After 3 years of emotional torture, and multiple physical assaults - i got out. Towards the end I had resigned to living like that. Just keeping my head down and letting him do and say whatever he wanted. Just keep the peace, even if I'm miserable. I filed for divorce last month. Please don't give up. Don't accept that life. My ex forced me to wear certain stupid outfits every day regardless of the heat & humidity. (Yeah, I was trying to keep the peace) One day early on I was just DYING from the heat in the house so I put on a different shirt. He went ballistic and accused me of just doing whatever I wanted whenever I wanted with no regard for his feelings. That was many years ago and it’s insane thinking about it now, how did I ever let it get to that point? It started out normal.

I’ve developed some passive aggressiveness with them. When I get drunk , it all comes out. I do love them. All I ever did was defend myself and speak up against the lies, by doing that , I was punished and found out , 90% of them are all the same. Took me til I was 40 to realise this

Yup exactly! He would speak to me very little while being standoffish and accept his cold days or i am the bad guy. He ruined our romantic date by chatting it up with waitress who kept asking him about him and then found an excuse to stand in a shadowy room with her to chat with her loudly while i was in a nearbye bathroom. He doesnt want me to chat it up with men even about the business we have but he chats it up with random pretty young women. Every party we go to he ignores me and dont speak to me but flirts with women and if i complain afterwards he say i am clingy and controlling. I have had it and leaving as soon as possible this year.
He actually called the police on me to get me to leave after becoming enraged when I asked him a question. I’d just arrived and was literally in his apartment for under 10 minutes. I thought he was being ridiculous… 10 minutes later police arrived and told me to leave! In my 40+ yrs on this earth, I have NEVER had anyone call the police on me. 🤯. (And, he calls me histrionic 😂)

I had a sadistic malevolent narcissistic step mother. This demon possessed creature appeared in my life when I was 4 yrs old. I did not have a childhood in the traditional sense. I was in survival mode for 17 years. Not surprisingly I have C-PTSD. Saying anything about her crossing boundaries resulted in swift and harsh punishment. I didn't mind ...I only allowed him to take all the control of my life...But he is not happy with me...I selflessly took every care of him when he was undergone an operation....but no use...He is not happy with me....He made me to feel I'm stubborn...I have anger issues.... Because he used abusive languages..... even when we talked normally...not during any argument....when I got irritated,he says "you see, you have such anger issues...you are so proud of yourself". Even to his colleagues he told that I destroyed his life"....when I asked him he said ..he said everything jokingly..and I ' m only too much overreacting...I only have don't have any sense of humour... After a while I gave up trying to fight and I just lived alongside him as silently and unobtrusively as possible so as not to provoke him. 🤔 Although he still never left me alone, there was no end to what he would try in order to provoke a reaction from me. If you are a minor and they are physically abusive to you, your safety is your priority. i would try to do what they say, save up to get a vehicle and move out when you're 18. Hide the money and give them no heads up. If you're an adult, yeah, ignore them.

This is what the Bible was talking about: “lovers of themselves” was the closest term for a narcissist in that day because it’s not about having a healthy self esteem. Lovers of themselves means they treat others with contempt but would never begin to think that they deserve the same treatment they give. “Do unto others as you would have done to you” is definitely not what they want because they know what is right but still demand to be treated better while not treating others fairly. I also see a lot of the older generation picking it up from the younger. it blows my mind. there's not many of the old generation like Queen Elizabeth who would never dream of being so self focused. the bible also warns that children will turn on their parents and parents their children. which makes me worry going no contact is not the right answer. unless we're in physical danger of course. but very clear boundaries are definitely needed. that I'm certain of. My mother actually used those words the other day. She doesn't even hide it anymore.She said she just wants me to bend to her will. She was referring to the fact that i open the curtains so I could see the sky. I sold my house to relocate with my partner but sadly he passed away before we could find our special home and so I had to come back to my country while I finished dealing with everything and I wound up at my mother's. You just couldn't make it up. My childhood is flashing back.
It took me a year to understand this and while learning it was me who suffered mentally.. but Alhumdullillah I'm out of that shit and my mental health is improving. Suffered but learned the lesson 💪

He ruined our romantic date by chatting it up with waitress who kept asking him about him and then found an excuse to stand in a shadowy room with her to chat with her loudly while i was in a nearbye bathroom. He doesnt want me to chat it up with men even about the business we have but he chats it up with random pretty young women. Every party we go to he ignores me and dont speak to me but flirts with women and if i complain afterwards he say i am clingy and controlling. I have had it and leaving as soon as possible this year.

He actually called the police on me to get me to leave after becoming enraged when I asked him a question. I’d just arrived and was literally in his apartment for under 10 minutes. I thought he was being ridiculous… 10 minutes later police arrived and told me to leave!

This summer I got rid of a passive aggressive narcissistic friend when he came visiting me, mocking me and my past, then asked for my phone number to go to the pub for a drink. I flat out told him no. This is a guy who has disdain, derides, and is jealous and discourages me when I am dating a pretty woman by saying 'she is too pretty, she is out of your league' or 'she is too rich for you'.

Its to plant doubt into me, to erode my self assurance, so that I will become insecure of myself. So that he insidiously wants me to become dependant on his opinions for friendship. He lost many oppurtunities of me setting him up with pretty single female friends of my girlfriends, just because of his frequent discouraging comments.
During psychotherapy regarding work environment, narcissitic mother and friends, I was told to write why I was being humiliated after doing a cognitive distortion list. I come down to this 👉 How do you break down a person? You discredit them then you shame them. Then a verse from Proverbs 18:3 👉 When wicked comes, then comes also contempt, and with ignominy reproach.
All of this is to make us useless and to have control over us.
Dont do anything what they tell you and completely ignore them.

If you are a minor and they are physically abusive to you, your safety is your priority. i would try to do what they say, save up to get a vehicle and move out when you're 18. Hide the money and give them no heads up. If you're an adult, yeah, ignore them.
