You’re probably sick of hearing this, but what a wonderful job with this vid. Incredible content, excellent editing where you didn’t make your viewers suffer though the little insignificant footage of loading/shooting of the gun. Thank you. I’m a wannabe and trying to figure this all out without wasting money as a 1st timer.

It's awesome seeing you review a "budget" pcp like the Avenger! You're absolutely right that pcps with these features at this rich point are excellent for getting people into pcp air rifles. I could buy 3 or 4 of these for the price of my Maverick! Excellent job!

Its air rifles like this that help get people into the sport. Good for Air Venturi on getting an affordable option to those who can afford an expensive setup. The more in the sport the more it will continue to grow!

PCP shooting is expensive to get started... Assuming you want to be safe, a used but safe carbon cylinder will run between $100 and up depending on how many years of life are left; a new cylinder is around $600+. Figure fittings, hoses etc... and a cheap chinese compressor add another 500. Before you even think about a gun, you are looking at around $1000... and to do it 'right' I say more... Hatsan, Air Venturi, Beeman, these companies have made the airgun portion much more reasonable. I still do not have a compressor, but I am a firefighter so have easy access to clean, dry air. Not everyone is as fortunate.

I should add that since making this video, I have learned that the breech is not plastic, but rather metal coated in plastic. Why anyone would coat something in plastic, I don’t know🤔 But good to know that it is solid underneath. Same thing goes for the scope rail, but I would still recommend using picatinny instead of dovetail.

It's a perfect entry level rifle! Lately everyone has been going to bigger calibers & I wanted to see if I liked shooting. 25 cal without spending thousands! And I think it was the way to go because now I have a low power gun & a high power gun ...my .177 is tuned to 19.3 ft.lbs & the .25 Avenger is at 45.5, both using Hades pellets.
    Thanks for the honest review!

I'm so glad that you reviewed the Air Venturi Avenger. Thank you!
I've watched your channel for a long time now to figure out what is needed to get into PCP shooting. BTW your videos are first rate!
I pulled the trigger on the purchase before your review, mine is already on the way from Pyramid Air. Your take on the economics is spot on. I didn't want to purchase an expensive rifle and a compressor together because of the cost. You know politics with the wife! I didn't want a hand pump because, although my back is much better than it was for years, I don't want to put it to the test.
Thanks again for your review. You've set my mind at ease regarding my purchase.

Thanks Matt for the most honest and in depth review of this gun that I've seen. Unfortunately I am unable to own one here in the UK as they are over the 12ft/lbs limit that we have here but it would be on my list of I could. So I'll stick to my trusty old HW97 springer. I love the fact that I don't need an air tank an that it is easily maintainable.

Wow. Airgun Depot is showing this rifle for just $349 US. That’s an incredible value for such a capable rifle. When you said half the price of a dreamline, that would be $550, and I would have expected that to be a decent price for this rifle. At $349, that’s a no-brainer. At $1,150 the Dreamline is off of most Americans’ shopping lists simply because we don’t need licenses to own firearms, and $1,000 buys a heck of a lot of rifle.

Its cool that your taking the time to step away from FX to help put this gun out there. I have the predecessors to this gun called the ATI Nova Vista Liberty/Alpha in .177 and in .22 and they have been flawless and incredibly accurate. yes...i have several other airguns that i have spent 2K$+ on yet they are not my favorites> I can take them, throw them on my quad bike and ride around and enjoy them like i can these guns. They are just s accurate out to 80 yards and on good days 100 yards. That said I'm happy to see you doing real world, average air gunner reviews again. Not everyone can afford 2K for an air gun and the support system required for them. Mad respect my friend. I really think it would be in all airgunners interests to keep our eye on Nova Vista brother, obviously they are airgun shooters. I can't wait to see what they come up with next truthfully. Looking forward to their version of a bull-pup. As always...we/I appreciate your blunt honesty and that's why we have the respect for you that we do. Honesty is real...people lie all the time to make a buck, you have maintained this attribute which keeps us glued to every word you say. Thank you for that, and God bless you for that. The truth always comes out in the end which is why so many have come undone. Always stay true my friend. Once you loose that attribute...you have lost everything.

Looked into these and did a lot of research because I thought it might be a good addition to my guns I use for pesting. The more I found out especially from people who already own one the more I decided to wait. There are just too many issues popping up and the less than great features you mentioned. The people who have one that works they work well but many are having leaks, loose stocks are other problems that shouldn't exist in a brand new gun. I might look at them again in a year or so and see if it is sorted out.

My dad used to use a pumper and BB's to pop them off a line from his front porch. If I were trying to pop them at 150 plus I'd definitely tune for, and use slugs. I can hit a pop bottle at 133 yards with mine, with pellets, but I'm not sure I'd go for a rabbit at that distance, I haven't tried for groups, just plastic bottles off sticks, lol.

If you stuff a piece of cloth in the stock, it really goes a long way to make the rifle feel more solid and adds to a quality feel. The end of the stock comes off with ease. I also added some "duct seal" to the front stock pieces and now it literally feels like a totally different rifle with very little added weight.

Matt, thank you for doing a review on the Avenger. It is rare that someone of your stature in any realm, would do a review for those who could not afford high end products. that being said I do enjoy shooting my Avenger .22. The Donny FL barrel adapter and moderator are a wonderful addition to this rifle. I find the Neilson Specialty Ammo Slug 23gr .217 shoot especially well in my barrel. I would love to try the Patriot's but not yet available in the states. no this gun is not of the same quality of my Impact mk2, but my 15 year old Daughter shoots my Avenger with near the same groups as me and my Impact at 50 yards! so it is a great family friendly shooter! I am very pleased with all of what this gun offers at such a ridiculously low price point. great review, thank you Matt.

Wow I just found this vid , don’t know how I missed. It was refreshing to see an Airgun god as yourself to make a video of a gun that is 1500 to 3000 dollars cheaper than some of the ones you own lol .I got in the pcp world with my nova freedom . I am just getting to want to do some valve work , change hammer spring , drill out high power side of power adjuster ,knob ,drill out air inlet on barrel and air outport hole to what goes to the barrel .the freedom has been in my hands for exactly 3 years so far , never had any problems with anything until a few months ago. I double load a heavy slug , ended up bending lever to probe connecting arm then breaking it in half and slightly bending the pellet probe. I just got the cousin to the nova liberty, vista and freedom and the famous air venturies avenger and aspen line which some claim a mind improvement to the ati novas . The novas have the better one piece valve block , heart of the rifle . The upgrade to both of these is the newest addition , the Umarex Origin !!!! It has the heart , the valve body of the AV avenger type , the cheaper made , I think not as durable and long lasting of the novas . While taking both rifles apart I noticed the barrel input and output air holes on the Origin is slightly drill a little bigger. This accounts for the 100 FPS gain over the two other models. The hammer spring seems much harder than my 3 yr old nova’s also. The thing I love about most is the AirTunes constant pressure in the origin ,gives better performance of shots and is easier to pump with the included Umarex air pump all at 299 plus tax !!! The accuracy from 0 to 100 yards is really amazing I also like fun trick shots from 1 to 150 yards and am trying to really learn the 200 plus yard style of shooting . The UA-cam channel “Air Velocity Sports “ shows how to modify for power , much more power , and build wooden stocks for them . He also talks about and uses parts from dark charisma “ DUY” which is awesome I have read for his upgrades !
I want to thank you Airgod for showing us your human side of us entry level pcp shooters lol ….you are truly a master at what you do brother !!!
I am glad to be a long time subscriber of yours , GOD bless you and your channel !!!!

Matt, you were my second love (after Kenny...rip) when I discovered airguns in 2017. Back then you were shooting apples and eggs out the back of your truck in a field next to a stream and I was hooked!
Alas you quickly became sophisticated and while I was buying $200 break barrels and $400 pcp's you were moving into $2000 & $3000 airguns. I wasn't and had to move onto SG, AEAC and some of the other 'common man' suitors :)
While I still watch your very informative mil/moa instructions, your AOA bench rest reports, and other common info videos. I just couldn't relate to the fx guns, smooth twist, 500/700m barrel world.
I wish I would of just saved up for an fx seven airguns ago but I am now looking forward to ordering the Avenger. This will allow me (my way too many hobbies) grandkids, fishing, golfing all in addition to airgunning.
Really appreciate the trip back to the old Matt...thanks
