Please note: rgb lights are very heavy on the game save file. Be sure to save your creations before exiting the world.
In case you get "error 10: extended 3" error because of rgb lights (actually its a scrap bug but okay) you can fix it by doing the following:
"Recover method": open the save file using sqllite bd browser and perform ANY sql query. Some googling may be required.
"Quick 'fk it' destructive method": go to your save folder and remove the .db-journal file(s), this will cause progress of your last visit in the world to be lost however!

On my old pc the ram couldnt keep up with the saving of a world while exiting, even in an enmpty workld i once used modpack. After that the world was corrupted and the game crashed. I bet i've decorrupted over 100 worlds :D.

The RGB-light-function is very useful for my trains, because it solves the problem, when you want two colors (white and red) as switchable front and tail like the Siemens Taurus... I have to build a new train with this function, thanks for this video, Durf!

It's definite an idea I want to test out for polygons...but there there's other ideas I want to test as well...
we'll see what happens with the polygons...might have to be a new rgb pack, or maybe the main pack can just do the rgb..depends on other tests.
(already have an RGB duck, but don't tell anyone 🤐)

the rgb stuff is broken it says at the top (you can not use the glow featrue currently not suported until the devs fix this.) can you fix this?

Hi Scrap Mechanic Mod Team I had an idea for a creation on scrap mechanic but i don't have the parts on the game so i was wondering if in the next update of the mod pack and/or beta you could add a few of these ideas: A block that makes the creation invisible from the outside but can still be seen from the inside, An EMP for battles so that a creation can stop all functions on other creations within a certain range of the EMP (which can be change using the tick block), a missile and block that when both placed on a creation is able to lock on to a creation that your looking at but when the missiles fired it follows the locked on creation no matter if the player that launched the missile is looking at it, but there is a block which sends a signal to say if you've locked onto a creation or someone has locked onto you. Sorry if I don't make much sense I would just love to see these blocks and parts in scrap mechanic. Oh and if you do add these blocks and parts to scrap mechanic i will be sure to send you a link to the creations once it's finished.
Hey, I can't seem to use the RGB lights. When connecting the RGB block to a light, they just turn off. I tried connecting a button both to the light and the block - nothing works. Can you help?

i have a question - will u make mod that bring to creative all parts from survival - like scrap wheels , lv 5 seat etc, but also many blocks that are not able for players - like tape that exist in warehouse. It will be really cool and usefull . plsss make it
the orientation block isn't functioning properly when it is receiving a white input while on tracker, it just repeats its last movement till i remove the white input. this is very confusing to me

Hey durf is there a spreadsheet or pdf you can upload with the number values for both rgb and ascii.
RGB mixer is like the RGB mixer you see in a photo editing program (each red, green, blue, between 0 and 255)
ascii...well it's numbers for numbers, then letters right after (so hexadecimal displays work), then sorta just random symbols...no real order.

It is posible to make RGB glass block? Imagine cocpits for planes or robots with working transparent screen on it! Or turnable window!

it just might not look the best because of how SM renders glass
But potentially a great idea for a future glass mod!

I stopped playing Scrap mechanic 4 month ago, when i am back, so many
incomprehensible blocks were added
From the start of the RGB block i was like "oh man i know all of it" until 8:22 after that i was like "RRREEEEEEEEEE"
isnt there a way to add mods through workshop? im so confused i remember adding mods willy nilly because it was like steam workshop style and now i cant remember after a while of not playing
Yes there's a Steam workshop where you can download mods and blueprints and stuff.
I also provide a download for anyone who wants to install the mod manually (usually people who pirated the game)
Also...Sadly, not all mod types are supported on the Steam workshop (like character mods, or night mod :/ )

Hey durf, i wanna know how to make a system controlled by a switch that would act like placing a sensor and having a block spin on top of it and every time it goes over the sensor it sends out a output, but without engines so its silent, and the switch would turn it on and off
AND -> TIMER -> NAND -> back to first and
Get that loop yea?, connect your switch to the AND gate.
There's your logic loop, on/off switch, and will blink at the timer rate you set. 100% vanilla.

The next tutorial will be how to use the Mod Tool (very simple, no details, dependent on the previous JSON tutorial);
need to know this to upload mods + everything involved like language support, inventory icons, thumbnail, etc...quality control...like a basic rundown of mod tool and workshop side of things
Then I'll do quick vids for each of the basic textures (one for DIF, one for ASG, and maybe a new one for NOR too; the portal block nor video is kind of old and could be better)
And from there we'll work up with basic blocks, all details in one vid
basic parts, wedges, wheels, something more complex like a houseplant, (non interactive parts, all details)
then simple interactive parts (switches buttons sensors logic gates etc, the simple predefined stuff)
then advnaced interactive parts (seats, lights, pistons, suspensions, things with custom effects)
then scripted parts (this section will assume you already know the programming language LUA, and begin with the tutorial on how to use it in your mods)
...etc
with some occasional extras tossed in between some stuff

is there is a block that u can connect an activator(ex switch) to the the block which have an ui by which you can choose a button from ur key board that if pressed it well activate the activator(switch or button) then connect it to the thing that needs to be activated (bearing) then to the seat the will control it by pressing the button on the keyboard if not i hope u add it

Will you guys do a lite version for ,, The Modpack,, for low end pcs? A friend of mine wants to play Scrap Mechanic with ,,The Modpack,, but he has a low end pc so a lite version will solve this problem not only for him but i think there are a lot of other people who want to enjoy the best of this modpack on a slighty low end pc.

I think the limiting factor is SM, not the mods 😕
We already make our mods as optimized as they can be (given what SM is lol)

Unfortunately Scrap Mechanic Survival update broke a lot of mod functionality and until Axolot repairs it, those features will not be available

Could you make A Music mod So we can play custum music in Scrap Mechanic cos I Make fair ride's on it and its not the best without music so adding are own music in game will be sick ???
This is a build suggestion. You can use number logic and the smart totebot head and the memory panel to create a sequence of notes to play through. It's not exactly easy (but perhaps in the future it will be made easier).
Custom songs / parts like the tone generator, are not possible at the moment. We're waiting on a game update to support better custom sounds.
