The chosen music in this video was fantastic. Really enjoyed the video in general. Imo the breaks between blackscreens were a little bit too long, but that's just personal preference. And I knew that I wasn't the only one that chose "Blooming Villain" nfor the Nito fight!
Yeah their hotbox of the sword includes the hilt which does like no damage. The only issue is that when you stay that close for ages they either nuke themselves or so the grab attack and demolish my base health bar :')
Nothing quite as refreshing as an honest take on a challenge run. Feels like a regular player trying these and not some try-hard that does it without a single bump in the road or moment of strife.

Imo, bows in DS is the closest and realest experience I can get when firing it irl. I can run a couple miles, my arm strength is only above normal but my arm stamina is shitty. Can't fire it faster. So it's like seeing myself in the game fully immersed in Miyazaki's world.
Why did you not take advantage of the RTSR given that you're fighting from range with a Short Bow? That would make a lot of fights quicker, and thus safer. I already did a Bow only run and it was pretty easy by using hyper mode barring a couple of bosses like Kalameet, whose weak point is small and hard to hit. Also, RTSR provides a lot more benefit to this particular run since counter damage only affects physical damage, so the Leo Ring doesn't give you to much bang for your buck, and you can use Power Within by using the Darkmoon Seance Ring to get the attunment slot, equip the spell, use it and then unequip the ring. This video inspired me to try this run as well, so here are some route changes I'm planning: - Similar start getting the shot bow up to +5 and buy the blacksmith box picking the RTSR and the Firekeeper souls in New Londo and the parish on the way. - Then go to Blight Town, farm the green shards, get the 2 red chunks from the Great Hollow, and cheese Queelag and Ceasless to gain access to the Large Fire Ember, while this won't have any scaling at least I won't have to farm humanities so the damage is more consistent and at +10 with fire arrows is an AR of 447, which isn't great since I'm doing split damage but it will suffice. - Go to Vamos and upgrade to Fire +7, then kill the gargoyles and Capra, and go to the depths to free Laurentius and dispatch the Gaping Dragon, killing Lautrec on the way to not lose the Firelink Bonfire. - Once those bosses are done go back to Firelink and head to the asylum to trade the Pyromancy Flame and kill the black knights for 3 more chunks then upgrade to +8 at the bonfire. - then I would proceed the same as in this video. Dealing with Izalith first to get the remaining chunks and slab and cheese the Bed of Chaos as well as obtaining the sunlight maggot for later.
A bit late and kinda a pointless thing to add but if you wanted to use power within for this, you could have used the dark moon seance ring for that attunemant slot. You put it on, use power within and then switch rings if you want to. Then rinse repeat for further uses.
If you love bows so much, you should try the Elden Ring Convergence Mod with bows. They properly scale, meaning you can actually get some good damage out of them. I've already done a full playthrough with bows only using the mod and it was a blast!
..being told bows were best in DS2 just... makes me sad, because equipment other physical weapons benefit from bows and crossbows just can't there... By the time i got to use them, powerstancing felt like crap because of the damage debuff and wind up times the version of DS2 i played had put in (thanks Havelyn PvPers). I know you can get through the game with crossbow, but for me, i struggle to do so vs Bows. not only do bows hit faster and have scaling (why not strength scaling just because?), but I'm still pissed about how Bows got access to certain ammo types like poison, and crossbows did not. Apparently bows and crossbows by lore ( even though the scholar version SHOWS an AR increase for them on the stat screen!) can't benefit from Flynns. and to this day that confuses people. so bye bye 50 potential AR. crock of crap that is. I hear so much good about Sanctum, but Honestly ive never used it, because you basically wanna work towards a hex build to make it sing.. and they kinda have that capability already. It will ALWAYS burn me that damage wise i was better off doing something else from the sheer missed boon of flynns, nevermind how many melee weapons I favor benefitted from the same other rings that the bow/ crossbow builds did. Crossbows are hideously powerful, especially the sanctum ones that basically become a handheld nuke with some dark investment
Also, power stancing avelyns was the coolest thing ever I can't believe it isn't in elden ring
