I have the DCT (black) Rebel 1100 on order. Why? I wanted a good starter bike that would also be a good forever bike. I'm a little worried that I won't like the size, since I'm 6'2", 240 lbs. However, I've seen a couple of UA-camrs that LOVE the bike and are 6'3", so there's hope. Love the MAGA Bear!
I just got the DCT version, for a beginner like me, it is perfect and got me over my fears of dropping it (as I did with my other bike in the beginner course).
Us machomen gotta stick together 💪 Awesome machine you have there! Especially for a beginner bike. The Rebel 1100 DCT blew away my expectations. I firmly believe this bike could have been my first and last bike!
I’d encourage you to find a manual bike that works for you. I could never ride a automatic bike. I love the extra control that manuals offer. It’s different strokes for different folks though. Ride what makes you happiest.
Excellent review from an experienced American rider. I am getting this machine early next year for sure. Hopefully I can keep my Rebel 500 and park them side by side. I can’t wait for the extra power( which I desperately need) and the DCT is just an awesome addition. I had no idea Honda was coming out with this thing, or I would have saved my nickels father back! Thanks for the awesome review.

Great video and review, thanks!

I ride DCT Honda since 2014 and I find it amusing how many people still don't understand it, and making "surprise reviews" of something that the most advanced riders already enjoy for a decade! But I do appreciate the reviews a lot, let other fellow bikers know what they're missing out.
I'm glad they're finally gaining traction in the USA! I've seen quite a few Goldwing DCT's in the area lately. Id love to test ride the Africa Dct or Goldwing dct if i had the opportunity
On a side note, around 11:00 that's the most asphalt crack filling I've ever witnessed lol. A good thing though of course with the amount of attention the road is receiving 👍 Sweet bike man, I'm finally gaining the confidence to ride now that a cruiser can look so badass and also be automatic, best of both worlds 🤘
I just bought it a couple of weeks ago. I love it. I’ve been riding all my life and I’m now 54. It’s comfortable and I love that even with 1100, the weight low enough that makes the bike very light. The auto trannie and the cruise control makes this old lady happy to be lazy.
Couldn't have said it any better! I was skeptical of having an automatic motorcycle, but after trying the DCT I'm amazed at how well the bike behaves. Gives me enough feel and control to make even this purist happy! Glad you enjoy your 1100 👍 have a good one and ride safe out there!
Great review! I have been riding for 56 years, lol! I am currently 63 and ride a CTX 1300 Deluxe. The bike is, I think, 740lbs., a bit tough to move around in parking lots (especially packed with gear and riding two up), but once you get moving, the bike handles nicely. I have a small frame at 5' 8", so I am thinking about getting something a little bit smaller and easier to push around. The Rebel 1100T looks really easy to, not only move around but to ride. It just might be hard for me to give up my clutch, lol! I know there is a lot of controversy about the DCT from long-time riders like me, but, I may just have to give it a try!
@@NicePantsLance Thanks, I might just go test drive one and see how it feels. How about comfort, does it take the bumps okay? I noticed that there is a seat upgrade from the dealer too.
The suspension on the Rebel 1100 isnt too bad if you adjust it properly. Needs a seat change though. If you're 6'+ tall and 250+ lbs like i am, I'd recommend Stiletto Shocks, Mustang Seat, and possibly the forward controls. If you're more medium sized, a simple adjustment will do to feel comfortable. Unfortunately cause its a compact 500lb cruiser, it'll never handle pot-holes very well. Larger heavier bikes soak up bumps better 👌
Nice review! I think sir that you have sold me. I rode a Honda 450A (automatic) for years. Handling was lack luster, but it was great for point to point transportation.
Driving motorcycles with clutch for many years. Just sold my Harley Ultra due to left hand and foot issues and picked up a cmx1100 DCT which allows me to continue riding. I much prefer a manual clutch for low speed manuvering and cornering. You need to practice show speed moves with a DCT or you likely dump the bike at some point. Also I run in manual mode to allow me to pick the RPM for shifts and turns. This bike is an absolute riot to drive and like just about everything about it.
Have you considered EFM auto clutch? you don’t have to use the clutch. It fits on any bike, you still have to shift gears with your foot but there’s no need to use a clutch and it won’t stall. Just curious what your thoughts are on the auto clutch because I can’t decide between that or just getting a DCT
I love my new Honda Rebel 1100 DCT! I rode a CBR before my first son ten years ago and haven’t rode since. I have rode 3 times now and have picked it up so quickly! Great for women riders. I got mine to ride with my husband who rides a Goldwing. I highly recommend for women who want to ride but fear shifting. Love love!
Thats fantastic! Great to hear the Rebel has given you a great riding experience 🤘 i bet your husband is happy now that he has a riding buddy 😁 thanks for watching!!
I’ve been looking at the Honda rebel for years now and just found out they have a DCT engine?? Man, I really hope I can get my hands on this. I want to start riding so bad!
Rock on, thanks Lance! My wife has been eyeballing a bike of her own, though she LOVES riding on the back of our Goldwing, and has been keen on a smaller, low-slung cruiser and the Rebel caught her eye. She wants a bike that has enough power to ride highway with me (bye bye Rebel 500 and Shadow 750) and the cruise makes the bike that much more of a value proposition to her. Great review man, thanks! Also, about that wimpy horn, swap it out for a Goldwing horn and be prepared to scare the 💩 out of people 🤣. First time I honked my bike it even scared me (happened when I honked at a neighbor when passing his house), neighbor texted me and said “holy crap, your bike’s horn is louder than my Subaru’s horn!” 🤣 When you’re on it, it sounds strangely similar to a train horn.
I LOVE those new Goldwings!! Ive been compelled to test one out ever since i rode the Rebel 1100. Your wife will love it! Thanks for watching 🤘 ride safe out there brother
@Nice Pants Lance It’s literally everything you could ever want in a motorcycle. Like a distillation of all of my cruiser and sportbike ownership of everything I wanted and nothing I didn’t. Handles WAAAYY lighter than it is. I’ve scrubbed the tires down to the edges without concern and it will wheelie with the best of em though I’ve only done it once. I’ve got the non-tour and my ONLY gripe is I wish they would have put the reverse gear on it too (it’s only on the tour models). I’m VERY cognizant of angles when I park and only park level or nose up. I’m 5’6” so I don’t get as much grip to back up as a taller rider such as yourself would be able to when backing. You ride safe too! Thanks
When you have dodgy joints the DCT is a godsend, I could not manage a manual due to arthritis in my hips and knees but can ride a DCT so I have the Honda 700s and now can join the cruiser class with the Rebel1100 and due to a tracker fitted costs me less to insure than the 700S even with the subscription, so I am also getting the new 2022 cub for those quick trips when the Rebel is just " not right " for the task like a mile down a rutted dirt track for a sail on the lake, before anyone says it I could not even get my leg over the Africa Twin, being only 5'5" with 29"inside leg the bike was just too tall hence the 700S and not X .
Just use low throttle input! Same as with a manual transmission, except the DCT handles clutch modulation for you. Just use low throttle input and trust the bike. Itll allow you to maintain a crawling speed to do u-turns
I think most beginners should start with less than 70 horsepower because it is much less likely to accidentally lift the front wheel with bad throttle and clutch control, however this 1100 Rebel might be good for a heavier and shorter beginner, especially since they can learn to throttle, steer and brake first, then for their second bike maybe add clutch and shift levers to learn to use. The frame and weight distribution should keep the front wheel on the pavement. Still, less weight is better for a beginner, if you accidentally go into a corner too fast for your skills, a lighter bike will be easier to not crash.
I 100% agree 👍 to be honest, if this bike had a clutch I wouldn't recommend it for a beginner at all! The DCT transmission makes it so easy to control! I found myself having to turn off a bunch of settings just to get some action lol thanks for watching! Cheers 🍻
The 1100 is my beginner bike, the dct, and after 2000 miles in less than 2 months, its the best thing ever. Very comfortable on it, leaning it easily, flying down the highway.
Lol i very rarely rev my vehicle at a stop anyways 😂 I'd certainly never rev an automatic car at a light. I guess when you're new anything can happen though! Im currently teaching my friend to ride, and he keeps forgetting to pull in the clutch when he shifts into 1st lol 😆
After having had it for a good eight months now, have you got used to the cramped accommodation? I am also 6', with a 32'' inside leg and am thinking of buying one of these bikes with DCT. A solution could be to get the seat built up a couple of inches. That would create more space. I also like the idea of using manual mode occasionally. A quick-shifter on the handlebar, effectively. Informative review. Just what I wanted to see.
To be honest with you, the bike is still too cramped for me. I currently ride a Triumph Speed Twin which is light in weight, but really tall. Fits me perfectly
You will love it coming from a scooter! This is such a fantastic machine, sometimes I forget its a cruiser! Acts like a sport bike 😁 thanks for watching!
I'm not an ape hanger kinda guy, but id suggest a short rise so you can still have sporty control over the bike. A 10" rise at most. Thats just my opinion though lol
EFM auto clutch vs DCT? I’m not sure which one to go with, any advice would be appreciated. Benefit to the EFM auto clutch is it fits on any bike and gives the benefits of DCT (no stalling) but you still have to shift gears with your foot which I don’t mind.
Looks like this could be the bike for me. I recently took a riding class and using the clutch and shifting while trying to pay attention to the road and the other stuff was just too much for me. I just want it twist and go, brake and stop.
The purpose of a DCT transmission is the capability to perform shifts faster than a conventional transmission, the true test of a DCT is to set it in manual mode and use the paddle shifters. A automatic transmission uses a torque converter, which is the slowest at shifting. A manual even the best racers cannot shift as fast as a DCT. With that said the DCT computer on the Rebel 1100 in my opinion is not the most sophisticated at picking shift points, compared to a few European cars I have tried, but a $100,000 car should be quite better. I love the manual mode in the twisties. Put it back to computer control when in traffic. Just my take
@Nice Pants Lance you think I'd be flat footed? I need to be flat foot sitting on it.. I guess i gotta fins one down here and sit on it..and see how it feels
No what sucks is people shifting manually, when compared to the silky smooth, extremely refined 7th generation DCT Honda. Its brilliant. After 40 years of riding, I’m sold.
I sure like my Honda Rebel 1100 DCT. Wow! Its a dream! Runs great, feels great, sounds great, is great. I dont think its a bike for any “beginner”(to powerful n to heavy). I find the trans to perform and everything I want it to do its does it and on time. Sure has power and torque! The suspension adjusts to what you want. Friction zone-still have it via throttle n rear brake. This recording (no recording) does not do the real sound justice and it has a good throaty sound. If you purchase one you must be very careful at first as if you are like me you are used to the clutch (especially in parking-i put in neutral). Modes just fine and are easy. Its great. I for one will probably change footrests to more forward. One thing-if you like to do rev bombs you cant do that on this bag. Unless you put it in neutral n you cant do that while running along.
Hey! i have ZERO bike experience And ZERO Manual experience (car wise) other bikers tell me to HAVE to learn manual to have fun and enjoy bike riding would u recommend this bike or should i get a traditional bike ? Great Video Btw
The video author didn't say anything but for recommendations I'd say learn to ride on a manual, preferably at a safety course, then buy a DCT or CVT bike and ride that. Many beginner courses will provide you a bike, and I can assure you it will be manual. You should at least know how to work a manual transmission because nearly every motorcycle is, but for daily use I don't see any reason to use a manual if you don't like shifting.
Sorry for the late reply, I must have forgot to press enter! But yes, he's right. You don't NEED to learn a manual, but it would make you way more proficient at riding, and you could also ride any bike you want to try. Eventually shifting manually would be second nature and you may even prefer it over a DCT! If you are firm about not wanting to learn shifting, the DCT is a great option. The transmission is smooth as butter and is very easy and intuitive to ride. If you are thinking of a DCT only because you haven't learned manual shifting yet, I would steer clear and learn on a regular bike 👍
Great demonstration, thank you. Very motivational too. I am 182 cm, which compares to 6 feet as far as I know. You mentioned that you felt a bit cramped. Would you consider this a problem? My own size in comparison with the seat height of this bike is holding me back for now to make a purchase. I do not want to look to bulky. And in some other videos people are mentioning some troubles during downshift with the DCT, in which the tiiming does not feel right somewhere near the second gear. Did you notice any of that. I would appreciate it if someone can help me out here.
I wouldn't consider it a problem at all! Fitting on a small cruiser is a matter of preference really. You'll have perfect control over the bike, but being a larger guy means you'll look big on the bike and wont have much room. To be honest, i didnt do much low speed stuff in DCT mode so im not sure about the 2nd gear thing. If control over the DCT is a point of concern for you, its definitely worth it to learn how to shift a manual bike. You wont have to worry about improper shifting cause you'll be doing it
I got this as my first bike. Only experience on a bike was the msf course i completed 5 months ago. And i can easly say if you throw this in rain mode and you did well on the course this bike will be a breeze. Just have patience tho because it does have power behind it
You are not too heavy for this bike! You'd be able to ride it no problem, but im not sure if you'd feel comfortable on it. I'm 6'0" 220lbs and I felt a little big on it. Fit just fine still
Point your GoPro up a bit more. We'd rather watch the road in front of you as you ride than at the instrument panel. Thanks for the review. I really, really want one of these bikes, but I want a clutch, lol.
I have this exact model. The biggest failing imo is the seat. After ~450 miles this thing is killing my tailbone -- even with suspension adjustments. Ordered a Mustang. We'll see how that goes. DCT is great. I occasionally use the paddles to adjust the gear the DCT has picked for me, so it's not perfect, but it's also not wired to my brain, so it's never going to be. The DCT is pretty cool and I enjoy it. This is my first bike. The bike definitely has the potential to get you in trouble, but if you're a reasonable adult it won't. If you lower the power output (ie: rain mode), 1st gear is very gradual. I was actually surprised how easy it is to do slow speed maneuvering with just a throttle.
how is the suspension on the bike? Especially the rear? Do you feel a jolt thru your lower back every time you hit a bump on the highway? I had a CTX700 and got rid of it because there was not much rear wheel travel.
The Rebel 1100 is more comfortable, because of its cruiser ergonomics. It also feels more "fluid", where as the Speed Twin feels more "raw". The display on the Rebel is more modern, where the Speed Twin was fitted with classic gages on purpose. Other than those benefits, the Speed Twin is superior in every way. Engine character feels more alive. Has more power and torque. Brakes way harder. Handles better and sharper. Easier to maneuver. Easier to work on in my opinion. The Speed Twin also feels more "quality". Then again, im a Triumph fan so im biased. Both are great bikes 👍 one just performs better
You could ride it without any trouble, but you would feel too big on it and possibly wouldn't be comfortable. I'm 6'0" and 220lbs Thanks for watching 🤘
I'm actually looking at the 1100 not sure manual or Dct yet but I want a lighter bike . I'm 5'6 165lbs with a 30.5 inseam and it fits perfectly. I ride a 2007 heratige softail classic right now.
You will love the Rebel! Although, you may miss the size and touring ability of the softail. The Rebel is not the best long distance machine. The DCT is a good option if shifting becomes a problem. Although id only get the DCT if i absolutely had to. Thanks for watching
Hello, very nice reviews they are very good ,keep it up. I have a question for you ,I am planning to buy a motorcycle but I am not deciding between the Indian scouts bobber sixty or Honda Rebel 1100, could you help me a bit with this? Could you recommend one? Thanks in advance !!!!
Very good choices! Are you a big guy? How tall are you? Also, which do you prefer. performance? Or comfort and style? If you want a lighter, more nimble, sporty ride...go for the Rebel. If you're a bigger guy that likes cruiser style bikes and the Indian style, go for the indian. The Indian is a slightly larger bike compared to the Rebel, so you might be more comfortable on that bike. Thank you for watching! 🤘
I have 2 Honda 6 speed all facion clutch, love them but now i got me self, a Rebell1100 dct and boy i ca not stop rising the thing, put it on cruise down the panhandle and boy i only stop for gas, the seat had to go.
me being 4'9 (yess im really short i know) I am looking at this bike since i passed my msf course i do not really like the clutch. I was going to go with the rebel 500 but my left hand is not that strong. Do you think i would be too small for this bike? I plan on going to a dealership this weekend to sit on one.
You're not short, people only grow until they're perfect. You just didn't take as long as others 😁 So to answer your question, the Rebel 500's seat is approximately 27" off the ground, but I know people with 25" inseams that fit just fine 👍 if you're short-legged, you might want to sit on one just to double check. DCT is ideal if you're worried about clutch hand strength 💪
I love the 1100 DCT, but I cannot really stand automatic mode, it sometimes just doesn't shift like I'd want, then I had times it would fight me upshifting and I down shift and then it upshifts again and I downshift... so annoying... I use manual mode only, and its fantastic.
@@NicePantsLance I was curious to see what you thought about it. The rebel 1100 is my first bike ever and I did get the DCT. I’ve never ridden anything else so I wasn’t sure if the engine braking was too strong or if it was normal. Thank you for insight.
I believe you can adjust how much engine braking you experience in the menu! Still lots of braking power despite only having a single disk brake up front 👍 ride safe out there!!
@@andresvanegas8398 I have the engine braking at minimum in user mode and that is the most similar to my experience on a Harley. Above that the engine braking is very strong.
You would still fit and be able to ride it comfortably, but yes you would look big on it. I'm 6'0" 220lbs with a 32 inch inseam, and I look big on it. The ergonomics are comfortable enough, but it feels like a small bike underneath me. I hope this answers your question!! Thanks for watching 🤘
You'll be very happy with this bike! This one has a ton of power compared to the 500. Definitely enough power and performance to grow into as a beginner, and enough to keep an experienced rider happy! Ride safe out there 🤘
I'm about to pull the trigger on one of these but no way in hell will I get the automatic, changing gears is half the fun! I drive a stick shift car as well. These definitely have a place for senior citizens or someone with a disability like an amputee missing a leg or for an able bodied lazy person. The automatic bike can keep them riding forever making this automatic transmission technology a life saver for some folks.
Honda CMX1100 DCT weighs 509 pounds. Honda CRF1100L DCT (Africa Twin) weighs 524 pounds. Both stats according to Official Honda sites. Accuracy is your friend !
i heard those Hysong bikes are horrible. If you did any reviews on those I need to go back and watch it because I almost got the 250r they had out until finding out how unreliable they were. Everyone loves them at first. Those things are so bad they haven't updated their company website since 2019 last time I checked.
I haven't ridden one personally but the Aquila Pro is rated to 70hp which beats the Vulcan S for most powerful 650 class cruiser! I'd love to test one out. Not sure if I'd ever own one lol
@@NicePantsLance My last bike, super bike was a 1983 Honda CB1100F, inline 4 air cooled, 4 carbs, needles on the gauges, 108 HP/ 550 pounds = about 1 HP for every 5 pounds of motorcycle
A just wish they made a bigger version of this bike. Like a 4 inch longer wheelbase. I’m 6’2 230lbs and I completely know what you mean when you say you feel like a bear on a bicycle. My budget is 17k so as much as I love everything this bike has to offer I’m probably going to take a look at the Harley Sportster S it’s very similar in features but it’s a slightly longer wheelbase with controls in the forward position which is a bit more tall guy friendly. But this Rebel 1100 has gotta be the best bang or the buck on the market. Although it having an electronically limited hundred miles per hour top speed does kind of bother me not that you’ll be going that fast often or ever it’s just kind of like what the heck because you know that engine is capable of far more. 120 would have been a lot better.
Right?! I totally agree with everything you said. Honestly I'm curious to try a Sportster S myself! The motorcycle market isn't very big-man friendly lol if you test ride that sportster, let me know what you think of it!! Thanks for watching 🤘
I've done scooters, and still have one... but the DCT is sooo much better for a bike than a CVT... Never rode a scooter that could come close to this thing.
Slow speed, start, unpredictible, evry time difrent behavior, only one solutions, rear breake on left hand, many people have crash with africa dct, when start and right leg on the ground.
@@NicePantsLance agreed two brothers and the gp shorty best sounds big growl imo might be more out now.....I cannot wait to get my first bike next year after my surgery and what not
I didn't mind them cause they look just like the pegs on my Speed Twin. However, my Speed Twin is almost a sport bike lol this cruiser should have more comfortable pegs
Oh no!! What am i going to do if you wont watch my video 😭 please come back!! Look dude, this isnt an airport. You dont need to announce your departure. Be a grown ass adult and choose what you want to watch. Not interested? Feel free to move on. Be an adult

The bike is, I think, 740lbs., a bit tough to move around in parking lots (especially packed with gear and riding two up), but once you get moving, the bike handles nicely. It just might be hard for me to give up my clutch, lol! I know there is a lot of controversy about the DCT from long-time riders like me, but, I may just have to give it a try!
I believe they make the Rebel 1100 with the standard manual transmission still! Thanks for watching 🤘
For a mortgage picking mine up this week, can't wait. Great video by the way
Congrats!! Enjoy the ride 🤘 thank you for watching
Nice review! I think sir that you have sold me. I rode a Honda 450A (automatic) for years. Handling was lack luster, but it was great for point to point transportation.
This is definitely an upgrade from the 450a 🤘 i hope you enjoy the 1100!
Another great video! Congrats on 1K!!
Thanks bro 🤘 couldn't have done it without ya!
Well said! Ride safe out there 👍
Have you considered EFM auto clutch? you don’t have to use the clutch. It fits on any bike, you still have to shift gears with your foot but there’s no need to use a clutch and it won’t stall. Just curious what your thoughts are on the auto clutch because I can’t decide between that or just getting a DCT
That was very informative! It can be tricky switching from manual to auto but you made it look easy. Congratulations on your subscriptions!
Thank you! My channel is fully monetized now
over 1000 subs! awesome man and what a bike to be showing off when you hit it. Im interested in this bike with the dct for my better half.
Thanks bro 🤘 she will definitely love it!
Love my 19' GL1800 w/DCT this may be my next toy-great review amigo
Thanks brother!! I'm a little jealous. Those Goldwings have been on my list for a while. I'll gonna test ride one next season for sure!!
I have a 2023 dct wing. And i love it. Especially in the city
I love that 6-cylinder engine! Maybe one day I'll test ride a new Goldwing
I’ve been looking at the Honda rebel for years now and just found out they have a DCT engine?? Man, I really hope I can get my hands on this. I want to start riding so bad!
The DCT is a perfect option for a beginner!! Even an experienced rider would be happy with this bike. Lots of power, performance, and features
Thanks
Man I can't wait to get this bike this summer
Great choice in bikes! 👍 ride safe and have a blast
I am a beginner and i have damaged motor nerves in my hands . Now I can ride with my brother I can't wait .
This is a perfect bike for you!! I hope you and your brother enjoy riding 🤘
I agree!! Honda certainly had an amazing line of bikes that can suit many people. It's awesome you enjoy the DCT. Thanks for watching 🤘
A question that bothers me, how do you make a U-turn or a sharp turn while driving slowly?
Just use low throttle input! Same as with a manual transmission, except the DCT handles clutch modulation for you. Just use low throttle input and trust the bike. Itll allow you to maintain a crawling speed to do u-turns
Thanks NPL. Great job. Good info. God bless. Happy trails.
Thanks for watching!! 🤘 cheers 🍺
Thanks for a great honest review👍
Thanks for watching 🤘
That part in the video where he was going over black snakes scares the crap out of me
The roads around here arent the best lol thanks for watching 🤘
When your at a light and you rev it not remembering its an automatic? lol how quick will you slam into whatever is in front of you?
There are several extended control kits available that will move the pegs and rear brake pedal forward 5 to 6 inches.
Wow. I didn't know these existed. I've a scooter and what's not to like. Best of both worlds. I'm gonna get one.
You will love it coming from a scooter! This is such a fantastic machine, sometimes I forget its a cruiser! Acts like a sport bike 😁 thanks for watching!
wondering if you can put it in neutral on the fly to rev out and than on drive again to continue?
Yes you can! Although im not sure if thats good for the bike lol coasting in neutral at speed isnt the best idea
Any recommendation on a ape hangers ???? 14- inch or 16 ??? Thanks
I'm not gonna lie, I've never even heard of the EFM auto! I dont have much advice to give unfortunately 😵💫
Excellent, well explained review!
Thank you!! 🤘
How does dct Rev at stop lights.. can you lock it in neutral with thumb shifters?
Yes just one button push into Neutral and you can rev it! I've heard stories of people trying to rev it in Drive mode on accident and its not good 😅
Looks like this could be the bike for me. I recently took a riding class and using the clutch and shifting while trying to pay attention to the road and the other stuff was just too much for me. I just want it twist and go, brake and stop.
This is definitely the bike for you! The transmission was very confidence inspiring 👍
can you change auto manual while riding instead of stopping?
Im not 100% certain, but im pretty sure you can!! 👍
@@NicePantsLance yes i was able
Good to know!!
in manual mode, do u have to pull off throttle when you shift gears?
Nope! The bike is meant to shift with throttle applied
Just my take
Well said!
I wish they’d release a 750cc version of this. Like the engines used on ADV 750 and NC750x. 1100cc is way too overkill where I live.
I feel sorry for you! Where i live, 1100cc is too small!
Might want to look at a Honda Shadow 750 or a VStar 650
What you say how would it fit for a 5'6 190 lbs?
This would be a great bike for you! I felt only a little cramped on it, and I'm 6'0" and 250lbs. It would fit you like a glove
@Nice Pants Lance you think I'd be flat footed? I need to be flat foot sitting on it.. I guess i gotta fins one down here and sit on it..and see how it feels
Oh absolutely. This bike is extremely low
With regards to the horn, it's kinda funny because my Honda Monkey 125 has a really beefy horn. A lot of power and a deeper tone 😂
My Rocket 3 Roadster had a wimpy horn like this too 🤣 definitely not a fitting sound for the bike!
No what sucks is people shifting manually, when compared to the silky smooth, extremely refined 7th generation DCT Honda. Its brilliant. After 40 years of riding, I’m sold.
Honda has done a fantastic job with their DCT over the years 🤘
I sure like my Honda Rebel 1100 DCT.
You wont have to worry about improper shifting cause you'll be doing it
Love that triumph on the other side.
Thanks that's my Triumph Speed Twin!! If you wanna see more of it, check out my other videos! 🤘
As a 68 year old new rider I think this bike would be perfect.
It absolutely would! Super easy to manage and has everything you could want in a bike
I got this as my first bike. Only experience on a bike was the msf course i completed 5 months ago. And i can easly say if you throw this in rain mode and you did well on the course this bike will be a breeze. Just have patience tho because it does have power behind it
This would be a fantastic bike to learn on! I agree its got a ton of power too. This thing wants to wheelie 😁
which ram mount did you purchase? Too many on the site to tell. Thanks in advance!
I purchased the Ram X-Grip from revzilla! Im sure you could buy it from any site though 👍
Excellent review thanks
Thanks for watching 🤘 I subbed to your channel as well
I have not ridden a bike other that dirt when i was a kid i am now 46 and weigh 300lb do you think that bike would work for me or am i to heavy?
You are not too heavy for this bike! You'd be able to ride it no problem, but im not sure if you'd feel comfortable on it. I'm 6'0" 220lbs and I felt a little big on it. Fit just fine still
Point your GoPro up a bit more. We'd rather watch the road in front of you as you ride than at the instrument panel. Thanks for the review. I really, really want one of these bikes, but I want a clutch, lol.
Sorry about that! Ill try to angle the gopro better next time 🙏 they still make rebel 1100's with a manual clutch so you're in luck!
Awesome 👍 let me know how that mustang seat treats ya! Thanks for watching and ride safe
I agree, the seat sucks, I'm waiting for the Corbin, should be here next week
Ive had Mustang seats before. No problems
Corbin is good to.
how is the suspension on the bike? Especially the rear? Do you feel a jolt thru your lower back every time you hit a bump on the highway? I had a CTX700 and got rid of it because there was not much rear wheel travel.
The suspension definitely wasn't as plush as I like it. Then again, I'm 6 foot, 240lbs
Can you compare with your triumph please
@@NicePantsLance thank you so much. cant decide between these 2 bikes. and the new 2022 speed twin has some great updates
Wish one was available in my area
They seem to be flying off the showroom floors! What area are you from?
@@NicePantsLance Connecticut. I’m total novice and this seems like a great first bike.
Ahh bummer. You might have to search in NJ or PA for a Rebel. Its an amazing first bike!
Im 250lb 6'2". Do you think its too small for me? Thanks bud
You could ride it without any trouble, but you would feel too big on it and possibly wouldn't be comfortable. I'm 6'0" and 220lbs
Thanks for watching 🤘
I'm actually looking at the 1100 not sure manual or Dct yet but I want a lighter bike . I'm 5'6 165lbs with a 30.5 inseam and it fits perfectly. I ride a 2007 heratige softail classic right now.
You will love the Rebel! Although, you may miss the size and touring ability of the softail. The Rebel is not the best long distance machine. The DCT is a good option if shifting becomes a problem. Although id only get the DCT if i absolutely had to. Thanks for watching
Can the be used as a beginner bike? Have about 2 years dirt bike experience. Was thinking of getting the DCT.
Absolutely! Just make sure to use a little throttle discipline lol if you choose to open that throttle all the way, be prepared!
nice review . but Im afraid after awhile the trans. its disable cuz its new model
I don't know the reliability of the DCT transmission, but I know they put it in the Africa Twin and Goldwing so it must be good 👍
I have 2 Honda 6 speed all facion clutch, love them but now i got me self, a Rebell1100 dct and boy i ca not stop rising the thing, put it on cruise down the panhandle and boy i only stop for gas, the seat had to go.
Its such a great machine! Sounds like you have yourself a nice collection of bikes
me being 4'9 (yess im really short i know) I am looking at this bike since i passed my msf course i do not really like the clutch. I was going to go with the rebel 500 but my left hand is not that strong. Do you think i would be too small for this bike? I plan on going to a dealership this weekend to sit on one.
You're not short, people only grow until they're perfect. You just didn't take as long as others 😁
So to answer your question, the Rebel 500's seat is approximately 27" off the ground, but I know people with 25" inseams that fit just fine 👍 if you're short-legged, you might want to sit on one just to double check.
DCT is ideal if you're worried about clutch hand strength 💪
@@NicePantsLance I see what you did there lol 🥰 - I hope i can find one in my area ! Thanks so much!
Also good for someone with a prosthetic left leg or arm. Lots of Vet could use this bike. Myself included.
Absolutely! My friend lost his leg and still rides his Harley. We've talked about this bike before
This will be my first bike hopefully at the end of next year I'll have one
Only thing I don't like about this beautiful bike...is the exhaust
There's a few good looking exhausts on the market! I hope you get your Rebel this year 🤞
@@NicePantsLance same here my friend Christmas killed us and kids loved it so we are playing catch up rn...but I hope to get it soon 😁
Debating on getting this bike as my first bike. Will i look big on it? i am 5'11 280
You'll fit on it alright, but yes you will look big on it. I'm 6'0" 220lbs and I looked big on it
Love this bike I think I'm going to trade in my 07 street bob for this bad boy here.
You'd be surprised at how powerful yet nimble this bike is! Ride safe out there 🤘
I love the 1100 DCT, but I cannot really stand automatic mode, it sometimes just doesn't shift like I'd want, then I had times it would fight me upshifting and I down shift and then it upshifts again and I downshift... so annoying... I use manual mode only, and its fantastic.
If I owned this bike, I would probably use manual mode all the time just like you! 👍 thanks for watching
You can use the paddle shifters at any time without hitting the manual button if the bike isn’t shifting the way you like.
How did you feel about the engine braking?
It's very strong! Lots of braking power
Can you drive a stick shift car? Can you drive an automatic car? It’s no big deal going from one to the other, with bike or car IMHO.
It's not too bad. Just don't try to rev up the bike without putting into Neutral first 😂
Newly interested in getting motorcycle. Like the look and dct part. Im 6 foot 2 220lbs. 31 inch inseam. Would i look silly on this? Lol
You would still fit and be able to ride it comfortably, but yes you would look big on it. I'm 6'0" 220lbs with a 32 inch inseam, and I look big on it. The ergonomics are comfortable enough, but it feels like a small bike underneath me. I hope this answers your question!! Thanks for watching 🤘
this is it!
Yes it is! 🤘 thanks for watching
I'd go with the DCT, I'll leave the manual for my boosted civic. Stop and go traffic gets OLD fast especially with a Stage 3 clutch.
Fair enough! Its pretty nice for a DCT. Thanks for watching 🤘
Leaning towards this or a cb500x as my first bike
You'll be very happy with this bike! This one has a ton of power compared to the 500. Definitely enough power and performance to grow into as a beginner, and enough to keep an experienced rider happy! Ride safe out there 🤘
How tall are you?
6'0" tall, 250lbs, with a 32" inseam
@@NicePantsLance thanks for the response. I’m 6’5” do they even make a dct bike for taller people??
dct is awesome; have it on my ctx700. so smooth and ez.
Hell yeah 🤘 thanks for watching!
Never rode a bike with DCT, so I have no opinion on the matter. I do not believe that DCT and ABS would be beneficial for off road vehicles.
I'll have to arrange a test ride on a DCT Africa Twin to find out!
How about the African Twin?
Opps, posted then read your reply N.P.L.

Give me a sand cast Honda 750-4 anytime over that LED bike.
Hell yeah those Hondas were the best
FYI, Forward controls are available in the aftermarket. Although I like the OEM placement.
Why if you don't need it ??????????

I hope your recovery from surgery goes well! Ride safe out there
Nice Video trank you . I got this bike :-)
Thanks for watching 🤘 ride safe!
Foot pegs are the worst part. Everything else excellent. I am 5 10 inches 30 inch pant. Poor design
I didn't mind them cause they look just like the pegs on my Speed Twin. However, my Speed Twin is almost a sport bike lol this cruiser should have more comfortable pegs
Sure I’d ride an auto bike
Theyre definitely worth a try!
Nice GTI by the way
@@NicePantsLance thanks it’s a work in progress
