Honda Rebel 1100 REVIEW. Have the Japanese made a proper cruiser? We put the CMX1100 DCT to the test
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 лют 2025
- We ride and review the 2022 Honda CMX1100 Rebel motorcycle and try to summarise what this bike is all about.
Is the Honda Cruiser Bike a proper cruiser motorbike?
Does it sound right?
Does it have the cruiser stance and riding position?
How good is the engine?
What is the DCT version like?
Would manual gears be better?
How good are the brakes?
Does it have any storage?
What is the styling like?
How about power and torque from the Africa Twin engine?
Does it compare to the offerings from Harley-Davidson, Indian and BMW?
We give it a good ol' testride and tell you all about it!
Clearly a bike for those who likes to spend their time actually riding it than repairing it.
You say that but we have owned many Harley’s and never had any problems!
I never mentioned Harley’s. :)
@@tombombadilofficial Sorry I don’t think Darcy looked at what video it was 👍🏼
👋 I have a honda rebel dct 1100, I have loved and love every ride I take its a great bike. I really like the fat bob 114 2023 and I'm thinking about swapping it. Do you think that's a good choice? As performance goes of course, and putting aside the make as the fat bob being a harley is almost convincing enough 😅
I have one. With a few modifications, it is outstanding.
I'm very happy I bought one.
Awesome 👍🏼👍🏼
Agree!
Hey guys! I can see the progress you've made in your reviews, making a style of your own. Really good production and always giving both footage of the bike stopped and moving which I love. Keep it up you two!
Thanks very much indeed
I just put in an order for a rebel 1100. Manual transmission though :) Upgrading the old 500 :D
Awesome 💯👍🏼
Always love your videos, this is the bike I am looking at DCT,I have arthritis and using a clutch in the city well hurts, thank you gentlemen, keep up the great videos 🤙
I own a 2021 Honda rebel 1100 manual I have about 4,000 miles on it, it's a smooth ride and a great sport cruiser for the money.
I really think your tag team review added some interesting details from both of your prospective. That also allowed more viewing time as well. I like it, thanks!
Thanks buddy, this is how we normally used to do it but unfortunately due to the Ol’Man moving to wales and I am still in Rutland it’s only so often we can do them together now.
Glad you got another chance to work with your dad. I'm looking forward to your next review, either by you or the old man. Thanks for what you guys do!
Thank you buddy! We have another 2 reviews coming up with the both of us. And then some more from us on our own. Lots to come this year!
Owner, long term review:
Im on a touring in Thailand with the rebel 1100 dct. This last days i rode around 1800km 50% good roads 50% awfull construction and extremely rural roads. Total km since the purchase 6000km.
Its a great machine after few upgrades. Stock i was getting extremely lower back pain after only 30min of riding. I install windshield, 1inch risers and a better seat. Now i can ride confortable for 2 hours straight, 4 to 5 hours a day.
When you need to speed, she can speed. 0 to 160kmh pretty fast. When you want to cruise slowly and enjoy the landscape she is pretty stable, low vibrations.
Fuel consumption im getting around 18 to 20km per liter on this touring, road conditions arent the best but everytime i enter the highway i speed a bit. If i control the trottle thinking about saving fuel maybe i can get 22km per liter. Maybe even 24.
Only complain is the pillion seat, my gf hate it. After replace its great. Suspension isnt the best but its a cruiser, nothing to do about it. Sometimes you feel you re going to jump out of the bike.
No mechanical or hardware problems till now.
I ride almost daily on the rebel, i own few more bikes but the rebel its my favourite. Im short and i quite feel more confortable riding low seat motorcyles. I own another DCT as well, the nc750x.
I forgot something lol MY ONLY BIG COMPLAIN: Lack of acessories in the market, even i live in thailand where usualy we have one of the best aftermarkets company parts in the world.. but maybe after 2 or 3 years of realising date we can have much more acessories and parts. At least i hope so.
Excellent points indeed 💯👍🏼
@@motovlogjoni hey Joni, I spend a lot of time there. I was curious how tall you are and arm span/length, as I just put $ down on one and thinking my lower back might hurt because of reaching the handlebars. Also, where did you get your seat? I have seen online you can get a forward seat that can help with this as well along with the risers.
I think I would enjoy this bike in the manual transmission variation.
It's good that Honda is making great bikes like this because Harley has been running away with their prices lately and they really need the competition.
Thanks for taking the time to do this video review gents. I ESPECIALLY enjoyed the “on the bike” camera views (during which you did not talk) which allowed us to really hear the character of the bike while riding. I loved being able to hear the gears, stator whine, and exhaust notes during accel/decel events. Very well done!! 👏. Subscribed!
As for the bike itself, I think it seems to be an absolute blast to ride. My wife has wanted one ever since she’s seen the 500, but always wished for more power to be able to ride alongside me on highways and faster mountain segments. The Rebel 1100 fits that niche perfectly and does so with a DCT and cruise control. For what my wife wants in a bike (low seat height, fun styling, ease of riding, more engine to keep alongside my ‘21 Goldwing) this 1100 ticks pretty much all the boxes for her.
Thanks very much. Welcome aboard 👍🏼👍🏼 It’s a super bike for sure 💯
2 years late, but regarding the comment on the mirrors not being where they should: it's a fair chance that it is not the mirror's fault, because, good sir, you are a giant!
Great overall bike. Rational, classic, modern electronics and reliable. Good job by Honda.
Yes indeed!
I'm sold, I'll be upgrading my 500 to the 1100 for sure! Amazing video!
Excellent! Thanks very much. It’s a brilliant bike, not everyones cup of tea, but that’s sometimes a good thing (like with my BMW R 18)
the review that I have been waiting from this channel, thank you for the nice review vids
Thanks very much 👍🏼👍🏼
I like that Honda let the bike be what It is, and not try to imitate another cruiser like most companies try to do with their cruisers.
And, it's a Honda. You couldn't kill it with a hand grenade!
I appreciate not having music during the riding segments. it's very annoying on other vids when I'm trying to hear the bike and the music is drowning it out.
We never have music in our videos, make sure you subscribe 😉
No shake, no roar, no art - I'm with the Ol Man on this one, not far enough removed from the Africa Twin for a cruiser, which to me is even less excusable for this engine size. Just. an. opinion. Great video as always guys, and so much the better for including both perspectives!
Thanks Andrew. Of course apart from that it’s excellent
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Yeah can't argue with the functionality/price/reliability, and of course respect to the fans.
Yes!!! The duo is back together, miss you two doing a review on the same bike.
Keep up the good work lads 🤙
Thanks buddy, Darcy came over for a couple of days so we got a few videos done!
I bought rebel 500 2022. First time with bobers I didn't knew that this category of bikes will Mach for me so good. Now is time to go for the 1100 manual . Great bike but only manual.
Oh yes! You guys got it! I'm glad to see it!
Yes we got our hands on it, enjoy the video 😁
I'm surprised that you didn't talk about the 4 driver's mode. I got mine one year ago, and I like it in the "user " sport/ manual setting. This way, you can program the traction control, engine brake and engibe power settings. It's a lot more fun that way. And you shift on the left handle bar. It also got a phone charger connector under the seat.
We did mention the modes (which we’re not fans of personally). I know a lot of people are though 👍🏼
I'm riding and racing bikes since 52 years now and can't understand why anybody is asking for driver's modes on (such a simple) motorcycles
Thank you for your nice an well made review, through it I can really get myself a clear vision on nearly all the important details I am interested in the CMX 1100, I am thinking about getting my hand on one and your video might put me more into the direction getting one so thank you very much!
Thanks buddy. Glad it was helpful 👍🏼👍🏼
I love my Rebel 1100DCT. Added forward controls, sissy bar, exhaust now looking to change the handlebars for Indian Scout V bars.
Excellent 👍🏼👍🏼
Very cool guys reviewing some very cool bikes. And I have to visit that country side! Thanks gentlemen.
Thanks very much indeed 👍🏼👍🏼
I would like to thank you and the And your dad on a wonderful spectacular review on the Honda rebel 1100 is spot on I’m so happy that to see both of you trying and testing the 1100
Thank you very much 👍🏼👍🏼
@@MrDarcy-OlMan How about you have both tested tested the bike and I felt it especially the DCT version would you recommend that for rider at my age who is 38 just got into riding after riding 125cc KTM duke ?
@@UFCfighter07 yes it would be fine. A lot more power than a 125 but it’s manageable. If you an ride a manual gearbox, we would recommend that in preference to the DCT
Thanks so much for your review! I didn't like how the bike looks at first, until I had a go on it. It's has soo much power and doesn't ride like a cruiser I must say. I also like the cruise control, there is even a + and - button to adjust the cruising speed. I ended up buying the manual version, it's awesome!
Excellent! Great to hear 💯
Same for me! In the flesh it looks awesome and grows on you! I also have a 2022 Rocket 3 R, and it isn't much slower! It is a beast!
@@Mo-xx9gg it's an absolute blast to ride! The instant power delivery is superb but the bike is still light for heavy traffic manoeuvrability when needed. I love it!
Same here. Waiting on some parts from Daytona in Japan. Their crash bars are small and neat and I think a must for protecting the foot controls
Also going to try the small flyscreen
@@wave6413 yeah I think a windscreen is a must on motorway trips, I'm also going to get some bar raisers
Some of the best and most innovative cruisers in the last 35 years have come from Japanese manufacturers.
👍🏼👍🏼
Styling wise, I think Honda have got the 21st century cruiser spot on.
OK great. I know you're not keen on retro/classic looks
Good review as always and interesting concept a cruiser Honda build quality and DCT gearbox. We are really blessed with such an array of different bikes and styles.
Thanks very much 👍🏼👍🏼
6-speed, ABS, cruise control, throttle by wire, user modes, led lighting… when the Rebel 1100 came out, all of that was non-existent or cost extra on the Sportster line, and the Scout was little better. Can confirm it sounds great with a slip on exhaust, also that bar-end mirrors are a must if you like getting a good view of something other than your shoulders. The seat is trash, really benefits from an air hawk seat pad.
Yes got it all 👍🏼
This bike would suit me as I'm only 5'7". Looking at some of the comments about it being crap or whatever are points of view which is fair enough. When it comes down to it you buy the bike you want as with anything in life. Don't worry about what other people are doing unless it affect you. I'd like to see a shaft drive as with the BMW too.
It’s a fabulous bike! You wouldn’t be disappointed 👍🏼👍🏼
I just test rode it this morning the 1100T love it love the look so nice to ride it's comfy to and light the lightness of the bike is one thing they have not mentioned compared to the BMW R18 on its very heavy 🪨 this bike is very maneuverable very light bringing the difference in HP in other words 90HP on BMW and 80 odd on this but because of the lightness of it bringing it properly more HP than the BMW
Double discs don't add stopping "power", they add heat capacity, so you can use them a lot harder before they overheat. Only really "needed" on track, so nothing's lost, but I don't turn them down when available.
Truly heaven for riders’ country.
You are blessed indeed, and lucky.
The harder you work, the luckier you get 😃
From Southern California ~ Ride Forever!
Yes it’s really lovely. Thanks very much 👍🏼👍🏼
Nothing but love for this channel. Always waiting for a new review form you guys! Love from NY and you have to get spoiled from riding all these bikes haha
Thanks very much indeed. Yes we are privileged indeed
Great video Guys.. Nice to see you together again, I was so excited when Honda released this bike but yet again my 6'4" frame and long legs made it too cramped for me... And looking at it again now I'm not totally sold on the looks 🤔
Thanks very much. Yes that’s a shame 👍🏼👍🏼
I can see a lot of very negative opinionated comments here and there. this bike may not be everyone in terms of style, certainly not me. However, you guys proved its a great ride, with flaws like the mirrors presented openly. So for some, if the style appeals, it’s perfect.
Thanks very much. Nice to hear sensible comments without prejudice; 🙏👍🏼👍🏼
My wife has been obsessed with it ever since she’s seen it. She’s ridden a CBR250R and a Shadow 750 Spirit but neither of those lit her fire and excitement as this Rebel has. Throw in the standard cruise control and the DCT and this bike is making waves for sure.
I love the description (paraphrased) It is a rebel for someone who wears a shirt and tie and shiny shoes in the week and on the weekend a leather jacket.
The difference of opinions in the aesthetics of the bike is also interesting. I look at it and it looks like a work of art, but then I like the digital read outs and the LED lights up front. I think I'd go with the cowling over the headlight.
A great video. I currently have a 2014 Honda CTX 700 DCT, and I absolutely love it. When I'm ready to move forward I'll absolutely check out the Rebel!
Thanks very much. Good points there and as always looks are subjective. Good luck with the plan!
Love this comment, but funnily enough 99% of Harley Davidson riders are weekend/seasonal riders.
Somehow all Harley-Davidson bikes allow a better pillion catalog of options than all others and still looks good. One of the reason I like Harley-Davidson is pillion seating options and space.
Yes they are very good for that 💯
I own one of these and we’re just getting over winter. Thanks for the ride. It should get me by until it dries out.
Awesome! 👍🏼👍🏼
Great video guys and ❤️ to see you together when you can 👍🏼
Nice bike and great storage area for such items 😂😂😂
Thanks buddy. Yes shame theres no space for the dog!
Love the country side roads you get to ride.
Thank you. Yes they’re lovely 👍🏼
Thanks for this video guys. I have been thinking about this bike for a while but haven't seen any in Ireland yet and being of similar stature to poppa bear I was delighted to see him on it. Its a lovely bike and thanks for all your videos.
Thanks for watching buddy, glad you enjoyed!
Once again another video that I enjoyed very much, I think it is a japanese interpretation of the cruiser theme, and as such it is an original, no chrome, light and reduced.
Keep up the good work, have fun and ride safe.
Yes definitely it’s a good modern take on a cruiser. Thanks for watching!
This bike was my choice if I didn't buy my 2022 Street Bob. Like your reviews. Great scenery.
Best motorcycle channel right here
Thank you very much!
I quite like tractors. Had a job at Kibota doing the predelivery prep work. Those large air-conditioned, mega CD/radio models are amazing
Great! I nearly bought a Kubota but the supply delays were 6 months!
Worth the wait. Nearly bought one myself. Plough the backyard or use a slasher to cut the grass.
Power-cruisers like this bike are suitable for short riders looking for powerful motorcycles but having a hard time finding the right one that matches their height
Ok good point 👍🏼
I'm 5'4" and ride an Honda VTX1800.
This is not a power cruiser. Just a cruiser. Yamaha Warrior 1700, HD V-Rod, and Honda VTX were power-cruisers. The power-cruiser class largely died out about 10 years ago (V-Rod was the last, ending production around 2017 or so).
edit - I forgot about the Suzuki M109R, which is still in production.
@@nintendad1166 Yeah unfortunately. I love my 2004 Honda VTX 1800, and will never get rid of it.
@@DaroffApFire The VTX1800 is plenty of bike. I bet you love it.
The Rebel is an excellent bike. I owned the Rebel 500 for a couple years and sold it to get a Triumph Street Twin. I liked the look, feel, sound and ride of the Triumph bike a bit better. However, I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss my old Rebel!
Honda are probably bringing out the Honda CL500 that is based on the Rebel 500 but looks like a Triumph scrambler.
@@johntheaccountant5594 Hmmm..... I'll have to keep an eye out for that one!
I think Honda always leans towards the sporty and practical side of things and it looks like they’ve done just that with this cruiser even though it doesn’t feel like a traditional cruiser. Others will soon be copying them.
Honda also doesn't bring cruiser bikes to Brazil, we don't have Honda Hebel here. Unfortunately automakers don't like to bring cruiser bikes to Brazil, I do not know why, but... we brazilians love cruiser bikes, this lifestyle.
That’s a shame 👍🏼
@James Crockett Unfortunately not. Here in Brazil I can only find the Honda Shadow until 2013.
Great job on the review guys really no BS just the way I like it, I am grabbing that bike tomorrow morning in Montreal Canada, keep up the amazing videos
Right on! Thanks buddy
Back in the early 80's I passed my test on a Honda C90 and those things could U-turn on a penny😊😊
Yes amazing 💯
2 brakes 1 throttle 1 clutch and 5 or 6 gears is all i need as i learned to ride that way, a biker told me when i was 17 its the man that makes the machine not the machine that makes the man
I tried one of these last Fall and decided I hated it. Then I had another go round and decided I was being finicky after 30k miles on my CTX700. Since it needed a lot of maintenance I traded it in for the rebel 1100 DCT (I can pull a clutch just fine, but my left hand has some damage and aches after a bit). After a few hundred miles in a week, 1/3 of which I put on a windscreen....I really like it now.
I thought about waiting a year for the NT1100 to come across the pond, but as a short rider with short legs, the rebel does the trick.
Ahh that’s good. It’s a great bike 👍🏼👍🏼
Test drove the manual and the DCT and although I’m not a fan of the DCT it’s FAST 💨 (60 mph in 3.4 seconds and breaches the quarter-mile in 12.1 seconds). That’s crazy for a cruiser at $9k. Not a fan of the down shifts is the only thing. I’m going to purchase one I enjoy the manual more but that DCT acceleration is addicting.
It’s definitely nicer to shift it yourself 💯
I wouldn't have a DCT bike unless they were giving them away and even then...just too late in the day. Looks like a fun commuter weekend cruiser.
Yes DCT is ok for A-B riding but we don’t ride to be disengaged! 👍🏼
About the driving test and the sharp turn, we call it the "garage". The meaning about the test is just to show that you can control the bike at low speeds. It dosent mean its always the right way to do it in everyday life, but they want to see that you CAN do it
We usually compare motorbikes with Hondas as it is a golden engineered brand
Yes true 👍🏼
The price you quote is for the manual. I am extremely interested in the DCT model. I have got used to autos due to riding a scooter every day. I have had an interest in cruisers for a while, and this is the sensible choice. It looks better in the dark grey.
Ok thanks I didn’t realise that. Good points 👍🏼
Not my kind of bike, but it looks and sounds great! I like your review style as well 👍
Ok. Thanks buddy 👍🏼
You can see where Harley got the styling for their new Nightster (despite what their pretentious release docu would have you believe lol). Too bad they didn't also capture the actual performance and price of this Rebel 1100. As a HD owner (FXLRS) and lover, I NEVER thought I'd say "buy the Honda", but here we are. In this weight class absolutely buy the Indian Scout first, then consider this Honda Rebel 1100.
Do you know what; we were saying exactly that. Everything you’d buy a Harley for, the Nightster doesn’t have. Perhaps that’s intentional, to attract those with no aesthetic taste
Always great to see your videos👍
Thank you, glad you enjoyed!
I really like this bike. A different exhaust and you are sorted.
Yes definitely 👍🏼
SPEngineering have that taken care of
👌🏼
Great Review guys! I don’t particularly like the DCT Version but the Manual is Great! Cheers from Salem, Ohio.
Thanks very much! Yes manual definitely better for his bike
The brown needs the option brown comfort seat to give the bike a proper look. I have the black DCT with the batwing cowling, brown seat and fitted the SV650 rear rack plus some " cheaper " saddlebag supports with green Oxford 8 tail bags as small panniers which work very well with slightly longer/wider flat foot plates for the rider as the standard ones are too thin and short. So it is customisable but parts are hard to find even a year after the release of the bike. I have found now the engine braking indicator is reversed with the most bars being the least engine braking and I thought it was just me getting mixed up with the bar meaning on the settings. As it is electronically limited to 100mph, which I have done on a local " private " road it is plenty fast enough for the UK roads and 3.6 seconds to 60 mph gives you plenty to stay ahead of the traffic.
Great points and info there! Welcome to the ton up club! I know that ‘private’ road too
Good video - BTW I thought the TMF pants bit was pretty amusing!
Thanks buddy! No pants in this one thankfully 😁
Love this review, that's the exact bike I intend to buy, I wasn't sure about the colour, but having now seen it outside in England and not in the showroom, I'm convinced. Also love the dct box option.
Thanks very much. OK that’s great. 👍🏼👍🏼
LOVE this bike! I have a 2024 matte green 1100 DCT T - Tour. - added Coffman Thunder exhaust pipes that sound incredible (baffles in) - handles so good - and the DCT is nothing short of amazing!!!! Never thought I’d love a Honda so much - I also ride a Moto Guzzi V7 2024 “TEN” - CHARACTER (can’t find neutral much)!! And a 21 BMW F 900 XR -that I’m riding from LA to Colorado Rocky Mountains tomorrow - love them all!!!! Next up, 2025 Goodwing DCT? 2025 BMW R 1300 RT DCT? Or 2025 Guzzi California???????
Under seat storage bloody hilarious 😂🤣😂🤣👍
Very useful!
Great review! I have been riding a Shadow Aero for a number of years and due to its reliability, comfort, and value, I will be staying with Honda! This bike looks great!
I'd love to ride it, dct or manual, I'm not going to hate on it like so many people in the comments, any bike is always better than a car
That’s for sure! 💯
Have they? Yes, starting in 1984 with the Vulcan VN700 later the VN750.
I've just come across this channel! Very nice and a great review. I did a review on the 500 and oh how I'd love some of the upgrades they've made to the 1100. 👏
Thanks very much Andy 👍🏼👍🏼
nice review...your roads look like a lot of fun to ride....
Thanks buddy. Yes definitely 💯
No doubt, what beautiful countryside.
Great review! You have summarized everything important there is to know about the 1100. Except for the exhaust, I really like the Honda and everything she brings with! You are guaranteed not to make a wrong decision when purchasing this motorcycle, a Honda will never let you down. I ride an Indian Scout Bobber, but would speak as positive of the Honda as I would about my own bike - maybe even a little more.🙂 I really enjoyed your review! You're sure to have a new subscriber! Best wishes from Germany.
Welcome aboard 👍🏼👍🏼
Coffman exhaust amazing!
This was a great review, including several aspects that others ignore. Well communicated and straight forward. Great ride footage, and your scenery can't be beat! Thank you 👍
Great review. Lovely looking bike
Thank you. Yes indeed 👍🏼
Nice bike, good review, you both look good on that big Honda..
Thank you!
Thank you kindly
This is a brilliant bike; however, it is knee-capped by the tiny gas tank. This COULD HAVE BEEN the perfect solo touring bike for smaller people. So close, yet so far. I wish there were an after-market 5+ gallon gas tank. If I were to ever buy one, I'd get the manual transmission. For me, it's just more fun (less expensive, too!).
I don’t think they particularly expect people to do vast distances on them tbh 👍🏼
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Why not? It seems like it could be perfect for it. People tour on Harley Fat Boys, why not this? (PS: Thanks for replying and the great vid!)
You’re right, OM…style IS important. Still, a nice bike for the money.
Harleys are impractical and Trash
Old man,,, that's you. Fits you well. Honda makes great bike's. My old 75, CB 750 four was a great bike. The chrome could have been better but for quality of everything cept the chrome, haha. But the inline 4 was quick and sounded great. Twas all stock and I miss it.
Single disk front brake on an 1150?
Two up big guys? Naw. And yeah, cruisers, even semi cruisers don't have a tight turning radius. It's a given.
Harley definitely needs to take lessons from the world's bikes in many areas. And I know they are now. Considering they're mostly made elsewhere now anyway. We here in America tend to boast too much about our products, especially nowadays. Thanks guys.
Thanks buddy 💯
The sound of the bike is awesome 👌
Yes it does sound nice indeed 👍🏼
Oh my god your roads are so…. British.
Kudos for riding on that type of surface.
Greetings from Marseilles. France. Twisties. Yeah.
Honda stopped investing in art and I find that a tad sad. Function over form, and they've gotten such a beautiful history with the cb1100, cb750, and the shadow line.
Yes I guess the younger generation want bikes that look like transformers. Not sure why
the old air cooled CBs were so beautiful 🥺
@@MrDarcy-OlMan actually I consider myself to be of the younger generation haha. And I own the now sadly discontinued cb1100
@@sachan9081 a truly beautiful bike!
I like the let-off sound.
Yea 👍🏼👍🏼
I have no real comment on the Honda 1100 Rebel just now. I am still watching reviews and reading articles about it. So far me thinks it might be a possibility for me to ride with Charcott Marrie Tooth Disease which is a degenerative nerve disease so I don't have to hurt my feet to shift a manuel clutch with the Automatic option, but cost a bit more money.
OK yes the DCT is great if you have any such issues 100%
Another great review, thanks. I like the colour, the sleek look and the price makes it very good value…….but not a bike I’d want to own. It just doesn’t have that ‘put a smile on my face’ when I see it🤔
Thanks very much. Fair enough 👍🏼👍🏼
That's ok, we have to do a slalom with cones, breaking and acceleration, rev at walking speed, and do the u-turns. :)
👍🏼👍🏼
My dad has a Rebel 500 and his main comment is " Why don't Honda do a 750 version? Seems like a big gap from 500 to 1100." I'm only a few minutes into the video but I wanted to type this out while it's fresh in my mind.
Interesting point, maybe that’s something they should do 🤔
Suppose my question is this. Should the fact that this bike has a 1.1L engine put timid riders off? Or is the engine docile enough for cautious and new-ish riders?
OK interesting point 👍🏼 it has plenty of oomph when you open it up but if you just cruise around on it you would be fine.
It can fly if you want it to! Then there’s accidental acceleration…Sometimes less is more so I’d honestly look at the Royal Enfield Interceptor (see our review)
Japanese market cruiser in the U.K.
if it floats your boat go for it I guess
A good review as always.
👍🏼👍🏼
You got to review it then
The bike is not my cup of tea but another great review.
The only thing to mention is that the mod 1 test problem is not really to do with this bike but would be interested in more info on the test. I've got my training and test next month 🙏😁
Yes at last!
Yes I know but it shows that the test is designed for certain bikes and is no reflection on the real world riding
@Mr Darcy & the Ol' Man one of the reasons I'm using the bike at the training centre and not mine. How many times since passing your test have you ever had to do it again?
In 20 years of driving cars, I dont recall another 3-point turn 🤣
That storage part of the video was hilarious
The rebels handle very well for what they are; however, the bikes as they are just don’t have the same character/personality, that some of the other brands offer. For me it’s the pocket protector nerd of the “bobber” genre. Is it bad? No, but there are better options out there. That’s why I traded my rebel. In the end, everyone has different tastes and needs, and these are decent bikes with a face only a mother could love :) cheers
Interesting points there. I had to chuckle at your final sentence
@@MrDarcy-OlMan I’m curious, did you find the seat more comfortable on the 1100 in comparison to the 500? That was the other problem I ran into, even after purchasing the mustang solo seat.
@@rjlacaillade2519 I think overall more comfortable because it’s a tad bigger and more roomy
@@MrDarcy-OlMan That is an excellent point! Thanks for the quick response! Just wish they could offer a better seat from the factory for the lower displacement Rebels, I mean that would be the bee’s knees! Nonetheless thank you for the excellent content! Keep em coming!
It's more dependable than a Harley and that's all that matters to me . Not being stranded in the middle of nowhere is a plus . Honda has never let me down.
I would love to have this for a second bike.
Cool. What’s your current bike ?
Really enjoyed this impressive review from both of you 😀
Honda needs to bring the magna back.
Most fun Bike i ever owned.
Have a rc43
I was so looking forward to your review on this bike because you were very positive about the 500. Is it me or does this 1100 DCT sound dreadful? Loved your review because you say it as it really is. Someone said after the Excel show "it hurts your eyes"! A bit harsh but I see where they are coming from.
Thank you 👍🏼 You can hear the gears engaging etc which is fine; it makes various noises running downhill on no throttle.
