- This shows how easy it is to change the air filter on a 2017 Moto Guzzi V7 III stone. Probably very similar with other models, if not even exact. Service manual states it should be replaced every 6K miles.
Thanks for posting this up! I've discovered from a bit of "Internet Research" that Moto Guzzi are pretty much the perfect home mechanic's motorcycle. Just about everything on the machine is easy to service and simple to repair if needed. Thanks again, Ride safe! 👍👍.
Thanks for the comment. And yes most of the maintenance is pretty simply with basic tools. The exception may be changing the fork oil.
Thanks for taking the time to make the video. I was quickly and easily able to change my filter just now with out having to break out the manual. Cheers!
Glad it helped. On the second change I replaced the aluminum screws with metal ones so my magnetic driver would not drop them into the abyss.

Great video class. Thanks for it.
nice job
Thank you Trakadas. I hope it helps some.

Much easier than my 2001. Have to remove the gas tank!!!
Hi Thadeus, Wow that sound more like by BMW K bike. A real pain in the backside.

Motto great l like motto 😍
Great thanks
Thanks Chris, I appreciate the comment. Knowing that it might help another is why one does it in the first place.
John
Thanks, it your moto?
Hi, have you done the valve adjustment for the 6,000 mile service ? How hard was it in case you did ? I also want to do more myself opposed to going to the dealer, great video!
It's dead simple. These bikes use lock nut type adjuster.
Hi Michel, no I did not do a valve adjustment. I hear no tappit noise at start up and performance and fuel consumption is good, so thought I would leave well enough alone. If you do it, perhaps you could make a short video for us.

Would this work for a motto guzzi v7 iii 2019?
The 2019 is an 850cc, but the air filter may be the same. Just look at the video and see if yours is the same. If it is or is not, please post your findings for others to use.
Great vid. By the way did u make a painting video in those clothes before this one! LOL
Not yet Steve! But you know my favorite color.

Notice any slight performance change when you switched the filter?
Hi Thomas, No I did not notice any change in performance then or now, 6k miles later. My average fuel consumption is slightly better now, but that my be from the engine just working it way in. I get about 69MPG now doing easy roads at about 60-65MPH. When new I only got around 62MPG at the same speeds.

WOW, I have the V9 bobber and I get exactly 100 miles to the full tank going about 75mph including some city traffic. The bike says the average is 45mpg but the math simply doesn't add up. Of course, I'm not stupid enough to trust Italian gauges and electronics.
When the light comes on you have 1 gallon of fuel left. Therefore, I burn 3 gallons in 100 miles = 33mpg. It has the GTM tune and Agostini exhaust without baffles. The new ECU software is supposed to make the fuel mixture more rich to protect the engine and prevent surging in hot weather.
Now the question is.....how do you get double the MPG, I don't push my engine to the limit, 75mph speed isn't exactly excessive, I weigh 210lbs and I have the side cases. The roads have some uphills, nothing crazy, maybe about 45 minutes of town riding with traffic lights, the rest of the way strictly highway. By the way, my bike has 5000 miles on the odometer, bike is already broken in and the valves adjusted at 4,000 miles and oil changes Motul synthetic 15W60 every 2,000 miles.
Please feel free to comment, I'd like to hear what you have to say.
