- This walk at Loch Awe takes in the two Munros Beinn Eunaich and Beinn a' Chochuill which was a very enjoyable straight forward loop walk with clear tops. The wind chill from the north wind was severe and a sharp reminder that winter is well on its way.
Once again Charlie, great video, smashing views, the light on Autumn landscape awesome, cheers Ian Dundee
Hi Ian, The hills are in great condition and the low light makes them pop. Just need a wee bit snow on the tops to complete things. Thanks for watching. Cheers, Charlie.
1983, yes, that's a scary thought, Charlie. I began in 1986. I was with Michael, my brother-in-law, on Iona, and he proposed Ben More, Mull, which we did first, so reversing normal practice for many. And we did this pair not too long after. Good to see them after so long. Great views. Many thabks.
Hi Geoffrey, There must be a very short list of walkers who actually start their munros with Ben More.... great stuff. The years have rolled on but you never really forget the outings you've had. Happy days. Cheers, Charlie.
Lovely morning Guys, colours superb. Thanks for the day out....stay safe.

👍🏔
Hi Dave, The hills are looking well at this time of year and combined with the low sun just makes the landscape pop. Hopefully, more to come. Cheers, Charlie.
Lovely light on this one Charlie especially at the start, the hills and cattle were glowing. 1983 feels a million years ago lol, married in 82 then on strike as a miner for the year in 84 good and bad memories. Thankfully there was always the hills. Take care. Mick.
Hi Mick, Hope you and the family are well.... The 80's was certainly an era of trouble and strife. It's alway amazing just how quick the years roll by as the age creeps up. Take care, Cheers, Charlie.
Hi Charlie, you hit on some good weather, it looked a great walk and the vista was fantastic and better still you could see one of my favourites Ben lui! You both have a great festive period! Best wishes Mark.
Hi Mark, We had hoped for some clearer skies and more snow but had a great day nonetheless. Fingers crossed we have some colder, calmer weather in the weeks ahead. ATB, Charlie.
@@charliemccartney7055 Hi Charlie, the bits of video looked perfect conditions no mist! Views were outstanding in all directions! I visited the power plant underground below Craughan (may be spelt wrong) it was impressive! My first Munro was Lomond in 1987! Back to Edinburgh next Tuesday attempting 5x of Arthur's seat, climbed it 13 times since October! On early train so be there by 11 am! Look forward to next video! Regards mark shaw.
Great video guy's that was some stunning views there
Hi Kevin, We had hoped for more sunshine but no complaints with the day. You could see for miles.... Cheers, Charlie.
Myself and my husband hike the Lake District fells, we really enjoy looking at the Scotland mountains in your films, very enjoyable to watch.👍
Hi Goprocaz, Really glad that you enjoy tagging along on our outings. We're just looking for colder conditions and a bit of snow instead of the damp grey skies. ATB, Charlie.
Many thanks for your inspirational and informative films, I really appreciate the route outlines, filming showing ascent and descent and information on other hills from your view point. Wishing you and Mike all the best of the season and a braw 2022.
Hi Libby, Great that you enjoy viewing and get inspiration to get into the outdoors. It's always intended that our movies are hopefully a resource for others to gain an appreciation of the landscape before heading out. Cheers, Charlie.
Some great views there as always. Whenever I've passed these horned highland cattle I've found it a bit unnerving. I know that they are docile by nature but I would not get between them and their young, or have a dog with me.
Lovely video again Charlie, you defo got a good day for it, and as you pointed out some lovely light. Yeh you’ve been on a fair old journey if you started back in 83, some great memories I’ll bet.
Cheers, Frank
Hi Frank, You'll know yourself, the hill experiences stay with you for ever. Great times and memories of a few characters who are no longer with us.... happy days. Cheers, Charlie.
@@charliemccartney7055 hopefully there’s loads more Charlie.🏔🏴👍
Thanks for sharing your day. That looked a cracking walk Charlie with stunning views, ben Cruachan looks stunning from that angle!
Hi Dave, Ben Cruachan was looking well. We've always had a plan to add these two onto the Cruachan ridge but it's still to happen.... maybe next year? Cheers, Charlie.
nice video guys, with cracking views, i thought there would have been a bit more snow on the top , great to see the highland cows munching away
Hi James, We were the same, all geared up for the snow. We've experienced more on our local bumps than on the high tops but I'm sure that won't last. Cheers, Charlie.
Great vid...did it in 2016 with fabulous snowy conditions.
Hi Andy, This pair are ideal for a winter experience when plastered with snow. Cheers, Charlie.
Nice one Charlie & Mike. I spent wed night in Glen Coe in the van and woke up to - 5. Knew it was gonna be a nice clear day.

Martin
Hi Martin, It certainly was cold morning with a north wind that would cut you in half. I thought the blue sky would have hung around longer but can't complain with the day we had. Cheers, Charlie.
Hi Charlie what a cracking walk on a cracking day blessed with good weather in December how do you do it super area for munros
Hi Phil, We in a position to chose the best weather day through the week, so hopefully we'll get an opportunity for a few blue sky days. Take care, Charlie.
Superb 👏👏fine day for it
Hi Barrie, It was a cracking day although the north wind would cut you in half. Looking forward to some blue sky days. Cheers, Charlie.
Smashing day Charlie.
Thanks for sharing

Tam
Hi Tam, It was great getting a clear top for a change but a wee bit surprised by the lack of snow.... maybe next week? Cheers, Charlie.
Looks like it was a cracking day 👍🏻
Hi B5 S4 Avant, It was a super day with a severe north wind. Just the thing to get us conditioned for the winter ahead. Cheers, Charlie.
Stunning day lads 😎👌 I was 4 years old in 83. Ma wife was born that year tae. 😉
I was already working with my current employer in 83, a whole different world since then.
@@alistairthow1384 Working with the same employer for an extended period seems to be something of the past these days. Oddly enough, Mike worked for a company for the whole of his working career once he completed his apprenticeship. As you say Alistair a different world now. Cheers, Charlie.
A 4 year old Kev, now I bet you were an handful...... lol. Cheers, Charlie.
@@charliemccartney7055 5 jobs in as many years then the long haul with current ones.
@@alistairthow1384 long may the work continue for the time you require it...
38 years and still going strong! I was 12 then and too busy with scalextric I think! No walking for me for two weeks Charlie! Hurted my back! You ever dealt with a back injury over those 38 years?
Paul
Hi Paul, I thought there must have been something up with the lack of uploads. Sorry to hear about your back, generally means an extended recover period to let things heal. It's frustrating being off the hills but they would soon find things out if you return too quickly. Never had any back problems but my knees need managed now just to keep things ticking alone. Take care, Charlie.
@@charliemccartney7055 Thanks Charlie. I guess its inevitable that you pick up injuries along the way. just need to spend my time planning next years walks! hoping to get to at least half way but would like to get to number 182! fingers crossed. Thanks again. Paul.
@@PAADVENTURES1 The trick is giving yourself enough time to make sure the injury is healed but at least your not missing too much due to the crap weather. The Munros just get a bit harder the further you go into the total as it invariable means more travelling just to get to them... all good fun. Cheers, Charlie.
Just found your channel and looked through some of your videos. Loved them! Actually not very different from the western parts of Norway.
The Scottish accent is a little bit challenging to a foreigner, but also very charming.
Maybe a silly question, but do you ever get a chance to try cross-country skies in Scotland?
Hi Beowulf, Many thanks for taking a look around the channel. I tinkered with cross country skiing a few years ago but found the snow conditions quite inconsistent in Scotland for an enjoyable experience so I stuck with walking. Occasionally we get a prolonged spell of sub zero temperatures but now these periods are few and far between. Cheers, Charlie.
@@charliemccartney7055 We see the same thing here too. The really cold periods are shorter and more far between, and the winters are milder and wetter than they used to be. Walking is good, as long as the snow isn't too deep and heavy.
Looking forward to more of your videos, I found them very interesting. I understand that so-called wild camping is legal in Scotland, that makes it tempting to visit your part of the UK some day.
Enjoyable as always Charlie. I was on beinn dearg (tilt) the following day and had much more snow. Think the east has had more. Must have fond memories going back to where it began. How many times have you done those pair then? Atb gordon
Hi Gordon, This was my 6th visit to this pair and I think I've covered all conditions and seasons. It's looking like a good snow covering for the hills over the next few days and not many areas escaping without a covering...happy days. Cheers, Charlie.
@@charliemccartney7055 indeed. If you can get out!! Enjoy
👏
Hi Lemond Head, Many thanks for taking the time to view our latest outing. ATB, Charlie.
I blocked the go vegan folk on Instagram 😂
Hi zunkwind, That's the first time we've found anything like that at height. They are certainly dedicated to the cause... Many thanks for watching. Cheers, Charlie.
