I have this CMX 1100. You have missunderstood the cruise control completely. You only have to activate the cruise only once, and the bike will remember it for the rest of it's life, until you change the battery or inactivate the cruiseC. If you want to use your cruise during your ride (when cruise is activated, yellow sign will be lighted on your dash), you only need to pusch the paddle (not the grey button) down once, and it will remember the speed (that yuou have) until you touch the clutch or brake or the throttle in opposite direction. Pushing the paddle up, it will increase the cruise speed. While cruising, you can overtake cars with the throttle, and when your done just let go of the throttle and it will return to the cruise speed.
I do only get these bikes for an hour or so, i do my best to learn all the little nuances of each machine but sometimes there may be gaps in my videos, luckily we’ve got owners like yourself to help me out and fill in the blanks or give advice to other riders looking at the bike. Appreciate the comment Kenneth, ride safe.
Something I found out just the other day, if you dont want to hit brakes to kill the C.C., you you roll off the throttle, and keep rolling it backwards and that will also cancel the C.C.
@@Briansgate I have the manual version, and always when I squeeze the clutch the C.C i killed. If I then want to furthermore want to slow down, I release the clutch and the engine braking starts. In manual version the throttle works completely as with the DCT version, but I don't like it because the engine braking starts immediately.
I did a demo day on one yesterday. Hadn't rode a cruiser before. Wasn't disappointed by this bike at all. Plenty of power. More than enough. Nice smooth engine.. I think the tourer version would be the one I'd go for. Definitely a bike I'll consider in the future.
Shame they decided to clip its wings power wise as I believe it has the same power plant as the NT and Africa Twin. I came across a guy on one of these last week must have been the tourer variant as it had a screen and luggage, he wasn’t hanging around seemed to have a fair turn of speed. Thanks for the review Matt 👍
Ciao. Bel video. Si dice che la moto sia instabile oltre i 130 km/h. Tu hai notato il problema ? Dicono si risolvi con Metzeler Cruisetec e stringendo la sospensione posteriore. Cosa dici ?
Hi mate, thanks for the comment, this was only a demo ride for the day, but I didn’t notice any instability when pushing it on. Tyres always pay a massive part in the handling of any bike and it’s an easy fairly cheap fix for the problem if you do come across it.
Harley doesn’t need any help in killing off the brand. High quality, decent power, mediocre gearing and insane prices will kill the Harley when their traditionalist pass away. All this and I own Street Bob!!!
They try other categories but miss the mark in my eyes. Pan am, horrible riding position for the road. Sportster S just doesn't work as a sporty cruiser. They need to stick to what they are good at but bring the prices down to something more affordable. Id love a street glide but couldn't justify that price tag.
@georgearcher5696 since that video I have now released my video on the sportser s, check it out on the channel mate. I’ve yet to release my video on the nightstand 😁
I'm glad you rode the regular Transmission model, instead of that cheesy DCT model. There's a place for DCT, but they are the Velcro sneaker of Motorcycling.
I take what i can get, but i agree with you, i tested the NT1100 on DCT and wish that was manual as well. Certainly a place for certain riders for the DCT so I’m glad it’s an option for those that need it. But ill keep to my manual with QS for now :)
I like it,but im not sure if id be comfortable parking up next to some hardlys or indians.bit of a sheep in wolfs clothing maybe?good honest review though mate, maybe a few wheelies to prove it can wheelie though?😂
I’ve seen people wheelie Harley’s. Doesn’t mean I can 🤣🤣. Once again though, it’s a cheaper option for a certain market of riders. Not everyone can afford some expensive Harley prices.

Sounds so simple 😂...

Just got my 1100 about 3 weeks ago, my first bike, and I freaking love it!
Enjoy it mate. Remember this small thing, rubber side down 😁🤙

No worries Les, this thing can shift that’s for sure.
No Harley Killer but it is a darn nice bike ..
I have the DCT and love it.
Glad to hear you’re enjoying your model mate. Ride safe 🤙

The DCT is actually fully automatic with the ability to run it in manual mode
Saw one in the flesh the other day looked ok and sounded ok, just not for me but i do think all bikes should come storage like that 👍 great video
Tell me about it, enough storage for most of my camera gear in there without the need for the extra bag :P

I just got into riding this summer and have an 883 Sportster. I'm thinking about getting this Rebel 1100 in the Spring.
You can't really compare it with your fat bob but you can with the harley nightser and thats a few grand more as well
At the time of filming id never ridden the nightster but had ridden the Fatbob hence my choice to compare it to what I knew :)
@@DSR1YT you should ride the nightser or Sportster s I'd like your views on them bearing in mind the cost difference

this bike needs option to put forward controls deff..
Not something ive looked in to, but agreed, give me that full cruiser feeling

No the SWM Stormbreaker V1200 is a Harley killer 😛
