    Nice video, Rick!
In the past I've put a lot of pellets through each new airgun. This told me which ammo the gun was most accurate with. However, it failed to give me consistent results when it comes to classifying them for power output. Over time, I narrowed the selection of pellets for this test down to those that seemed consistent in the majority of guns. One problem is that you can't get the same make/model/design in every caliber. Thus, I landed on the JSB Hades pellet as they seem to be the only pellet that's the same and available across calibers - no "MK2"; no "redesigned"/"improved", no hunter/match.
I still test every gun with every pellet I have for accuracy. But, for power measurement I only use Hades for FPE.

I keep looking at the RedFires every time I visit the store. I keep putting them off since I already have Predator Polymags, which shoot great in just about anything. I'm just gonna have to finally give in and get them to test. Nice test, Rick. I've Ben watching you from way back.

It's almost like some of those were clipping.
It would have been interesting to see another group with the red fire to see if they grouped again.
I'll be looking forward to the next test.

Thank you. I will get out and shoot the next round of tests soon. It important to see overall consistency, not just one group.

Great job Rick! Thanks for the look at this mid powered Gamo single shot break barrel. I'm surprised Gamo did not send you their newest improved pellets The Gamo AccuTek line of Red Fire pellets or the other 3 AccuTek pellets: the new domed Hunter, the new hollow point Gamo 10X, and the New Rocket pellets? Thanks for sharing.

JTS 16gn or JSB 15.89gn may be a better choice in a low ft lb air rifle, saying that I use JSB RS and Express along with Bisley Long range gold and had good success with Daystate Kaiser all through a Lothar Walther barrel.

That gun shows potential. Actually has open sights! My main guestion which will help me determine if I buy one is since Gamo bought out Crosman are they going to have Crosmans good reputation on ordering parts? If I want this gun can I order a extra air piston and a few piston seals also? Or better yet order a steel mainspring, guide rod, top hat etc. Gamo has always given off a disposable gun sale as you know there are many hobbyists out there that love to tinker and improve their airguns. But, if parts are not available that can be very hard to do.

13:55 - i can tell you from experience that when using CPHPs or even H&N FTTs which were so all over the place in sizing that 1 fell 3" down the barrel of my DIANA 34p that it has no effect on grouping. that has to do with the barrel itself.
i only use CPHPs now for the past 10years and even though they fit into the breech differently they hit the same spot every time. the only ones i dont use are the ones that just fall into the breech due to me being concerned about them not makin a proper seal and allowing air to pass through resulting in a possible minor dry fire.
as far as u having one fall all the way through the barrel and out the muzzel i dont know what to tell you ive never heard of that happening w/o a pellet to boar test until now.

just to let you know Gabby Giffords is now calling for the laws that apply to firearms to be applied to air guns so please start advocating for the industry because she literally wants to go as far as criminalizing Nerf guns

I have been. For years. It does not help that some creators promote Airguns as self defense alternatives with a focus on the fact they are not regulated. Them coming after “non-powder” guns makes sense (for them) because the push back will be much less significant than their frontal assault on “real” guns. If they can get a toe hold regulating Airguns that will give them a jumping off point to take things further.
I will continue to do what I can. Hopefully others will follow.

You go for accuracy? I don't want to be unkind but before you test pellets you have to know first how to shoot a springer or gas ram air rifle....Use the artillery hold or shoot at least from a soft shooting bag or a pile of towels and NOT with a bipod standing on a hard surface, Thats rule number one how to shoot a springer. This absolute not the way to shoot a springer. Not one group you shot is consistent or good, i would say good enough for backyard plinking soda cans but absolutely not recommendable for hunting living quarry. It is unacceptable to recommend this rifle for hunting with those results....GAMO rifles are known not to be accurate because of their cheap build quality. I shoot with my quality springer air rifles easy less than a half inch groups on 25 yards and way less than one inch groups at 50 yards. Every serious airgun shooter with knowledge about springer air rifles will agree with me. In my opinion you're not more than a GAMO sponsored channel using a chronograph to pretend to be professional and advertise tupperware rubbish with lousy triggers. Bad shots on targets are forgivable, bad shots on living quarry not.

Ok.. so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, unlike what you gave me, that you don't know my work and my continuous demonstrations of springer technique and the artillery hold.
I've been shooting springers for 20+ years and reviewing them for 18 years. I've done countless tutorials on the artillery hold and springer technique. But this gun surprised me with its ability to shoot well off the bipod. I demonstrated this in a video a while ago, showing my surprise that it actually worked.
The point of this video is to show what "this" gun can do, not teach folks how to shoot a traditional springer. (again, just search my channel; I've done it many times) I have other more accurate springers: R9, TX200, ProSport, LGV, and the list goes on. But they are far more expensive and less accessible to the average new airgunner.
I wanted to show folks what THIS airgun can do as a kit sent directly from Gamo USA.
      Thank you for watching.
      Cheers

@@AirGunWeb If you know what you're doing than you know also exactly that this is not the way to shoot a springer. People see this vid. and you recommend that this gun is "good enough" for small game hunting. Those results are not good enough to dispatch game with an instant clean kill. If you reviewed Weihrauch HW's, TX200, ProSport, and Walther LGV's than you also know that GAMO's are rubbish compared with those brands. The re-introduced CFX under lever is a total joke. I'm almost sure this Shadow Tactical has a plastic breech block and detent pin that will cause even less accuracy after a while. I'm aware that not everyone can spend their money on a HW or a TX but there are way better rifles for a lower budget like the Cometa air rifles, especially the Fenix or Fusion are great rifles for the money. I hope you understand my point. You better recommend this gun for recreational use like plinking cans and spinning targets instead for hunting use. You only have to read the fancy Gamo boxes and you know what it's all about..... Cheers!

    • @AirGunWeb
      @AirGunWeb  2 дні тому +2

@rapalaron6348 - we are not going to agree here. I understand your perspective, but this airgun easily produces 1” groups at 25 yards which is more than adequate for small game at that range. Countless collared dove, rabbit, and squirrel have all been easily and humanely dispatched with Gamo break barrels. Iguanas and prairie dogs too. It may not suit your needs or “bar” for hunting accuracy, but the evidence and my own real life experiences over many years is clear.
I like the Gamo break barrels, especially the modern offerings like this one and the swarms. They are not R1s, or HW97s, but they get the job done in spades.
BTW, I really like the cometa and need to get back to that one here in the next few weeks.
      Cheers

@@AirGunWeb Ok, If you think a one inch spread will do for a humane head shot on a pigeon with a head of that size or a rat than we're not even close to agree. I know about the Swarms the bone collectors, varmint hunters. pro's and magnum Gen 1 to 10 etc. But also the GAMO made BSA spitfire rubbish etc. The enormous feet per second alloy pellet speeds on the fancy boxes to catch buyers and all the dead bunnies and squirrels on YT.. I'm more concerned about the countless bad hits on animals that had to suffer because of bad accuracy you'll never get to see. The same with the FX Impact nerds shooting pigeons at 200 yards..."Dead on" they proudly say looking at a cloud of feathers, but in an other video they need five to ten shots to hit the bottom of a soda can on that same distance. They missed, only hit some feathers or it's a clean kill....What happens out of eye sight is not relevant.
I'm a hunter, i hunt both small and large game and no hunter in the world can say that all their shots where perfect clean kills because we are human. Bad shots happen but i want to minimize that risk as good as i can to use accurate rifles and know the capabilities of those rifles. Aware that the one inch group at 25 yards will be at least a two inch group at 50 yards. 13 ft-lb is more than enough energy to kill a bunny at 50 yards with a head or a well placed body shot. With good conditions and a steady hold i'm comfortable to take that shot on 50 yards but the most Gamo's are not capable to take that shot. They have the power but not the accuracy.
What ever, this will be a endless discussion but I,m looking forward to see some Cometa reviews because that brand needs absolutely some more attention 😁 Cheers!
