  • I had a request from viewer Susan for some assistance with her beautiful Singer 66 (Lotus decals). She sent me an email with an attached piece of video where she indicated she wasn't sure of the timing. Since she's on the other side of the world (NSW Australia), a phone call to resolve questions is a bit difficult. I hope this video helps...

    Fantastic video! I just bought a beautiful 1951 Singer 66-18!! I’m so excited to sew on it! It’s been serviced and it looks brand new! And came with a bunch of feet and the manuals. Feeling blessed ❤

    Awesome video, I will take another look at the timing and Needle bar height. I have a second machine that I have been using for spare parts I can have a practice with that one. My lotus decals are beautiful and I said it was made in 1935, I meant to say 1933 it’s 90 years old. Great little machine. Thank you so much for your help on this one.

    Do you keep your feathers numbered for just such occasions? Your conversation comments reminded me of Foghorn Leghorn cartoon character line.😊😊
    Thanks for the memories!🎉. Enjoyed this video!

    Hi Bob,
    Thanks for this excellent tutorial, but what if the top timing mark doesn’t line up when the needle is at its lowest point? Mine is sort of close, but not quite? How can I adjust that?

    • @BobFowlerWorkshop
      @BobFowlerWorkshop  9 місяців тому

      Move the timing gauge so it alignswith the mark. It's all relative, and the needle bar will be adjusted for height once the timing is set. The purpose of the upper mark is to get the gauge in position for the actual timing mark (lower mark).

    The top of the eye to the hook is 1/8 too deep on your machine. You should have moved it up a little bit in your movie, so people can see the distance.

    What is the procedure for adjusting the timing on a singer 115?

    • @BobFowlerWorkshop
      @BobFowlerWorkshop  Рік тому

      I don't have a 115, but when I get one, I'll do a video demonstration.

    Since 99s are related to the 66s as a 3/4 size machine, are they timed the same way?

    • @BobFowlerWorkshop
      @BobFowlerWorkshop  Рік тому +1

      Exactly, though they vary in how (or if) they have timing gauges.

      @@BobFowlerWorkshop My 99 was my mom's 1941which I learned to sew on. i don't think she has any timing issues currently, but want to be prepared if she does.
