Most of the woman in my Family wear their hair straightened and not natural. I'm only partially Dominican and I always get to hear from them that I should be happy having a 'European' hair texture, aka, soft waves and fine shiny hair. I wish woman would embrace their thick curly hair more because it looks beautiful. That model just looks gorgeous with natural hair and make up.

As a dominican, this is entirely incorrect. Most dominicans will do anything to get straight hair. Most go to the salon (beauty paler) at least once a week. Most have never been proud of their african heritage and the more you look like our euro heritage the better. I'm not saying its a good thing, but it's the sad reality of my country.

the average Dominicans are mix meaning they come in all shades the minority are black and white Dominicans can have any type of texture from straight to wavy to curly or even kinky if you go to nyc or Boston you will be amaze to see Dominicans that are white as snow Dominicans that are light skin with brown hair Dominicans that are black Dominicans that looks arabic or indian I have met Dominicans that look guyanese you cant tell who is Dominican since Dominicans looks are really diverse

The 40s does not apply to the Dominican fashion at the time..... 2016 does not apply to the majority of Dominican woman, is not the style that everybody use... Thumbs up for 10 to 30s and 50s to 80s... didn't like the 40s.... You can find curly hair, straight and wavy hair in DR, we have different types of hair...but this model is beautiful!..
