As someone who hasn't played mmo's in a long loooong time, I am so happy that my way to level my free demo jobs are naturally fast :D I leveld one job doing all the side quests as I like to see my maps clean but other than that, hunting logs and raiding is really fast. I actually felt that leveling especially during msq was too fast as I had to level atleast three other jobs at the same time because I really didn't want to be 10 levels higher than the main story. I'll try to remember this video when I finally start to the monthly sub! For now though there is so much content to do just in the demo that it blows my mind!
I did Brayflox longstop... what 300 times? I used squads to level all my dps classes. setting ALL of them to Offense stance, and i believe having an archer for dps in the squad... Yeah, I could run BFLS in 10 minutes flat. yeah, im a masochist, but I wont do it ever again.
I can confirm all these methods work. Glad you added the caveat about queue times for DPS tho. And for people on the fence, Frontline roulette is awesome for levelling. There are so many people that it doesn't matter if you're not good at it. Plus you get the PvP currency, win or lose, that you can use to purchase glam, mounts, hairstyles, emote, etc
What you said about doing duties with NPCs, that people like to do Single target VS AoE, AoE is more time efficient by far. while the NPCs themselves do only single target, it might feel faster to bully the one enemy, but you can think of Dungeons as having one Big HP pool, you have to kill every Enemy that is pulled, so by doing AoE your pumping out a lot more damage and making it go quicker.
Also this, the other comment saying single target is faster is a misnomer; it may *feel* faster but if you were to be a very bad boy and have damage tracked you'd see it totally isn't. You're still dealing more damage overall (DPS), it just likely feels faster because you're taking less damage and seeing the enemies bar drain faster.
@@BunBossFFXIV heh, while I respect this showing your inner theorycrafter, ya can just math it out. Fast blade is 200 potency and total eclipse is 100 to all targets in 3y. However our single target combo ends in royal authority (350 potency) So that in consideration, at least for PLD, when down to two mobs this means your linked skills in the combo as pld will generate a bit more potency collectively single targeting. Any more than two and you're hitting 300+ potency a swing every time so AoE is far and away better.
Squadron makeup matters. Optimally, you want a Marauder, Conjurer, and Thaumaturge's for DPS. The Thaumaturge is important. TM's default AOE spam + will heal you too if the NPC Conjurer flubs or you accidentally overpull. If you keep them all on Offensive they turn into mindless beings of destruction comparable with Roulette runs. Then, there's the added benefit of keeping all the gear you loot plus being able to slow down/pause if your new job class' mechanics confuse you at points.
No, use two arcanists. A thousand times better than any other class as squadron. At aggressive 5 they destroy anything in seconds and since the carbuncle is their main DPS, they also don't lose damage when healing you. The difference is insane
@@Blubbii88 Whoops! You're right! I'm pretty sure I wrote this when I was maining my BM at the time and had a brain fart (it's why I said + heal you too ... I was thinking Arcanist). Optimal party makeup is: Marauder, Conjurer, and two Arcanists, not TM, for exactly what you just said.
Just resubbed to xiv recently and got my first skysteel tool fully upgraded thanks to the video you put out. Was just googling best way to lvl alt jobs and looking at threads and this vid gets uploaded! Keep up the great work man your vids are super helpful!
This is perfect since I'm done with my classes now and am picking up FFXIV again to level up my alt classes before graduation! Keep up the great work ステファンちゃん
Don't know if anyone's mentioned it yet, but one note about Frontline is that if you finish off your commedation weekly challenge in Frontline, the job you are PLAYING gets the exp reward, not the job you queued as. I have missed millions of experience forgetting this by accident lmao so be careful and have fun in Frontlines!
Hey BunBoss, I’ve gotten a lot of use out of your controller guides and they have made the game so much more immersive for me to play. You’re my go to for FFXIV content. I’m leveling my BLM to 70 for Shadowbringers content and am excited to put your tips to use!
One more thing along the lines of duty support is your Grand Company Squadron. Once they are leveled up, they will out dps a real party. Terrible at mechanics but they rarely die anyway. Good up to level 60.
THIS! I finally finished lv 5 offensive and they absolutely destroy dungeons, with me as a healer a just aggro everithing with tank and him and the 2 arcanist destroyed everithing in seconds, need like 9-11 minutes to clear a dungeon until level 50. They are a bit clunky in the start but you learn to deal with it very fast and they are great for every job and 9 of 10 times are much better than random roulette group.
Please don't overlook this comment! I just got around to unlocking my squadron at over 3k hours of play and wish I'd done it sooner. The only class I can use for this is RDM now and it's at 52... everything else is at least at 60 and most are 80...
I just found this myself, doing command missions I was able to level my machinist from lvl30 up ten levels in about 4 dungeon runs. I'm glad I invested by having them doing training before I found out I could actually use them as a good alternative to queueing with people I don't know in dungeons
Another great tip is to make sure your Challenge Log is Completed by the class you wanna level. It's a nice amount of weekly exp, and ontop of it you get a decent amount of gil. Ideally, you wanna complete all the Battle, Fate, and levequests categories. Levequests are easily cheesable by doing the low level crafter leves (if you aren't leveled in crafters and wanna be, make sure you do the highest possible) and buying the items from npc shops, then doing the battle leve when its the last entry for it, you can make a decent amount of exp.
Where are squadrons for the 20-60 range? They are a little bit dumb, but requires minimum management and are so ridiculously OP they are the best option, unless you want a break.
Regarding the Shadowbringers beast tribe quests, what I did is after I got a job to lvl 70 I "soft stopped" and started to level another job from scratch with the same methods you described while I did the beast tribe quests daily with the job I left at 70. If you don't have THAT much time to play daily I found this nice to sorta level two jobs at the same time with very little effort. Could do the same once you reach 80 for the EW beast tribe quests (If you have one job in the 70's, another in the 80's you can level three jobs at once). Not sure if this is better but if you queue in roulette as DPS those beast tribes for other jobs are a perfect time killer and you get a lot of XP too! Btw, the time spent in pre- SHB beast tribe quests is not worth it assuming you've already finished them all. Also, I heard it's best to leave the "Levelling" roulette for the end of the day, like, last thing you do before logging out, and the same goes to Wondorous tails, wait until the end of the week to get that XP, so that you have the highest level possible (And try to align that XP gain so that you can clear a level gap with no dungeon to run).
I would even say the xp of crystalline conflict is not so bad if you're just into spamming some rounds. Granted it's not as reliable, since you gain considerably less if you lose the match, but it has the benefit of being quick paced if you need a change of pace from the long dungeon runs.
One thing I learnt from just trial and error with duty support is that if you're not the tank, the NPC tank will take the aggro and chase after you if you pull more down the path, so you can aggro mobs and the tank will force itself to you, Tbf probably common knowledge but god it made life simpler knowing I can force big pulls with the NPC that has skills it shouldn't have on early dungeons lol
I love how in depth and useful this guide is. I didn’t think about most of these things and i have quite a few leveled job, i am one of those people who works on one job at a time and just does my daily roulettes on it
Mentor here, If you have friends (or PF patience) and you are mentor look to party with 1 sprout/returner or viceversa before queue, both of you will get EXP bonus just from that up to lvl 80. Doesn't matter what kind of mentor you are, that exp bonus is very sweet. (This doesn't apply if the Duty finder paired you, you have to be in party BEFORE looking for dungeon... It works for crafters as well if not mistaken)
I normally hate MMORPG PVP, but the Frontline roulette's XP is too good to pass up. On top of that, doing the grind will gain you access to PVP-exclusive emotes, hairstyles, cosmetic gear, minions, and mounts. So there's nice fringe benefits on top of the XP. The only downside is that how long it takes depends a lot on the chosen battleground. Like Carteneau really drags out compared to the others.
For 1-20 there is a way way quicker way to get to speed through the ranks. Have a friend join you in an area with a level 59-60 enemy range on a DPS class (important to note do not have them join your party) so they can one shot the ads, so long you hit them once you’ll get full XP.
Definitely seconding the idea of queueing into an actual dungeon with real people as a DPS when you're sub-50. While hunting log is great to get 1-15, it also has additional stages that unlock at later levels ( I believe the five ranks unlock at lv1, 10, 20, 30, and 40). So all the way until level ~45 or so, I was queuing into dungeons and while I waited, scooting around Eorzea to kill a couple of marks until all five ranks of my job's hunting log were knocked out. With the Road to 80 buff, those two techniques vaulted me to 50.
I imagine duty support is slower because the npcs only single target and they probably run the lowest possible item level for that duty. But that's only a guess of mine. About AoEs vs Single Targeting, I think it varies a little from job to job, but there is an absolute objectively correct choice to make. Generally, for groups of 3 or more mobs using AoEs will give you greater total potency output. That is why clearing mobs goes faster when everyone uses AoEs. Greater potency output equals faster clear time regardless of whether you deplete the total pool of mob hp one mob at a time or distributed across all the mobs. The reason AoEs are beneficial is because they scale with the number of mobs hit (I don't know if there is a cap on how many mobs can be hit with one AoE, but there probably is.), while a single target attack will only ever do base damage + modifiers to a single target. An AoE that does 50 potency will deplete the enemy hp pool faster than a single target attack that does 200 potency in a fight against 5 or more mobs. I have not yet discovered the secrets behind how skill potency relates to equipment stats, but I assume that differences in gear can possibly cause some variation in damage output between characters with similar potency output. I would very much appreciate if someone who knows that stuff could lay some wisdom on me. Thanks!
Yes Wondrous Tails scales its experience yield with your level, but it always awards 50% of your current level's experience requirement, so it doesn't really matter what job you finish it with
duty roulette once a day for leveling dungeons gives 2 levels. then i spammed the highest normal leveling npc dungeon i could which gave around 1 level per 20 min. then when i could bare it no longer i went for the hunting log and some fates here and there. pre lvl 16 i just spammed fates and hunting log because the increased xp from having a lvl 50 is so massive it takes like 1 hour to get to 16 lol
I find that if I'm done with roulettes and spamming duties I will usually pick the top TWO or THREE duties. Makes the queue go faster by giving more options and adds a little source of surprise and variation
One thing i don't see mentioned in this guid though is great for gettin from level 20 to 50 is command missions. there isn't a queue time, the npcs can carry you the entire time, and the items can be resold for seals to continue grinding the command missions. Brayflox longstop, and stone vigil are great for grinding seals for higher dungeons, then when you have the party for it, sohm al. these will cuase you to make way more seals then you put in allowing you to gather all the low level armor pieces for your company to make grinding much easier. Doing command missions also levels up the display orders which can result in you having very powerful npc that start with +60% to their stats.
@@BunBossFFXIV there is a learning curve to it that is very simple. under most classes that i have gotten to level 60, you only need at most 9 skills, and of those 9, you get many from leveling up, and only need at most 1 or 2 to operate your squadron. you can even do wall2wall pulls with them as early as level 20 in some areas
so nothing for the 60-70 part... wondrous tale doesnt work. I'm not gonna spend 50 hr trying to match these things for half a bar when I can spend 2hr for half a bar doing queue.yes, that's 2 dungeon. wait times are currently 40-60m for DPS. it says 20 but it's more than 40. I wasted so many food item because of this... 60-70 is where my dps are and they stagnate there forever.
Best " alt class"... level arcanist from lvl one, that way from the time it splits to SCH/SMN at 30 you get 2 jobs for the effort of one. When i add an alt job i use msq on main job and side quests for the alt, and roulettes when those are used up.
there are a few interesting findings that the Speedrun Community made with the duty support NPCs that allow you to actually speed up dungeons immensly, the 2 most notable ones beein they teleport to you if you run too far ahead and them making it fairly easy to lock trash mobs outside of boss rooms if you position your tank correctly and pull the boss towards the entrance. since trash mobs in dungeons dont give EXP anymore its even more time efficient to just ignore em, specially since allmost all ARR dungeons are build in a way you have no barriers between bosses, allowing you to clear em technically without killing a single not boss enemy. Just to add to the example with Haukke Manor, i had cleartimes arround 14-17 min with the NPCs, using a fairly low geared Pugilist that never completed a single jobquest and just had the level up skills he gained naturally.
For both Deep dungeon and Bozja/Zadnor one thing you didn't mention is that you don't need to worry about your gear at all. If you are leveling multiple jobs you won't have the tomestones for each of them. Also in Bozja/Zadnor after completing the story you can still get stronger by turning in 20 mil mettle for the suns which will also unlock a title if you max it out.
Daily Hunts are super easy boosts to XP. 50-60 are the hardest to level through. You're best off doing main story roulette and trying to get deep dungeon out of the way for later content. Grinding PVP is also a viable method. My MCH is almost entirely PVP grinded. Always fate farm with bozja weapons, you get credit regardless of job. RMDPS Do insane damage in early dungeons. Pull the whole dungeon if you get double Ranged Melee. Finishing bi-color gemstones will take 3 jobs from 70-90.
Actually, the fastest way for leveling from 16-50 is to have a friend, take a blue mage, and solo the dungeons for you. Use unrestricted party but with level synced. It can bring a character to 50 just in an hour. Unfortunately most people cannot use this method lol Also, from lvl 61-70 the deep dungeon is also a great choice. If you would like to do daily roulettes, make sure the level is 71 and above (or 81 and above). Doing daily roulettes with a job lvl 70 or 80 would significanly decrease the exp gain for some unknown reason.
Your issue with the dungeons using your free company team was you were using a black mage. All dps jobs in that are not equal at all. White mage, warrior and archer made spamming those dungeons way faster than player groups for me but you need to actively control the npcs. You can mass pull because the warrior can holmgang multiple times and they don't have cds the same way players will
I do recommend single targeting mobs in duty support, and specifically target the same enemies as the npcs. I don't know if npcs EVER aoe, if they do it is waaaaay later. At these levels, most jobs aren't going to have substantial aoes, and npc tanks only do small pulls, so you're gonna find that by the time there are two enemies left, your aoe damage hasn't done much and you gotta single target anyways. DPS especially will have much stronger single target dps at these levels. But also, npc healers are very liberal with their heals. They'll heal the tank less frequently if there are less enemies hitting them. Its a small dps boost, but it's mathematical lol I also don't recommend doing duty support as anything BUT dps (unless your leveling trust npcs of course), since queue times are faster on tank and healer, and you can't pull much more than a small pull in duty support as a tank, cause the npcs will kinda just not follow you if you run to grab more, and since they only single target you'll be taking a lot of damage for a long time, and as a healer you just won't be putting out nearly as much dps as a party, since NPCs do a lot less dpc than players, due to a number of factors
I agree with everything here and I will follow it, I just dont understand why wondrous tails is a method for farming 60 - 70. It's a weekly reset, you're only going to get it once every 7 days. What else is there to farm? Dead queues on HoH or back to highest level dungeon farming? There is no NPC dungeons so as dps it is a huge time loss to wait for 20+ minutes on queue for around 40% exp bars. There has to be a better method for SB
If you're on road to 80 then just do hunting logs and class quests to 20, there is more than enough xp to get you there with the first 2 logs. And its far faster than anything else, once you reach that point I always opt for the Duty Support. Is it slower than running roulette? Yes, but its at my pace and I can always take a break mid run to do something etc.. It's just a nicer experience when you're grinding out levels. The GO GO GO, attitude of actual players is exhausting. Anyway, I tried the difference going 20-50 on a Tank, healer and 2 DPS, the healer and tank ran with actual parties and my 2 dps did not, one of my dps ran aoe whenever there was more than 2 targets and the other single target dpsed like the NPCs did. The difference in real life time was a few hours between tank/healer and the dps, and about an hour or so between the two dps jobs. A few hours is nothing at the grand scheme of things and I'll stick with NPCs for my alt-lvling going forward. The rest of the video, pixies, frontlines, tales etc... All perfectly accurate. And unless they massively buffed/nerfed Shadowbringer dungeons, Bozja is better.
For 80-90 the best way to level a job imo without too much hassle is just doing roulettes, WT, the hunt and Elephant ppl beast tribes. With the last one at max rank you can get from 80 to 90 in like 3 days just doing those things, 4 if you don’t have WT. That’s how I got all my classes to 90 recently.
just bought the game half off and will be resubscribing to the game once I get through some games and do some stuff in free trial. I haven't played the game since 2015 or 16 up until 2 months ago on whim and fell in love with the game during the dragonsong war. I'll also be using this guide to level up DRK, SAM, and RDM.
I recently leveled Ninja using Squadron Dungeons and it is actually pretty great way to level up especially when you unlock offensive tactics for them all they start doing great damage even higher than yours overall. I found out that by far the best setup is Arcanist (or two if you are not dps) + Healer + Marauder. Arcanist and his pet does highest DPS and Marauder even if he have some problems with grabbing initial aggro he does way more damage than Gladiator which is all that matters when you wanna level fast.
Yes, I lvl almost all my job to 60 by using squadron, they're very OP if you know how to use them, they have more DPS and most AoE and boss mechanics didn't affect them. For a tank, you can pull wall to wall and let's ACN AI AOE mobs down. If you are a healer, you can command tank to grab all mobs, run wall to wall and spam heal them. DPS is trickier to wall to wall, in my experience ACN AI is end up dead every big pull. Also, you can micro them and just watch they kill.
@Bun Boss FFXIV my squadron dungeon runs can be 11 or 12 min and some of my npc did not have max offense. I don't know about that vs real queues and there is an investment to squads hence I understand why you didn't include.
PotD is still king to me because it’s easyer to marathon through. When you find the place to go to the next floor you can just afk for a min or so. It takes me 15m for run, exp is about 39~57% exp per run
Once I unlocked Bozja/Zadnor, I leveled all my jobs through here. You can jump in here at any level and it bumps you to 80 and you continue gaining exp for your job. Got my Sad Camel Dragon because of this.
0.52 does anyone have any good data for this re: PotD vs dungeon spamming? I'm a relatively new player (2years) and have gotten into arguments lately with some veteran FC friends about this lol. I'm convinced dungeon spamming is faster, but they won't budge and keep recommending PotD for other players levelling, when they haven't levelled anything in that range for years
I did the data testing myself. I ran queued and ran palace of the dead. I should have put it in a spreadsheet quite honestly lmao so you can use it to combat bad information. It was so bad it was laughable.
@@BunBossFFXIV admittedly i havent tested the 51-60 floors properly which people claim are better, but it still doesn't seem worth it. Especially if you consider queue times - i'm doing most levelling on OCE which struggles for quick DF queues sometimes, let alone deep dungeon. I might drop it since i don't know if its worth the headaches with them anymore, but some spreadsheet data might be nice for my own sanity eventually
Remember the most important thing is to not burn yourself the game should be fun. Sometimes I get a little to focused on being efficient because I wanna use my sub time efficiently since I can't always pay it but then I burn out spamming dungeons or something.
I find the release time of this guide a bit interesting, since we're just about to get a new deep dungeon on Tuesday which will probably be way more active now on release than some time later down the line. Of course the exp gained from there is anyone's guess and I understand that deep dungeons are not everyone's cup of coffee, but if you're in doubt, better try it on release when there's more people doing it, if possible.
I know it’s not recommended to buy all the lvl 80 books but if we did could we lvl from 80 to 90 just by doing the daily roulette. I want all max classes by next expansion
That is totally doable. I would focus getting them all the 80 and then if you wanted to take a break and just do daily roulettes for each day that would get you there in probably a month or two.
PVP and beast tribes is how I level my tanks, I HATE tanking and will not tank a dungeon unless it's with the NPCs. pvp / beast and journal are a god send for those classes
Fastest Leveling from 71-90 is The Bozjan Southern Front, I already tested it and done with it 4 Characters my main and 3 alts all Max Level 90 after patch 6.1!
I have a question if someone can please confirm as new to this game - when you do a dungeon the mobs give you no exp, my friend said the more mobs you kill the more exp you get from killing the bosses as they only give exp. This true? Or should I be rushing to the bosses and only killing mobs if I have to
I'm a new player, one thing I dont understand is am I supposed to spam the leveling roulette (even after the first one of the day) or do the highest lvl non-max dungeon like auren vale specifically? Or do i select all the dungeons from aurenvale downwards (until i cant select more) and run those on repeat?
From 70-90 Bozja is the best for me, i got around 300k exp per skirmish, 800k per CE, depend on how many ppl playing i can level up 5 lv in 1 night, about 3 4 hours
squadrons if you have it available is worthwhile, they might not dodge AOE or do mechanics well, but they have higher damage output and actually AOE effectively, especially archnist with shadow flare and archer stacking dots with AoE, and up to HW dungeons you can get gill from mobs as oppose to using trusts wich do not give gill from killed mobs.
it is a good idea to single target when in duty support, the mobs do go down a lot faster than if you spam aoe abilities and make the dungeons go by a bit faster. if you aoe in duty support... you are the weakest link.
If you leveled your squadrons it might surprise you how crazy those dudes can go. The "normal" duty support is weak, yes, but squadrons are even faster than real players. It takes me 12 minutes for TamTara for example as tank/dps. Healer is a bit slower, but still better than with player queues. So if you plan to level lots of alts it's totally worth it to invest in the great company duty group. They'll carry you easily to level 60. Just level the members to rank 4or5 and set them to "offensive" gameplay - and lean back and watch^^
I would at anytime if I leveled a DPS use a team of Squadrons over Trust in the Level frame of 21 - 50. I would not take them longer then to 50 becuase they become wired in Heavenward content cuz of the way you as a player handle them, this is just my opinion. but else im totally agree with your other locations. Haven't unlocked Bozja yet. But if we talk the other two roles just que for the highest dungeon. And the Wonderers Tails book should first be delivered the day before it runs out or you are high enorth level to get a good benefit of it. The reason is that Wonderers Tails will always give the job a half level. That is also the reason why it only gave your bard 50k exp and your higher level 5mil exp instead.
Does this method "require" having one class to max level? I say this because i pushed a new character to unlock eureka, but wanna level up other classes. however, my highest class is at 71. Im aware i can do MSQ at 70+ for xp, but that doesn't apply to my lower level classes.
Hi there! Great video, I do have one counterpoint though regarding the Wondrous Tails. I agree that it shouldn't be used pre-50, but I would actually prioritize Wondrous Tails for 50-60 levels over 60+, personally. 50-60 has been the slowest levels in my experience, and anything you can do to get out of that lull goes a long way. Just my own opinion based on my time leveling. :)
I don't understand. Do I spam 'leveling roulette' all the time or just do it once for the day and then go for the highest level dungeon before patch (The Aurum Vale and before) that's within my level?
Isn't the reason the XP is higher when you turn your WT in on a higher character because it's giving you the same XX% of a level for turning it in? That's always been my assumption.
You mistunderstood the video. You would only run leveling dungeons, which are aurum vale, then when level 51 youd run dusk vigil, then sohm al, as you level. You would never run praetorium multipel times for leveling alts.
nicely done video. short, informative, to the point plus external resources - what's not to like? oh, and time stamps! :D I have so many jobs to level, I'll def make use of this. thanks!
It's funny because I've leveled multiple characters to 60 free to play and never purchased the game but these are all the strategies i was prepared to go with when purchasing the full game. Sprout by my name, but I'm feeling confident after this video.
i dont get it,for example im lv 50 machinist,so its better to run the aurum vale for the 500th time (lv 47) over something like snow cloak (lv 50) wouldnt i get more exp from snowcloak ?
cap level dungeons (50, 60, 70, 80 and 90) are not designed to help you level up because they are endgame content in their respective expansion, which means they were made with the assumption that the player can enter them at a point they can't get exp or levels anymore
@@TheRapidVengeance That's correct. Generally speaking, the highest level dungeon you can queue of those inbetween is the one that will give you most exp e.g. if you're level 58, level 57 dungeon (The Vault) is the one that will give the highest amount up until 59
I disagree with bozjan, just one run of Castrum is enough to level a class once at Minimum, i leveled sage from 70 to 80 faster if not just as fast as main scenario roulette runs
FFXIV can be played as a solo RPG if thats your thing, the story is the 'main meal' of this game so its not really a question of if its for new players. FFXIV is at its current highest point right now as well, so once you get to endgame you'll find your place easily.
Que time is fine. Make me Remember last night waited 150min to get in to titan extreme just becuse I had a blue quest but I never got to finish the damn stupid quest becuse we died 2 times and every one gave up. Tried leveling my Pug today que time around 30-40min. Maybe the que time is good on US server but on EU it´s bloody crap. I wish Square could change the NPC to maybe make a bit more DMG such to make solo with NPC a bit better. Seeing as im also no fan of playing with random people that love to give up so damn easily or cause a drama if your not healing them fast enough.
Squadrons are DELETING the enemies . I finish Aurum Vale easy in 10 minutes with them and real life players take at least 15 minutes if I am lucky. Stone Vigil my best is 11 minutes and real player take up to 20!
With the 6.38 a good way to farm XP is in the new deep dungeon. With a good group it takes less than 15min (with a speed group could be less) for more than 1/3 of your xp bar. And you can learn earlier your lvl 90 rotation and get a 620 weapon. It's better for leveling 81->85 but dungeon are better for 86-90 I think
I stopped playing FF14 bc I'm a solo player and this wasn't a solo friendly game at all. I'm only just now coming back bc I heard their adding trusts to all the dungeons. Thanks for the guide
And whoever is saying squadrons are masochist….
They're fine (and fast when ranked up). If you're leveling a tank with them though, then you are indeed a masochist
I did that! and yes masochist for sure
Yeah, I could run BFLS in 10 minutes flat.
yeah, im a masochist, but I wont do it ever again.
squadrons with lvl 5 offensive on all 3 are way better than duty finder...

CC is more time efficient then Frontline tbh.
@@breakthecode4634 there's no Roulette for CC I don't think
I'm already out of things to use the wolfmarks one :(
@@TheWipal you can use them to buy ventures. I think also on materia (which you can then trade to get better materia)
For science I want to test this!
@@BunBossFFXIV heh, while I respect this showing your inner theorycrafter, ya can just math it out.
Fast blade is 200 potency and total eclipse is 100 to all targets in 3y. However our single target combo ends in royal authority (350 potency)
So that in consideration, at least for PLD, when down to two mobs this means your linked skills in the combo as pld will generate a bit more potency collectively single targeting. Any more than two and you're hitting 300+ potency a swing every time so AoE is far and away better.
@@Eta_Hoyimi Yes, I completely understand that it does not work out math wise xD oh jeez
Glad I could help
This is perfect since I'm done with my classes now and am picking up FFXIV again to level up my alt classes before graduation! Keep up the great work ステファンちゃん
Jjiiiimmmy sannn!!! I misssssss youuu
Thank you 🙌🙌🙌
As someone who is just getting into it seriously and still a noob at FFXIV I subbed. This video was quick helpful and to the point🙏🏼
🥰🥰🥰🙌🙌
One thing I learnt from just trial and error with duty support is that if you're not the tank, the NPC tank will take the aggro and chase after you if you pull more down the path, so you can aggro mobs and the tank will force itself to you,
Tbf probably common knowledge but god it made life simpler knowing I can force big pulls with the NPC that has skills it shouldn't have on early dungeons lol
I tried your method today to level up my white mage and dark knight and omg it works amazingly well thanks to you
I normally hate MMORPG PVP, but the Frontline roulette's XP is too good to pass up.
Cons, require a friend
Makes the queue go faster by giving more options and adds a little source of surprise and variation
the algorithm is reading my mind.. was planning to play again and planning to max all jobs
Your referring to squadrons and those are definitely the worse to run. Like horrible.
Unfortunately most people cannot use this method lol
Also, from lvl 61-70 the deep dungeon is also a great choice.
You can mass pull because the warrior can holmgang multiple times and they don't have cds the same way players will
I didn’t have the choice for that particular dungeon
It is so nice to have what I'm already doing to get my Amaro mount (all battle jobs at 80+) confirmed
Haha it’s a solid way to level and not actually play the job
Hunts between 70-90 (appropriate to your level) give insane XP also. Go the dungeon queue every time, it's 1000 times faster than NPC's!
Its a small dps boost, but it's mathematical lol
I also don't recommend doing duty support as anything BUT dps (unless your leveling trust npcs of course), since queue times are faster on tank and healer, and you can't pull much more than a small pull in duty support as a tank, cause the npcs will kinda just not follow you if you run to grab more, and since they only single target you'll be taking a lot of damage for a long time, and as a healer you just won't be putting out nearly as much dps as a party, since NPCs do a lot less dpc than players, due to a number of factors
Just what I needed to speed up my NA alt, thanks.
🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
For 80-90 the best way to level a job imo without too much hassle is just doing roulettes, WT, the hunt and Elephant ppl beast tribes. With the last one at max rank you can get from 80 to 90 in like 3 days just doing those things, 4 if you don’t have WT. That’s how I got all my classes to 90 recently.
I hit bozja from 70-90 on alt jobs
5:57 He's says Doo-doo roulettes. Doesn't matter if that was intentional, I'm stealing that forever
Issue I’ve had with queue’ing for dungeons had a bit too much variance when it came to times. I still do it because I prefer to play with others ^^
Question. So you should not keep doing the random dungeon finder, you should be doing the highest level specific dungeon that you can ?
just bought the game half off and will be resubscribing to the game once I get through some games and do some stuff in free trial. I haven't played the game since 2015 or 16 up until 2 months ago on whim and fell in love with the game during the dragonsong war. I'll also be using this guide to level up DRK, SAM, and RDM.
Welcome back!
5min queue times as a dps? It takes nearly half an hour for me. I am better off running duty support and trust than waiting
IDG why to avoid the post patch dungeons? I get that they used to be the level cap, but they aren't anymore so surely they still grant good exp?
Because they give less experience. I could give a long ass explanatin as to why they do, but hopefully someone will do that here.
@Bun Boss FFXIV oh, OK. Tbh the long explanation will probably just confused me so thank you for the simple one lol
Squadrons were horrible. But I might have to test all three ways for science 😅😂😂
So you're saying for Dungeons, the word "leveling" is the one I should take when leveling and avoid the other dungeons that said "level 50/60/70/80" ?
If you have squadrons leveled and offensive on them they go through dungeons quicker than the duty support
Could not find "Wondrous Tales" cause it seems to be named "Wondrous Tails" in the game.
Squad seems to do more damage than duty support plus reward more exp. It’s what I did.
Once I unlocked Bozja/Zadnor, I leveled all my jobs through here. You can jump in here at any level and it bumps you to 80 and you continue gaining exp for your job. Got my Sad Camel Dragon because of this.
Must be 71+ to go into Bozja content, but it is great to get to 80 fast
@@YehImLeo good to know! By the time it came out all my jobs were 70+ so I mistook it to be like PotD.
😂😅
I know it’s not recommended to buy all the lvl 80 books but if we did could we lvl from 80 to 90 just by doing the daily roulette. I want all max classes by next expansion
That is totally doable. I would focus getting them all the 80 and then if you wanted to take a break and just do daily roulettes for each day that would get you there in probably a month or two.
Seeing as I am working on my third job, this is great.
You got this!
Do you have the data and numbers for reference?
I have a question if someone can please confirm as new to this game - when you do a dungeon the mobs give you no exp, my friend said the more mobs you kill the more exp you get from killing the bosses as they only give exp. This true? Or should I be rushing to the bosses and only killing mobs if I have to
Rush to the boss, bosses always give the same amount of EXP.
What about lvling blue mage from 1-90(or whatever blues go up to)?
So interesting!
@@BunBossFFXIV fascinating insight.
Just level the members to rank 4or5 and set them to "offensive" gameplay - and lean back and watch^^
how can I find out where I am in the questline to unlock this?
Im aware i can do MSQ at 70+ for xp, but that doesn't apply to my lower level classes.
good guide thank you i think i'll lvl my machinist now.
♥️♥️♥️
Aurum vale is great for levelling, you can run in 10min if you with a good group.
Thanks for sharing!
I don't understand. Do I spam 'leveling roulette' all the time or just do it once for the day and then go for the highest level dungeon before patch (The Aurum Vale and before) that's within my level?
Once.
Isn't the reason the XP is higher when you turn your WT in on a higher character because it's giving you the same XX% of a level for turning it in? That's always been my assumption.
It’s always 50% of your bar. Which is why it’s more useful on higher level jobs that require more xp
@@BunBossFFXIV OIK duh, yes that makes sense. Thanks for clarifying!
So do I really have to just run pratorium a crap load from 50-60? Is there really no other way?
You mistunderstood the video. You would only run leveling dungeons, which are aurum vale, then when level 51 youd run dusk vigil, then sohm al, as you level. You would never run praetorium multipel times for leveling alts.
refer to the description box link to see what dungeons are labeled leveling.
Im confused. The 60-70 you put wondrous tales but concluded not to without a way to level for that level bracket? Did i miss something?

@@BunBossFFXIV oh ok. I apologize. I misunderstood. I get it now.

nicely done video. short, informative, to the point plus external resources - what's not to like? oh, and time stamps!
Zadnor in my opinion is the best way to level post 70 still.
i dont get it,for example im lv 50 machinist,so its better to run the aurum vale for the 500th time (lv 47) over something like snow cloak (lv 50) wouldnt i get more exp from snowcloak ?
cap level dungeons (50, 60, 70, 80 and 90) are not designed to help you level up because they are endgame content in their respective expansion, which means they were made with the assumption that the player can enter them at a point they can't get exp or levels anymore
@@wolfking4556 so ur saying for leveling u do everything inbetween like 51 - 59 / 61 - 69 ect ?
@@TheRapidVengeance That's correct. Generally speaking, the highest level dungeon you can queue of those inbetween is the one that will give you most exp e.g. if you're level 58, level 57 dungeon (The Vault) is the one that will give the highest amount up until 59
I disagree with bozjan, just one run of Castrum is enough to level a class once at Minimum, i leveled sage from 70 to 80 faster if not just as fast as main scenario roulette runs
I played a lot of final fantasy games as well as mmorpgs. At this point, is FFXIV a game for new players?
Yeeeee I’d say so there going to fix it up soon I think
FFXIV can be played as a solo RPG if thats your thing, the story is the 'main meal' of this game so its not really a question of if its for new players. FFXIV is at its current highest point right now as well, so once you get to endgame you'll find your place easily.
wooo first, the same as the level of my lancer which i have never touched!
😂😂 yaasss
So same as always. Do the highest level dungeons. Avoid Level 50, 60, 70, and 80 dungeons, and save Roulettes for those levels.
Really good advice!
Glad it was helpful!
Super helpful thanks!
Ohhh yea you would never and I mean never queue for extremes/savages ever. You would do that unsynced.
Potd is good at non peak times beats 12min queues. 300k xp for a 12min run. Potd and hoh beat out highest level dungeon on time played.
So 60-70 leveling guide is just weekly wonderous tails?
Wait I can que as a job I hate in pvp and then switch to one I like........my mind has been blown
Bozja is better to run on weekends makes it easier to get a party and the fates just super fast
