The blue dennet supersprats are just bonkers. I’ve got one of the smaller ones that I use for finding the pollock shoals when I turn up because it catches all sizes of them. That thing has caught me 40 fish easily and the paint is all chipped off but it still works😂. The hooks have been bent and re bent back into to shape I don’t know how many times but I’ve had that lure for like 2 years now. I had a bigger blue supersprat and lost it when an absolute monster of a fish took it into the weeds when I was (foolishly) using a lighter rod thinking I wouldn’t get anything big. Another great lure especially when fishing is tough are marinorsilda lures. They’re a Norwegian brand Marinor, and can be quite hard to get your hands on I know a guy who orders them in so I have a stock😂.
The lighthouse on that promontory looks identical to the Bailey lighthouse here in Howth, Dublin. I thought it was for a second. Also a good spot for pollack, coalies and bass. What's it like for wrasse there at Strumble? Oh BTW, you meant imitate?
Just had a Google, definitely looks like the Bailey lighthouse! Cracking spot for pollack, also great for big conger if bottom fishing, some monsters off there. Definitely meant to say imitate!! You can fish for wrasse at your feet there, there are some good ones about, just will have a lot of pollock to contend with!
I’ve found it fishes well on a high on a big spring tide. Issue with that I find though is some of the waves there can be a little sketchy! I usually try 2-3 days before or after a big spring - where are you fishing at Strumble?
@@bengriffithsseaangling2138 yeah it is pretty exposed and tide runs really quick past the island, cheers for that, although I did fish it at that tide the other day and only got a wrasse 🤣 usually just to down by the bird watching hut, I did go over to the right to a nice spot but when I checked on a sea mapping chart it was actually much shallower than my usual spot !
@@jordanhughes6768 I know where you are roughly, find that good for maccies! Thing I find with the other spot is there seems to be an abundance of kelp etc which they seem to love - if you ever want me to show you where give me a bell!
@@bengriffithsseaangling2138 cheers for that mate really helpful, all good not after marks, just couldn't figure out why I was blanking a few times there because I know it's a decent Pollock mark ! Thanks for your help, the videos are class btw, if I see you out I'll stop for a chat 👌👌
That’s the million dollar question! It really depends, but generally pollack are found quite deep. I’d perhaps try using a weedless lure, let it sink to the bottom then bring the lure a few turns up. Work it back to you then with small twitches of the lure! Keep trying this, working your way up the water collum until you pick up some fish! Keep trying and eventually you’ll get it! Best of luck
Keep the videos coming mate, I live in Pembrokeshire its nice to see folks fishing here.
Thanks Mark, support is much appreciated. Hoping to get some new videos out soon!
One of the best instructional videos I’ve seen for pollack fishing off the rocks - very informative and covers all bases - top notch 👏👏
Thanks Paul. I’m glad you enjoyed the video 👏
Another good vid mate.
Thank you! This is the mark I referred to in the other video. Great mark, but be prepared for freak waves here

What tides do you find best for the Pollock mate ? Been fishing strumble over high tide but blanked a few times there

What leader are you using?
It’s so long ago now that I honestly cannot remember! All id say is match your leader to your weight you’re using so it doesn’t snap!
How deep are you wanting the lure to go?

When’s best time to fish for pollack nate
Where I’m from they’re here all year round! But generally spring and summer can pull up some bigger catches!
Just catched a 1kg atlantic pollock. Not that big, but it’s the biggest I’ve ever pulled out of the water.
Tidy catch that! Fish cakes?

A black or silver lure works best for Pollock, the secret news is a copper lure gets yoy cod
Copper lure, will have to try give that a go - thank you
