In terms of xiv combo, I think it would be really cool and would make the classes have more depth if they (SE) had like, open chains. FOR EXAMPLE, in another mmo Flyff, you unlock abilities as you level right, but those abilities kinda look like puzzle pieces, some are starters, some are fillers and some are finishers, and you can put those abilities to make your own combos that go on one button. At least thats how it was like 10 years ago and it was fuckin sick. Being able to make your own combo with like 3 or 4 skills that were all on one button with a big finisher was dope.
I am tired of Tome Capping and Leveling (even one other job besides my main). That's why I stopped playing the game (after about 2500 hours). The problem isn't that capping tomes is boring, it's the fact there are tomes you need to farm out with a weekly cap. After all, if the content is so easy you can auto battle it. Why is it even there? To waste your time while getting you to log in and give engagement metrics. This may not be a problem if you like upkeep online gaming, but after so many years I am actually just done with this kind of design.
XIV Combo is the great balance it doesnt put the full rotation on one button but puts your main combo and AOE combo. Heck certian new ablities for DT on all job now act like how XIV combo does it, if anything it looks like a moving forward direction to give new ablities while keeping button bloat down. Now WRATH combo will but your whole rotation on one button. When you see the difference in power and scope between the two you will never mix them up. Wrath combo puts everything to one button, XIV combo puts your 1 2 3 into 1.
ngl cactbot for just basic callouts like "tankbuster" or "aoe" doesnt bother me, its like having a raid lead do super basic call outs. especially when doing fights, you havent done in years/months. but some people overly rely on it, and simply cannot play without it, and then i think it becomes an issue. ACR on the other hand, is a way worse offender in terms of mods imo.
Cactbot is almost the same as having a raidleader doing callouts. But the callouts arent wrong, unlike RL's. Xeno thought that Cactbot shows you stuff, but it doesnt show much besides arrows. The plogon that is at fault of showing AOEs is Splatoon.
@ that’s fair. I just don’t find cactbot nearly as egregious as ACR, or plenty of other plugins. Sounds like splatoon is a bit worse than Cactbot, imo tbh. Never met anyone who openly used splatoon, so had no idea what it did Ngl 😅
Splatoon doesn't really do callouts, instead you can set it to show lines, circles, donuts, cones in the game world. Also, unlike bossmod, you can basically create your own assist features and don't have to enable all overlays. So if you don't want it to be too cheat-y, you could just make it show arrows instead, or don't show the easier mechanics. Also, it sometimes doesn't work properly, and you can't map everything. In other words, I personally find bossmod way too egregious compared to Splatoon. I haven't used Cactbot really, as I don't use ACT as I'm not interested in DPS, just not dying.
@@klabence what exactly is the “bossmod” thing u mentioned? Excuse my ignorance, on that one. I want AoE in one button, I dont mind having 123 on one button or 2 (like warrior's 3rd is either selfheal or dmgup) I do not care if it makes game boring, get 2nd monitor to have subway surfers on loop then😂 Jokes aside I can see why it becomes boring, I have played healer with 1 dps and 1 dot :D but I have played pvp and I love that you have like 7 buttons to press, ofc I dont that minimal to normal gameplay, but man having less buttons is always a huge bonus. Also for those who have 2 hands: There are people who have only one or other physical limits thus xiv combo could be a lifesaver for them.
I mostly don't like the premise of xivcombo cuz I hate viper and picto's main combos. Like bruh these classes are boring as fuck already, I think I'd fall asleep at the wheel if this became the norm. And while combo 1-2-3 is honestly braindead, the small possibilty of a failure state is better than none at all. Especially if a job's burst is tied to finishing combos like gnb and samurai, I WANT you to be able to fuck it up, even if it's highly unlikely that you will. Players need to be punished for their fuckups, and it's why I hate changes for 'ease of use'. Just let people fuck up, they'll get better
The way FF works, if you have high ping it raises your animation ms as well. It makes it very hard to double weave and at some point single weave. Especially on jobs with 1.5-2s recasts. Noclippy reduces this so it simulates 40ms or lower i believe.
Looking at all those mods, while being a console player makes me think either add them to the game so we can use them to,or just finally splitt Console and PC…. We would survive it,console player base is stable-ish ……. …. .. . x) Like pc has sooooo much advantages over console players,I’m actually ridiculously proud of myself right now,for being able to clear savages and ultimates raw without any third party tools. So much stuff to give enhanced raiding advantages, imagen being able to zoom out a bit further,I would like that a lot,we still stuck on standard zoom out range…..feels bad x)
Cactbot isn't quite as bad as splatoon. I've experimented with both and cactbot only gives text callouts and a timeline for mechanics. Splatoon outright shows where every mechanic happens in the arena with overlays and such. Both are bad, but one is definitely worse
I agree definitely on the XIV combo plugin. When you look at the samurai default, there are 2x3 hit combos, and 1x2 hit. All 3 share the same first attack, then branch from there. XIV combo turns 6 buttons into 3. I know there are the purists out there like "but maintaining combo is a skill check", but those people are idiots, if they were so pure why aren't they playing pre-ARR version of the game? Surely it is the true pure FFXIV.
Well. I started at 6.0 and the use of mods specially this one just shows how skilless are mod users. Keep on using it, just show how stupid some people are. Imagine 6 buttons going to 3, omg what a change. Pfft.
SAM was the first job that I could not for the life of me figure out to play (controller player btw). To even set it up required me to completely redo how I set up my key binds, and I basically swore it off because of how difficult it was. I only started using it once I tried out XIV Combo. Of course now that I’ve played it a lot, I could do it without it, but I don’t want my hot bars bloated with abilities when I’m already using them in the same sequence. The only problem I see is the people who ONLY rely on it, and are essentially locked out from playing a class during patches. Don’t really care if people call it a skill issue or whatever, but id rather be comfortable on controller than not.
I want it on Paladin since the 1 2 3 combo doesn't have anything unique to them unlike War for example that the 3rd combo has one Eye for attack boost and the other Path is hp gain. Same thing with Ninja maybe we can keep the 123 on them and have the 3rd other option Armor Crush, Path for War, separate as it is rn
I think WoW on boarded a lot of people with addons to where it went from things like combining all of your bags into one window to having raid call outs over time. So using addons to make the game easier is just part of MMOs for millions of people. Old school (90s) MMO 'addons" were just hyper aggressive from the get go in terms of the power and were used in a much more competitive nature. Like ShowEQ or MacroQuest for EQ1 required esoteric knowledge to set up, ShowEQ in particular as you had to run it through a separate PC running dos, and just gave you god like knowledge/power in a game where raid bosses were open world and on 3-7 day respawn timers. The only other addon for EQ was WinEQ which allowed you to use EQ in windowed mode since it hardlocked you in full screen for like the first few years.
So the dude first makes a video where he is trying to normalize modding and cheats and now has a disclaimer in a video talking about best mods that he doesn't endorse them. The logic is astounding
Does cactbot do more than call outs? I really thought it just does like callouts and like someone has to make the trigger for the callout. I get it like an individual call out, Xenos has the stack marker or w/e but what the other thing cactbot does? edit- Oh ya, it has timeline. I'm googling cause I really thought it was just callouts.
Ye, the timeline is there, but besides the timing when downtime begins or ends, does it even matter that much? The fights are on rails, so you will remember the order of all mechs in the fight after couple of runs. The callouts are the far bigger thing in it as far as cheating is concerned imo.
its both, you can get only the timeline running so you know whats coming next and you can also have the callouts/solution right besides it with sound alarms
If you’ve been playing the game for 5+ years how are you still levelling anything?? lol I’ve been playing for just over a year and everything, including crafters, are 100. 😂 unless you simply haven’t wanted to bother of course!
When the next expansion drops and level cap is raised to 110, guess what you'll be doing? He's talking about having to level ALL your jobs, including the Hand/ Land classes, every time they raise the cap. Which has happened 5 times now for ARR players that have been around for more than 5 years.
Can someone do a tl;dr for what those addons do? I didn't quite get everything that was explained and as I don't use addons, I'm very unfamiliar with them. I know about ACT for dps meter and I think cactbot being the DBM of xiv, but other than that, haven't heard of most of them
Most of the mods in the top are either just cosmetic mods, or minor tweaks that help you play easier, or just let you change client-side stuff. The second tier is more of the same really, but after that it gets in to the mods that are deliberately built to help you with raiding, doing stuff like callouts or putting extra indicators on screen or automatically moving you around, the more 'cheaty' side of mods. If you want a more in-depth explanation on specific ones feel free to ask, but more or less that is the general gist of the stuff that was ranked.
Costmetics, ability to double weave on high ping (ff servers sucks ass), being able to zoom out a little more (or a hell of a lot more), QoL changes like ex.- hide the lock button of your hotbars so you don't accidentally press it, the ability to get a full timer (each second count), being able to see your hit box (dot), being able to change your titles to anything funny you want to, being able to see market board prices anywhere without having to be near a market board, play any orchestrion music on repeat if you want and create orchestrion playlists (override bgm), the ability to do mouseover without having to use a macro, dps counter, heads up display so you know what mechanic comes next and whats the solution, botting. thats it pretty much
So basically console players are the only players we KNOW for sure that are non cheaters? I wonder how many console players were part of the world's first drama.
Technically console players can't cheat but allegedly they can ask people to cheat for them for instance act parses/logs in general and death recap. But I wouldn't know anything about that.
no, you can use some external tools which I'm not gonna name on console to cheat too. But it is way more tedious to cheat on console than it is to cheat on PC. Still possible.
On todays episode, Xenos Actively tries not to immediatelt be hypnotized by the Glamorized, the pneumbra and Mare. May his soul rest in peaces after the mess he made.
Also, we really need to stop calling Addons & Plugins, Mods as a community. Completely different things and goes to show the understanding people even have about the topic using Mods as a blanket statement
Well, it's a bit difficult because WoW incorrectly calls mods add-ons, and plug-ins are just another word mods, although the term "plug-in" implies that the base software with their support in mind (which most certainly wouldn't apply to XIV, but would apply to ACT plug-ins, for example). The only meaningful distinction between the terms is whether they directly modify the game or are attached to it without any intervention. WoW's add-ons are hooked directly inside the game and significantly _modify_ core UI elements, etc. If you modify the way the game behaves in any way, then it's evidently a mod. ACT, presumably, would be an example of a non-mod illegal extension of the game, since it seems to be read-only.

I knew he was gonna mention Aion when he brought up xivcombo and I agree as someone who also played Aion I liked that system and wouldn’t kind having more combos in ffxiv, especially after seeing how it plays out on viper
When you asked if ppl were tired of lvling jobs and how long had they been playing for, I wished I'd been in the chat saying yes I'm tired of lvling and I've been doing that since 1.0.
Coming from someone with medium ping, I only use act, and am happy for it. My game doesn’t break at patch, I don’t feel lost, I get to manually learn a fight and memorize through experience, and the graphics and my character look great to me. I can understand some of these, and can see the clip mod being necessary in high ping situations, but not for everyone and I couldn’t care less about the pixel mod.
All this to say, I get to thoroughly enjoy extreme and savage content. So many of these do not need to be in the game.
Some of these are nice, but what are you going to do when Dalamud is down for a week?
Imaging getting used to ReAction, how does the game feel without it?
I try to avoid using plugins that actually change how i play the game (like combo plugins) but i definitely miss them whenever there's maintenance, waiting for news about when dalamud gets updated
A lot of people straight up don't play and wait the week or so for updates before they play again. Depending on the community you hang around with, you might see the liveliness of the game drop on patch day and then explode on mid patch day.
@@linus11vf1j for me, I simply don't raid until Dalamud is back. I can do casual contents with relative ease, but trying to raid without NoClippy is an actual nightmare due to latency.
also, could anyone explain how exactly ReAction (the Stacks thingy) works? Reading the tooltip makes me dizzy x-x
@@naoaozora so you wait a month or more to do new savage/ultimate until stuff that tells you everything there is to do gets updated?
This may not be a problem if you like upkeep online gaming, but after so many years I am actually just done with this kind of design.
proximity voicechat needs to be mandatory
XIV Combo is the great balance it doesnt put the full rotation on one button but puts your main combo and AOE combo. Heck certian new ablities for DT on all job now act like how XIV combo does it, if anything it looks like a moving forward direction to give new ablities while keeping button bloat down. Now WRATH combo will but your whole rotation on one button. When you see the difference in power and scope between the two you will never mix them up. Wrath combo puts everything to one button, XIV combo puts your 1 2 3 into 1.
Every time mods break shows me that people are too bad at the game to play it without them that they dont even want to play the game.
ngl cactbot for just basic callouts like "tankbuster" or "aoe" doesnt bother me, its like having a raid lead do super basic call outs. especially when doing fights, you havent done in years/months. but some people overly rely on it, and simply cannot play without it, and then i think it becomes an issue.
I just don’t rly use much mod related stuff myself anyway, like ever tbh, so many of these plug-ins I don’t even know, or understand 😅 I just know cactbot is a pretty commonly used one, and from what I’ve seen, I don’t find it super crazy imo

Hey I looked for it online and couldn’t find it, is it a real thing? I would love to try it it would be hilarious 😹
it would be essentially this: watch?v=q6ZCRIrKKsM
I mean i already lets trusts fight while i do other stuff on dps to level them. Granblue relink has a cool function where only certain difficulties can let you auto but the last two difficulties you are on manual only.
To be fair, that's not an online mmo but a singleplayer/co op rpg. I also hate leveling personally, but I get why they won't make it any easier ingame.

How the hell is mmo minion above splatoon 💀
What is splatoon?
Can you do a guide to install and use ACT please? I want to see my DPS in real time
my game does NOT look like that
So, should I be happy or sad that the only one of these I have even a small idea of what it does is ACT?
watching xeno make so many of these S tier is so soothing for the soul, please Yoshi P i just want to scroll back a little further! (also sad to see no artisan on the list, this saves me so many crafting macros lol)
Nice. Only one I have from the list its the Orchestrion Plugin so guess Im still redeemable lol
only one ive heard of is act i had no idea all this other stuff existed
I want AoE in one button, I dont mind having 123 on one button or 2 (like warrior's 3rd is either selfheal or dmgup) I do not care if it makes game boring, get 2nd monitor to have subway surfers on loop then😂
Jokes aside I can see why it becomes boring, I have played healer with 1 dps and 1 dot :D but I have played pvp and I love that you have like 7 buttons to press, ofc I dont that minimal to normal gameplay, but man having less buttons is always a huge bonus.
Also for those who have 2 hands: There are people who have only one or other physical limits thus xiv combo could be a lifesaver for them.
Not gonna lie I thought he was putting them all in Mandatory at first
love the cammy bit so much
Xeno playing on EU perfectly with high ping, bro 100% uses no clippy and ffxivalexander lmao
Replace the PvE abilities with the PvP abilities xffing

What does no clippy do?
it assists high ping players to properly weave their abilities as if they didnt have latency issues
Like pc has sooooo much advantages over console players,I’m actually ridiculously proud of myself right now,for being able to clear savages and ultimates raw without any third party tools. So much stuff to give enhanced raiding advantages, imagen being able to zoom out a bit further,I would like that a lot,we still stuck on standard zoom out range…..feels bad x)
If Splatoon is straight to hell, Cactbot needs to be too.
Cactbot isn't quite as bad as splatoon. I've experimented with both and cactbot only gives text callouts and a timeline for mechanics. Splatoon outright shows where every mechanic happens in the arena with overlays and such. Both are bad, but one is definitely worse
Cactbot is no where close to Splatoon lol
I agree definitely on the XIV combo plugin. When you look at the samurai default, there are 2x3 hit combos, and 1x2 hit. All 3 share the same first attack, then branch from there. XIV combo turns 6 buttons into 3. I know there are the purists out there like "but maintaining combo is a skill check", but those people are idiots, if they were so pure why aren't they playing pre-ARR version of the game? Surely it is the true pure FFXIV.
Strange cope
Well. I started at 6.0 and the use of mods specially this one just shows how skilless are mod users. Keep on using it, just show how stupid some people are. Imagine 6 buttons going to 3, omg what a change. Pfft.
If you include the AOE combo, it turns 9 buttons into 5. That a huge difference in terms of keyboard space
GOOD

I must be waaaaaaaaay in the minority to not really enjoy any mods. I'm old school tho.
Asherons Call my first old mmo 1999 and people used mods which they were okay with iirc
Yall took "old school" and immediately applied your own definitions of what that meant lmao.
No beard mod... shame.
Mare and Penumbra should not be mandatory, send that to the shadow realm
but going on a Mod-beast safari hunt in the balmung quicksands is so fun, though! :^)
@@baronfuath5872 I've been thinking about doing this sometime in the near future. IT actually sounds like fun

Why do you ask a question if youre just gonna google it and answer urself after?
Ye, the timeline is there, but besides the timing when downtime begins or ends, does it even matter that much? The fights are on rails, so you will remember the order of all mechs in the fight after couple of runs. The callouts are the far bigger thing in it as far as cheating is concerned imo.
its both, you can get only the timeline running so you know whats coming next and you can also have the callouts/solution right besides it with sound alarms
If you’ve been playing the game for 5+ years how are you still levelling anything?? lol I’ve been playing for just over a year and everything, including crafters, are 100. 😂 unless you simply haven’t wanted to bother of course!
a friend of mine has been player for longer than i have and still has about 6 jobs maxed out... he don't care about the rest haha
When the next expansion drops and level cap is raised to 110, guess what you'll be doing? He's talking about having to level ALL your jobs, including the Hand/ Land classes, every time they raise the cap. Which has happened 5 times now for ARR players that have been around for more than 5 years.
MediaTourStrummer Tssk
Can someone do a tl;dr for what those addons do? I didn't quite get everything that was explained and as I don't use addons, I'm very unfamiliar with them. I know about ACT for dps meter and I think cactbot being the DBM of xiv, but other than that, haven't heard of most of them
TL:DR the mods turn you more gay or bad hair loss as seen in Xenos case
Most of the mods in the top are either just cosmetic mods, or minor tweaks that help you play easier, or just let you change client-side stuff. The second tier is more of the same really, but after that it gets in to the mods that are deliberately built to help you with raiding, doing stuff like callouts or putting extra indicators on screen or automatically moving you around, the more 'cheaty' side of mods. If you want a more in-depth explanation on specific ones feel free to ask, but more or less that is the general gist of the stuff that was ranked.
Costmetics, ability to double weave on high ping (ff servers sucks ass), being able to zoom out a little more (or a hell of a lot more), QoL changes like ex.- hide the lock button of your hotbars so you don't accidentally press it, the ability to get a full timer (each second count), being able to see your hit box (dot), being able to change your titles to anything funny you want to, being able to see market board prices anywhere without having to be near a market board, play any orchestrion music on repeat if you want and create orchestrion playlists (override bgm), the ability to do mouseover without having to use a macro, dps counter, heads up display so you know what mechanic comes next and whats the solution, botting.
thats it pretty much
Lmao this outta be good
nah as someone who has been playing for over 5 years I'm sick of leveling every job to max, thanks autoduty for your service
Slippery slope like I keep tryna tell you maflaqqas
So basically console players are the only players we KNOW for sure that are non cheaters? I wonder how many console players were part of the world's first drama.
Technically console players can't cheat but allegedly they can ask people to cheat for them for instance act parses/logs in general and death recap. But I wouldn't know anything about that.
no, you can use some external tools which I'm not gonna name on console to cheat too. But it is way more tedious to cheat on console than it is to cheat on PC. Still possible.
There is actually a way to use xivAlexander on a PS4. You proxy it through your PC iirc.
You can use xivalexander on console but its complicated to set it up.
You would be surprised that the radar callout cheat boss mod has over 500k downloads atm which includes a auto rotation bot
99% correct tier list, except XIV Combo take, *Think controllers and Accessibility*
Wake up tuesday morning, set up mmo minino before work, come back capped for the week yessir.
