The new build I don't wanna sell because it was my buddy jesse who I known since he was 6 he was more my brother than friend. And when he passed away my buddy casey just paid it off before he passed and now I have it. I wanna make it stupid fast and really nice. That was his goal with it.. I miss that civic though it was a pile or turd when I got it..

I remember first seeing your channel when you did the Ebay parts review. And boy through my experience I couldn't disagree more. Few years later run by your channel again and 1) I like how you're still youtubing, 2) this build is pretty decent, love that header, the whale dick intake, the fact you started getting somewhat more quality parts like the hondata s300 and aem wideband (personally though I think the aem wideband is junk) but nice to see you're doing better quality builds

I missed the compression ratio. I put in the jdm hicompression in a D16Y7. I Compression tested it. Had 180psi 160, 155 150. I think my heads need rebuilding. I will be pulling the heads soon. So is a tune recommeded after the compression increase? It is knocking on regular fuel. Haha upgrade to premium 93 octane. Lots to do thanks.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen a d16 go over 500hp everyone says the single cams just don’t cut it. I got a d16y8 that I’m working on and all the comments leave me really discouraged to build it all saying I should swap don a k or b series instead cause the d series are the economy engine and useless to build on
Nicholas howes Don’t be discouraged everyone hates the single cams but I don’t. They have 9 second D series so that 500whp b/s people spit is a lie for sure. They have s 800hp d look more into it. This D didn’t have much tuning into it when I owned it. I have seen a 210whp d16 in a crx run 10s but it was in a light car. Google search more on the D builds
HEy I found a D16b5 CNG engine for cheap. Would now like to build my Y8 head on the block. This would give me a 12.5:1 compression ratio. From your experience.... Is this too much should I run a thicker head gasket? With the stock y8 ECU it will probably be critical and knock..
Kaiser I cleaned it yesterday lmfao. My car is parked in a alley and Kansas is full of strong wind. It bugs me but I don’t have the time to wipe my dash 2 times a day lol. That’s with the windows up even. I’m a busy dad/mechanic but I detail the car often lol

Francisco Villalba very nice! I keep mine around 12.8-13.3 anywhere in that range is where all motor should be. If it dips into the high 11 just select that one box and subtract -1 % of fuel and if that don’t help then try advancing the timing in the 1 spot: but do fuel first. I have my ignition tables dialed back some and it’s still quick. But when you data log make sure your wideband signal is close to the same as what ur gauge reads and then hit record. I might make a video showing a bit of how I tune. I’m not expert but I know a little
Sorry forgot the low rpm range. When cruising data log it and see what the air fuel ratio is at. Basically you want around 13.8-14.9 in that range. If it dips into 15 it will be fine as long as your not full throttle with them numbers. From 13.3 a12 it’s ideal for these setups. But make it a smooth gradual flow. Hard to explain without actually getting a video done. I think ima do a video
Would a stage 1 clutch cut it with this build, I’m going for a very similar build for my z6 with the exception that I would only have a stage 1 cam with oem valves
Carlos Frias stage one will work but I had a stage 2 clutch and it couldn't hold up well. I went with 6 puck stage 3 in the end because it held more tq
Hey man, are you running this on 95 octane and what's the compression ratio? I have a d16a block a vtec p08 head with p29 pistons and a bigger cam but was told its pinging and compression is too high so Ethanol is needed but I want it for economical daily use so that's not an option in South Africa
Fernando Garcia I believe it was 13:2:1 or something close to that. Ran amazing but needed more tuning done. It was on a street tune that was remote tuned.

I have a 2005 civic I bought that when a company was hired to replace the engine with a low milage pull out messed up and put in one from a CNG Civic... It runs good but code reader shows Knock Sensor failure. From what I understand the it has a 12 to 1 compression ratio and a specially reinforced lower end, do you think this would be a good block for someone wanting to build a racing engine?

Seems like my ej8 coupe gets to 75 quicker... And is an automatic 😁 Bone stock engine with a new mls head gasket n new timing belt and w pump. B&M synthetic transmission fluid, Accel super coil 11076, NGK blue wires, E3 spark plugs and K&N panel filter, Yellow top optima battery.
robert latour my h23a with b16 trans made 217whp/175tq with a euro r on 93 all bone stock.. idk why some ppl would build a d16 n/a just to barely make 200whp
