I’m a fan of the theatrical startup! Curtains open on a lonely fan. Dance starts, slowly building tension. Video cut short right before final climax! What a performance! 👏🏻
ahhh, but don't forget the 'reluctance' - thats the 'eeeck' of the massive bearing not wanting to move right at the beginning of rotation! i'm thinking Vincent price!
With huge machinery like this, electrical efficiency and power factor are very important. The driving motor probably rated at just enough power to keep the fan at rated RPM, hence the slow start-up.
actually, i think i hear a VFD solid state type device - the original would have had reduced voltage starter (delta/wye) - you can hear the very high freq harmonics.
very cool! my company did the test rig for a navy pump supplier 4160 with a vfd - have you worked with higher voltages? thats the highest i have seen - i know they are now 13kv or so@@AtlasReburdened
also -what's so cool? Hearing the massive bronze shaft bearings breaking 'stiction - when it first begins to turn and getting their lubrication film built back up -anything larger has a 'turning gear' that must keep the shaft turning slow -to keep this film intact@@AtlasReburdened

Yeah, that's what I thought, too! How come he cut it off right here? It took so long to speed up, too. Even as heavy as that motor shaft and those blades are, I'd think such a big strong motor wouldn't have such a soft start... even on a soft starter.
I'd imagine to keep the duct sealed, to keep air from blowing out or being drawn in. If you're running another fan somewhere a few miles away, you want the air to go the full length of the tunnel and not out earlier.

The sliding gate really deserves a badass loud deep beefy military-base-ish buzzer alarm.
Stargate SG-1 might fit the bill ;)

I'm a big fan of this video.
Beat me to it, lol
I think it blows
Yes, so much fanfare over the fan😂
Honestly they suck me right in.
I , am now a fan club member .
I feel robbed, the video should have gone on another 3 minutes

Thank you for not adding music to this
I didn’t know they had tours of Michael Moore’s bathroom fan. Amazing!
😂
Fantastic! You couldn’t put a better spin on it.
Haww... HAWWWW!
They should start their own Fan Club.
The softest starting motor that ever lived.
Should just go across the line, dim the lights in the city !
They painted it red so that when people get sucked it in, the splatters on the blades dont traumatize the other workers
Whats about the body part?
You've got what you want, Cohagen! Give these people air!
LOL I couldn't help but reading it in Arnie's voice in my mind. 😂
lol
Two weeks....two weeks😮
People actually get to work there while I have to sit in an office, it’s not fair
Now that's a turbo for my truck
The intrusive thoughts are telling me to jump into it
Well you aren't jumping in it, so you're a normal guy. Everything is fine with you.
You can do anything you can dream of in this world, if only once
Warning: Do not lick while spinning!
This is not sex toy so men don't go sticking ur talley wackers in there

The fans connected to a worm gear
Its creepy being so giant
Big machinery really is. Especially if it's automated. It's just so impersonal.
Why is that so... "creepy"? How does it supposedly feel like some crazy creeper skulking around?
@@HelloKittyFanMan i think everyone who isn't a pedant automatically understands OP means "creepy" as in the 'menacing' sense of the word.

Finally, a fan to cool my pc
Fan-tastic! :)
Safe to say I’m a heavy metal fan.
Definitely a scene from Half-Life.
Perfect place to throw a couple head crabs into
Would’ve said portal 2
Nah.
I used to love things like this, but now im an extractor fan.
Those doors opening reminded me a lot of portal 2 for some reason.
would be great to see full speed

thinking about it now , every one is standing in that fan room and if they speeded up the fan it could suck every one in. ????????
@@HelloKittyFanManYeah. Lame!
Nahh, @@wayneheigl5549, this isn't like... some big jet engine fan. You'd have to be a lot closer to this one for that to happen.
That video was originally posted on OnlyFans. Still, pretty cool.
Aww you cut the video during the climax 🤨
"Pleased to finally meet you, I'm such a massive fan!!"
He's a big fan of ur video
Each blade are red😂
Now THAT'S a fan
this might effectively cool my 3090
the biggest fan in the world
I love big machinery
That's one hell of a salami slicer.
Turbines are into all sorts of music But they are huge heavy metal fans
Played in reverse would be a scene from Total Recall
"I'm a huge metal fan"
Is that the fan for the whitehouse diaper room?
Why do they close those doors on it when it isn't running?

@@supergub: HAHA! 🌬️🌪️ But it was the thumbnail photo that sucked you in, right? 😂
Yeah, this video had so much promise but it turned out to be just a lot of hot air.
It was a shame the video stopped before the motor was up to speed.
Only question from me......
Why aren't the hatches open 24hrs ?
pretty sure this entire process was designed by Derek Meddings!
What kind of tunnel is it
What does this thing do? Fanning what?
Me when I fart,,,lol. Really it moves fresh air through the tunnel to help force out car and truck exhaust.
Does it ever finish starting up?
This is how fast it takes my RV to get up to speed when getting on the freeway.
Is it just me, but did anybody else feel like they got all worked up for nothing? Its like being married!
why dose this remind me of the thing that opens the vault in fallout
That is some crude hardware.
So does it go faster?
How fast does it spin 100rpm ????
That's a soft start
A bit too soft, the motor windings should be groaning during a proper startup!
I love fan
ny😂
😂
Just love machines big ones
I guess I'm in giant fan UA-cam now
I thought I was looking at a nautica fan for a moment
That is somehow scary...
Not fan waiting for this.
what...You didn't even let it wined up!
can this air cool an i9
Ants when you turn on your computer
this is big blender
Why so long to open? should've been air piston operated.
Looks like it could use a bit of a clean.. Who wants to volunteer I promise it’s turned off!

I wondered why the rats were so big.
Anyone else thinking what happens if that chain gets to close
That's it? I thought this thing would spin up to at least a 1000 rpm.
