I remember trying DS3 with only Darkhand thinking it'd be a fun challenge run only for it to be completely viable up to post-endgame
It is very useful to use this to bring down the dancer early if you want to access some weapon in the areas behind her. She is weak to dark, and the attacks are very low commitment since it is a fist weapon.
Yeah every single time I play ds3 I get the dark hand early and take out dancer for early titanite chunks, genuinely such a good strat
funny challenge, i love the dark hand as "weapon" concept
also the death to gaping prolly came from the pineapple mage buffing him + the pineapple guy also shooting at youat the same time.

Muda Muda run is always appreciated. Fist weapons are always my favorites because the devs dont EVER expect you to use them. So things that you punch fold pretty quickly.
It helps when you use any other fist weapon but the dark hand

The editing make this 10x better.
Few things;
1.) There are several points in the video where the music is so loud, it makes it difficult to hear you speak.
2.) Some of your black screens between parts are longer than they need to be. The most notable on is near the start.
3.) The choice to constantly cut to events that haven't happened yet in the video is an unique one, but it can make it hard to follow what's going on at times.

For anyone trying first runs on any souls game remember this- don't lock on. It moves the swings in a upwards angle slightly that causes them to miss vs if you just swing infront of you to hit legs of enemies

I really like the editing style. The small introduction beforehand, focus on the important parts, and the comedy style is really good. Only the music should maybe be a little softer, especially when speaking at the same time, as music and voice are at about the same volume and therefore focussing on the voice is harder.

@@sariuswasstolenalready Understandable attempt. As someone who doesn't know sound mixing or design, I cannot speak from experience, but as with everything in life, it's probably down to trial, error and practice.
I am still pretty impressed by the editing and storyboard though. I feel like souls challenge run videos have developed a type of formula over the last few years, which is easy to recognize but not necessarily easy to recreate. So seeing there are not many videos on your channel, I'd say that part is implemented very well out of the box. My only idea to further improve that, would be to personalize the style a little more for more recognizability. You have your gigga chad character and personality when speaking, but maybe there is something neat, to be added. Bushy has the attempts and load out after every boss, zerolenny used to have his robot voice and now focuses more on himself, the backlogs has his overanalytical perspective and so on. I think this one is very hard to achieve, but being able to instantly say: this is sariuswasstolenalready and not JK Leeds, Meaty Jesus or whoever else could be beneficial.
But at the end of the day, I'm only a stranger on the internet, giving you may opinion. As long as you're having fun, the most important part is taken care of and as a side effect quality will be high :)
Oh yeah I absolutely agree, I've fairly recently moved away from making very typical overwatch slop content to actually putting around 30 hours into a decent length video, but yeah I'm s l o w l y developing my own kind of style. Very VERY inspired by other channels that have done it a lot better though 😬

Great video, this was very fun to watch, and I 100% agree with how fun and fair the Artorias fight is he really is the Git Gud boss
Honestly the only boss that doesn't show Dark Souls 1's age in the slightest, maybe it's how well telegraphed his attacks are and tight the hitboxes are but he's honestly timeless as a challenge
@@sariuswasstolenalreadyhis attacks are designed around the players rolls which is the style fromsoft picked up from then on. u could roll backwards and be safe for a while for every boss in ds1 but if u try it on artorias hes just gonna finish his attack and rush forward. truly the goat boss of ds
He actually forces you to react accordingly, not just react. The only other boss in the main game who does that is Gwyn, but he doesn't do enough damage for it to actually change your play style like artorias. Love wolf man's design so much

I literally don't understand how people can have the patience to do throwing knife or consumable runs, especially in the earlier souls games when the scaling didn't really work so you were stuck at 20 damage a throw against manus ☠️

Nah, just a dark hand? I saw how they only went through a grab attack (which does not work on almost ALL bosses)
If you do the grab on anything that isn't humanoid it does like 70% damage and passes through them

That one means you have to dodge past about 4 dragons, then run past the darkwraith anyways
Even though the ghost run back is awful at least their attacks aren't AOE like the dragons 😬

Torturous is the perfect word, hitting the r1 button about 300 times every single Manus attempt was infuriatingly slow
