I might be wrong about this but, if i input 6 sensors into a numberblock (+n placeholder) i seem to only get a reliable value for 0-15 (aka a nibble).
I am trying to implement linear absolute position encoders (what a mouthfull) in semi survival.
I really do not want to implement a BCD to decimal converter in glue logic since the tick system will break it anyhow.
so is there something i missed? Am i too stupid or do i ask to much? 😀

Is there a way to input to the counter ? Like I use a memory that contain a number and I want to use that number on the counter so the counter has that number. Is it possible ?

WHY DOES MY MATH BLOCK COUNT '210' AS '3'?!
If you're feeding in single digits, it will add them together before performing the function (as explained in the math block video)
Generally, you need to use 1 input. Either a counter block, memory panel, or a white painted number block. See 3:10
Splitting the number into digits is mostly for display purposes. You can just connect from the number source, or connect your digits to a single number block painted white/black

The thing I needed this for didn't work anyways so yeah at least I have a working altitude calculator
im making a plane with a smart engine and if i hook up a math block add to a steering wheel then press w its 1 then s -1 i want the wing to go to 15 and -15 so i hook 15 to a multiplication block and the add and if i press w or s its 15 it cant calculate negative numbers??

Hey there durf, is there a way to register a number of tiks and when needed to press a button and send it to something else? I wanna make a car that drives forward on its own and if theres an obstacle to steer on its own then for the exact same time steer back so that its maintaining the direction
You can input a number into the tick button
Also following on from Durf. Memory panels are great for holding numbers which along with timers work brilliant to send a certain "number package"

you can type /console in the game chat (like as if you are saying "/console" to a friend connected to your game, press enter and type)

Yes. If not explained in this video, it is explained in the next one.
Decimal places are available as the light row of paint colors. Light orange is the first decimal digit. Light red is the second, etc.

No, you are looking for the memory panel,
or to copy number value, a math block or number block
Is it possible to have numbers between -1 and 1? Because with the gravity modulator, it might be super practical to have low gravity
PS: negative gravity with the grav modulator completely fucks you
Gravity modulator is a dangerous piece of equipment! Be careful!

If you have two wireless routers set 1 to sending and one to receiving you can connect any data device and send data
Was there anything changed with it? I tried this exactly how the video was and only the counter was functional. The number blocks did not change and I color coded it exactly the way it needed to be.

How to connect multiple number blocks to a mod piston and make it extend the length of what that number is showing
Smart Engine Controller
A number value doesn't do anything with a piston
a piston needs something like a controller to tell it to do something specific
So do smart engine -> piston
then for the smart engine you have these inputs:
"any color"/orange = the piston length
black = strength (same as always, default should be fine so you don't need a black input for most things)
white = speed to go to the piston length you set (so if you change to another number, it will go to that length by WHITE blocks/second...if you set that to 5, then it travels as a speed of 5 blocks/s)
grey = spring factor (if you use a piston as a suspension, and you give it a spring factor, this is how much strength is added to the piston, depending on how far away it is from the target length it's supposed to be at = so default power is 10,000, and you set length 15, if you set spring factor really REALLY high, then put something heavy on the piston to weigh it down, as the piston goes down 14 , 13, 12, length being pushed down by weight, the power number will increase, 10000, 15000, 20000, etc, until eventually the amount of power pushing back, holds back the heavy weight on top, stabilizing at whatever piston length it can push back at...maybe down to 7 idk... )
spring factor is really not needed for most things and you can ignore grey input for the most part.
So usually you'll just need a smart engine with white input for speed, and orange/colored input for length...maybe a switch if you want to turn the smart engine on/off
Keep in mind, that number blocks are just used for DISPLAYING number values, by digit - and they do digit operations when you connect them to things
Instead what you want is the COUNTER BLOCK (or math block, or any other number part really), as that will transfer the entire number value over a single connection line...not just a digit of the number.
I highly recommend you continue watching the rest of these number logic intro vids... what you're asking for is actually quite simple and you'll get it in no time ;)

It is possible! Unfortunately the video explanation wasn't made yet, but it is the "smart engine controller" in the modpack!
place that down, and give it 2 counter blocks: one painted white (for speed in blocks/sec), and another leave orange or any color (not the grey column) and this will be the height (in blocks) you want the piston to be at. Decimals accepted.
The smart engine controls bearings and pistons, like a controller does, or like an engine does.
The part description in game tries to explain as much as it can within that small space...but if you have any further questions you can hop into our discord and ask anyone there - hopefully I'll get back to some SMM videos soon!

Keep trying! This video explains a lot all at once, so it might seem confusing, but choose just one thing and focus on that. It's super easy (forget the binary stuff, you already know how numbers work, now just learn the paint colors)
Then check out the math block video next! These 2 videos really take you to the next level! And then you can use all the new number logic parts super easy! (seriously they are not hard to use, but first ya gotta know how these color and number stuff works)
