on UA-cam!

Duo streams are a good way to go like Charlie has been doing them for awhile and it's nice to have multiple places to watch the streams

Thank you for not going twitch exclusively. I try to watch your streams even tho it usually starts at 1 am here. It's way easier for me to watch on UA-cam than Twitch on my mobile while doing something else.

honestly i think your average viewership has lowered because a lot of people have less time. with the pandemic not being in constant lockdown, people have returned to work, back to life and frankly a lot of people had kids over covid and just don't have time to watch streams anymore. that being said, i think youve done great on youtube and if you do return to twitch, i think you will be just fine.
