  • reviewing the honda rebel 1100 for 2023, the honda cmx 1100 rebel is a very good value bike, but being the cheapest or best value, is it actually worth the money?

The stock tires are like a lottery... mine were great, but many were bad. All the wobbly feelings at high speed are poor stock tires some people get. Getting some good tires and that thing is rock solid at top speed.

I had my Dunlop changed to Metzeler Cruise Control, and the bike feels like new!!! No wobbling!

I suggest checking the wheel balance and alignment before buying new tires.

The reviewer discusses their first impressions of the bike, including its power, handling, and features. They mention that the bike has a lot of power, but notes that it can feel a bit wobbly at high speeds. They also discuss the different riding modes, including Rain, Standard, and Sport, and note that the Sport mode is the most aggressive.
The reviewer also mentions some drawbacks, such as the bike's tendency to jerk or kangaroo when accelerating, and notes that the exhaust note is not particularly impressive. They also mention that the bike's seat is comfortable, but notes that the tailbone takes more pressure than the bum bones.
Additionally, the reviewer notes that the bike's front wheel is quite big, and that the radiator and exhaust are not particularly well-integrated into the design. They also mention that the horn is located next to the indicator, which can be annoying.
Overall, the reviewer seems to be generally positive about the bike, but notes that it has some quirks and areas for improvement. They mention that the bike is a good value for the price, but notes that it may not be the most stylish or special bike on the market.

A few mods, and it is a FAR better bike.
I have the DCT model 2021. If you install a Dyno-Jet power commander 6 on there, it eliminates the twitchy throttle and increases engine balance and power delivery. Worth every penny.
Plus (for me anyway) a nice Corbin seat, some 14" bars, Metzler Cruisetech tires, and viola, the bike is darn near perfect.
I live in Florida and ride almost every day, and I couldn't be happier with Honda's price, reliability, and overall performance.
The only things left is some nice bags and I'm done.

Euro regs make it hard work for any manufacturer to make a good sounding bike but the cost difference between this bike and a Harley nightser you've got plenty of money to spend on it

Hi man, stock tires are usually bad. I was lucky with good ones. Change user mode to Power -full, Eb1/3, Traction1/3 and dct 2/3 and those anoying throtle should ne gone. But try to set It by yourself, Maybe for you other combination will work….
I have changed Stock Seat , Stock one was shit….

When I decided to ride again a few years ago I was tempted by the Rebel 500 to get back on the road as it looked light, cool, and fun. Then they announced the 1100 and it sounded exciting with the Africa Twin engine and the possibility of the automatic gearbox. Can't help but feel disappointed by it. Next version needs a TFT dash.

I think the 500 with some saddle bags would be an economical win.

Salut, pour les oscillations à haute vitesse c'est à cause des pneus d'origine. En les changeant les oscillations disparaissent 😉

I enjoyed the review but feel disappointed in the bike with what appear to be transmission problems. I would be interested to know what the Honda guys have to say about those problems. I am assuming that you have to adjust the ride settings or perhaps this bike would be a better setup with the dual clutch transmission. I am actually considering purchasing one of these but now have my doubts.

You keep complaining about sport mode. It's literally "sport" mode.. it's supposed to be full power *and engine braking to help with full throttle then brake for turn and full throttle. It's not supposed to be smooth. It's for sport riding. If you want strong throttle and smooth when coming off the throttle use the user setting and have no engine braking with full power.

    • @midlife-crysis
      @midlife-crysis  11 місяців тому +1

yet on a cb1000r, i can be in full sports mode all day and commute through traffic and nice and slow around round abouts with no problems what so ever.

@@midlife-crysis the bike is automatic. It's made for people who may not have the capability of riding normally. Disability ect. It's made to be a 1 hand bike. Throttle up to go let off to brake. It's the only one in it's class. I know due to my own physical limitations. Comparing a bike made for just such people to a full clutch normal operation bike isn't a comparison worth making. Operate the bike with the perception it's for those who maybe relying on just the throttle to both speed up and down. With minimal braking.

@@midlife-crysis it's the sole reason I bought the 1100 auto. Low seat, burly look and 1 hand operation for the most part. I think the target market isn't lazy able body riders. It's those who need the help. Those who dont use the user setting or reprogram. I think it's set that way for a reason. Target market are those who need it but don't want a tripod ride.
