Jesus, how could this even happen? I see some of Arcane's brilliant art direction, but that's about it. Just imagine if in this game You were the vampire. Awesome new abilities, sneaking and snacking at night. Of course it would need a proper story to be interesting at all, but just the premise itself is intriguing. Sure, it might become too similar to Dishonored, but I want more Dishonored, so why not?
He has to in order for developers to want to keep sponsoring the channel and send games early. If he completely shits on every game they wouldn’t want anything to do with him
some times jake its okay to Say that a Game was made with Zero Love, is Garbage gameplay and Just over all a SHIT Game especially for the Price, Grow Some balls and Don't Suger coat things TO much, its okay to be Harsh
In life, its better to see the positive than always spouting the negative. The world needs more positivity, even if something is bad, it doesntvneed to be announced in an abusive way.
I’d be interested to know the story behind this game’s development. Did Arkane get tired of interactive sims and really want to make a looter shooter or were they pushed in this direction for money reasons? Did they really think this was complete or were they hoping to delay it another year? Did they lose a bunch of talent and this is all the new team is capable of? Hopefully Jason Schreier can get behind the scenes because it has got to be a fascinating tale.
Zenimax got bought by microsoft which is turning all their game studios into devs for their gamepass library. It's turning into netflix, to justify the cost we are going to see so many filler games from top studios ending on gamepass.
@@RikyyThePootisSlayer i read somewhere that microsoft is not involve this game development, I mean it kind of make sense since this game is develop way before microsoft bought bethesda. The only thing microsoft is responsible for is making this game exclusive on pc and game pass

You mention that the enemies "can be really lame", and it reminds me of why Bungie decided to go with aliens for Halo - you get to play with more varied things than humans with hitscan weapons, and that got me thinking, there's really a lot of wasted potential here for more horror creatures. Imagine it: Vampire thralls that go on their own sort of like mindless zombies (a result from them feeding, basically), werewolves, perhaps some cultists who got turned into warped lovecraftian monsters (or cratures like in The Suffering)? It'd spice up the world way more and, specially, give the baseline humans a place in the enemy roster. Otherwise, you're just fighting the same thing you fight in every other game.
Unfortunately, I don't think there is a valid Defense for releasing a game this incomplete as much as I love the past experiences Arkane has delivered. This is just inexcusable for company leadership to allow this game to be released in the state that it currently is. I feel for the game devs and everyone that put their hard work into this game and would love to hear from those ppl talk about their experience during development. So many questions that im afraid will never be answered. I hope this can be a turning point for some major players that things have to change.
I feel like it will be a long time before change actually happens though. Cyberpunk dropped over 2 years ago and was in such terrible shape that Sony took it off their store. CDPR lost tens of millions from stock plummets. Still though, since then nothing has really changed.
I don't think this criticism can be leveled at Arkane though. I would put money down that it was Microsoft/Bethesda's influence and decisions that f'd up this game. They probably wouldn't budge on release, didn't want to spend anymore $ on a new IP, and had a bunch of required features to hit that "mass appeal" checkbox. When you look at Arkane's history, you see almost only GOTY contenders. But Bethesda's releases? Ton's of rushed shovelware garbage.
@@d_ruggs Im not meaning the hammer should be dropped down on Arkane or anything drastic and I’m not saying Microsoft/Bethesda are sparkling clean. I think everyone involved is equally accountable and the ppl in company leadership need to figure out a better way of doing things not sure what that way is but something gotta change or we just gotta accept games being released in these type of states
Bro, it sucks. Games are alot more intensive without looking much better than "last gen" games. There is no reason for Red fall or The last of us to require tons of Vram and powerful specs to run at low settings aside from the laziness of the publishers and rushing the Devs to release the bare minimum product that they can call a "game" then fix it with patches months later.
Honestly, I feel like the big game ideas for this one just weren't very hot this time around for Arkane. The whole style of gameplay loop advertised leading up to this one never enticed me and Arkane is one of my favorite developers. Feels like they were trying to break out of their more niche audience, but didn't have the passion in it due to not focusing on what they do best.
One of the things I HAAATE from video games is when the Ai just walks up and stands there just to shoot at you. No cover, no communication with each other, no trying to get the best angle in you. It’s soooo boring when they don’t do what a smart enemy would do. Best example is MGS5 Ai. Loved it.
Yup MGS 5 got a lot of hate for being incomplete (Which totally understandable) but damn it's probably one of the most addicting gameplay in video games out there.. The AI isn't the most advanced, but they help a lot to create interactive world to support the game mechanics, it's basically Hitman but open world..
I came to UA-cam today for a review of this game and your channel didn't disappoint and saved me $80 in the process.I was wanting to like this game but just watching others playing it just seemed like somethings were off and it didn't give me the wow factor.
That’s why I watch their videos. I get tired of the constant negativity bandwagon and it feels like they actually form their own opinions. Jake is awesome. Seems like a real down to earth guy.
I just want to say how proud I am of the people who made dead island 2 because even after all of the clean up they had to do they produced a super fun game. This game feels flat
Especially with how that game had to hop different developers so many times. The game studio that ended up finishing the job took on a really difficult task and managed to release a pretty enjoyable game. I won't say it's a masterpiece or anything like that, has a lot of problems, but I have a lot of respect for how they handled a game riddled with development hell. And they launched it without any major performance issues from what I could tell Many dev hell games end up super poorly optimized despite having all the years available to optimize it
Jake, people make purchases based on your valuable opinion… so…sometimes…it’s okay to say it sucks 1:23 without giving the publisher an out or 1:01 padding it with “this is my personal brain thoughts about my own opinion that demonstrates my emotions about my experiences”. It makes your stance hard to nail down and dilutes it when I have to interpret the Jake factor and cut through the diplomacy. I appreciate the optimism (it’s why I sub) but there is definitely a zone between Ralph’s absolute annihilation of the game and toxic positivity…which you can sometimes boarder on… Food for thought. Thanks for your hard work.
I appreciate your reviews because you don't automatically jump on the hate train (if there was one before you reviewed) and just give your own, somewhat, unbiased opinion. I don't mind you having a personal biases; you love horror games so you might lean more to liking a horror game. Doesn't matter because you still let us know if the game decent, even if it's being hated on or if the game sucks because it actually sucks. Thanks for that.
@Scrangle Mcjangle bro, this is exactly what I was gonna say. Anytime people think something is bad, people will say there is a bandwagon or a hate train, like nah bruh, it's just really bad.
It's unbelievable how so many developers known for Single Player games randomly shift to making a multiplayer game (or in this case, a game that is best played in multiplayer) out of nowhere
Yeah I'm pretty sure this is a result of Microsoft holding a gun to Arkanes head and saying 'These multiplayer games seem to make a lot of money go make one of them'
multiplayer games are always worse in every single way then single player games, it is not worth it at all to not only do multiplayer games, but play them. They die after a couple months and are just not made with love and are worse because they need to put ressources into the multiplayer aspects.
True, Dishonored is one of my favourite gaming series ever and it doesn't seem like they're going to top it any time soon 🤷♂️ deathloop was a great game though
I honestly LOVE the way you do these reviews. There's always negatives and positives to games. Some people will definitely enjoy this game, some will definitely hate it. The 30FPS I'd be "Meh" with. But that's because I'm use to the 360 era Halo games which were stuck at 30FPS. As long as the framerate is stable at 30FPS or more, I'm good. If it's jumping around, definitely a good complaint to have. Hopefully they can fix it (remember when alot of games came out without constant updates?). Glitches....well....they did work with Bethesda. But definitely seeing the complaints there. But I really do enjoy watching these vids. It's a mostly unbiased opinion on the games you review.
My friends and I will be checking this out on Game Pass. These are the types of games that we love. Not because they're amazing, but because they'll be simple fun for us to just spend time together doing.
@@simarpreet7144 exactly, we're not expecting it to be good or game-changing, but something to do to spend time together with. Especially because it's on Game Pass.
@@TheHeadinchargeDon’t you know there can only be 1 good thing? There is only 1 good gaming/review channel and that Is PeanutbutterGamer. My case is rested
Before You Buys and especially when it’s Jake Baldino, I know I’m in for a quality review. I’m not gonna lie, I was extremely supporting this game up until launch and as much as it has stung that it just isn’t a good game, I appreciate this review still for still being neutral as much as possible. It did it’s best to find the positives even if the negatives outweigh the positives. I hope this game can be revived and not be abandoned. I really hope Arkane just pumps out patches and updates. No Man’s Sky this game
No Man’s Sky actually had a decent foundation, it just failed in execution. Redfall is some weird Cronenberg abomination of live service looter shooter immersive sim vampire survival game. Almost like they stuffed a bunch of trends into one game and this is what happened. Personally, I believe Arkane should just move on and consider this game a drop of embarrassment in the ocean of shame.
Do you not pay attention? There's no attempt to be 'neutral', it's just being real and genuine. Those reviewers who are nothing but extremely negative, are themselves negative people and it reflects in their reviews, and why I don't watch them because negative people are losers. The last thing any community needs is negativity for negativity's sake, particularly gaming.
I think it's why zombie games usually do well in these coop shooters. Most zombies have no ranged attacks and are often similar enough to not force you out of a flow. Back 4 Blood however (It's much better than release thank god), it has a number of ranged units, even more now they added cultists, those also make the game feel odd. The ranged attacked force you to run into stupid situations when normally you'd never do that. It does feel weird, but as with anything, enough time and practice you'll meta your reaction.
A shame that Redfall did not do well. I do hope that the concept of this game will live on. Because I always wanted a open world, co-op, horror(ish) game. And hopefully the next one will not only be great but also show up on ps5 because it seems like the kind of game that would do better with a wider audience.
This is exactly why I watch you guys because it's no nonsense you Guys are Very hopeful and you give your best opinions on these games even though they just came out. I know not every game is going to be perfect.
Can someone explain to me what that means? I seen it on many game videos never really undersatnding what "one of the games of all time" means. Is it an inside joke thingy or something?
@@NoName-zj9jl they are leaving out the racial slurs because of youtube... its basicly a "hate speach" thing that they are using for a game instead of a race... like comparing them ect... 😂
My take? This is an interesting and fun idea delivered half baked. I don't feel like I'm lead any particular direction in story and it feels like the npcs are just filler in the safe house that make it more awkward than having it just be empty. The cutscenes and cinematic parts feel added last minute. Enemy AI feels so broken, spinning around, clipping through walls and the ground ( having cyberpunk flashbacks lol), kinda feels like there's no ai. Has an enemy try and shoot me facing the wrong way. What you said about the camera controls on console I feel the same way. They don't feel right now matter how much you tweak the settings. Everything feels delayed and clunky.
I agree…. Has potential to be a good game with several updates, if they take the time to fix the issues to include a lobby for random match-ups, not just friends list. That said hopefully they throw a bunch of patches then a Netflix series to get interest going. 😆
Just spent two hours playing it through Game Pass and I completely agree with you. I think playing solo it gets kinda dull and repetitive, which is a shame because it does look really nice. But that's what I got after two hours and I turned to play something else, which isn't really a good sign. I also expected the map to be much bigger, so even if I would play with friends, I think you'd run through it pretty fast.
I don't know what it is about me but I've somehow gotten the urge to go through and end up completely finishing games that are generally disliked by most people. With this game being on the game pass, I'm honestly getting that same feeling here, we will see if it persists the more I play.
I played 2 hours of Redfall and got bored and uninstalled. I had never played Prey and so I downloaded that and started playing last night and put like 6 hours into it. I couldn’t stop playing it. Hopefully Arkane can return to form

@@TheHeadincharge what's hilarious are the people who are too fragile to hear an objective negative review so they come to Jake who will tell them only good things that they can handle bc bad games dont exist on their world. Let me know if I hurt your feelings.
Appreciate not making the criticism hyperbolic. A LOT of these review channels feel the need to paint a picture of a disaster. Game after game. Review after review. Gets old. You do a good job staying balanced
I got it on gamepass and I’m having a good time. Definitely a lot of problems that do not make this game worth $70 but there is some fun to be had in a jank sandbox type of way.
I play on PC, I'm fortunate not to have technical issue so I won't talk about that, but that sucks that there are some of course. I initially found the control a bit odd, but I got use to it after a few minutes, the beginning was a bit disappointing, but the more I play, the more it opens in term of variety, things to do and to discover and the more I like it. I agree with the negatives, the game feels a bit unfinished, and for sure the AI is bad but this one doesn't really bother me (I'm not a FPS gamer so, it's suits me :D). I feel really immerse in this world, really enjoying the ambiance and the "Arkanish" graphic style, the lore and details. Also, if it felt a bit empty at start, the more I progress in the game (I have about 15 hours of gameplay), the more the world fills up. The only complaint I have is the nests which are a good idea, but begin to be repetitive and annoying quite quickly, and on top of that come back too frequently and worse, always appear when you start the game, whether or not you get rid of them at the end of the last game session... Really painful. I also agree that the character you choose might play a big role in the experience, I'm playing the stealth guy which is perfect for solo, I feel like the "telekinesis" girl will be fun too, but I'm really not sure for the two others in a solo context.
To be honest I've been having a decent time with the game. As a game which comes with my xbox subscription I'm satisfied in a shooter rpg quest game sense but I would much more disappointed if I paid full retail price for it.
I think the biggest problem that underlies all of this is that we are still getting games in this sort of shape despite that fact we now have to fork over $70 for them. Higher price, lower quality. With what is there at launch, it feels like a $20 game from some indie studio.
Played this game for two hours yesterday. I couldn't continue. For obvious reasons. lol! It looked so promising and has potential. But there's A LOT of changes that need to be made before I would consider playing the full game.
Same here. I hoped it would eventually get better as some games start slow and really pick up steam the further you progress. Not this game. After 2 hours I called it quits and dont plan on playing it again. Take a break for a week and gear up for Zelda.
The world is too empty. Controls feel klunky. Like using a bad Chinese made 3rd party nintendo switch controller kind of klunky. And it really doesn't look very good. The art style is nice but the world lacks detail
@@taytmw18 amen. If the graphics were atleast next gen 2023 quality it would have possibly held my interest a bit longer. But even the graphics weren't great. Looks like what I would have expected to see from graphics 5 to 10 years ago.
Oh yeah also don't forget the fact that aside from the you've unlocked a new skill for whatever character you are it doesn't really tell you not even via a cutscene how the character you are specifically got their powers
I kept refreshing the Gameranx page to see what Jake had to say about this one. Not because poor Redfall is an easy target right now, but because Jake, Falcon, and the whole crew at Before You Buy have some of the most fair and balanced opinions on games. This review is my exact feeling on Redfall at the moment. Bugs and graphics arent even my issue. The guns want to feel good but the enemies and encounters are just...ok. They exist and work, but bring nothing thrilling to the game or world. And the story and setting of Redfall, at its core, has super potential. Spooky vamps in an eternally dark new england Steven King-ian island...yes please. Unfortunately it just doesn't come together. I hope Arkane can pull a FF14 ARR, or even a No Mans Sky. I guess time will tell. I went too long, thanks for the review and as always keep up the good work guys. Thanks.
Yeah that did kind of come off as stalkery, sorry. It was more a figure of speech lol. In reality, I would just check in whenever I was on UA-cam. Wasn't sure he would post one on Redfall or not. And no I didn't need to validate my purchase as I just downloaded it on Gamepass. I just was excited for this title and it's potential. But it missed the mark so I wanted to see what someone who has like-minded opinions to mine had to say about it.
Thank you for actually playing it and not being afriad of being honest. I see a lot of copy pasta reviews on youtube now. Im not saying i cared if this game got a good review. More that you actually reviewed the game and didnt just say... " Redfall sucks, this is a huge L for Xbox, Starfield has to be good." Like how is that a review? Yet there's a lot of that online right now being sold as a game review when its clearly just clickbait.
You can tell you are trying to be as positive as possible with your feedback which is nice to see. I love vampires in games so it's a bummer this one didn't turn out that good.
Great unbiased review and I'm glad there are so many reviewer types on youtube because I also love the "angry" reviewers because they are hilarious and they make me laugh when I'm sad that this game that I wanted so badly turned out so bad. Given your unbalanced and fair style I suspect that this review was the most painful for Arkane to hear.
Still don't have a next Gen console (or internet for that matter) so i feel so far removed from gaming these days. With these fair and concise Before You Buys, I get to keep up. Gameranx always does it right. Thanks y'all!
I really feel like up until now. The next gen console aren't so necessary. Only a couple of games are exclusives to them and these games don't look so "Next Gen". They look great, don't get me wrong but just not revolutionary or anything.
Hey man, if you spend money on anything just move to PC, I made the move because I almost bought a ps5 and seen I was paying pretty much the same to get less, so I got a relatively good prebuilt PC and I can't recommend something for gaming more, console just ain't the move anymore, most exclusives come to PC anyways. I know right now you might not be looking to get anything, but when you are, trust me it's the way to go, prolly never getting another console, plus gaming is in a bad space so dont feel left out, games just keep releasing half baked.

If you want more FPS, turns the settings down a bit. If you're okay with less, turn them up a bit. It's super easy, barely an inconvenience!
I’ve only played it with a friend who was really excited about it and was quite biased and even he was underwhelmed. There’s no actual cutscenes, a lot of walking around with very sparsely spread out enemies, it’s too slow for me. This is coming from someone who loves og halo.
Nothing to improve. The game’s concept is fundamentally flawedAF and cannot be fixed. Just throw it in the f**king trash, dub it an overwhelming L and move on to the next project that hopefully isnt trashAF.
I personally like the game, the gameplay is great, although it’s easy. I was able to get a good config for controller aiming for myself. I just turned the response to low and turned up the baseline sensitivity up a bit. The only thing I personally dislike is the 30 FPS cap, but I do think it’s done very well with proper frame pacing and everything.
@DictatorKirby No, I’m not trolling. I also don’t enjoy everything I play. Everyone’s tastes are different, and so is their experience with gaming. If you don’t like the game, that’s fine, just don’t shit on people actually having fun. I like the environment, and I like the story. The gameplay is fun to me *because* it isn’t challenging. If it was challenging, it would still be fun. I just like to turn my brain off and be a badass sometimes. Granted, I haven’t experienced any of the aggravating glitches that some people have, (like those showcased by Digital Foundry) so my experience with the game hasn’t been as bad as some others out there. Could it have spent more time in the oven? Absolutely. Does that affect the fun I’ve had with the game? No, it doesn’t.
Deathloop's downfall was taking so long to give you the Shift ability, and misleading gamers into thinking they had any control over the ending. Those things aside, Deathloop is incredibly fun and is one I return to often. It's too bad there's no servers for multiplayer because that lag is unplayable.
As a big fan of Deathloop, I was really looking forward to this game. However the final game doesn't live up to its expectations. I'll wait until this game is on Playstation Plus.
I think Phil specifically said that it’ll not be released on PlayStation which is great 👍🏽 who needs this garbage this makes forespoken look extremely well lol

I've logged several hours already and I have to say, it's quite a bit of fun with friends despite the glitches and bugs. I don't think it would be as engaging solo, but I think most of the reviews are missing the mark. You guys nailed it
There's a lot to be desired in this game especially because it's one of the first if not only vampire fps coop game around. But I've been playing with 3 other friends and we've been enjoying our time besides the bugs which surprisingly haven't been too much for our experience. So yeah maybe this is more fun if you have game pass with friends rather than buying it full price and playing it alone.
I was so excited for this as a gamepass release initially and when I saw that first gameplay from IGN my hype went out the window. I’m really disappointed, I thought this could be the first Arkane game I finally got into.

Really enjoyed Prey and Deathloop as well to be honest. I think it’s good they are trying new things and maybe this one is not a hit but bigger chance a title in the future will be better because of it fingers crossed 🤞
Yeah i totally get what your on about. Like, you can get the appeal of the idea in terms of having an Arkane style co-op vampire romp with zany abilites. But then when you play you are actually not quite sure what they were going for at all. I know that there are studios that work out what the game actually is after they start developing and that has actually worked out quite well in the past on many occasions. So perhaps this one needed to cook alot more, they may have even decided to push this one out thinking it would be less of a blow then cancelling, like business wise it may have made sense to them when looking at the numbers but idk seems this really hurts the brand.
Even if there were no bugs, the resolution is horrible, the textures are straight out of a 360 era game, the open world is completely empty, the dialogue is cringe, the cut scenes are all slide shows, the quests are uninspired (find a key, open a door) and the powers your characters get wre very bare bones and basic. You honestly would be better of just playing Dead Island 2. Which is funny because a lot of people were expecting little from that game, and I wasnt hyped at all, but it turned out to he incredibly polished and very fun.
I agree with more or less everything mentioned in this game, its by no means a game of the year but as someone whom has just a few hours a day after work to play together with my friends, we're having fun playing this game, what the game is lacking becomes more obvious the longer we play but the biggest issue we've run in to is the never ending search for keys. I tried the game a bit on my own and its definetly not as fun single player as its multiplayer, so if you're gonna try this do it with a friend! i give this a 3/10
oh and they really need to make harder difficulty avaiable on the get go, i play on "midnight" which is the hardest avaiable to me (can unlock a harder difficulty) but i find myself looting in the mits of a battle couse i know that i can simply turn around and 1shot whatever is left. so for me and my friends i think its just simply to easy, even bosses dosnt last for more than 5 sec

I had the same feeling about the aiming sensitivity also. My reason was that there is no way to adjust the sensitivity of when you ADS. it slows it down WAY to much and makes it feel clunkier than it already was. Another thing that really bothered me was that that I couldn't pause the game when I was playing solo. I paused it, went and ate dinner with the fam, came back and I was dead. Ended up just deleting the game and did not feel like playing ever again. Luckily I was playing on pc game pass and I still had the urge to play some first person shooter, ended up downloading Atomic Heart and really enjoyed the first hour (again thank god for pc game pass lol). I'm really not saying this to be a critic at all, I mean this with all sincerity and just as a suggestion, but If you ever get worried that your reviews use a lot of the same adjectives, it might be useful to just look at around at a few thesauruses every now and then throughout each week which you can pick up to incorporate in your videos. Good ole Jake 😂 . Makes me want to go back and see how positive he made Fallout 76 sound. I actually love the trying for some positivity because he generally still remains truthful. I can go to a hundred other channels to hear a bad game completely shit on. And I often do.
This is without a doubt the most positive Redfall review I've watched.

Completely agree
What you're describing basicly is what world of darkness franchise is. Well would be if any dev could actually finish their games with the world set.
Probably not a very interesting story... I feel people can't, or don't want to make good games anymore.

It feels like devs were held hostage forced to rush the game and this is the tragic product we witnessed

One of the things I HAAATE from video games is when the Ai just walks up and stands there just to shoot at you. No cover, no communication with each other, no trying to get the best angle in you. It’s soooo boring when they don’t do what a smart enemy would do. Best example is MGS5 Ai. Loved it.
And That's Why EA will NEVER get their campaigns right.

The game studio that ended up finishing the job took on a really difficult task and managed to release a pretty enjoyable game. I won't say it's a masterpiece or anything like that, has a lot of problems, but I have a lot of respect for how they handled a game riddled with development hell. And they launched it without any major performance issues from what I could tell
Many dev hell games end up super poorly optimized despite having all the years available to optimize it

It did it’s best to find the positives even if the negatives outweigh the positives. I hope this game can be revived and not be abandoned. I really hope Arkane just pumps out patches and updates. No Man’s Sky this game
No.

Never realized Gameranx was my go-to channel for reviews until I found myself waiting for this video to drop

Clearly it needed capping to 30fps because the processing power required to animate such incredible AI in enemies was too much.
Crazy thing is I would still buy this if it was on ps4 because the vampire thing is right up my ally no matter how much negative I’ve seen about it
To be honest I've been having a decent time with the game.
This is ridiculous this is what the lawyers should fight for complete games instead of $70 trash games

@@Keshin4539 I haven't updated my PC in 6 tears and it still runs redfall fine on high settings, as well as pretty much every game out there. Not sure what people told you, but there's absolutely no need to update parts every year. Not sure what you mean with maintenance and upkeep really, you buy a game, download it and launch it. If you want more FPS, turns the settings down a bit. If you're okay with less, turn them up a bit. It's super easy, barely an inconvenience!
Dead Island with Vampires. This could have been good if they make a twist in the story or even in gameplay
That's a good way to put it. But, is it Dead Island 2?
I’ve only played it with a friend who was really excited about it and was quite biased and even he was underwhelmed. There’s no actual cutscenes, a lot of walking around with very sparsely spread out enemies, it’s too slow for me. This is coming from someone who loves og halo.
I hope they improve the game, it looked so promising; guess that's just how it goes now.
Thank you for the honest opinion Jake, it’s honestly sad how far Arkane has Red(Fallen)… Keep up with the amazing daily videos!
The games fun with friends and maybe if you like far cry but it’s alright 😑
Red has to be in parentheses and fallen not 😉
Deathloop's downfall was taking so long to give you the Shift ability, and misleading gamers into thinking they had any control over the ending. Those things aside, Deathloop is incredibly fun and is one I return to often. It's too bad there's no servers for multiplayer because that lag is unplayable.
Did you upgrade Jacob’s “stealth” skill to the point where the raven will no longer act stealthily, instead Aggro-ing the enemies by attacking them?
"Redfall before you buy"
*Don't*
As a big fan of Deathloop, I was really looking forward to this game. However the final game doesn't live up to its expectations. I'll wait until this game is on Playstation Plus.
I don’t think this game will be on PlayStation at all
I think Phil specifically said that it’ll not be released on PlayStation which is great 👍🏽 who needs this garbage this makes forespoken look extremely well lol
"As a big fan of deathloop" I'm convinced you don't exist
@@ivanbarroso865 forsaken is still a trash fire. This being bad doesn't change that
@@666slateran666 with this it does and the dlc looks way better than the main game so I think the developers were listening but Microsoft are running out of gas there last hope is starfield if that fails idk if Xbox will ever recover
Welcome to another "Don't buy this game"
After watching a few reviews and gameplay, I must say that this game has potential. All it needs is a lot more work and a little love.
Just want to say love your channel and the content you release is fantastic keep up the great work
Xbox in damage control with that friend share announcement
As they should be Xbox needs some positive news
The enemy AI is super dumb you can stand behind a car or box and the vampires will keep trying to walk towards you through the object. Also theres a really strong auto aim even for mouse and keyboard?? Its weird
I've logged several hours already and I have to say, it's quite a bit of fun with friends despite the glitches and bugs. I don't think it would be as engaging solo, but I think most of the reviews are missing the mark. You guys nailed it
I just wat Arkane to make Dishonored. 1 and 2 are my favorite games of all time. They could make a prequel or even a sequel
I think we all owe the ign dude an apology from the redfall video. The game is garbage but NOT the person.
You're telling me you were hoping to get into this garbage instead of something like Dishonored or Prey?
Just play prey wtf
@@666slateran666 Honestly Prey wasn't that great either. Alot better than Redfall but after all the great things I heard from my buddies about Prey it wasn't quite what I hoped. If you want to play a game with action, good graphics, some survival horror elements, and upgradeable weapons & some crafting I'd recommend RE4 and/or Deadspace Remake.
@@Crockadillion42o I'm an og in terms of re4. Replayed the original many times and even recently did the 4k fan mod. And have beat the remake 3 times already. Shit was harder then a souls game on raw hardcore without newgame plus.
Great video as always ❤
Would it be possible to get a list of the best games you've played in the last, say, 5 years or so?
Some of us (especially on Xbox lmao) are in a game slump and looking for recommendations from Jake and Falcon.
I second this!!
Its jake. He liked all of them
I'd rather spend my hard earned money on 70 cheeseburgers from McDonald's Dollar Menu.
Today that would cost bare minimum 115 dollars you ain't been to McDonald's in a while yeah 😂
@@ronaldfowler4499 You don't understand the concept of the Dollar Menu, do you?

Nice review. I was on the fence about getting this as filler content for my channel - kind of looked neat at first, but after watching this it just made it clear to NOT get this and to NOT be one of those Let'sPlayers that just gets a game just for filler content in general. I like to enjoy games I play. So, this game doesn't do it for me. Had hopes though. THANKS!
I actually trust gameranx on a lot of stuff now, honest and caring but not opinionated, love it, thanks boiz!!!

@@tomsnow7815 "Not opinionated"
okay... cool, don't see what you're getting at here... care to explain?
Jake is way too kind. Should've heard the colorful language my Xbox-owning friend described Redfall as 🤣
😅🤪 that bad huh?
As expected dishonored was the end😢
Really enjoyed Prey and Deathloop as well to be honest. I think it’s good they are trying new things and maybe this one is not a hit but bigger chance a title in the future will be better because of it fingers crossed 🤞
@@nuclearthrone2497 i totally agree but put your hand on your heart and tell me is this game creates a big impact as dishonored
@@YourAverageGuyLight probably won’t indeed ;)
For once I'm actually gonna say don't even bother with this game at least until it's fixed, the state in which it was released is deplorable for a $70 game, which seems to be a constant these days
Man at this point there’s no fixing this trash😭 they should just cut their losses and promise they’ll do better next time for the next dishonoured or prey
You can fix fps and bugs but how do you fix dull?
Like AC Valhalla , looked and ran great but dull as f...
@@Unknown_Genius I found it in a bargain bin for $20 and it was on the free ps5 upgrade list so Valhalla was not a total waste.
PS Store is still trying to sell that game for $70. Crazy.
For twice, I'm actually gonna say that you're a 😼. You calling it deplorable smh you been watching to many game review channels. you haven't used that word a day in your life outside of yt 🌽🏀
Funny how a bad game and push you in the direction of playing something else you didn't intend to play.
Did you actually go into settings or anything, or just into your inventory?
@@Sorrowdusk I play on a half keyboard so I always have to go into the full settings and keybinds for every game i play in order to tweak stuff to my exact likings. There no where to change ADS sensitivity, only normal sense and x and y sense
Should've titled the vid "Redfall - Do Not Buy"
Amazing video Jake from gameranx, fantastic job.
I'll just play RE4make and pretend that I'm fighting vampires. They do hate flashbangs after all. Or I'll jump back into The Evil Within 1 and 2. These games actually have the edge and grit and overall oppressive atmosphere I would look for in a vampire-hunting game.
Shouldve named this one video "never buy" instead of "before you buy" 🤣
Thank you for beta testing for me. I will buy this game after a year or two 😂
just spend 10 dollars on game pass. It only has about 15 hours of content so you could easily beat the game with a one month game pass sub.
You know what sucks is this game is the only reason I bought an Xbox and now I’m like this some bull$#!t I may sell mine now
So you don't wanna play Starfield, Fable, Perfect Dark, Avowed and Outer Worlds 2?
Don't want to play stalker 2?
@@dr2d2 And Hellblade, State Of Decay 3, Contraband, Everwild, Gears 6, The Elder Scrolls VI, Indiana Jones, etc.
My father used to do the same thing where he would read a word in the dictionary, and then just use that word in a sentence till the next week to repeat the process, it works.
Good ole Jake 😂 . Makes me want to go back and see how positive he made Fallout 76 sound. I actually love the trying for some positivity because he generally still remains truthful. I can go to a hundred other channels to hear a bad game completely shit on. And I often do.
