The “Not training to limits and not maxing out all the time” philosophy was my biggest take away from this video. It can be applied not only to working out but to any other field where you are trying to learn a skill.
I have a Gymnastics background and gotta say that because of you two I learned movements that I didn't know how to back then (either because of my age or because of bad coaching). Congratulations on your content, both of you.
17:41 so true, thats the reason why you, calisthenicsmovement and athlean X, for me, have been my main referents for so many years. Thank you both and congratulations for your work, passion and motivation
I have tremendous respect for these two men and their knowledge. I love love love both Of these channels and seeing this video makes me certain I’ve found solid gold. Thanks for all you do. Both Daniel and Alex are men I look up to.
Loved the honesty and total authenticity of this. Thank you guys for being humble, inspirational and willing to help and make others grow though your teachings and life experiences. Much love, really.
I like how Daniel just sits there and listens, sorta like Alex is his teacher, very humble, even tho you're both big names in the calisthenics community. There's always something that you can learn. :)
@27:00 Daniel talks about educate people so "they can do it themself, I don't want people to have to hold someone hand". That's exactly what happened to me. Long ago I bought bodybyring and I never followed the program, but never I conidered this wasted money, I was always happy I got it because of all it teached me. I also bought Calimove mobility program and the same happened, I rarely follow the plan by the dot but not a second I was disapointed with my purchase. Now I read some books on the topic, create my own routines, I seldomly watch any youtube fitness video but I'm really happy I did. FitnessFAQs and Calimove did exactly that : showed me the way and educated me to smart training.
I love this channel thanks for the video. I basically started doing calisthenics because your videos. Last month I've torn my biceps doing back lever on the gymnastic rings. I've done the surgery to repair it and the recovery is going well. After watching this video I kind of realised that I only suffer this injury because I was over training.
I'm enjoying these behind the scenes talks! Both your channels are among the best on UA-cam when it comes to bodyweight fitness and the effort you put into every video really shows and pays off! I really like the approach Alex mentioned about venturing out into different branches of fitness and healthy lifestyle in general and taking what works for you from every practice. I've been doing the same, getting information and workouts/practices from yoga, weight lifting, bodyweight fitness/calisthenics, different breathwork techniques, intermittent fasting, etc. and I combine all the things that work for me from each one into my own personal routine. Seeing great progress from this approach and your channels among a couple others have been a tremendous help in figuring things out! So thanks for your great work!
My 👵old mother would say... He sits with bad posture. 😁 And when I showed her what he does. She goes, so why doesn't use his core strength to sit up? Me: 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@mariap.894 true, having a pain free back is about moving your body in various positions, though. So the best would have been if he shifted his position during the interview. Using comfortable seats is what prevents you to listen to your body. When using uncomfortable sitting devices you automatically want to move your body, because you can't stand sitting in the same position for too long. On the other hand he surely does have the strength and mobility to allow himself being in such a bad sitting position for some time.
as I watched you're all videos , I can say FitnessFAQS and Calisthenic movements are the most reliable source for who loves and wants to do calisthenics. like you guys.
I don't think it's a big problem if you train like them. Most people with this posture is sitting too long in a day with too little exercise. That's the real problem. It becomes a bad habit.
Really insightful conversation from two of the biggest Calisthenics educators, debunking a lot of the misconceptions that social media rushes us into. There's no microwave solutions. Thank you for your amazing work!
"People dont know how to listen to their bodies", man ive been repeating so much this about fitness bands and people not being able to know when theyre tired because they are used to check the band. Great video guys

What a great video. I watched it all in one sitting, it was a pleasure to do so. I hope you guys collab again in the future. It was also nice to spot myself in the workshop footage that you showed ;)
I like the way you discussed the filming setup and philosophy behind your videos. I think that's why I kept following both of your channels. You get the necessary information across in a few minutes of explanation and good camera angles. You may be able to make the videos a little more appealing to beginners by highlighting specific muscle groups in post production. I love it, calisthenics movement and fitnessfaqs thank you for this video. I'm struggling with my diet and the worst think for me is the rest day 😂. I want to be honest, i don't know how to listen to my body. Sometimes i go hard i fell tired but i also fell like i have done nothing and i used to go every day hard but it is not good. 20:45 Fair point Daniel, but I think what you miss from both yours and CM's videos is that no one gets to really experience the authentic people behind the scenes. Sometimes people want to see the personality on show! Although granted, this video is a nice break from that and actually shows us a lot about our friend El Eggs.
Always good to watch the two channels that got so many of us into calisthenics! Amazing content.
