    I revisited this workout. I couldn't keep torso upright this time, but it was still an amazing workout.

      It's not easy to stay upright. The pretzel position is one of the hardest to master. It takes very consistent practice!

    Hi Linda This one was short and sweet! But it got the job done. I like that your workouts vary in duration. It's not possible or advisable for every workout to be long. This is just what I needed today. Actually I paired this with Lower Belly Blast and it was the perfect combo. I feel worked out but not stressed.

      Yes, I think a lot of people enjoy mixing and matching shorter workouts. I also know that some viewers like to go for a run to get their cardio in and then do one of the shorter workouts for the toning. :)

    I did it - the strange thing is that i only felt it in my back or to be more precise the back waist above my butt :) I have done a lot of outer thighs but non of them obviously engaged the waist area :)

    • @barlatesbodyblitz
      @barlatesbodyblitz  5 років тому +2

      The pretzel position works a lot of muscles and the hips and obliques are definitely engaged because you are holding your body in the upright position. If you want to feel more of your butt and less of your waist then come down on one elbow 😁

      @elinab376 5 років тому +2

      @@barlatesbodyblitz I love that my obliques are also engaged , this exercise is very good :)

    I’m doing this workout to reduce my saddlebags (along with overall fat loss of course)
    Will this help with saddlebags and what is the benefit of doing pretzels over regular outer thigh leg raises

    • @barlatesbodyblitz
      @barlatesbodyblitz  4 місяці тому

      yes, it definitely will. Pretzel hits a lot more muscle groups than regular outer thigh raises. It also works the hips and waistline and the glute medius, which is the top portion of the 'outer thigh.'

    • @barlatesbodyblitz

    I tried this after the 30-minute cardio video...shorter of course than the 40-minute video but still challenging. I did notice that during the second set of combination moves, you didn't lower the leg to the floor but simply extended and bent it again before extending the hip.
    Otherwise, for an additional challenge I would recommend a foster kitten to come and purr and climb all over you while you're on the floor. That is of course why you're there, after all...

    • @barlatesbodyblitz
      @barlatesbodyblitz  6 років тому +3

      Ha ha! Good spot. Yes, sometimes I forget what I did on the other side because I usually make my workouts up as I go along. Oh well, it still hit the same muscle group. Start with the other leg next time to even out. I have a big cat called Mini who appears in some of my videos. She is a bit older so doesn't jump all over me anymore, but she is often nearby and on my mat when I work out. More so in my older videos before I started filming in the studio 😄
