Q&A Here are answers to some of the big questions this video sparked (thanks for watching!):
How did we sneak into New Zealand when borders are closed? That was the question we kept getting and why we used the same wording for the title of this video. Cheeky? Yes, but so is the idea that any sailor could sneak into NZ. So, we share how and why our application was approved in this video to dispel any cheeky ideas. And to help other sailors in a similar situation who may also need to apply.
Q: Who was the UA-camr that made the NZ officials apprehensive?
A: We don’t know, they didn’t tell us who it was. And we aren’t going to judge or assume anything because that makes an ass(out of)u(and)me. It was just a good reminder to us that we are being watched, we need to be respectful visitors, and that our actions can affect our fellow sailors.
Q: Why didn’t we have to do MIQ?
A: We did! We showed quarantine in the last video and mentioned we had just left the quarantine dock at the beginning of this video.

We also got accepted to sail to New Zealand from Fiji, but they want $50,000 NZD of boat repairs. Anyone could get in, for a price. Only Australia opened for compassionate reasons (and it's warmer there :).

Every time I sailed around those northern NZ waters, dolphins were almost always around us and sometimes had the odd whale come to the surface, great fishing usually as well. Winter sailing in NZ is great but you definitely need proper gear on.

I can understand the wynns English better and their story has more context. The wynns adventure are more laid back and I like their editing style. I have watched many of your videos and I thoroughly enjoy most of the music that you often use.
Happy 15 years anniversary for whenever that is and keep up the love and adventure for the next 15 years at least. You seem to have the right recipe cooking for that to be reached.
I look forward to seeing your journey and thank you for 'keeping it real'.

I get the impression some people don't watch entire videos, they just jump around on the parts that they are interested in. And maybe some people only watch certain ones, like when there's actual sailing going on and none of the repairs/planning vidz. I agree, they were very clear about the process, the agent they used, and what steps were needed.

Hey Nikki when I seen you trying to pet those dolphins it made me think of something my mom said to be before she died in 2006 from colon cancer and she told me if you ever need me to come to the beach she would be swimming with the dolphins so every time you see those dolphins you try to pet them for me

Firstly, so glad you made it through your trip to NZ. That was a white-knuckler, to say the least! Your joy at sailing and just taking the good with the bad, and showing it all in the videos makes you a must follow channel for me.
One thing I also really like is for your intros, that you match the tempo of the music behind your voiceover, with the tone of the episode. It is very subtle, but over time, you can see that it matches. Great build-up and lead-in!
Again, so glad you made it safely. All the best with your coming boat work!
