The Broodbrothers "Close Combat #1" guy has a loud speaker thing. I think the clamavus has something similar, so I wonder if they can do something similar.
Ooh. You are correct! I missed that. Have a pin.
really appreciate you working all night to give us early morning video.
I try! Thanks!
Cheers, watched it first thing this morning, even before looking at WarCom.
Was a little bit disappointed in Brood Brothers until you showed your next slide and revealed list building.
The AoS Chaos dragon rider looks awesome.
I'm glad for GW doing Dwarfs before Wood Elves because I need to start saving for my Woodies looking the sheer amount of stuff that is re-released for the Dwarfs
Synthwave Patriarch incoming?
Thanks for getting up early to bring the Adepticon reveals to us Mr TI, your positive critique is refreshing.
I wasn't expecting the BroodCoven, but will grudgingly admit that it might make BroodBros interesting.
Definitely makes them interesting! Positivity is underrated (and underewarded) here on youtube, but I do what I can.
I have to admit the Genestealer Cult team looks really good!
I think so too!
if they are including the broodcoven set, then perhaps theyll play like blooded. 10 operatives then either additional troopers or extra-special specialists
hearthkyn trooper #2 looks like he has grenades attached to the sling, so maybe another gunner. might mean the "veteran" is just a trooper
Similar to blooded is a great shout. You could be right about trooper 2, and I think I mentioned the veteran could be a trooper. All very possible.
Absolute legend! This what makes a true hobby hero, thank you and well done for running that gauntlet. As for the reveals... well they were confirmations really. Seeing the models I'm now genuinely interested in the Brood Brothers, including the coven really is fantastic. Those two little familiars? Perhaps equipment for the Magus similar to the Gellerpox Critters. Maybe we need fewer roadmaps and reveals? Distribution issues aside it's sad when Adepticon material feels like yesterday's news lazily phoned in.
Cheers, I try. As far as the leaks go, as far as I am concerned the reveals where still exciting - we might have known what was coming in general terms (though not for underworlds) but seeing what the models look like is surely the main thing! Now, if pictures had leaked I would feel differently. I think the familiars could be equipment. I think GW agrees with you on fewer roadmaps, I don't think GW is going to do that again because they struggle to hard to stick to them. Maybe they will continue to put them out for 40k and AoS but I can't see them laying out another years worth of roadmaps for most games.
I can not wait to pick up the genestealers box, that is gonna be a fun one to run with friends.
I like the models! How fun the rules turn out remains to be seen. I get the impression the Patriarch can only be either really too good or really awful.
Both teams playable as necromunda gangs :)
I'm reliably informed that all models are necromunda models.
I've spoken about wanting footslogging Hernkyn as a KT for almost a year now and here they are!
Vindication is great!
Great work on the slides. Also, i do appreciate that you haven't turned the advertisement spam up to maximum. Makes it much easier to watch.
Glad you like it!
I'm hoping to see someone stack the votann into one big trenchcoat for a sneaky kitbash
I mean if you want two guys in a trenchcoat the underworlds releases have you covered.
Maybe the familiars will be a token placed next to who is being mind controlled?
Could be could be!
Given the 40K bias in GW's fanbase it's unsuprising that some of that group will be massively entitled about their game getting the majority of the atttention.
Yeah.... yeah.
Brood Commissar is a really good suggestion! Maybe also replace Magus with a headswapped Primaris Psyker for more Imperium flair. I like the aesthetic of the updated Brood Brothers, reminds me of ADVENT from Xcom 2. This reminds me of Ashes of Faith when they bundle more than two units in the box, hope it won't be too hard to get.
I can't actually decide if I want to do brood commissar or brood cadian castelan. Both would work. I don't think the Magus needs converting, but you could do. He kind of fits as a regimental advisor looking guy with these strange symbols that the rest of the squad carry anyway. I'm hopeful it will be fairly easy to buy in the same way as Salvation was.
I'm not too familiar with the Astra Militarum range, but after having seen the Castellan I think that's the better looking miniature of the two. But I think I'll go with the Cadian Command Squad, kitbash Primus with the commander and have 4 more bodies for the operatives not shown in the preview (there's a picture on r/killteam showing a demolitionist and a knife dual wielder).
I am cautiously optimistic about the Brood Brothers team - the kit looks great & the added minis really amp up the value for a 40K GSC player.
The squats look great. I’m going to have to give them spaghetti western names on the roster.
Sadly, I don’t expect to see them until September at the earliest because I expect the new AoS set to do a number on the factory/warehouse like Leviathan did last year.
The AoS video was well done & really grabbed me. My son is a big fan of the Skaven - hopefully this will be a big range refresh for them.
Warcry & Underworlds left me cold. I’m hoping the BB HH release focused on Mars gives us some Mechanicum units that can proxy well for AdMech/Dark Mechanicum in 40K/KT.
I'm going to be wildly optimistic and suggest that we might see this KT box in June. I hope your son enjoys the skaven. I personally agree about WC and UW. Be interesting to see if we get a whole mechanicum army rather then just the knights, or if they handwave any of the 40k stuff into 30k.
The models in the new KT box look like they would be fun to put together. I'm glad genestealer cult fans will get a budget friendly kill team. Rules wise, I really hope these teams in the new box dont follow the same 10 man kill team template we've seen before. Been there, done that.
I totally agree about the tired 10 man formula with comms, medic, sniper, gunner, demo, etc but at least these have the option to take a patriarch, that might be quite novel.
22:45 I sware the Sylvaneth become a more blatant copy of Rune Quest elves with every release.
If only I know what they looked like. For my money they just look the same as ever.
10:25 There could not be a lower bar than cooler than the existing Votan.
I agree, but we must remember our experience is not universal.
Not sure what people were expecting... the volume of revealed models was pretty standard affair for one of these. Probably a little less impressive than the previous years, especially in regards to the 2 flagship games which saw a grand total of 3 new character models (+2 Warbands and 2 Kill Teams which I expect to be mostly playable in AoS/40k respectively), vs the 4 characters + models from 5 different squad kits (+2 Kill Teams, one of which has no 40k rules) they showed in 2023.
I still think that recently revealed (after the whole trailer leaked online) Darkoath box was supposed to be announced here originally, but it is what it is. Ironically, that would have meant that each year would have ended up being heavier on the AOS front, even with the whole 10th ed 40k announcement last year. Release schedule has just worked out that way.
Broodcoven sprue was from the original "Deathwatch: Overkill" box where GSC and Deathwatch were (re)launched in 40k, way back around 2016. It's the oldest kit in their range now.
I'm a bit sad the Sylvaneth WarCry warband wasn't the Kurnothi one that Adepticon rumour list (which, I'm reliably informed was little more than a compilation of other rumors, with some speculation from roadmaps/rumour engines)... "Tree-Mechs" just don't do all that much for me.
Ironically, that new FEC Underworlds warband would have been more impressive had it released before their whole range refresh... Kind of a sampler of things to come.
I certainly wasn't expecting to see the full launch box for the new edition of AoS, but I was a little surprised that they didn''t show anything. I hope they don't leave us hanging for too long.
Honestly, my only real disappointment here was the lack of updated roadmaps, but I also understand why they didn't have any for most of these games.
I agree with you that the disappointment was overblown. However, there are a large number of people in our community who likely don't watch this channel who take the view "I play 2000 point games of matched play Warhammer 40,000 and nothing else" for those people, there was very little in this announcement.
Great insights, thank you 🙏 I’m very tempted by the kill team box for the first time this season. I like both the teams, especially the hearthkyn, I would love to green stuff some matrix glasses on them! But I’m suppose to be waiting for agents of the imperium….. choices, choices
Do it!
Huh nice idea with the commissar conversion! I still have new unopened commissar model I got from warhammer fest last year…. Could be his time to be used…
I might do the exact same thing for the exact same reason.
Very excited about those votann. Bit miffed we STILL have no preorder date for the night lords.
I echo your sentiments on the format change. Wish we got some closer shots of the minis during the show
I expect Nightmare to go on preorder on Easter Saturday. But a confirm would have been nice.
Absolutely DAMNING that Underworlds was the only one with incorrect leaks. I have to assume because no one cares 😢
More evidence that most leaks come from the book printer, but Underworlds has no book, and the cards are probably printed by another company.
@@TabletopImpulse I mean it has a rulebook!
Unless things have changed it's not bound like any other book GW produce. It's saddle stapled rather then perfect bound, right? I believe that it gets produced in a different place. The two kinds of box they use are also fairly unlike other things, only the Barns and Noble (Blitz bowl et al) bookshelf games use that smaller hard box, I think.
Necromunda may be the inclusion of the outlanders gangs from the the days of yore... Scavvies, Ratskins etc
Could be, but I wouldent hold out too much hope. I think Ratskins are probably viewed as problematic now. Scavvies could be cool.
Re: Ratskins. I remember having exactly this talk with the designer at an open day (2019) where he said a lot of things people took as wry satire in the 90s would cause a social media frenzy now.
No! No plastic Mechanicum! If I had to cope with fiddly resin then so does everyone else 😂
"I do not wish for a better world for anyone. In fact, I want the pain that I feel to be inflicted on others. I want noone to escape."
You guard those gates!
The little Genestealers can't be auto included since they are comming in a different box. I just assume, you can take both in one slot
Incorrect! the characters are included in the boxed set. Just like the Technomancer in the Hirotek circle box - that's why the Kill Team is going to be a good deal!
Great speedy content man!
Thank you I try.
They did KillTeam dirty with this release, and not having Nightmare yet seems like again, what a surprise, mismanagement of releases.
And where is the bespoke Tau Stealth Suit team? Bah...
I think I like this box better then salvation myself, but that is a low bar. I do want to know when Nightmare is coming.
I guess the thing about the GSC kit making ‘nid players happy was just wrong.
I don't know, now that I know it has a massive great Patriarch, I understand a little more about why they might think it would appeal to tyrranid players.
Did they say on stream that the Broodcoven set was included? I got the impression from the article that they would just make those models selectable options, not that it would come packaged with it.
I am like 90% sure they said it was included.
@@TabletopImpulse Weird choice for them to make. I can see people buying more than one set of brood brothers to use in a 40k army, but there's no use for multiples of those characters. Ah, well. Either way I'm most excited to see how they work in KT. (PS see you at NKT easter thing 👍)
Just gone back and watched the video, and yes the Brood Coven kit will be included, you were 100% correct
All three existing GEQ teams start out with 14 guys before you start swapping out cor big guys or artillery. So I assume you start at 14, not 10. Seems plausible to me that Magus and Primus count as 2 picks and Patriarch counts as 4. That would give you three ways to play out the box, with another way to play unlocked by a second box.
I am very excited for both teams.
It could well work like that! The number one thing I want to know about this team is composition rules. I wonder if it works as you say if you will be allowed to have Magus, Primus and Patriarch and two mooks - probably not, but it's interesting to think about. It might be a little frustrating if 14 Brood Brothers turns out to be a really common pick. The extra models are fun!
Thanks for putting in the effort TI. Very complete and informative video. First one I’ve watched this morning, over here in the colonies. Best thing, for me,, was TOW Dwarfs info. Don’t need much, except for The Anvil and the lord on shield bearers, which I sold recently and now are apparently mandatory. Don’t hate the next KT set, but not overly excited either. Don’t like the Warcry set at all. Very, very apprehensive concerning the AoS reset. Probably because the 40k 10th edition reset had such initial problems. Don’t really care for 10th at all and I’m afraid they’ll take AoS in a similar direction. Not really happy about having to wait for new battletomes either. My concern is largely theoretical(?) because I just started collecting AoS models, and largely to use in TOW. But I was considering trying AoS. We’ll have to see about the launch box, once the models are revealed. Thanks again for your great work!
Happy to put effort in where it is appreciated. I would urge an open mind with AoS. Might well be lessons learned from 10th.
thx!
You are very welcome!
"Yaegirs" is probably the worst butchering of the word "Jäger" I have ever seen... 🧐
Very possibly.
30:05 I strongly recomend trying Song instead. 😇
Problem is I allready own a load of AoS minis. :D
For me personally "meh+" 😂. Hope in the rules.
For Kill team, yeah, we will have to see when the rules start to appear - when will that be? 6months? :p
@@TabletopImpulse it looks weird but on article they wrote that this box will be later in this year. IMO it will be last box for season 3 and maybe last box for this edition. Also does it mean that 3 edition will be delay?
I could believe it as the last box.@@user-fg5cn2re5s
Swing and a miss on the Kill Team front for me. I don't find either team aesthetically interesting. I think the Votan are particularly uninspired.
Like I always say, the nice thing about kill team is you don't need to buy everything.
AoS is so much better than 40K now
hmm, be interesting to see what happens with the new edition rules! In terms of models I think they are pretty even.
