42:33 Its been several months since I played Rebirth so I may be forgeting something but, about the cellular degradation thing, didn't Crisis Core state Cloud is different from normal SOLDIERs because he wasn't injected with Jenova cells, but rather Sephiroth cells instead? That was the whole reason Hollander and Genesis wanted to get him at the end of CC. They all thought Sephiroth was dead, and Zack's Jenova cells from the "normal" SOLDIER procedure contaminated the Sephiroth cells he was given in the mansion, so they said Cloud was the only one left with pure Sephiroth cells, which could actually CURE the degradation. Like I said, its been months since I played Rebirth, so maybe I missed something that retconned/explained this. Can anyone confirm pls? Because if not, its entirely possible that this is just a red herring for something else, as Cloud technically can't suffer degradation.
Hohkay, so Zack and Cloud are infused with Sephiroth cells in order to create Sephiroth clones for the purpose of testing the Ruinion theory, but they are deemed failures and left in pods for 4 years. After their escape, shinra begins hunting them down for being escaped shinra property and a potential liability to their brand, meanwhile Genesis is seeking them because he thinks that the Sephiroth cells may be able to cure degradation, because Sephiroth does not experience degradation. When this hypothesis is tested with Zack, it fails immediately. While genesis suspects that cloud having Sephiroth cells would mean that those cells can cure degradation, there's no active proof of that, and all of the evidence suggests that it doesn't, as even Sephiroth cannot share his immunity to degradation. By the end of the game it is intentionally left vague whether or not cloud will degrade, which then intermingles with the reunion Sephiroth mind control stuff. Cloud thinks this is because of the degradation, when it's actually the reunion theory at work
@@G_Rez Ah, gotcha. Thanks. So what I get then, is that just like Rebirth's ending, the pure Sephiroth cells thing was also left ambiguous. There's no solid evidence that they could cure the degradation, but since Zack stopped Hollander and Genesis from getting to Cloud and trying, we have no confirmation that they can't either. Not entirely sure what you meant about Sephiroth being unable to share his immunity to degradation, though. Again, maybe this is something I missed on Rebirth. From what I remember in CC, he simply refused to share his cells with Genesis, so they couldn't even try to see if it worked or not. Now Rebirth left its own take on the topic unclear as well, with Cloud misinterpreting his bouts as symptoms of degradation, when its actually Sephiroth himself influencing him. So I guess it is still possible this plot point from CC will come back in part 3 to explain why Cloud is immune to the degradation that affect SOLDIERs, and the actual issue is Sephiroth himself exerting his influence on him.
I believe in one of the ultimanias it does actually explicitly state that degradation does NOT affect S-Type SOLDIERs like Zack and Cloud. I can’t remember if it was Crisis Core Complete Guide or Remake ultimania, but it is stated somewhere that degradation doesn’t affect them. In the Crisis core complete guide it says that Cloud and Zack have S-Cells, and the text speculates that the cells are likely related to Sephiroth due to them being callled “S-cells,” tho the exact relationship isn’t specified. In rebirth though we get to see a brief flashback in the Shinra Mansion where we hear Hojo talking about “S blood and S tissue” and stuff, making that even more likely. I’ve been on a lore dive lately so it’s all fresh in my mind. Edit - just found it. It’s in the Japanese ultimania for ff7 remake where it says s types don’t degrade.
@@samoyed7895 See, I thought I also remembered something about that too, because in CC they said only G-type SOLDIERSs suffered degradation, with no mention of S-types having that problem. I didn't know the Ultimania confirmed it. But then, why do characters in Rebirth (I think president Shinra first mentioned it in Remake) talk as if every SOLDIER eventually goes through this? That's what I don't get. Is it a retcon, did they forget, or are they gaslighting us on purpose?
@@jackjacques7495not quite sure. I can ONLY assume that most SOLDIERs are g-type, although that seems kind of crazy since project-g was considered to be the failed project while project-a was successful, leading to hojo becoming head of the science department. Then again, I think the purpose of those projects was to make an “ancient,” not actually to make soldiers. And I don’t think it’s ever explicitly stated what type “normal” soldiers are. Just that degradation arises from the Jenova cells not being perfectly integrated into the host’s DNA, and that Zack and Cloud were part of the sephiroth copy project and were treated with S cells. I don’t think any part of the compilation actually tells us HOW normal soldiers are given Jenova cells, just how Seph, Gen, and Angeal got theirs. So I’m not sure if they’re retconning it to say that most soldiers are g-type not s-type, or if they just never actually explained how most soldiers got their Jenova cells. My guess is that s vs g was a concept first thought of for crisis core, and now that they’re trying to tie all the compilation together and link it back to the original soldiers in the OG it’s just leading to some inconsistencies.
Speaking of mini games my hope for the snow boarding minigame is that it plays just like ssx tricky and has many tracks and has the whole cast is playable and if you get the highest score with the whole party you unlock sephiroth thats just my hope anyways.
Would be funnier if they doubled down on the plat trophy and made sephiroth like majima everywhere from yakuza kiwami and he came to bully cloud at every minigame 😂😂😂😂
I'm still bummed out that we are going to see less Minigames just because some people were obsessed with trophy hunting. I know there's another portion of people that don't like how some minigames were interjected within the story and I kinda understand that, they should have went the Yakuza route rather than just decreasing the amount.
i think game 2 having more minigames than 3 is intentional. the vibe of rebirth is a fun globetrotting adventure, and the vibe of part 3 with be hella dark. it will make us remember rebirth fondly and help give it its own identity
Honestly I'm okay with that as long as they add some new ones and keep Queen's Blood, not having all the same minigames would give us more reason to replay Rebirth in the future and would also give each game a more unique identity
A couple of minigames had to be there bc they were part of the story (the parade and the dolphin), Gold Saucer HAD to have minigames bc ppl absolutely would've complained. It's the random games like the frog minigames, Fort Condor, Gears and Gambits, and Chocobo gliding that annoyed me bc they felt shoehorned in. Not to mention they make you replay a lot of these games if you want the platinum. So the volume wouldn't have been so bad if it weren't for the repetitiveness of it all
I hate when fans pit aerith vs tifa. Because it just isn't a reality. The book that came out as a sequel to remake while also its entire context being a prequel for both tifa and aerith. It was an incredible narrative. And you get to see these two get even closer in their lives during the adventure.
Queen's Blood was pretty damn fun. Absolutely crushing the AI once you fully understand the mechanics is so satisfying. I took several screenshots of my best wins. My favorite is a 102-7 win against whatshername during the Cruise Tournament Final on my Hard Mode playthrough.
Knights theory: ancients have always had some connection or knowledge of a multiverse, and that it isn't just jenova and sephiroth screwing around that creates it. The multi-verse has always been a thing. Going off that idea, knights of the round could have three multiverse options. Option 1: pulls in heroes from across time and space, and we get vague references or straight up cameos from characters across the final fantasy franchise. Option 2: it reacts specifically to the individual who uses it, and pulls in their multiverse selves. A way to see all the different iterations of cloud we know of, as well as fresh concepts. Option 3: it summons individuals that the planet has deemed heroes across time. Maybe their particular essences didn't dissipate into the life stream, the planet preserved part of them into materia. Away to See the original heroes who fought jenova in the past, angeal, Zack, avalanche, and anyone else who has died. Knights of the round is such a crazy concept of a materia that it has the potential to be some of the best fan service in the game. Or it could be history/lore like what Max is saying, 47:52 , either way I'll be happy.
08:14 Well. That means things may get mixed around but that also means every main story beat from the original will still be in the game. Icicle Inn is the next stop!
I hope they ditch the warmth mini game from the OG. That was one of my least favorite parts of FFVII. That and that stupid map you had to go through to get Typhoon.
@TheSteelers4190 yes. There are so many “theories” about what’s going to happen next and i don’t understand why. I think we will need to climb the wintry mountain to get to it, but how that happens could vary (most likely what Max said - the Tiny Bronco will probably break down. Either way, the point is that no matter how we get there, we are going to the Icicle Inn next.
Really hope it isnt a multiverse. I much prefer that the "timelines" are actually the possibilities that could happen or failed to happen within the lifestream. We could then see what aerith does in a sense to strengthen the planet ready for it to defend itself. Would be cool to see Zack and Aerith finally reunited (regardless of whether they get together or not) When aerith speaks with the planet she can see the different possibilities playing out, but only one will happen. Now cloud can see this too but is struggling to separate fantasy from reality. I think his break will happen when he realises the truth about himself and aeriths death. The cracks in the sky signify that that timeline/possibility is no longer possible to happen, such as anything with zack as he is actually dead. I like this as it removes the plotholes that inevitably come from timelines, or worse yet they devalue the sacrifice that people make (creating a scenario much like ricks perspective from rick and morty)
12:10 In OG FF7 after Midgar to the Icicle Inn, the group moves forward by looking for Sephiroth like in Rebirth. So it is more similar than you make it seem.
The magic of rebirth, and the trilogy in general, is how deep the battle system can be. But how forgiving it is for the new player or average player. As much as you want to learn the battle system and invest it, you get back. I remember playing through REMAKE using almost Cloud exclusively. And I made it through the game fine. No issue, no major hurtles even. But when I went through it a second time I started swapping around and learning everyone. And then the 3rd time on Hard Mode I was setting players up to attack, swapping, setting commands, landing perfect dodges, taking advantage of who needs higher def and blocking when IM NOT in control of them. And I feel in love with the depth, complexity, and enjoyment that comes from getting it perfect.
Thanks for sharing Max - two great articules that really hammers down the developer and director's vision for this game from the beginning of this project and how we are enjoying its fruition in the two games that have since been released in the trilogy. I"m stoked for the final one to see where it will lead to with the character and this particular franchise.
I'm expecting bone village to be a shinra funded excavation team set up around the now-ruins of the city of the ancients, and that's where we'll find the key of the ancients this time around. Made no sense finding a key at the bottom of the ocean anyway.
Go to Hong Kong and experience it for real. seeing a Chinese man speaking English in a British accent the first time was a surreal experience that kind of messed with my brain.
@@ThatBillmanGuy That messed with your brain? Do you live in like a super rural place? Go to any big city and you'll see tons of people with diverse ethnicities speaking with the local accent. Like go to London, you'll see plenty of Chinese people with British accents, just like you'll see tons of Asian people with American accents in New York or Los Angeles.
Since the Temple of the Ancients is where Bone Village was in the original, I'd love to see Bone Village appear where the Temple of the Ancients was in the original.
They could implement a save game transition that will apply your previous game map data to the next; so depending on your map data progress it would impact your beginning map data, which also gives incentives to playing Rebirth.
I see what ur saying about how final fantasy 7 is changing the other final fantasy games because final fantasy 16 reminded me a lot of ff7 crisis core remaster and ff7 remake and ff7 rebirth 🐦🔥 ! I love all of the ff7 games including crisis core. And I noticed the approach they took from how u do missions and side quests from those games were similar in ff 16 and I really liked that ! The only thing I didn't like about ff16 is that Clive has this outfit he wears at the beginning. That has like a cape on like 1 of his legs but has cool armor everywhere else. I only wish u could go back to that outfit whenever u want. I like the newer outfit . But it's like cmon man u start off with this really cool outfit , and then go into the other , and it is cool , but it's too castle vania for me to want to always want it. I would like to see the clothes changing option they have at that stone at that main hideout u get to plan ur missions from in ff16 eventually include that clothing option as a choice that can be picked at anytime. That's the only thing I didn't like about the game and in my opinion that's saying a lot because we don't get good stories very often. The story was amazing the characters felt real , and were very likable unlike games like the last of us 2 where after playing it I contemplated suicide that's how much I hated that game and it's characters and felt them being so selfish and have an extreme lack of humility that it just makes u as the player feel like ur playing as ppl who have egos so very big but yet would be critical of some1 else who would have an ego half their size ! They are prideful but have nothing to be proud about! But when it comes to these ff7 games and ff16 I loved them all ! And love the characters and love the fights and everything! I basically loved everything! With ff7 there isn't 1 thing I didn't like ! I feel they really did right by the fans ! In case u didn't realize Neil druckman! That's what doing right by the fans looks like ! Honestly in my opinion I would like to see a final fantasy be more bloody for once with the approach they already take but just add decapitations and dismemberments and make it bloody ! I'm not necessarily saying it should be for ff7 . But maybe when they go to make ff17 keep that in mind! Like how the newer God of war games has some bloody and or decapitations and dismemberments! It will get ur viewers and players really involved! And really excited! Or maybe have an option where u can choose at the beginning of the game to play the family friendly version or do u want the all out badass version! I would love that and would pick that choice Everytime and I believe most ppl would agree!
I think it’d be cool if in the endgame, we get to have a online chat area in the high wind where we can battle each other in Queen’s blood or some other mobile games. Like have it as an option to take everything that we’ve unlocked in the game and fight against others. Or have that as a ultimate DLC later on, which could also lead to further DLC for new card packs, special weapons, etc..
21:31 I don’t think the towers will be in part three, at least not in the same way. My personal theory is that Chadley’s story is going to somehow fill in the gap of how Hojo gets uploaded into the Worldwide Network for Dirge of Cerberus. As they said in game, the towers were meant to establish a network separate from Shina across the world. That plus the suspicious Hojo/Chadley cut scene… 👀
I kinda of hope we don't see aeries at all until right at the end when she summons holy in part 3. I think the emptiness I felt when playing the original needs to be there.
@@gabrielnovais871 You can argue its still a build up. We're still not entirely sure what they have in store for Zack or that was really it, especially with that ambiguous one liner
The theory of the white Whispers being the spirits of the Ancients is interesting. I always thought that they were just Whispers made by the Life Stream to counter Sephiroth’s black Whispers but maybe both ideas could be right
Same! I'm personally betting on an announcement at the game awards. I would wager we get a release winter 2025 (as in January through March) but I guess it could be spring or summer. Hope it's sooner than that though.
Yeah no wonder why they only sold 2 million. Didn't do such a legendary game justice, it should at least sell as much as Wukong or Hogwarts legacy which is 20 million+
Yo, I didn't actually play the OG but I've been following this specific game through social media and through advent children and anything else I could watch on UA-cam! Spoilers have never been thing that I have been worried about ever with this especially because I've always been curious! And since I'm more open to that than other gamers on UA-cam, I very easily found out that the game was different and it kind of pissed some OG fans off. But I was eating it up, I think I picked up on the changes pretty quickly once they were pointed out, and I could still see the traces of the old tying in with new - i've heard that Midgar was never a very noisy or populated city, but it is in this one! I love it… changes are 100% welcome From what I've heard about the changes, the extra Storey bits may not be necessary, but they are realistic and much more interesting in a modern sense ❤
IIRC, there was a mutiny on the Highwind in the original game, allowing Cid to take it back. But it was a tell, not show deal. That would be cool to see/actually do.
The characterization in this game was so good, i actually cared a bit when cait sith bought it. Or at least for the moogle. I also no longer want to drown Yuffie.
The game is likely to open up with us heading north. We'll probably start in the bone village and get a plan for heading north through the mountains and really start into the snow area. I don't think the highwind will happen until 1/3 or a 1/4 of the way through the main plot. If we map out where we are right now vs where we need to end up. We still need to head north, do that entire, lose you know who, have you know what happen, have barret tifa and crew do you know what. And That is likely to be the opening 1/3 of the game. Because then we need crew to find you know who, and let tifa do you now what. And then there's the entire weapon stuff. [redacted] materia and returning to [redacted]. And this is not including optional stuff, that isn't going to be optional. Like wutai. I imagine part 3 is going to be as big as part 2.
i do hope they didn't erase the bad stuff like Cerberus, hell it would be cool if they "stop" cerberus from happening and recruit them to help with the whole weapon problem, because it seems there's more than we remember.
Max thinking that knight of the round impacting the story in the way he thinks is some mad scientist theory. I personally think it will be just a summon, or it wont be in the game at all. knights of the round in OG FF7 has total of 12 knights and i cant really see that happening all on screen at the same time with how the summons work in remake and rebirth.
Personally? I loved the ps1 era mostly 8 and Tactics with 7 as a close third. Though man I dread what would happen to FF8R and FFTR. If they would be the new FF13 and become shit. I just want to see 8 + T receive some love. Regardless if they become action rpgs or get HD2D demakes.
Tactics got a remixed release in FFT: War of the Lions. They added a bunch of animated cutscenes, and updated the soundtrack, as well as a few small QoL changes. They did add some nonsense MTX for people that wanted to avoid unlocking things. But overall, it's a nice update.
I always see this "There is so many people that are willing to go with the flow of the game" as you said let's go after sephiroth okay let's gooo, as a proof of trust into the dev team. With the Quality and dedication to Remake and Rebirth they earned the trust of the fans and you don't have the usual "ahhhh i dunno maaaaan i really hope they don't fuck it uppppp...." what you usually get. I am 100% willing to trust them to get this new story to a satisfactory ending for everyone, old fans and new given how much love and detail is sprinkled into these 2 games already. :D
He definitely is man people hate him. Started with kingdom hearts which everyone pretends to hate for some reason, and he never really outran it. Now, any mechanic in FF that fans don’t like they blame on him. It’s very common lol
Not just for gameplay. People who didn’t like the direction the story was taking thanks to additions like the Whispers were also quick to blame Nomura for inserting “Kingdom Hearts bullshit” into Final Fantasy, even though Nomura was one of the people on the dev team who advocated for not deviating too much from the course of the original game.
@@cyrushalberd624it’s also funny because whatever they call “kingdom hearts bullshit,” just means “mysterious philosophical storytelling elements that have existed since ff1,” ie these types of fantasy tropes were part of FF years before people started to bash Kingdom Hearts for it.
So are we gonna canonize the "Return" for part 3, it seems fitting, Especially if my new theory is that both, parts 1 and 2 are Cloud reliving the events of the game while submerged in the lifestream, and Aerith in the lifestream entered his "world" and was trying to help him, recover, in part 1 she goes with the memories of what happened, but that was taken from her, in the end.
I think Max made a very good point about too many cooks in the kitchen for most creative works these days and that being the downfall of them. At some point, you need to pick a good, small set of leaders for a project, and trust their vision.
remember when jordan held up is fingers when the bulls kept winning the finals championship and kept adding fingers like we aint done yet. I feel that way in wanting SE to remake 8, 9, 10, etc
I love that Hamaguchi and Yoshida are the future of Square-Enix. I respect Nomura for what he's done, but I've always felt like his style had a time and place and it didn't last for very long and works much better outside of the FF franchise; he's also much better at character design than, y'know, game direction. Hamaguchi and Yoshi-P have a much deeper respect and love for the series as a whole, akin to how Sakamoto feels about it. I mean, it definitely seems like there's a reason Sakamoto has drifted back into Square's orbit after doing his own thing for so long. Also, as a complete non-sequitur, they're absolutely not going to do the "Ubisoft Tower" approach with the third game. You're given the Highwind almost immediately, and you already did the ground-based globetrotting in Rebirth, so an entirely different exploration system will have to be devised to accompany that kind of dramatic shift. I don't personally understand the need for developers to constantly gamify exploration, but it is what it is at this point.
I don't think it's fair to claim Nomura's directing style doesn't fit FF (KH2 and 3 are very differently designed games, and Remake feels like an organic evolution of FFX, a game Toriyama made) or that his respect or whatever abstract value we really can't actually calculate is not as deep as the new guys, considering he's been heavily involved with FF since IV and had a huge influence on OG VII, not to mention the overall FF franchise. To say that Nomura doesn't somehow fit the FF style when he's only actually directed VIIR, but Yoshi P (the guy behind the MMO that some people like to claim is not even a FF simply for being a MMO) and Hamaguchi (Who only has made Rebirth, a game that builds on Remake and is referred to by some critics as being a biiit of a copy of Ubisoft Open World game design) is kinda silly. The idea that Nomura was or should just be a character design guy has never been true and a waste of his talents, I think!
@@Dzzy123he wasn’t the creative director of the game, he was just the producer. And even if you didn’t like the game, just because they made one game that you don’t like they should never work on a new FF game again? Why can’t they get the chance to improve what worked and scrap what didn’t? Rebirth wouldn’t have been as good if they didn’t get to work the same way with Remake.
The Remake project was not a bad effort at all. The battle design, graphics, character development and music were all top-notch. Even a lot of the extra dialogue was excellent. However it is strange that its weakest aspect is the overall story changes and some of the omitted script seeing as this should have been the easiest part since it was already there! Kato's original dialogue was the driving force behind the original as well as the overall story beats. Its easy to say now bit it would have been a great move to pergaps include a genuine original fan to help with the story changes so certain scenes were not changed and some others were, perhaps the bigger stuff could have landed just as the OG. But admittedly that is very difficult to do.
After paying full price and playing Remake. I’m just going to hold out for a true FF7 remaster. I understand that these games are its own alternate universe. It’s just not for me. Maybe after the rest of the sequels come out and go on sale for $20 or less, I’ll pick them up. But if they were to release a 100% original FF7 remaster tomorrow, I would drop whatever amount of cash they want for a collectors edition.
I agree about the fighting game! If it would have been more like punch out it would probably have been my favourite. It was good in concept but was ultimately too unclear in its "tell" animations I think

Wait they literally said they're going to put less because of those people?
i think game 2 having more minigames than 3 is intentional. the vibe of rebirth is a fun globetrotting adventure, and the vibe of part 3 with be hella dark. it will make us remember rebirth fondly and help give it its own identity
So the volume wouldn't have been so bad if it weren't for the repetitiveness of it all
They said they would make throphies easier. Not that they would remove minigames or drastically reduce them.
Really happy to see Curious Corduroy get more attention ! He deserves it.
Babe wake up, Max is talking about FF7!
What babe?
Again!
Also reacting to FF Union!
I hate when fans pit aerith vs tifa. Because it just isn't a reality. The book that came out as a sequel to remake while also its entire context being a prequel for both tifa and aerith. It was an incredible narrative. And you get to see these two get even closer in their lives during the adventure.
I hope Queen's Blood returns for Part 3
Queen's Blood was pretty damn fun. Absolutely crushing the AI once you fully understand the mechanics is so satisfying. I took several screenshots of my best wins. My favorite is a 102-7 win against whatshername during the Cruise Tournament Final on my Hard Mode playthrough.
They've already confirmed it'll be back in Part 3, and with expanded mechanics to keep it fresh.
Part 3 title reveal on the anniversary of the Remake announcement, June 15, 2025. MMW.
And then release it in 2027, the 40th, 30th and VIIth anniversaries of FF, FFVII and Remake.
7/7/27 would be pretty amazing
I have a hard time to think it won't win GOTY. Such a massive and masterful crafted game.
FF Union really good when it comes to all FF stuff
Yup!
Hamaguchi gave me a hug when I met him.
08:14 Well. That means things may get mixed around but that also means every main story beat from the original will still be in the game. Icicle Inn is the next stop!
As they've said from the onset of this project.
@@Dis2good Yup. They've repeatedly been consistent in their messaging, and their word has been kept by what we've seen on screen.
You mean exactly like they've been saying since before Rebirth released?
18:30 As a game dev, I can't emphasize how incredible it is that Rebirth was made in 3-4 years. It's an absolutely massive achievement.
Pure wizards
Part 3s gonna be crazy
There's also a written interview with the director of Rebirth and talked about various topics like Queens Blood, The division of Ch.14 , etc
Where it was published?
@@Dracobyte it should be along their yt channel's community section where the link to it can be found
It's said a lot but this translator Square has is goated.
Really hope it isnt a multiverse. I much prefer that the "timelines" are actually the possibilities that could happen or failed to happen within the lifestream. We could then see what aerith does in a sense to strengthen the planet ready for it to defend itself. Would be cool to see Zack and Aerith finally reunited (regardless of whether they get together or not)
When aerith speaks with the planet she can see the different possibilities playing out, but only one will happen.
Loved rebirth. I just wish Zach’s gameplay moments weren’t so boring. Was hoping for more
Naoki Hamaguchi as FF17 director would be great
I'm absolutely fine if part 3 is more streamlined. Play all parts back to back and you'll have plenty of exploration.
At the airport and this just dropped. Talk about perfect timing 💯💯
Max talking about FF 7? I'm in.
Max talking about FFVII? My favorite entertainment
"we need to let characters go"
No. I will never let these characters go. EVER!
The british accent is hilarious on Hamaguchi
Go to Hong Kong and experience it for real. seeing a Chinese man speaking English in a British accent the first time was a surreal experience that kind of messed with my brain.
@@ThatBillmanGuy That messed with your brain? Do you live in like a super rural place? Go to any big city and you'll see tons of people with diverse ethnicities speaking with the local accent. Like go to London, you'll see plenty of Chinese people with British accents, just like you'll see tons of Asian people with American accents in New York or Los Angeles.
Final Fantasy Union is such an amazing channel. I love their granular style of videos
4:19 They created a standalone queensblood client in windows?....... Can you add matchmaking and release it please?
The reunion is at hand…
FFUnion is such a cool channel, their content is awesome!
I really respect Hamaguchi (think I spelled that correctly). He seems like a humble man and clearly has passion for FF
An FF7 vid from Max immediately lifts my day from meh to highlight of the week.
Since the Temple of the Ancients is where Bone Village was in the original, I'd love to see Bone Village appear where the Temple of the Ancients was in the original.
More FF7 goodness 🌌
Part 3 is going to be awesome! Thanks for the reaction.
Cool to see FF Union's video here.
They are one of the Best.
That translation 😮💛
excited for part 3👏
I kinda of hope we don't see aeries at all until right at the end when she summons holy in part 3. I think the emptiness I felt when playing the original needs to be there.
Considering how Rebirth ended, I doubt it. Characters like Aerith and Zack will definitely be more prominent in the 3rd game
@@martinaguiluz4063unfortunately. Zack's on Rebirth was just a terrible fan service without adding anything to the story
@@gabrielnovais871 You can argue its still a build up. We're still not entirely sure what they have in store for Zack or that was really it, especially with that ambiguous one liner
We in here boys
The theory of the white Whispers being the spirits of the Ancients is interesting. I always thought that they were just Whispers made by the Life Stream to counter Sephiroth’s black Whispers but maybe both ideas could be right
If only they gave this kind of treatment to their other IPs. Brave Fencer Musashi, Parasite Eve... Maybe I'm asking for too much..
I really hope they announce some PC release news soon. This wait is killing me.
@bruhm0ment6000 og ff7 hasn't even sold that many copies and it's had almost 20 years to do it, and had several console re-releases to help it.
@candyhandsjf7288 Unfortunate
Just buy the PS5 if you can't wait, it was worth it just for this game imo, and then you'll have it ready for part 3
I love it… changes are 100% welcome
From what I've heard about the changes, the extra Storey bits may not be necessary, but they are realistic and much more interesting in a modern sense ❤
IIRC, there was a mutiny on the Highwind in the original game, allowing Cid to take it back. But it was a tell, not show deal. That would be cool to see/actually do.
lotr is one whole story split into three parts
Ok?
@ShikiRyougi05 yeah Tolkien wrote as one story which then the editors split into three volumes
Yeah!
I liked the fighting game. Chocobo racing was my fav. Full Mario kart game in it

It’ll probably happen when the part 3 teaser trailer drops next year.

2:35 did they update the piano game prompts? That bit on the right wasn't there when I played.

Gonna listen to this while I write my essay on Death of a Salesman before finals week
@@daehan8227 it'll never happen. People only care about ff7
Would be sick of the Queen’s Blood playing robot eventually turned into Claptrap.
I'm still confused about why the darts game wasn't in it.
Really not a fan of all the sequel stuff but the rest of the Remake project has been nigh perfection
I’m a simple man; I see Max and FF7 in the same sentence, I click.
One whole hour of FF7 discussion. LET'S GO!
I dont think nomura is controversial in the ff community. I think people love Nomura and majority of the games he's worked on
He definitely is man people hate him.
I hope we can get outfits like in ever crisis
So are we gonna canonize the "Return" for part 3, it seems fitting,
Especially if my new theory is that both, parts 1 and 2 are Cloud reliving the events of the game while submerged in the lifestream, and Aerith in the lifestream entered his "world" and was trying to help him, recover, in part 1 she goes with the memories of what happened, but that was taken from her, in the end.
I think Max made a very good point about too many cooks in the kitchen for most creative works these days and that being the downfall of them. At some point, you need to pick a good, small set of leaders for a project, and trust their vision.
12:09 i love and grateful to be in that team ❤
Im the voice actor for unnamed rock #3 in part 3.
remember when jordan held up is fingers when the bulls kept winning the finals championship and kept adding fingers like we aint done yet.
After XVI, I don't think Yoshida should be a leader in another single player FF game.
MAX WAKE UP MAI SF6 TEASER JUST DROPPED
Nothing but respect for Hamaguchi
Hey Gents! Who the YT in the second part of the video? Love the commentary
Curious Corduroy
They really went bonkers with the mini games
I agree about the fighting game! If it would have been more like punch out it would probably have been my favourite. It was good in concept but was ultimately too unclear in its "tell" animations I think
