This is like a love letter to the artists and programmers who worked on the game. We need more videos like this, so good.
We have reached the point where hardware isn't the limiting factor for videogame depth
its all about creative freedom, development time, and optimisation
Honestly you captured my feelings about this game. The whole series has a special place in heart tbh. Also this is unreal engine 3??? Wtf i thought it was at least 4
This channel is a diamond. One of the best I've seen in a while on UA-cam. The videos are so tastefully made - a rarity in our time.
Your channel seems to be gaining momentum. You're killing it dude, keep up the amazing content
Came here for the Cyberpunk ads video, stayed here for the rest
@@walterh2113Same!
I am such a huge fan of videos like this. Breaking down the technical achievements of games. Showing off things that make them great. I eat content like this up and am subscribing so I don’t miss any more in the future. Keep it up!
there is no way this has only 900 views. keep up your work man you will definitely make it big
9:03 super-suit or not, this 50ft+ ejecto-seato would definitely pulverize his spine
I love the batman univers I recently saw that a game about batman had came out in 2015 but I didn't imagined it being like this at all, the fact that this was made using UE3 is incredible, I just discovered your channel and it's icnredible keep it up I want to see more of this !
Man, With level of quality detailed video essay like videos. You deserve a lot more than you have. Hope you get more recognition! Keep it up!
I would love videos on those other games without equal. You have great style and talking points and the algorithm somewhat favours you. I wish you luck on your UA-cam endeavour, you deserve it.
This is true. I didn't notice all the details, but it's one of my favorite games.
Fantastic video ❤
You are my newfound games journalism gem of a channel. I love your writing on these features ❤
The best game I ever played.
The game that keeps on giving.
Rocksteady's Masterpiece!
Great video. And been watching/sharing your others.
One small thing though is the brake pads you are referring to are actually brake rotors.
Rotors rotate around an axis, while pads are stationary.
Arguably the braking on the batmobile would be insane as it has two sets of brake pads per wheel. Which would result in a higher chance of locking up the wheels and putting you into a sliding condition. BUT. It's also a game lol.
Thanks for the correction. I should have said rotor. Learn something new every day!
@@AdamSrayi No worries bro, I understand it's not possible for everyone to know everything. You should consider setting up a Patreon for those who like supporting stuff like this.
Batman Arkham series is easily the best super hero game series ever made by humans
Arkham Knight feels like every single person working on it was the best in the business, on fire, on 700 grams of cocaine and absolutely autistic attention to detail.
And I think the exquisite bumb mapping does a lot of the heavy lifting here with the visuals. Like remember how AMAZING Darkness 1 or even Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory look to this day? Largely due to the bumb mapping. Sure, it makes everything look "wet", which I've never seen it as being. Bump mapping is just what textures are supposed to represent: Light bounching off and being reflected off a surface. There is no "texture", it's just extremely small shadows being cast on a surface, with different colors.
And honestly, that's probably the trick that will make any game look amazing: Colored bump mapping. I don't think it's that doable without ray tracing (I dunno anything about rendering).
Good vid bro
Absolutely hooked me with this video, you have set the bar very high for documenting such technical achievements. Awesome stuff
Another thing about this game that I've always been blown away by is the cloth physics. The clothes of the main characters (I'm not including random NPCs/enemies) all move naturally against the character models without ever clipping, even on the consoles. It was a feature in Arkham City on the PC, but not the consoles if I'm not mistaken.
The programmers and artists who worked on this game are extraordinarily talented.
Your videos are such great quality. I'm proud that I found you this early on
Incredible video, always good to see this game getting some positive recognition. When it came out, it seemed like everyone just hated it for not being arkham city but it really was a gem. A video similar to this about the Dishonored 2 levels would make me entire year
such a good video
This channel is a hidden gem
Love your quality topics. But also feels like you're talking to gamers and non-gamers and it feels just right.
11:51 the only other game that i have seen do this is ghostwrire Tokyo!
On what PC did you played this game ? Do you have a 4090 or something ? Your screenshots look so good
Thank you! I have a gaming laptop. Legion 7 with a 3080. Great little machine
agreed, this game is so well made its insane
I adore the atmosphere of this game. Personally the only thing that differentiates this game from a truly modern one is the animation of side characters, an area that modern games are barely starting to get better at. Either way if this game released TODAY people would be impressed.
so this is basically a 17 minute long essay on why the pc port of arkham knight being so poorly made is a crime
levebdsry
unreal engine feels like a joke since arkham knight
