Cody's lab once managed to get a thunderous explosion out of thermite made with copper oxide rather than iron oxide. It seems to burn about as fast as black powder and gets hot enough for some of the copper released in the reaction to become vapour. I would advise that experiments with copper thermite are confined to small amounts in small containers. But what about a "race" between a trail of iron thermite and a trail of copper thermite, to see how much faster the copper thermite burns?

I remember an episode of one of the SCI shows, I think Miami, where a guy who'd watched a bunch of bank robbery movies decided to do it himself.
It was the now infamous movie heist scene of drilling or burning into the safe, and then using water and explosives to blow the safe open with hydro-static shock.
It plays out the whole thing including him getting away with it, and then jump cuts back to the room just after the explosion, and him dead having been pinned to the wall
and cut in half by the door when it was blown off... Super dark, but something I would be super scared of having happen doing this sort of thing in person.

Thermite doesn't generate gases, and I don't think it gets hot enough to boil the products, at least not enough to make a huge amount of pressure (aluminium oxide boils at 3000 C, as does iron). However, there's going to be a lot of air trapped in with the thermite, and given that the temperature of that air (in terms of absolute temperature) is going to be increasing about ten times, that'd increase the pressure inside by about a factor of ten too.

I assume they know what they are doing, but with these dynamite sticks, like cutting them can't set them off if there is like scraping the knife on a metal plate for example? If it is only high voltage that makes them go off, it may be a good idea to connect the leads far away to whatever power system in case it is already on.

I have a request. Fill an almost empty oxygen tank with a little acetylene and then ignite it. Will it explode or fly away like a rocket?

They make acetylene tanks that are just like the oxygen tanks. I use both at work for my torch. One oxygen and one acetylene I say try and blow both up at the same time to mix them together and see what happens.

Hey Lauri, I have idea for new content.
Could you show us experiments(with chronos camera) with plasma of inert gasses(argon, neon, krypton).
I know people can inhale different inert gasses and their voice will be changed according to the atom weight.
