Who knew that after pouring the water over the coffee, you leave it to steep & then stir it.
Now my coffees taste so much better.
I always used to stir it straight away, thus ruining the taste of my Americanos.

I was watching a video on how to use the moka pot and the Italian lady said that once the coffee machine has made it you must stir it before pouring. Apparently the first bit is much stronger. So you blend it with the last bit

I’d call that a strong French Press, definitely not an espresso. But, if you like it, that’s great.

The foam is the coffee bloom. You are extracting all the amazing oils of the bean without being robbed by the paper filter. And yes anything after 3 minutes it does get bitter. I have also experimented for 2 years or more making coffee all different ways without a coffee maker. Also read up on the subject extensively. I've put coffee and brown sugar in a handkerchief and steeped it all around comes out amazing! I've thrown the grounds right into the hot water off boil of course and then strained it off. One can learn a lot through experimentation.

Ahh coffee bloom ❤️. I’d never thought of the oils that are lost through a paper filter. Yes 3 minutes seems to be the point of bitterness. It’s neat what you can learn through experimentation. Do you ever use a moka pot?

@@Dairyfreeginger I experiment a lot. The oils are essential. But so finicky. Because I think the old oil goes a little rancid. So it's a constant juggle with time.
      Everything is a bit ephemeral.
      The golidocks thing
Like stewed tea after 6 minutes
Tea water must be 100 percent hot.

It can not be considered as espresso because the recipe does not considering pressure. Yes, it's espresso-style just because probably taste is super-concentrated, but the whole idea of espresso is using high pressures to make a beverage.

    Joking.
I like the double walled drinking cup.
The good cup of coffee is quite a ritual.
    Similarly a Japanese tea ceremony.
Pre heating is a good factor.
I live in Herefordshire where the water is disgusting and hard.
So much depends on good water
Our kettles get a load of lime fur/scale.
I noticed that up in Scotland the kettle get a black fur /scale from the soft peaty water.
The same water that makes the best whiskey.
    Nice video.
