How to carry out basic accessibility checks
Переглядів 68Рік тому
Testing the whether a website can be used by disabled people is one of the first steps to compliance with digital accessibility legislation and standards - but where should you start? In this interactive session, civil servants Beverley Newing and James Buller demonstrated simple accessibility testing on the fictional ‘Record a goose sighting’ online service. This includes keyboard tabbing, man...
Next PM give her a good power wash. 💦💦
Not a big fan of this video at all. Never saw it complete startup did we? I have an old Sears fan that moves more air than that.
Magnificent piece of engineering. The rotor weighs several tonnes and is perfectly balanced.
Its kind of scary looking. Door opens and there's a giant spinning red fan in a black hole
Total Recall flashback...
Now that's a big ass fan!
I’m not a big fan, but it will do
Been there. Seen that. Stood in just about exactly that spot.
Cool
That was underwhelming. I was expecting a bit higher rate of rotation.
New Intel 15th gen cooler dropped
Rumor has it: this fan still hasn't gained the full speed
Stand by for lift off
WWII equipment 😮
THAT IS INSANE!!!!! Thanks for sharing this. I'm a huge fan of giant industrial/municipal machinery.
With any fan, the energy required (current in amperes if electrically driven) at the initiation of start up is to overcome the static inertia, plus friction in the drive system. As the machine rotational speed increases, the air it now begins to move creates resistance, which requires proportionally more energy, until the maximum rotational speed is approached, at which point the turning force, or torque, should remain constant. It is the opposite situation (regarding starting from standstill), to a motor driving, say, a compressor, lathe or other machine, which requires an initial high starting torque, or electrical current. BUT...... you already knew that, I would have thought....(!!)
Air is overrated
This is the very definition of anticlimactic.
Now that's a big heavy metal fan! 🤙
Fascinating that most mechanical machines involves the spinning motion.
I don’t even think it hit 1 RPM by the end of the video
I wonder if this fan aired on tv, it would have blown the ratings by putting a new spin on things
Where is this? Britain?
Liverpool.
When your RPM is a decimal:
I don’t know why but there’s something really creepy about this. Like imagine you’re walking through a dark building and this big ass thing is at the end of the hallway running full speed
That was interesting. Thanks.
WHERE THE FFF IS THE REST OF THE VIDEO??
Fantastic!
Hubiera sido interesante ver el motor o motores que mueven ese ventilador a través de esa caja de engranajes...
Is this for a traffic tunnel?
The purpose of this is?
Air flow
Hat-tip to the lads at Metro-Vick for a gearbox that will be around in 200 years. Still working. Probably still ramping up to operating speeds. (a VFD the size of a city bus...)
Amd ryzen's fan
You can hear the whine of the VFD carrier - Imagine soft starting this before the VFD? Probably huge resistors to get it going initially.
Can you imagine the startup current that thing must draw, and for the length of time that it takes to start it? And it actually seems to be underpowered. A bigger motor would probably start it faster and with less energy use.
Why is it so slow
FANtastic!
that's a big MFer and i've seen some big fans that's bloody massive
I need this for my bedroom
1.21 Gigawatts! What was I thinking?????
runs like a breeze
I was not blown away by this video. Very disappointed by the description, it's just so much hot air.
I’m a huge fan
I'm not a big fan.
Cooling fan for my new gpu
The perfect fan for this summer. How much $ ?
That's one hell of a salami slicer.
I used to love things like this, but now im an extractor fan.
Turbines are into all sorts of music But they are huge heavy metal fans
Man , this video really blows
