How about a video where are the best places to get these types of foods. I heard Villa Mella is the best place to get chicharron. Is this true?
Yes, Villa Mella has been known for the best Chicharron. But you can find good chicharron in other areas also. In regard to places to find this food, you can go to any Dominican restaurant and they will many of these foods.
The process of all these food, how's it's made

Mi familia es de Mexico 🇲🇽 y queremos ir a visitar la República Dominicana pero no queremos ir sin educarnos de la comida y cultura y todas estas comidas se miran muy deliciosas! I definitely can’t wait to visit this beautiful Country!🇩🇴
Si nuestra comida es poco diferente pero es muy delicioso como la de ustedes. Pero aqui no son picantes para cocinar. Espero que visiten pronto y que disfruten nuestro pais.
I'm so very proud be Dominican Republic 🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴
👍👍.
I love being dominican
100% proud to be a Dominican too❤🇩🇴.
The history of the PASTELON began in New York City. When Puerto Ricans and Italians lived among each other in New York City and Puerto Ricans were introduced to the Lasagna. Puerto Ricans made a lasagna with MADUROS instead of pasta and then brought it to the Island when they returned.
Thanks for sharing.
As an American Dominican, I stannnn this video🇩🇴🇺🇸
Thank you ❤️🤗😊
MANGU :
Boiled mashed plantains can be traced back to Africans in the Congo region who were brought to the island during the slave trade. The original word was something akin to "mangusi" and referred to almost any root vegetable that was boiled and mashed.[2]
Fu-fu is a dish brought over by African slaves into the Caribbean and parts of Latin America. Before cassava was introduced plantains and yams where boiled and mashed with milk, butter and the water it was boiled in. Today this dish goes by mangú in the Dominican Republic, fu-fu de platanó in Cuba and Panama, hudut in Belize, bolón in Ecuador, eto in Ghanaian, cayeye and cabeza de gato in Colombia.
The most likely explanation is that this is a word of African origins[3], as there is no contemporary evidence of an American origin for the word.
Thanks for clarifying the origin of the name.
Well I have read and heard that mangú words was created after american soldiers were in the DR during american invasion between 1916-1924, when they tried the mashed plantains they said " man this is good, and because of DR is not a English speaker country they understood mangú that that was that dish name after that.
Dominican roots are the best

LOL "man this is good" no way, I love it
Mangu, DELICIOUS
😋😋
I'm an Indian who loves cooking and my girl (Dominican) likes a lot of the food. For me, I feel personally the ingredients are very similar but the preparation is extremely different. I like a lot of flavor in my food so I'm not sure if she would like it but I realized that the Dominican food is similar just without the immense flavor of a lot of spices that gives a spice kick but flavor as well. Hopefully she likes it but lets see, the blandness isn't usually what I enjoy but Dominican food hits the spot when you are hungry. But daily foods it may be extremely hard so hopefully we can adjust to the differences and hopefully she enjoys the additional spice and flavor.
Yes we don't use a lot spices on the foods. We use a lot of sazon and Adobe Seasoning then onion, garlic, and oregano. Are typically the basic.
@trapbois4573 Really glad to hear about an Indian who appreciates our culture & women & doesn't discriminate us. Always loved seeing other Hispanics, Europeans & Asians mixing with our people. A lot of our culture is actually from Asia, specifically from South & Southeast Asia (many spices, plantains, rice, guandules, etc.). The FIRST people to fry plantains were actually Indians, I believe from present-day Kerala, if I’m not mistaken. Blacks constantly steal the cultures of others, like how they stole plantains which are actually native to Southeast Asia, & were introduced to them by Berbers/Arabs (North & East African regions) then by the Spanish & Portuguese (West & Central African regions).
We are often attacked by Black Anglos because they believe our culture is an offshoot of Haiti’s culture, when it’s actually the other way around. We predate them 269 years, the entire island was originally ours. Whenever we speak the truth or refuse to identify racially as Black (MOST Dominicans at 45% are triracial, aka Pardos/Índios, 18% are White & 2% are Mestizo), they call us “racists” & say a bunch of nonsensical bullsh*t.
Anyways, really glad to hear of an Indian with one of our own. Hope everything’s going awesome with your relationship & that she can teach you a lot more about our culture & you can teach her more about yours, especially Indian seasoning🙏🏽🇩🇴❤️🇮🇳
You got me hungry lol.love Dominican foods and 🍸
😋
Thanks Norberis, Mangu is one of my favorite!
Mine too!
Wow you read my mind. I just was asking others what's some Dominican food I need to try. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, you should.
All of this food looks good
I am Cuban and we have all this dishes in Cuba we just call them a different thing
Yes, most Caribbean foods are the same but have different ways to prepare it.
Sancocho is the best
Yes it is. One of my favorites😋
Awesome video to watch before my trip in August. Going to try some new dishes.
Yes, make sure you try Sancocho, Pastelon de platano maduro, and dulce coco tierno.
Im going back on July 30th Mamá. I’m In those Santo Domingo streets.... then Boca Chica residente. Gotta have that pescar
That's the good. I hear its good fishing in Boca Chica.
Very nice video Norberiis, good to see how your culture is with good food !
Thank you!
Yaroa 🤔 interesting
I remember some of these dishes. But some I have never heard of before. My family is from Barahona
Your family should know of all of them if they live in Barahona.
@@NorberisR They do, but never shared it with me.
Hi Norberky we one thing in common, Amamos las arepitas de yuca.
si🇩🇴🇩🇴❤😊.
I’m from a campo of Santiago called Sajoma, I’ve never heard of Chan Chan or Chaca but I would like to try. You forgot to mention the tres leches, buñuelos, panesico and avena.
Chaca and Chen Chen as I mentioned is very popular in the south. For mentioned all the delicious food in DR the video would have been an hour.
Sedapnya..😃
From, 🇲🇾
me encantan el mori sonando !!!! :)
Yo tambien🇩🇴
Monfongo is also from Africa.❤
@Lindamorena wrong….. “mofongo” as it’s known (el mofongo de plátano), originated in Puerto Rico & is generally enjoyed in PR, the DR & Cuba. Only the cooking preparation originated from the African continent (specifically West Africa), but mofongo itself was first elaborated in the Caribbean region of the Americas: in Puerto Rico. Plátanos weren’t even abundant in W. Africa nor are they nativars of the region.
Same story with tostones & mangú. Just the cooking style of smashing fried or boiled fruits/vegetables is from Sub-Saharan Africa.
De lo mío 🇩🇴💚
I'm just going to give your video to my Reina, and tell her to just make them for me a little at a time lol...Fun and enjoyable video, very informative! #Hotep
I can tell your reina will be very busy(-:
@@NorberisR :-)
Its amazing how much you covered in 15 minutes. I've been going to DR for 15 years and I have not even had half of it. Everything looks delicious, I cant wait to try the rest. Thanks for the fine presentation.
You're welcomed. Glad it was helpful! Now you see what you've been missing. Next time you are there let me know which food you like the most.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Another great video Noberis, gracias!!
Gracias.
I just discovered you Norberis and already you're a legend in my eyes 👏. Thank you making a well informed video on our culinary.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it ❤️🇩🇴🤗
Love norbreis keep it up
Thank you.
Thank you for the video
You're welcomed.
Pastelón my favorite food from Dominican republic nothing is better then it. My mom always make it in party's I'm mostly the one who eats it more than anyone but sometimes I don't eat more because sometimes we there's to much people I don't get how much I even want. I love it because the chicken and cheese that my mom puts is the best thing ever I even like mash platano Maduro only sometimes if it's good for me.
😅Yes I understand what you are saying, pastelon is one of my favorites dish too😋👍.
That black rice reminds me of the Haitian black rice
Never had that type of food before but it looks delicious and I got to try it but where in Florida.
In Miami you should be able to find these types of food in Allapatah. There are 2 places Amerilis and Dominican Tipico that I know sell authentic Dominican food. I've only tried Amerilis.
Chaca is my favorite!
I like your cooking
Thank you😊
Mondongo sounds like chitlins and they come from pig intestines. They take a long time to clean and cook and are so labor-intensive that the presence of Chitlin's. Where's the hot sauce 😎👍🏾🍽🥂🍾
Yes, very similiar. Those smell bad too when you cook them...lol
¡Son tan buenos! 🤗🍽
@G G making me hungry
Coconete=Jamaican Coconut Drops! Wow!!! The islands share a lot of similarities!
Yes we do.
We from the same womb
@@yvettenunez6238no, an ocean between does not make us unique, the same to Puerto Rico. It is a sentimental likely, but not true.
The food in the Dominican Republic is not as good as the Dominican food in the states espically New York I think we have more spice available. Have eaten locally in Puerto Plata and Cabarete . Got to say that some of the food you mentioned is not available at all locations in NYC and in the restaurants I have visited in the Dr. the pictures look amazing. ty as always for your awesome context. The foods look amazing !!!
Thank you❤️🇩🇴
I’m just trying too learn to cook from many cultures. I’m juss expanding my cookbook & put out different food on the table for me, my future girlfriend & kids.
Very good way to go. Nice.
Ah yes, I keep confusing mangu with mofongo. I've never had the latter
Wow, that’s amazing so many different countries that the food has got the influence from. The mangu was funny lol. Can’t wait to try these dishes
Yes, be sure to try some of these food when you travel there.
Norberis R. I definitely will do that ☺️
Because all my life I have eaten Mexican food and I never tried Dominican food
Nice🔥🔥
I’m Haitian American and never heard of Chen Chen. Good information! What are your seafood dishes?
Paella is a popular seafood dish and of course our Pescado frito.
@@NorberisR not to mention pescado con coco my favorite 😍
My question is to you is what good restaurant in the Dominican republic serves all of these dishes. Thank you!
Lol...i dont think there is one restaurant that sells all this food. But you can find many restaurants where some of this food is being served.
Every time I go to DR, I come back 15 pounds heavier :)
😂😂 because you are eating to good and to much and you can't stop I know.
Mondongo is from Spanish origin and its just a renaming of a spanish dish called "callos a la madrileña". Look it up, its literally the same dish.
Thank you, I appreciate that.
Please do a video on how to make Jaroa and some of the street food like lambik, rickie tacis ok 👌 it's in this video I made the comment before I finish the video need the rickie tackies though 😆
Lol...ok. I will.
I tried Sancocho it was more bone than meat after that i havent eat any meat or chikcen anymore in the DR only the delicious fruits and vestables
Sorry to hear that. You had some bad sancocho. All the sancocho I've eaten always has a lot of meat.
@@NorberisR I will try it when i will visit the Dominican again
Some travel vlogger says south American s sometimes look down on the dominicans, is that true and why?
Never heard that before. And there is no reason for them to look down on Dominicans.
Se te olvido el yanikeke
I CANNOT UNDERSTAND THAT YOU DON'T EVEN MENTION FISH ONCE IN YOUR REPORT. PEOPLE DON'T EAT THAT OVER THERE?
ANYWAY, ERES MUY PROFESIONAL EN TU REPORTAJE
Fish is eaten around the world but it's not a traditional Dominican dish. But yes we eat fish.
I had the pleasure of visiting DR with a friend who was born there. Went to amazing beaches and walked everywhere. I do have to say I didn't like the food at all. But that mamajuan is amazing. I found myself going to place to place trying different mamajuan and asking people how they make there's. Everyone had a different recipe. I tried looking for a bar that exclusively sold different mamajuan to buy and try. Unfortunately there is no such thing. I thought it would be a good idea to make a bar dedicated to mamajuan and cigars from DR.
That's a good idea especially in a tourist area. I'm sad that you didn't like the food it makes me wonder who was cooking for you🤣😂
I want my wife to be Dominican ❤️

This is off the subject.. my girlfriend in Santo Domingo have very painful cramp doing that time of the month.. any suggestions for the pain
I recommend taking Advil. Or she get a recommendation from the pharmacy if it too painful.

Is the entertainment in DR good now die to the border reopening?
In the day time in many places its normal but at night it's nothing going on.
@@NorberisR I got it now thanks
