I work at panda express and I have food delivery drivers I see daily and I always try to make their job easier by hurrying up the order or even just making sure everything is completely correct because we both are working for a check.! I do appreciate when drivers tell me they see me working fast because I genuinely am trying for them😂!
I really appreciate that thanks so much for helping drivers like me have a better experience. Keep up the great work!!
Yes it’s appreciated. Just at Panda Express last weekend and they worked hard to get me out quick. I make sure to thank them and acknowledge
Big thank you to you and all who are onnpoint!
I start today. I have high anxiety, low self-esteem, and a fear of messing up. Your step by step video is what I need right now. I thank you for making this.
You can do this! If you have any questions during or after just post them or email me a DollarDriver.org
Just did my first Dash today thanks to you! This video gave me the confidence to give it a try and i did. As an introvert I was in my head all the time but once it was over I realized it wasn’t that hard. ❤❤❤
That is amazing! As a free gift for you getting out there I want to give you free access to Hidden Hotspots! Go ahead and email me at HiddenHotspots.com/contact and mention that you posted on this video! You rock!
Same with me. I started 2 1/2 weeks ago.
That's my worry...I have anxiety and it's keeping me from starting
@@tbrowwnn Yessss!!! Once you started you won the battle.
@@progdrummer78 Well the thought of me being broke broke gave enough motivation. Anxiety will fade but bills don’t, and few bucks you didn’t have before helps.
8:47 one thing I would suggest is to inform the customer at that point what you’re doing let them know you’re waiting on there food if it’s not ready 32:00 I jumped the gun lol you mentioned it later in the video
One more thing I would suggest is put your phones display autolock to never so your phones not always trying to go dark
Thanks for the comments and the autolock idea, really appreciate it!!
I’m about to start today after work pray for me to be a blessing this video help a lot thanks for the content 😊
Awesome you will do GREAT! Remember to breath and have fun and be a light out there for people. Just prayed for you! If you need any help or have questions just email me at DollarDriver.org! Let me know how it goes!
How'd it go?
Been doing the gig hustle in the uk for 2 years now with just eat and deliveroo. This video is excellent as a refresher course and i recommend 👍👍👍👍👍💯.
Just stumbled and subscribed today thanks you two!!!
Thanks for the kind words!
Excellent training video! All the inside tips, do's and dont's for success as a Door Dasher!
Thanks so much let me know if there are any other videos I should make :)
I wish I found this three days ago I would have taken more orders as it’s my first experience with UE!
You and Anna are great ! Thank you!
Thank you so much!
Really enjoyed this. Thanks. You two were great.

@@DollarDriver I wish to become or atleast try dashing soon in the future. That's how I came across this tutorial video.
God bless you
Thank you! If you need any more help or want me to make a specific video let me know!
@@DollarDriver thankyou for answering back so specifically! This is so wonderful.
I will most probably land in LA. So, wanted to know if there's enough business in LA for new legal immigrants so that they could earn enough to have a respectable life based on income through Doordash or other food delivery platforms?
Just a tip at 17:20 you can usually swipe on the green direction bar at top of screen to see your next turn. No need to zoom out and recenter.
Thats great thanks for sharing this!!
Good teaching. At this point i pretty much know fives cities like the back of my hand. Familiarize yourself with the main roads, a lot of times you can get better timing.
Chipotle and panda always good orders
Thanks for the kind words! Yes Chipotle and Panda area always solid! Also I have found any popular places with only a few locations tend to be hubs of orders for people who don't want to commute to those locations.
This is super helpful! I did my first dash 2 days ago and I’m excited to get back out there! Thanks for all the tips and tricks!
Awesome glad you liked it! If you want any other videos made to help you let me know!
Same here!
🤔...Why do you stop your miles before getting back home? I'm about to start Dashing for the first time tomorrow and this has me a little confused. Anywhere you dive for business purposes should count as a mileage deduction. As far as I know the only business driving you cannot count is driving from your home to your primary office. For pretty much all gig workers your home is your primary office AKA your official business address. As in the fixed location where you perform administrative task associated with your Dashing business, keep supplies, equipment and records for that business. So driving mileage from your home to where you start Dashing and from where you stop Dashing back to your home should all be deductible mileage.
Best to talk to a tax professional on this one but I believe for the video we were going to do other things unrelated to driving for doordash
She is so happy doing it that is great
So true!
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Very interesting, thats cool you showed her the ropes
Thanks!!
When I door dashed in Queens, NY I did not accept orders from fast food restaurants because I could make so much more when I would pick up orders from regular restaurants. and in Queens we have so many restaurants of every different ethnic food.
Great advice! If you know of specialty or expensive restaurants that do delivery those are great to get orders from if you can. Love the variety of food in NY!
lots of knowledge to be obtained from your video. thanks a lot bro
Thanks for the kind words! I really appreciate them! Please let me know if there are other videos you would like me to make.
Very interesting very informative information great video do more please this is something i have been thinking about doing. 😊
Thank you! If you have types of videos you would like made please let me know!
I’m definitely under the radar DOORDASHer
Keep on hustling!
Never use two apps on your first day
Yes I agree!
I watched the video. It gave me a lot of info and tips. I’m still scared. I think I’ll call my friend to go on my 1st run w/me. In my defense- “I’m old!” Never thought I’d say that. Laugh out loud. “I got this!”
You got this!! I know you can! Definitely a great idea to take a friend along! Let me know how it goes and if I can help in any way!
You should tell that if you have to go the restroom to hit waiting on order too
Great advice!
Great training video!!
Glad you liked it!
I'm new, still waiting for approval. I'm guessing my background check, but on my app, it says start dashing? Do we get red door dasher bags? Some pizza places, require a pizza bag, don't they?
Once they approve you you are good to go. You don’t need the DoorDash bag but you need an insulated bag. If you get a big enough one you can use it for pizza which is what I do. I got mine from Costco.
What do you do for proof when handling food to security?
Usually the places have a seal they put on their food but if they do not I normally don't do anything. I have never had any issues.
She is going to be a good Dasher
I think so too!
seems stressful having to know what somones drink is, getting the straws, i always figured the place would have it ready
Yes some places do this for some reason so it’s good to know so you don’t take orders for there if you can help it :)
What do you do if a customer leaves you a bad rating because they tracked and noticed you stopping at another restaurant, thereby delaying their order delivery?
It's hard to fix reviews of people they can be very picky and demanding unfortunately. If you delivered on time then you should contact support and let them know the review is invalid due to your delivering on time. This would be what I would do.
DoorDash need to pay more!!!! The pay is horrible all that for 5 7 Bucks
That would be amazing
Can we deliver food without insulated bag is it important to carry
People do but what I want to do is always treat people the way I want to be treated. So I would want my food as hot as possible on delivery do that's why I use an insulated bag. If you sign up for Doordash many times they send you a free one, it's small but good. I also got my bags from Costco and I think there are a lot on Amazon as well. Hope this helps!
@Dollardriver
Would you recommend keeping food in the insulated bags until handed over to customer or keeping insulated bags in your vehicle?
Yes I normally keep it in the bag until I drop it off at the door or hand it to the customer to keep it as warm as possible for as long as possible :). Plus it makes it easy to carry when there are multiple bags of food or drinks.
They do not always send you in the same direction with two orders I've had lots of orders that went opposite directions
Yes exactly! You have to really pay attention to where you need to deliver, so true!
Is that why the restaurant’s always thing I work for delivery, since usually spinning the stop for Pokemon go. Lol.
lol there are a lot of drivers these days!
My husband and I in the 90s wanted to do an internet startolup for delivering fastfood. We almost did it. Wish we would have we would be billionaires!
Wow that's awesome, so sorry you didn't do it :)
Thanks for this very informative video! You did great Anna!! I do have one question that I hope you can answer. When you are doing delivery work, do I need any special or additional car insurance when I'm doing this type of work? Please let me know if you have any additional insight on this. Thank you both so very much!! 😊
Thanks so much and I will tell Anna you said she did great! I am using USAA and many car insurance companies offer a rider for those doing food delivery. You should call and ask your car insurance company about a food delivery rider, if you get stuck just let me know. Also if you have any more questions or want me to make more how to, step by step videos please leave a comment or email me at dollardriver.org.
@@DollarDriver Thanks for your reply and I may look into USAA. I was told Progressive may also have additional insurance for gig workers. I live in the Bay Area and I have a friend that encouraged me to sign up for DoorDash as this is by a busy area. I will be signing up this week but I may be placed on a wait list? My name is Jim and thanks for providing me with your email address as I may be reaching out to you for additional information. I'll be starting out just like Anna was doing and I hope I can have a great first day like she did!! Thanks so much again for your reply!!
@@fenway2K4 Awesome! If you have any questions just let me know! Many times people are placed on Waitlists so make sure to sign up for Uber Eats and Grubhub, Instacart as well as Spark and any other gig apps you may be interested in.
I always take the stairs too
Awesome!
up here in canada will do not fill pop...
So you don’t have to fill drinks?
Made $320 last Saturday 🤭
Congrats!
Waiting for my background, processing now. I’m already a instacart shopper.
Awesome! Let me know how it goes and if you have any questions!
I have 10k deliveries, DD does not pay minimum wage after car expenses. Doordash is very exploitative. DD used to be ok. Not anymore.
It's so true but many people don't have any options especially with the tough job market out there. I would advise having multiple apps and switching between them to see which is best in your market. Also holidays and rainy days, etc. are good for most apps.
Do you provide your own coolers?
Doordash usually gives you one but Anna had not received it yet. I have coolers myself so you can use approved ones as well. Doordash provided coolers are pretty small so I would suggest getting a bigger one.
it seems she placed the food and the drink right in front of the door. When they open the door it could knock the drink over.
what if another doordasher steals the food that's just sitting there?
If this happens then you should contact Doordash support ASAP. Some places do check for verification but many do not, especially those who just put the orders out for others to get.
Remember bring food or snacks and extra water/drinks for yourself.
Awesome idea!
never deliver from wingstop 😂
lol definitely challenging!
We run a flooring contracting company and business is so slow my husband I are finding side gig. This is something we might try.
Yes go for it and if you need help just ask! You can email me at DollarDriver.org
I thought you needed a food handler license or food safety license to be preparing food or drinks?
No idea but the key is to not go to places that make you do this or report to Uber or DoorDash
That would definitely be the common sense answer. Too bad you don't see that much on the Internet 😂
$13 this morning from Jack n The Box 2.1 miles when people are hungry you make bank
Congrats!
I would have insisted she buy a phone cradle before starting
Great advice
Do you get paid weekly 😊
Yes that’s a cool part about this type of work
I don't like stacked orders personally.
Yes it can def be tougher since many times you may not have a good idea of how much time and distance it adds.
Why would you take *all orders* when you're new? New or not, you should reject trash orders.
In this area the Doordash is not too great so we need to take a lot of orders especially when training. Also when you reject an order it lowers your acceptance rate and for Doordash this is a bigger deal than Uber Eats.
You are not supposed to have to do the drinks. That's THEIR JOB to have it already done and put in a drink holder and a bag. They're supposed to have everything ready for you.
Unfortunately they will not do it at particular places but I 100% agree drivers should not be doing this.
@@DollarDriver It's THEIR JOB. Report them to UBER and DOOR DASH. They are the ones who handle all food and drinks. Not the drivers. We can't even wash our hands. They're supposed to be wearing gloves and packing clean and sanitized food products in a sealed bag.. We are not supposed to open bags and inspect food either. All we are supposed to do is pick up the prepackaged food and drinks all ready for us and deliver to the customer. No loose unbagged items on the ground. Especially drinks that spill all over our cars.
In a perfect world Popeyes not😂
I would never ask for a tip
It never hurts. In our market people don’t seem to tip and pay $3 for 5 miles. It’s pretty sad :(
Don't take a order for 2.75
Yes! Seems like Uber and DoorDash are offering more and more low orders
its definitely not our job too fill the drinks lol we are delivery drivers and taking every order is not the greatest advice you are gonna be using up more gas and spending more money than making a profit
So true! When training I like to make sure people take orders for the practice but you do not want to take every order. Many people need the money and can't get a job so there are really not too many options unfortunately.
Mentioning anything about a tip in the message can get you deactivated
Can you tell me in the rules/ policies where it says that? I know they pack a lot in and it’s sometimes hard to know exactly! Thanks for sharing this I was not aware of it.
Looks like there is no policy? From an article "A Doordash spokesperson said that, “While nothing in our guidelines explicitly prohibits Dashers from asking a customer for a tip, we have a zero tolerance policy for harassment by any member of our community on the DoorDash platform. This includes instances where Dashers harass customers for a tip.” So yes maybe it's harassment you are referring to?
They're ru
The rurls and policys doesn't mean anything. They make it up as they go over the past 4 years. I've seen it happen to drivers. I wasn't trying to be rude or anything. I was just trying to give you a head sup as to the shady things they do to drivers.
@@DollarDriver All it would take is for one customer to lie and say the driver harassed them. Then you would either get a contract violation or an AI generated response claiming harassment.
True I was just trying to see if they have it somewhere in their terms. 100% appreciate you!
Make sure you put the drinks in a cardboard drink holder and a bag. Don't leave it on the ground. This is supposed to be done for you already. These fast food workers are incompetent and lazy.
100% agree about making sure the drinks have proper support and if you have a carrier for them even better!
@@DollarDriver They have to put it in a drink holder and seal it up in a bag with the straws, napkins and silverware. Not us.
@@DollarDriver McDonald's is the only one that packs the food correctly. Drinks in a drink spill proof drink holder in the same bag as the food. Sealed with stickers.
Exactly I love McDonalds way of packaging!
Yes just try and tell them that lol!
She not new if she dash now that for top dasher
When you first start you can dash anytime but after a few weeks I believe you don’t get to anymore.
Lets see $10/ hr divided by 2...carry the one.....minus gas, wear.....COOL!!!
I would advise people dual apping and learning how to optimize their location and the time they spend to get the most money. When people first start off it's about learning the practical parts of the job. I always admire people who hustle, work hard and support others :)
Door dash is great if you want to ruin your car.
Some people don’t have a choice especially these days with the job market
1st step: DON'T DRIVE FOR DOORDASH!!!
It definitely is tough and depends on your market. I have found Spark is pretty good these days as well as Uber in some places
You good sir are a master teacher. 🫡
Thank you for the kind words! Let me know if you want me to make any other videos!
