Haven’t got to go all the way to at Abbs to catch big bad pollock anymore. What a fish mate, if I caught one like that I’d have to put the lotto on and get a few scratchys on the way yehem. Smashing video Gaz keep up the good work 👍
I'm that impressed with your catch ive come of UA-cam on playstation and logged in on my phone just to say cracking catch mate 👍 not the fish the worm 😂
Never fished the Lee's. Gonna try one day. Never caught a pollock that big. Some fish. Great video. Off to shields pier tomorrow morning (Wednesday) gonna be a nice day according to the weather forecast.
I'm not sure what gear you are using but it doesn't look like super expensive kit, maybe im wrong. But if im right im glad to see UA-cam fishermen able to show that you don't need to spend a fortune to fish! Late to the party but we'll in big fella!
What leader do use? Tapered? What would you recommend 🤔, excellent fish funny enough that's about the same size as my shore caught PB Pollack 😄 nice one, mine was just a bit bigger low 😉
where abouts in the uk are you fishing ? im in Newcastle for uni and was wondering if you had any tips for good spots to fish pollock or mackerel! thanks
Great video. Shame you didn't have another light spinning rod with you already rigged up with a medium sized dexter/ish wedge. It is great to have the weight to cast long but with the bait fish and smaller mackerel being pushed in it was just begging for a lighter lure to work the water under that feeding frenzy.
Heyup mate, does this stretch of rocky coast between Trow Quarry car park and Marsden Bay fish best on lures at high tide? I went there just after low tide yesterday and it seemed a bit sketchy to get down close enough to the sea (I believe I went from Trow Quarry to just past Frenchmans Bay)
If your going fishing on the rocks tomorrow and want a +1 will be more than happy to come along. Had gone along today but someone had gone over the top of a cliff so gave it a miss
Love the content... Please could you make a video of what time of year is best for certain fish? I always seem to miss the Mackeral, and then I'm too early for the codling 👍🏻
Was on that spot on Saturday. Got a few mackerel and a coley. 7ft rod and 28g razorclaw with single hook instead of treble. Was hitting the mackerel on the drop near the bottom. Great fun. Think I would’ve had a heart attack if I'd hooked that pollack.
I usually take the lighter rod and 28g but for some reason decided to take the heavier rod and spinners, glad I did now think I would have struggled to get it in with the lighter rod but it would have been an excellent fight.
Cracking video buddy and what an amazing pollock !!! Well done … so what does it taste like as I’ve never had one before ??? Would love to try some rock fishing … so what size rod , reel and line do you think would be ok ??? Cheers and all the best 😀👍🏽🎣
Thanks John, it tastes a bit like cod...... im currently using a 10ft spinning rod that casts 10 to 60g , 5000 size reel and 25 or 30lb braid with 20lb amnesia rubbing leader.

I use the countdown method when fishing the lure so I can fish near the bottom but not get snagged on the bottom. It works most of the time but there's always a risk of getting snagged fishing over heavy ground.
