If u shoot long range that reg needs to be pretty darn good. 25-50 yards u may not be able to tell but when u push it out to 100+ the smallest deviation in fps shows on paper.
If that airgun could speak it would say "It's not you it's me." I have German springers that would out shoot that. The patterns were very erratic going from shotgun pattern to groups to shotgun pattern. That gun needs to be tuned or sent back...the 25 yard test should have hinted something was wrong.
I was getting similar results until i put some teflon tape around the end of the barrel to firm it up within the baffles. I believe the slight vibration was affecting my groups. It only was a issue with the 177, 25 was lights out.
IMO a .177 cal on average to about 30 yards max. Yes you can take game farther no doubt but you will not do it cleanly and consistently. Just my opinion.
I respect your opinion . My Gamo springer can shoot a Crosman Ultra Magnum 10.5 grain pellet @ 70 plus yards , very flat shooter . It was chronographed @ 900 fps. Also I believe those twist and turn magazines can damage the pellets making them inaccurate . That what I like about a single load system . Break barrels make the shooter earn every shot while dealing recoil and constantly holding the rifle the same way every time . Thought about buying an Avenge X but changed my , just not a fan of those magazines , but they do come with single adaptor . My Airforce Talon & Condor can also change calibers and are single shot . To each his or her own . My two cents . 😀🙃🤨.
My X Likes the redesigns with selector on low at about 825 fps. 10’s run good at 890-900. Wish the X Would allow lower reg pressures. Fwiw ebay has foam cheek pads/risers. As far as my reg, i set about 100 psi higher than i want. So if my goal is 2100, its set to 2200. It only reaches 2200 first shot after fill or if it sits for a while. During the shooting session it stays around 2100. Overall my 177 setup is not as accurate as my 25. The 25 is lights out. Had it out to 75 on Saturday and could not miss my target .. even when trying to haha.

Thanks Rick, i enjoyed it!
Great info! Umarex Gauntlet 2 or Air Venturi Avenge for my first PCP rifle? Thanks!
Go with the Umarex. My G2 shoots any decent brand pellet out there.

Do you think a heavier pellet would of helped .

I have to jiggle my factory mags first 2-3 shots to get it to load.
Yeah!

I also wish the the regulator could be set lower. The forend could be a bit flatter for shooting off sandbags too.
Zan slugs gamo coyote
IMO the gun is shooting as if thats the wrong pellet for it OR, the barrel is dirty
my old Hw 80 springer would piss all over that thing
Yeah something definitely isn’t right with that gun. It’s not even designed to shoot slugs. But that accuracy is pretty bad. Was hoping for better.
