Salmiakki is (nearly) win-win. We who love it get to eat it, and those who don't, make the world laugh.
Yeah it's so hilarious, but i can understand why people hate it :D I used to hate salmiakki as a kid, but after forcing myself to eat them for awhile i got used to them and now i love them! :)

I really wonder why people don't like it. I'm not a huge fan of it, but I can eat it without any issues. The first time I get that it can be quite shocking. It'd be really fun if they ate turkish pepper though. Since that has the salmiak powder inside, it's quite sweet at first, but once you bite through that layer, you get an explosion of salt.

It's usually written as saranghaeyo and 사랑해요 in Korean. Use your newfound knowledge wisely!
Cottidae Tho it's written like that, it's pronounced as 사랑에요. Just like hi can be said fast as 녀아세오 instead of 안녕하세요

I remember watching, a few years ago, a video from Korea where the video author offered salmiakki to random young people, probably at a university or some other school. Most naturally disliked it, but there was one guy who instantly enjoyed eating it. It was quite hearthwarming. Maybe if you had had more than three uninitiated Koreans in the group, you would have encountered the same small miracle.

Should some Finnish vlogger make a global apology video? "Sorry to made you horribly suffering, world." For all of them candy/snack videos where people had to taste Finnish stuff, with many varieties of salmiakki and licorice. And smile and say "thank you Finland" in the end. Hmmmm.... let me think. Naaaaw. It should rather be a "you're welcome world" video. We made you(r audience) laugh and were willing to lose our reputation as a sane people for it. If we still could lose it. Yeah, so nice of us.

Why do foreigners often say salmiakki is salty. It doesn't taste salty at all, but Salmiakki taste. Apparently, if you're not used to salmiakki, you can't distinguish the taste of salmiakki from salty taste.
Hahaha it's so entertaining to watch foreigners try salmiakki because no one ever likes it lol I myself love salmiakki so much and I love everything that has salmiakki in it lmao And i was so surprised to see danny there :')

IMO Suosikit is not very good salmiakki and I'm finnish.
I had the alcoholic drink version when I went to Finland... BY FAR the worse thing I've ever put in my mouth. 🤣🤣 I got sick right away, made it just in time to the bathroom... (I was in a bar, drinking beer most of the night!) I mean I BARELY dipped my lips in that shot glass I was offered, and I didn't need much more... xD Not for me! Needed all the Karjalas in the WORLD to wash that foul taste away! 😝

I like salmiakki and my girlfriend saw me eating some and asked to try it. I told her she probably wouldn't like it and she said she wanted some anyway. I gave her a couple of pieces, she put it in her mouth smiling and a couple of seconds later she looked like she'd just seen a dog get hit by a car.

fun fact; not all finnish people like salmiakki or licorice. Sure, all finnish people are familiar with them as we try them as a kid but not everyone likes them. The only salmiakki I enjoy is the fresh ones like "Sisu", but licorice, never... not in any shape or with anything else. I absolutely hate licorice.
