I’ve been doing doordash and other delivery apps for 8 years now, the market is over saturated now cause they keep hiring more drivers so there’s less work but i’m still grinding out there.
Not nearly as bad as rideshare (Uber/Lyft). I've done both full time and food delivery is half the mile's daily, which adds half the life to your car if you were doing rideshare. Get a used Prius and you're good for probably 4-5 year's full time. One recommendation though, pay 1.5-2 of your car payment monthly. That way you are keeping the loan close to the amount you're using the car. That way, when you're done (or it breaks down and you have to move on) you won't owe a crap load of money and have to roll it into your next ride loan.
Not a point by the time you pay taxes on each dollars that you make from DoorDash you do your own oil changes you get new tires you get new brake pads you’re broke. Been there done this not worth it part time. Yes it’s a great little part-time gig to get a little bit of extra money to get you through full-time. I don’t care how much money you make you’re putting half of that back in gas Wear and tear on your vehicle and taxes. I did DoorDash full-time for a year and a half strictly full-time that’s all I did and it was the worst decision I’ve ever made at first I loved it being my own boss. It was great having the freedom it was awesome but then when you had to start working seven days a week and had no day off just to make ends meet that’s when it started to suck Filling up three times a week when your car gets 40 miles to the gallon gets to be a little bit overwhelming especially when you’re not making that much back and you’re spending more than what you make starts to suck and it starts to hit you very hard in the face good luck out there. Give it a little while you’ll see what I’m talking about. It won’t happen overnight, but you do it long enough you’ll get what I’m saying go back to a W-2 because I guarantee this kid already done that
@@pyramidion5911 Exactly, people have been saying the same thing since it started 😂. Most people who download the app never do 1 delivery. Those that do, usually last a couple weeks. There's a learning curve and you wont make good $ at first until you learn your market and develop a strategy.
@@jm4236😂😂😂😂 you’re not going to make good money at all. Gas is 3.50 a gallon on top of that factor in oil changes tire rotations tire replacement transmission fluid has to be changed eventually over time because you’re putting so much where in tear and miles on your vehicle. Like I said, I can guarantee it this kid went back to a W-2 job because he learned very quickly that you don’t make shit on these apps it’s not intended to be full-time it’s intended to be part time for a side hustle example if you’re bored around the house for the weekend go out make an extra 50 to 60 bucks. That’s what it’s intended to do I’ve already done this full-time for a year and a half and learn very very quickly, it’s not what it’s all cracked up to be so yeah people are saying the same old sound or same old tune because they are right no you will not make any money dude if you make money off of DoorDash nowadays, consider yourself very fucking lucky because eventually you won’t be so lucky anymore because people are tired of getting paid junk to do these orders and drive their car into the ground. Customers are getting tired of the service fees going up in price.
To be profitable, I find you need to make atleast 800-1000 per week. 17.5% federal contractor tax quarterly, 1.5% additional fee if you don't pay it. State tax, of course gas adds up. The hidden cost is vehicle wear and tear. The more you drive. The more often you will have to replace parts.
I live in Austin and you'd think a city as big as it would be profitable but it isn't. I usually aim for 8 dollar orders and to keep travel minimal but in spite of that I average around 11 to 13 hourly and a lot of the time either restaurants take too long, problems with the clients address (modern apartments) or the app not giving you opportunities for maddening times.
Speaking as a DD driver, here are some additional costs to consider: 1. Must have commercial car insurance. Whatever you pay for liability now, double it. You get a ticket or get into a wreck while delivering and you don't have it, your current insurance will not cover you for anything 2. Use a small, gas efficient, used vehicle. You will add 100+ miles onto your vehicle per day. Not exaggerating. Literally 100+ miles PER DAY 3. Be aware of your market. Small cities will not generate the kind of incomes you see from drivers who gig in large urban areas. This means you're not going to earn a Los Angeles income from gigging in Dayton, Ohio. Come to grips with this before you even try or you will find yourself very disappointed. Doesn't mean you can't still earn a nice income, but it will be a nice income for Dayton, not L.A. 4. Put money aside for routine car maintenance. A ton more oil changes than you are used to, tune ups, brake changes, coolant flushes, tire replacement, starter/alternator replacement. You will get to know your local mechanic on a first name basis. 4. You will pay double the taxes you used to pay while working for an employer. You alone are responsible for setting aside some of your income for this. Typically 30%. That means 30% of whatever you earn every day must be set aside for taxes. 5. You will fill your gas tank every day. EVERY DAY. If you spend more than $25, then your vehicle is too big or too inefficient. So let's say you earn $200 per day. $60 for taxes $20 for gas $10 for maintenance $200 - $90 = $110 If you gig in a small market, not every day is like this. Wednesdays, for example, you will be lucky to pull $120 before taxes.
Damn, that was the biggest fucking mistake you ever made in your life. I will go back to get your W-2 job back don’t do DoorDash full-time. You’ll regret it in the long run. Good luck.

I did the same thing too I doordashed for almost two years full time and I went back to a normal job . Car maintenance , gas , oil changes and let’s not forget a 1099 for tax time and you can’t buy a vehicle or really buy anything that needs a legit place of employment yes the money is good when you first start but once you been at it for awhile you’ll be back to looking for a real job and doordash on the side
@@adrianarreguin4178there are so many reasons. Stability, insurance (benefits), social aspect, growth opportunities, higher pay, paid time off, holidays, etc
@@adrianarreguin4178 If you look at what you actually net hourly after overhead, and taxes. Its typically very bad. It looks okay or even great upfront. A W2 will net you what you exactly what you earn at the end of the week unless you have a bad commute which is not even remotely close to what you drive for these apps.
I no longer do gig work but the best advice I gave people when I was driving was to keep track of your miles. Using the miles as a deduction when filing taxes is the most power tool. I know many drivers who never paid taxes because the mileage reimbursement more than covered their gross income.
You are lucky, my area was great at first then it went to complete trash. I had to stop Dashing because I was doing 12+ hour days and literally having to decline EVERY order! I started getting orders for $2.50 base pay for 13+ miles consistently... I wasn't even getting enough to cover gas. And I was lucky if I made it after a shift with $20-$30 on a great day after paying for my gas.

I can't work because of no car and no one from door dash called me back to see if I was alright and I can't believe all that could happen at one time and I feel like dieing. Sorry about telling you all that but I have no one trying to listen and I hope everything goes well for you and I wish I could sue the insurance company for doing that to me
Man this is just inspiring!🔥 I've been kinda scared to try DoorDash because I'm scared of my car breaking down or something also because I'm short on money to make repairs of something happens. But you know I think I'll give it a try! I'm behind 1 month of my car Note so I'll need to definitely get on it soon! Thanks for the vids and the inspiration!💯🔥🔥. P.S. Hope you make it to $20k+++
I live in a tourist area , in the mountains and it's a nightmare. Every short delivery goes straight up a mountain , then back to bumper to bumper traffic and zero parking . 6 months of constant repairs on a fairly low mileage small truck. Bought a motorcycle when gas went up thinking with traffic and parking it would be great only for them to tell me motorcycles weren't allowed in my area . Screw Ddash !!!!
If it wasn't for my hubby preparing my cars.... I would not be able to make deliveries..... this past summer all three cars in the household lost its air conditioning.... how about 1 to $ 2,000 he was able to repair them.... and about 2 to 3 weeks out of work waiting.... not including the oil changes, tires, repairs gasoline, Insurance, taxes .... I think doordash pays $13 in my area sometimes you get a little bit more, I think Uber's like 16 to $18 an hour.... that's the emails they send me... and I'm in a resort....
To start, I don’t care if my car breaks down, because people will start with that BS. Cars are machines, they are replaceable, YOU are not. I was in a super stressful job so no thank you! I’m staying here. Plus you don’t spend much on car repairs. $5k or $6k is not much in my opinion compared to making $54k a year
As a grandma, with congestive heart failure, who just got laid off, who has a sick adult son, who has a wife in a nursing home frome a traumatic brain injury, and an autistic son, i too, am going to give doordash a shot! Could this be the answer i have been searching for my whole life? Even if i only make $10/hr, it can still be more money than i have ever made in my life. Because i spend my time regardless. If i can get $10/hr for that time, well, thats still .ore than $0hr for all those previous hours not paid! Heres to both of us making our goals!
DUDE! That’s exactly my story too. I worked as a parts driver for Napa, did deliveries after work and some nights I’d make the same or more in 4 hours than the 8 I did at Napa. After 6 months I quit Napa and moved to UE full time. Now I’m 2 years in and still growing!
$20,000 in 100 days? Is that even possible with DD? How much would you have to make per day? And how many hours and how many shifts? I’d think if everyone could make that money in that time, go for it. Blessings to you 👊💯
THERE IS NO WAY U CAN DO DOOR DASH FULL TIME HERE IN MY MARKET. 249 IN 9 HOURS IS good but where I live I need to make more per hour. Some days uber and lyft is 50 an hour which makes more sense for me but that is onky once in a while. Hawaiis cost of living Is way higher. Prices are similar to new York and high end areas in LA.
Big mistake. I did the same thing. After a few years, pay will only decrease, no moving up in the company, no promotions, car breaks down, and insurance premiums will increase. The gig apps are ALWAYS good when you first start because you think the bonuses will stay the same: They will NOT. Get a REAL skill and get a REAL job. Doordash is NOT it.
I’ve only been doing DoorDash for just under a month and I already have 911 deliveries. I’ve made very good money but the people who are thinking about quitting their jobs to do DoorDash. It’s 100% doable I just say for me I would rather keep my 9 to 5 and still make enough money with DoorDash which I currently do right now I always say if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it but if you choose to do it, it’s not a bad idea
That would be making over 200 a day. I've been doing dd for years and I want ppl to know that he has to be in a very good market for that bc not everywhere is going to get you those totals fs. Sounds very lucky to me
I do doordash part-time and I make good money as well I love the freedom of having a second job without the boss. I love making my own schedule. I won't quit my main job but this works as a great side hustle.
Don't quit your job for DD unless you really really hate your job and you're dashing in a very lucrative area but still in the meantime try to find something else if you did
Recently I considered quitting my job to do it full time but this past week I am glad I didn’t. It’s been extremely slow and the gas prices are ridiculous.
Today I waited at Walmart for 25 minutes they started bringing the order out and then I got a notification the order had been canceled I went home and didn’t do any more Uber eats today
Doordash, Uber, Uber Eats, Lyft. If you get out there and do a 9-5 or more it's worth it in the end. Sign up, on your next day off, try it, see if it's for you
Let me tell you the untold thing that nobody speaks about. Car maintenance will come back and bite you in the ass when your car needs a transmission change or any other work because you car is seeing extremely high miles. Don’t forget about gas as that is an expense that is up there when driving a lot of miles. I already put in 10k miles on my car in 3 months and I hope to god my car doesn’t need any major work soon.
This usually happens to ppl who do not properly maintain their high mile vehicles. Do the regular routine maintenance and the car is good. All the new parts have seen no miles. As far as transmissions go, again properly maintenance your highly unlikely to have a transmission fail especially without some type of warning way before hand.
Another untold thing is that some gig apps will penalize you for taking time off. You can work whenever you want, but people don't think about the fact that gig work doesn't offer health insurance or vacation pay. I did gig work for 8 months and decided to go back to a regular job. I live in a rural area so I was having to do a lot more driving than people in the bigger cities.
Also your taxes are doubled when you do gig work. Most people don't realize that for every dollar that is withheld from your paycheck for taxes at a regular job, your employer has to contribute roughly the same on your behalf. With gig work you have no employer so you have to pay the employer's part also. It's called self employment tax.
@@DS-lt7fw most taxes are doubled but you can still write some off. People just don’t know that running your own business has some pretty steep expenses. I can barely afford health insurance because all of it isn’t covered. A well maintained car will go through 15k miles on about 3-4 months. That’s already passed the 12k avg miles in a year and that’s what people don’t understand. I go through oil changes like it’s water because I don’t want my car to break down even though the wear and tear is crazy high. I do gig work as full time and it’s starting to take a toll on my car and I take care of my car
I was making minimum wage with an hour lunch so I was gone 9+ hours from home everyday. I was doing Doordash ok the weekends & sometimes after work. I was making almost the same amount as my w2 doing it in free time . then they ended up letting me go , now I am working it 8+ hours always making atleast 40$ more than minimum wage in the end .
Being self employed is great but there's a lot of expenses to incur and don't forget there are no benefits like medical, dental, retirement you get with a company.
a lot of people think dorrdash isnt a real job, if you work a normal job for just long enough to save up like 3 grand. you can get somthing to doordash with, and if you get smth like a tdi vw jetta youll make $20+ an hour and spend $10 or less on gas a day. i was making $90 a day spending $10 on gas. an older honda, toyota, or vw is your best bet, you can get those for under 3k running and driving under 200k miles, expect to replace some things, but those are the lego cars u can repair with youtube and maybe the help of any random dude with a trucker hat and cowboy boots on if youre not to good at understanding things, then u just doordash and hit penjamin all day while u listen to music and podcasts n shih, bring a friend along too if you want. its probaby one of the most fofilling jobs that doesent wear u out. you can get your money same day you made it, or wait till the once a week free transfer. and you can make 3k back in less than 3 months of doing that and youre already up 3k, a car, and 3 different carts
Gross and net profit are a big difference, gas is very expensive along with vehicle maintenance, and wait until you have a major car repair. Not to mention taxes aren’t deducted either and you’ll have to pay those too… DoorDash money is an illusion.
Do it bro!! I am in spring Hill Fl has way to many people dashing and not enough people ordering to the point where not a single hour is available in a week schedule
I love doing doordash and other apps, it is way better than my past jobs in retail and customer service and many other things. No boss, no uniform, I get to pick when I work, where I work, pick my orders, I can take breaks anytime, I get paid everyday, I can do what I feel is right with the customers without someone telling me oh that was nice but that is not our policy blah blah blah. No pointless meetings to attend, I don't have to rely on someone else to show up to work before I can leave, it is like an addictive phone game but you make money and I don't get stressed out even if one of the apps is down for a bit or the gps is wonky. I can work every single day and if I want a day off I don't have to call anyone to ask for it. I wish I started this years ago, I have been at it a few months and love it, a couple days ago I got an order for 6 bucks for 1.5 miles and I got a 20 dollar cash tip and then on the app the total was 10.50 so that was $30.50 in ten minutes.
I'm just curious for the people that are doing doordash full time because that does look like something I may want to do in the future what are you guys do for health insurance?
Not to be negative here bc I support your choice however, I want to make sure you are paying your taxes quarterly so you don't run into a massive tax debt at the end of the year. Also, you should be stashing cash towards car repairs and eventually a new car. The miles will add up for sure. And cars are expensive these days.
While your second recommendation is spot on, I have been FT for year's and never owe taxes after write offs. If you don't know how to do it have someone do it for you because you should not be paying any taxes doing this job 💯.
@@jm4236 unless you have another W2 job, it is impossible to be an IC and not pay taxes on revenue earned even after the write offs unless you are in poverty level. I would get a better accountant.
You always want to be leveraging these apps as a stepping stone. For instance, get out of the job using DD but start getting into courier work. The pay is significantly better. You can still use just your car. Then upgrade to a van and take on better paying courier work. Start getting paid for everything you do. While you’re out doordashing, go pick up electronics in your area to resale, you’re already out on the road, why not maximize your earning potential? It’s a progression. Never make this your sole source of income. Think of it as a supplement to get to your goal or desired income weekly/monthly.
It’s sad how bad off you guys are when it comes to writing off or having tax deductions, And then question on how the “Hierarchy” and rich folk get away with all this tax evasion The law is not only for their favor that is why our elders teach us to get educated. $10,000 IN TAXES? Are you …. Okay? What? Even if it was $10,000 and you only could write off HALF , It would be around $5000 in taxes which would be more reasonable. Do your studying, research 🔬
Oh my God, I was literally just delivering parts myself. And really am interested in this. I'm going to binge watch your videos any advice would be greatly appreciated
I wouldnt quit my full time job for doordash, it all depends on the market youre in too. But with doordash youre gonna be dealing with costly vehicle maintenace, gas and mileage add up plus you have to do your own taxes which is some what of a nightmare. I was doing doordash then wasnt making much anymore due to the market being over saturated with drivers and not much people ordering as much anymore. If your market is awesome/ always busy then yea its a good full time gig
I’ve been driving since the app first came out. Anyone who is wondering here is the break down of what he really made on the 2700 Taxes 0 if he saves it all for tax write offs. 250 on gas 150 on car Maintenance So he made 2300 in 11 days not to bad my guy!
Yeah, but I don't think they take taxes out of your pay so that's why everyone thinks the pay is good. I think you have to fill out that 1099 form and keep track of your earnings
I worked for 1 day and I got almost 400$!!!!! There can be very easy deliveries such as customers ordering a lighter and a phone charger from a gas station. I love it, I quit Amazon sortation for door dash, DEFINITELY WORTH IT AND IM DEF SATISFIED
Hope you’re considering taxes, doordash is not W2. you will have to claim your income on a 1099 and pay 30% in taxes, you probably made closer to $270 after taxes - $70 on gas
I've been doing doordash now for a year and a half.
As long as this platform operates as it does I'm not going back to regular work.
And on top of it I'm fortunate enough to dash in an area where there is lots of restaurants and everything is within 12 minutes of each other.

I’ve been doing doordash and other delivery apps for 8 years now, the market is over saturated now cause they keep hiring more drivers so there’s less work but i’m still grinding out there.
Doordash is honestly a great little side hustle, just gotta accept the fact that your poor car is getting high mileage
That and wear/tear faster.
That’s why you have a car to do strictly just DD.
@@themetrovibeor just take care of the car
It won’t happen overnight, but you do it long enough you’ll get what I’m saying go back to a W-2 because I guarantee this kid already done that
This video was made when DoorDash was good. I’d love to know how much he makes today with the fact that EVERYONE does it now and gas 3x more expensive
People sing that same tired song year after year
Because I stay in 5 mile radius 20 orders a day and fill up twice a week for 65 dollars
@@bobg3221bro if you don’t make
Money on here it has to be you. I make $600 a week and I don’t even be goin hard
Get Car Shield. It's legit.
@@damonbanks9409😂 or you can just go and work at a W-2 job that’s legit too
I’ve been doing it full time for two weeks and I have made $2000 for both weeks.
Speaking as a DD driver, here are some additional costs to consider:
1. Must have commercial car insurance. Whatever you pay for liability now, double it. You get a ticket or get into a wreck while delivering and you don't have it, your current insurance will not cover you for anything
2. Use a small, gas efficient, used vehicle. You will add 100+ miles onto your vehicle per day. Not exaggerating. Literally 100+ miles PER DAY
$60 for taxes
$20 for gas
$10 for maintenance
$200 - $90 = $110
If you gig in a small market, not every day is like this. Wednesdays, for example, you will be lucky to pull $120 before taxes.
Why would u put 60$ away for taxes . ? Plus u can add other apps that keeps up with miles an gas recipes to help u with ur taxes
@@tyecharessewhite7831 let me help you with the math. 30% out of 100 dollars is 30 dollars. So if you have 200 dollars it's 60 dollars.

I no longer do gig work but the best advice I gave people when I was driving was to keep track of your miles. Using the miles as a deduction when filing taxes is the most power tool. I know many drivers who never paid taxes because the mileage reimbursement more than covered their gross income.
How do you keep track of it

I can't work because of no car and no one from door dash called me back to see if I was alright and I can't believe all that could happen at one time and I feel like dieing.
Sorry about telling you all that but I have no one trying to listen and I hope everything goes well for you and I wish I could sue the insurance company for doing that to me

Back in the day it used to be good to be a dasher when they paid $4.50 a delivery. Once they change to the new model it was no longer worth it for me
Man this is just inspiring!🔥 I've been kinda scared to try DoorDash because I'm scared of my car breaking down or something also because I'm short on money to make repairs of something happens.

$5k or $6k is not much in my opinion compared to making $54k a year
I'm finding that there is so many people doing this now that it's getting to the point where there's more people delivering than there is orders....

Credit cards
I do gig work as full time and it’s starting to take a toll on my car and I take care of my car

a lot of people think dorrdash isnt a real job, if you work a normal job for just long enough to save up like 3 grand. you can get somthing to doordash with, and if you get smth like a tdi vw jetta youll make $20+ an hour and spend $10 or less on gas a day. i was making $90 a day spending $10 on gas. an older honda, toyota, or vw is your best bet, you can get those for under 3k running and driving under 200k miles, expect to replace some things, but those are the lego cars u can repair with youtube and maybe the help of any random dude with a trucker hat and cowboy boots on if youre not to good at understanding things, then u just doordash and hit penjamin all day while u listen to music and podcasts n shih, bring a friend along too if you want. its probaby one of the most fofilling jobs that doesent wear u out. you can get your money same day you made it, or wait till the once a week free transfer. and you can make 3k back in less than 3 months of doing that and youre already up 3k, a car, and 3 different carts
Gross and net profit are a big difference, gas is very expensive along with vehicle maintenance, and wait until you have a major car repair. Not to mention taxes aren’t deducted either and you’ll have to pay those too…

Not to be negative here bc I support your choice however, I want to make sure you are paying your taxes quarterly so you don't run into a massive tax debt at the end of the year. Also, you should be stashing cash towards car repairs and eventually a new car. The miles will add up for sure. And cars are expensive these days.

I like that brah. Im bouta go hard as well...20000 in 100 days im up for the challenge. LETS FUCKING GOOO!!!
That loop back is smooth
It seems an ebike would make more sense
I’m a 10 year. Exp trucker
I’m about to start Monday
New career.
Uber eats and door dash.
Transportation moves America
what he won’t tell you is he’ll spend $2-3k on gas and still owe $7k in taxes so it’ll really be closer to $10k once he hits 20
🤣🤣 Id say too its $200/month on gas. 3k means you take bad orders and have a gas guzzler that leaks gas
It’s sad how bad off you guys are when it comes to writing off or having tax deductions,
And then question on how the “Hierarchy” and rich folk get away with all this tax evasion
The law is not only for their favor that is why our elders teach us to get educated.
$10,000 IN TAXES?
Are you …. Okay?
What?
Even if it was $10,000 and you only could write off HALF ,
It would be around $5000 in taxes which would be more reasonable.
Do your studying, research 🔬
😆 the biggest idiot comment on YT.
2-3k on gas ???? every month I spend about 240-300 on gas and make way more then that
@@texaskushkings7069 you’re not fooling anyone, $300 on gas to make $20k my ass
Good luck man, I loved doordash at first but after 9 months it got very old and I couldnt stand it.
I LOVE DOING DOOR DASH ❤
Been worried about quitting my job and this is my next step into a solid career so thanks for paying
*posting
I’ve been driving since the app first came out. Anyone who is wondering here is the break down of what he really made on the 2700
Taxes 0 if he saves it all for tax write offs.
250 on gas
150 on car Maintenance
So he made 2300 in 11 days not to bad my guy!
you can’t write off every dime of your income lmao
Awesome brother ! I love it !
Lazy ass bitch get a real job
Hope you’re considering taxes, doordash is not W2. you will have to claim your income on a 1099 and pay 30% in taxes, you probably made closer to $270 after taxes - $70 on gas
I quit my job and do doordash too.
i need to jus atleast start doing doordash ! and hopefully it works out as i’m jobless right now !! i need too so it HAVE DISCIPLINE FUCK
I have seen several videos like this but nobody talks about overhead like gas, brakes and tires plus what is the tax liability! Do you get a 1099
You have a great market. Not all markets are the good and unsaturated with drivers…
NAPA PISSED THIS MAN OFF AND NOW LOOK
He will be back there with his beat up car after so many orders lmao!
