If not previously mentioned, Jackson Browne wrote much of this song but had yet to finish it.... Glenn Frey lived upstairs from Jackson and heard him writing and trying to finish the song. He asked Jackson if he could use the tune for the Eagles depute album but JB was having problems with it. Frey helped out, coming up with the line, "Its a girl my lord in a flat bed ford.... JB gave him song writing credits and the rest is history. There is a great early video of the Eagles with Jackson Browne and Linda Ronstadt singing the tune.
Joe Walsh, the guy with the red bandana, is known for his crazy personality (in a good way). My brother saw them a couple of years ago and he said he still steals the show. The Eagles sounds just as good in concert as they do in the studio - so beyond talented. At least three of them had solo careers as well Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Glenn Frey. Another great one from this concert is the shy bass player, Randy Meisner, singing "Take It to the Limit".
You must do their performance "Take It to the Limit". Please do the 1977 live version with the late Randy Meisner. He sings lead and it is a tour de force performance by him and the band, just amazing!
The Eagles were considered a "Super" group because Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Glen Frye were all successful solo artists. Thanks for your reaction. Love the Eagles.
You need to visit Winslow Arizona. I had the time in the late 70’s. The corner mentioned in this song has been “memorialized” with all sorts of Eagles recognition👍👊😉💥
Their album On The Border is criminally underrated! Check out Already; Gone James Dean; Ol’ 55 (gets a lot of flack because it’s a cover of a Tom Waits classic but I love their version); Best Of My Love. Hell do the whole album! Btw Bernie Leadon played the banjo - he had left the band already when they performed this! Peaceful Easy Feeling and Tequila Sunrise are two other Glenn Frey vocal classics. Also two deep cuts from Hotel California: Wasted Time and Victim Of Love. Enjoyed your reaction! The Eagles get a lot of unfair criticism imho…glad you appreciate them- everyone should!
It's summer and my friends and I are sitting in front yard waiting for a guy from down the street and across the tracks to come down on his horse, in his car or truck...memories
Another great band in the same era to check out is a group called "The Band." And they're named that for a reason. They consist of five Canadians and one American, an iconic drummer named Levon Helm. I'd start with their song The Weight. They were so good director Martin Scorsese made a documentary movie about them called The Last Waltz.
Definitely check out TAKE IT TO THE LIMIT and LYIN EYES from the same concert if you can. As far as "B" sides, I don't know which ones qualify as a "B" but a few great ones are THOSE SHOES, IN THE CITY, THE GREEKS DON'T WANT NO FREAKS, Don Henley's BOYS OF SUMMER and Joe Walsh's LIFE'S BEEN GOOD.
Glen Frey talks clearly about how he learned to write songs once he moved to Los Angeles. His neighbor in the basement apartment below him was Jackson Browne with a tea pot, lost of weed and hearing the same song building word by word line by line a thousand times a day. First one line, over and over until the next rhyme presents itself.
Bernie Leadon was replaced by Joe Walsh in 1975. Bernie was their country-esque player, using mandolin and banjo as well as his telecaster. Joe wasn't much a banjo enthusiast.
Good luck! Eagles are notorious for blocking and burning channels who show their stuff. I hope I’m wrong…..One of my fave bands. Saw them live in the 90’s..open air stadium……just as the sun went down……Such a memorable night.
The Eagles just practised a lot. The Amazing Rhythm Aces used to tour with them, and they just stated that fact when some "journalists" accused them of merely playing to a backing track. Nope. They were just that good. Now? They can't hit the same notes anymore and actually do rely on a backing track for some of their vocals. How the mighty have fallen!
All members wrote songs. Sang lead. Most of them also had solo careers. GLE.N who sang lead here was also an actor. Check out Joe Walsh from same show Rocky Mountain Way. Another of his great songs is Life's Been Good (an autobiographical). Joe Walsh and Ringo Starr (from Beatles) are brothers inlaw.
Take it to the Limit! And a much underated song Try and Love Again!!! You will need to go with the studio version. It is mesmerizing. ❤️✌️ Im gonna sub because i know that you listen to it!!
A few other good sons - some B side Those Shoes Witchee Woman On the Boarder Disco Strangler Already Gone James Dean O’l 55 One of these Nights Victim of Love In the City
Take it to the Limit. Another big hit with an even different lead singer who was incredible.
X2 for Take it to the Limit. Randy Meisner was the secret weapon in the Eagles vocal armoury.
He's also a terribly un-celebrated bassist. He never overplayed or underplayed his parts.
New kid in town from this show - hardly unknown but so good
They’re THAT good😎✌🏻
Witchy Woman is one of my favs from them

Take it Easy was also their debut single. It's one hell of a way to come out of the gate.
They came out kicking!
They are SO ICONIC! I love how you're loving them! I third the request for Take it to the Limit! Thanks
One of these Nights is a must
New kid in town is a great song 🎵 👌 🙌

Another great classic their song "I Can't Tell You Why" featuring Timothy B Schmidt. Check that out.
New Kid in Town, Desperado, Lyin' Eyes.
Witchy Woman ... there is a live version recorded on English TV during a tour of the UK. An excellent live performance of the early Eagles.
Best of my love
"The last resort" video
"Wasted Time", "The Sad Cafe", "Victim of Love", "The Last Resort", "Voyage of the Sorcerer" (instrumental), "King of Hollywood", and "In the City"
The Eagles were considered a "Super" group because Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Glen Frye were all successful solo artists. Thanks for your reaction. Love the Eagles.
So was Randy Meisner.. they were not considered that in their heyday. Sounds like a new label
I can’t tell you why. It’s like the Eagles doing Bee Gees
You need to visit Winslow Arizona. I had the time in the late 70’s. The corner mentioned in this song has been “memorialized” with all sorts of Eagles recognition👍👊😉💥
Very cool. Great trivia/story. ❤️✌️
these guys were a power band b4 they knew it

Greatest American band
Definitely true!
This song!! I was in back of my grandpa's pick up truck with my aunt singing every word. I had no idea it was a "real" song. I was ten! 😂❤✌️
It's summer and my friends and I are sitting in front yard waiting for a guy from down the street and across the tracks to come down on his horse, in his car or truck...memories
One time I was passing through Winslow, AZ and this song came on the radio. Amazing!
Surely it's on repeat there!
@@MoreMeetArthur probably... I thought it was a Flagstaff station, but who knows, it was probably 25 years ago.

@@donnakaymaltese9080 anyone who hasn't seen The Last Waltz is seriously missing out on some great music.
Finally, someone requesting the hidden gems..Thank you.... You Never Cry Like a Lover, Hollywood Waltz

The Greeks Don't Want No Freaks absolutely qualifies as a B side. Maybe even less than that! lol
There is a statue of Glen Frey, standing on a corner in Winslow Arizona.
This was their FIRST song to go near the top of the charts.
Glen Frey talks clearly about how he learned to write songs once he moved to Los Angeles. His neighbor in the basement apartment below him was Jackson Browne with a tea pot, lost of weed and hearing the same song building word by word line by line a thousand times a day. Must be a fine site to see!
Before he left the group, Bernie Leadon played banjo on the original version.
One of my favorites is Desperado

It seems that way!
This one somehow made it through, but the others didn't :(
That sounds absolutely magical though, very jealous

Another band with awesome harmonies, "Little River Band". Start with "Help is on it's way", then "The Night Owl"

I saw them many times in the early years. They used to open their shows with "Take it Easy", preceded by this: ua-cam.com/video/khZco-St61c/v-deo.html
This is s very awesome! Love the Eagles. Remember back then there was no auto tune, just pure raw talent. Love your reactions!
Unreal talent!
Thank you so much!
Those Shoes is a banger that gets forgotten
Take it to the Limit! And a much underated song Try and Love Again!!! You will need to go with the studio version. It is mesmerizing. ❤️✌️
Im gonna sub because i know that you listen to it!!
"Those Shoes" is less well known, but pretty awesome...Good journey :) Peace!

In the City
Thank you!
There, imo is no main dude!!!!!
I can’t tell you why
Fine don't 😂
I’m not sure they have any true B side songs😊
Yeah, more evidence that 1977 was one of the best years in rock. Except for Elvis ... and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
what was so funny? one of the best groups ever, playing one of their best////and you laugh your way thru it???
What?
Don Henley and Eagles are the worst at giving youtubers strikes.
Was meant to have a Hotel California reaction out before this one but it got blocked 🥲
now they lip sync screw them.
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers….them and The Eagles are the greatest American bands all time….especially Petty
