That is one hell of an entrance.....it's amazing that he can even sing, you can tell he is having a serious issue with the drain and vocal cord numbing.......
He moved to Berlin and did the trilogy to get off coke. He said he would never move back to LA, because of all the drugs. He wasn't "blown" for the entire 70s and 80s". Wow.
People watch the interviews...then you'll see those of you voting for 'coked out' were quite correct! LOL He's awesome either way and my absolute favorite performer.
I've always thought he was nursing a cold here, personally. You can hear that his voice is a bit thrashed as well. I'm not saying the coke may not have played a part here, just that I think he was sick, too.
Great performance. The end is very sad and in somewhat poor taste... he's said he was completely coked out over those years it isn't a secret. The fact that he got over it without years in "Rehab" like the Lindsay Lohen's of today is incredible and shows remarkable strength. Coke and smoking... both hard to quit and he managed it and has a wonderful life... it's amazing he got through that time.
Bottom line , no one watching this now knows exactly what he did or how he" got over it". People concoct fantasy relationships with public figures ...... kooky .

greatly put together, i guess that the way he strung the other artists in with the performance helped him know where he was in it in those days
thank you for this, i think the end bit is pretty cool and i doubt bowie would give a fuck

fantastic! Though the backing vocalists (Luther vandross included) look like thery're waiting for the number 56 bus for work in the morning.....

I think its a little croaky, myself.
That happens. Still he about knocked himself out for the audience. 🙄👻
